💭 The European Commission is reportedly in close communication with authorities amid an ongoing row between the Ethiopian Government in Addis Ababa and the ethnic Greek community in the country.

Ethiopia is accused of illegally seizing a prominent school set up by the country’s ethnic minority Greek community, with the establishment having since become one of Ethiopia’s largest educational institutions.

Writing to the EC, Greek MEP Manolis Kefalogiannis described the actions of the Ethiopian Government as “deplorable” before demanding to know what steps Brussels is taking to help combat the taking over of the school.

Responding to the question, European Union foreign affairs bigwig Josep Borrell thanked Kefalogiannis for raising the issue before confirming that the EC was working with Greek authorities regarding the seizure.

“The EU Delegation in Addis Ababa is in close contact with the Greek Embassy regarding this issue and has offered its services and support to outreach the government of Ethiopia,” he said, adding that the European External Action Service, its diplomatic arm, was also working on the issue.

Borrell added that the EC hopes a “suitable solution for the Greek community of Ethiopia can be found”, insisting that the EU would “continue to monitor the situation very closely”.

The situation in Addis Ababa is just one of many issues facing the EU in Africa in recent months, with European powers struggling to keep up with challenges on continent.

Apart from the ongoing coups in Niger and Gabon – both of which were formerly within the so-called “Françafrique” sphere of influence of France over former French and Belgian colonies in sub-Saharan Africa – the bloc has also battled to deal with the continued influence of Islamism.

Speaking on behalf of the EC recently, Borrell condemned an Islamist-linked attack on a school in Uganda in June.

“The EU was shocked by the appalling attack on the school in Western Uganda,” he said, adding that the bloc was now “deeply concerned” regarding the what it said was the deteriorating security situation in the region.

🏃‍ Ethiopian star Letesenbet Gidey set a new meet record of 14:08.62 to win the women’s 5k at the Continental Tour Berlin.

Ethiopia’s 10,000m world record holder dominated the 5000m in the German capital, going clear a long way out to win in 14:08.79, the fourth-quickest time in history and more than 20 seconds inside the 22-year-old meeting record.

Winnie Jemutai of Kenya was second in 14:56.99 with compatriot Edinah Jebitok a further five seconds back in third.

Orthodox Christian Letesenbet Gidey, whose parents and family members are forced to risk genocide in the war-torn province of Tigray, holds the current world records for the 10,000 metres and half marathon, which she set in June 2021 and October 2021, respectively. She is only the second athlete after Ingrid Kristiansen from 1989–1991 to hold them simultaneously. Her record in the half marathon, making Letesenbet the first debutante to set a world record in the event, broke the previous mark by more than a minute. She also holds the world best in the 15 km road race, which was also an over one-minute improvement. Letesenbet became the first woman to break the 64 and 63-minute barriers in the half marathon and the 45-minute barrier in the 15 km. She recorded the fastest women’s marathon debut in history at the 2022 Valencia Marathon, placing her seventh on the respective world all-time list.

HRW Q&A: Justice for Serious International Crimes Committed in Ethiopia

Posted by addisethiopia / አዲስ ኢትዮጵያ on September 4, 2023

Two years after the outbreak on November 3, 2020 of armed conflict in Ethiopia’s Tigray region, the two main warring parties signed a cessation of hostilities agreement, ending active fighting.

All the parties to the conflict in northern Ethiopia, committed serious violations of the laws of war and human rights violations and abuses. Since the November 2022 agreement, Eritrean forces in Tigray have carried out killings, rape, and other forms of sexual violence, and looting in areas under their control, while Amhara security forces have continued to carry out an ethnic cleansing campaign against Tigrayans in Western Tigray Zone. In August, intensifying clashes between the Ethiopian military and local militias known as Fano in towns across the Amhara region have resulted in hundreds of casualties, including children, refugees, and humanitarian staff.

The Ethiopian government declared a broad state of emergency in the region with mass arrests of ethnic Amharas since reported in the region and in Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa.

Despite repeated demands from victims of abuses and their families for meaningful justice and redress for abuses, the cessation of hostilities agreement lacked details on formal accountability, notably on the types of mechanisms that could investigate alleged crimes for future prosecution, referencing instead the government’s commitment to implementing a “transitional justice policy framework to ensure accountability, truth, reconciliation, and healing.”

While Ethiopian officials contend that the steps they have taken since the agreement demonstrate a commitment to accountability, concerns remain over weaknesses and independence of the justice sector, the credibility and scope of investigations conducted so far, normative gaps within Ethiopia’s domestic laws to criminalize atrocity crimes, and, most importantly, the political will to ensure comprehensive justice and redress for victims of serious abuses. Survivors over the past four years have repeatedly expressed mistrust in Ethiopia’s domestic processes.

Ongoing international scrutiny and investigations are needed. The International Commission of Human Rights Experts on Ethiopia (ICHREE), established by the United Nations Human Rights Council in December 2021, is the only existing body with the expertise and mandate to independently investigate abuses committed in Ethiopia since November 2020, and collect and preserve evidence for future prosecutions. ICHREE’s current mandate expires in September 2023. The Human Rights Council at its September session will need to renew ICHREE’s mandate so it can continue its work.

This Question and Answer document, addresses key issues in bringing justice for widespread atrocity crimes – including war crimes and crimes against humanity, the crucial role that the ICHREE plays to support accountability, redress, and other forms of transitional justice, and the need to reverse the Ethiopian government’s longtime practice of launching investigations in response to public pressure about human rights abuses without taking meaningful action. It calls on Human Rights Council member countries to support the renewal of the commission’s mandate for another year.

  • 1. What has been the human rights situation in Ethiopia since the signing of a cessation of hostilities agreement to the conflict in northern Ethiopia?

The human rights and humanitarian situation in Ethiopia remain dire.

Since the signing of the November agreement, human rights abuses, including killings and sexual violence have continued in Tigray. Eritrean forces remain in parts of the region and have obstructed humanitarian assistance and are reported to have kidnapped people and pillaged property in areas they occupy. In Western Tigray Zone, authorities and Amhara regional forces and militias known as Fano continued an ethnic cleansing campaign and forcibly expelled Tigrayans.

Rights abuses also continue elsewhere in the country.

In April, violence erupted in the Amhara region following the government’s plans to dismantle regional special forces in the country and integrate them into the regular police or military. The government blocked mobile internet access and began military operations against Fano militias that had seized control of major towns in the region. Authorities arrested several journalists who had been reporting on developments in the region.

By early August, clashes intensified, and reports of civilian casualties and damage to civilian infrastructure increased. The government then declared a sweeping state of emergency in the region that restricts basic human rights and grants the government broad powers to extend the emergency declaration throughout the country as needed. Arbitrary arrests, including of opposition politicians, have been reported in Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa.

In Oromia, a long simmering and abusive government counterinsurgency campaign against an armed group, the Oromo Liberation Army, has been underway since 2019. The operation resulted in serious rights abuses against the civilian population, including arbitrary detentions, summary executions, and large-scale massacres. Similar abuses are continuing in 2023 according to reporting from the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission and the media.

  • 2. How has the Ethiopian government responded to calls for accountability for conflict-related abuses in northern Ethiopia or in response to reports of serious abuses elsewhere in the country?

When Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed took office in 2018, he committed to addressing past wrongs. Later that year he established a reconciliation commission with a broad mandate, but without public consultations. It dissolved three years later without any visible achievements. National authorities also took steps towards justice for past abuses by bringing charges against high-ranking government officials. However, those investigations were limited in scope and appeared selective, as many other officials implicated in serious violations – including in the Somali, Oromia, and Gambella regions – never faced investigations, let alone trial. Charges against officials were soon dropped.

Following serious violence in 2019 and 2020, the government committed to bringing those responsible for abuses to account. Yet, investigations and promises of compensation were slow or quietly discontinued, leaving grievances unaddressed.

Resistance to independent investigations and monitoring

During the conflict in northern Ethiopia, the Ethiopian government denied or downplayed credible reports of grave abuses committed by the Ethiopian military and allied forces, while limiting or attempting to silence independent reporting and criticism through the expulsion of diplomats, UN staff, and international journalists.

Since the UN Human Rights Council established the ICHREE in late 2021, the government has tried to cut its funding on multiple occasions. In July 2022, the government set forth its requirements to cooperate with ICHREE that would entail inappropriate interference with the independence of its work. In March, authorities threatened to introduce a resolution at the Human Rights Council that would prematurely terminate the ICREE’s mandate. The government also refused to cooperate with and resisted the work of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights(ACHPR) Commission of Inquiry on Tigray – who’s investigation ended in May, without the release of a public report on its findings and recommendations.

Lack of progress on investigations for international violations committed in northern Ethiopia

Domestic investigations and initiatives taken so far have raised serious concerns whether such processes can meet international standards of impartiality, independence, and transparency. Preliminary findings by the Ethiopian government into abuses committed in Axum in Tigray in November 2020 ignored the role of Ethiopian forces in extrajudicial executions and pillage of civilian infrastructure and property, as well as the massacre by Eritrean forces of hundreds of civilians over 24 hours. In 2022, the government acknowledged that its investigation was not fully completed but continued to suggest that the majority of those killed died in fighting, in stark contrast with the findings by domestic and UN rights bodies.

Subsequent government investigations into abuses by Ethiopian federal and regional forces have been opaque or intended to deflect pressure for international investigations rather than genuinely advancing justice and redress.

In late 2021, the Ministry of Justice established an Inter-Ministerial Task Force following the release of the joint report by the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and the national Ethiopian Human Rights Commission. The Task Force released its first report in September 2022, providing an update on the status of investigations into conflict-related abuses in Tigray.

The Task Force report stated that as of August 2022, Ethiopia’s closed military courts handed down 25 convictions and 2 acquittals. However, no further information has been made public on the findings of these investigations and trials, the rank of Ethiopian federal force personnel involved, locations where incidents occurred, how abuses implicating regional forces have been investigated, or clarity on participation of survivors or family members in the proceedings.

The Ethiopian government’s reliance on the military court system to try serious violations committed by Ethiopian military forces continue to lack transparency and raise concerns about due process and justice and redress for victims and survivors of heinous crimes. At present, military court judges are appointed at the recommendation of the Minister of Defense, or the commander-in-chief of the armed forces at the recommendation of the Minister, which raises serious issues about the impartiality and independence of military courts.

The Task Force report also stated that violations in Western Tigray Zone would be investigated by December 2022. The government so far has not released details of these investigations, nor taken any action to hold anyone responsible despite reports that authorities and forces present in the Zone have continued an ethnic cleansing campaign against Tigrayans since the November 2022 ceasefire agreement.

In January 2023, the Ethiopian government released a draft “Policy Options for Transitional Justice” (Green Paper), as a starting point for public consultations. The government began seeking public input through a process that began in February and will reportedly be completed by September 2023, but communities in many parts of the country, including in the Amhara region and parts of the Oromia region, are still affected by fighting. Political opposition groups, civil society groups, Ethiopian human rights experts, as well as those taking part in the consultations have already expressed criticism over the policy document’s focus on the principle of sovereignty, the inclusiveness of the consultations, and the timeliness of the discussion while fighting was ongoing. In Tigray, participants reportedly raised concerns over the document’s failure to address how Eritrean forces may be held to account.

  • 3. The government has invited the UN human rights office to monitor the human rights situation in northern Ethiopia. What is the difference between the investigative mandate of ICHREE and work by UN human rights monitors?

The federal government has accepted monitoring work on the human rights situation in northern Ethiopia, by the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, as well as the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission. Human rights monitoring work, however, is very different from the work of independent investigative mechanisms, such as the UN-mandated commission of experts on Ethiopia (ICHREE).

Fact-finding and independent mechanisms are often established by decisions of UN bodies or regional human rights institutions to respond to crisis or complex human rights situations. They play a crucial independent fact-finding and investigative role, to strengthen human rights protection and publicly report on abuses of international human rights and humanitarian law by the parties to the conflict. They document abuses, gather, and preserve evidence, analyze the nature of the crimes documented, and when possible, identify perpetrators and assist in advancing accountability and redress for victims of serious crimes. ICHREE, for instance is mandated to collect and preserve evidence of serious crimes, and to identify those responsible, with a view towards making such information accessible and usable in support of ongoing and future accountability efforts. They can also play an important role towards transitional justice efforts that focus on truth-seeking and preserving a historical record.

Human rights monitoring work, often carried out by national human rights institutions, civil society groups, or by the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights through its field or country offices, plays an important role in monitoring the human rights situation in the country as they occur and bringing this to the attention of relevant authorities and human rights bodies, as well as providing technical human rights advice. They are not equipped to document past violations that may constitute international crimes, and are not mandated to preserve evidence, identify those responsible, or build case files for future accountability.

Ethiopia’s donors have supported the deployment of three OHCHR international human rights monitors to the Tigray and Amhara regions. It is not clear whether or how the UN human rights office will publicly report on the findings of the monitors. Though the work of the monitors is important, monitoring work is not a substitute for comprehensive criminal investigations.

  • 4. Why is an independent investigative mechanism on Ethiopia still needed if the government is pursuing investigations and starting a transitional justice process?

Since 2018, initiatives by the government into serious rights abuses have not effectively investigated human rights violations and abuses, raising questions about the capacity and independence of Ethiopia’s investigative and judicial institutions.

Federal and regional investigative authorities have violated the due process rights of high-profile detainees, such as critical journalists or political opposition figures, by forcibly disappearing them or holding them incommunicado, denying them access to their lawyers and family members for weeks or months, or moving them between makeshift and official detention sites.

Concerns also remain over the influence that Ethiopia’s federal and regional authorities have over judicial processes, where investigative authorities have routinely appealed or ignored court decisions in cases involving critics of the government or opposition figures.

There have also been cases where investigations and judicial decisions have been subject to political interference, compromising the ability of domestic bodies to act with impartiality and independence. For example, in October 2022 police detained three Supreme Court judges in the Oromia region after they granted bail to six security personnel of the opposition political party leader.

The increasingly repressive environment has eroded civic space in the country, with government harassment and detention of critical voices forcing journalists, opposition members, and civil society activists into silence or exile.

Following widespread reports of brutal sexual violence against women and girls in Tigray in early 2021, the Ethiopian government set up a task force team to investigate the claims. Officials tried to revise the task force’s findings to omit reports of rape by Ethiopian and Eritrean forces, according to a former federal minister charged with creating the team.

The government has also largely failed to credibly investigate and prosecute atrocity crimes, including war crimes and crimes against humanity, committed by federal and regional forces, and Eritrean forces during the conflict in northern Ethiopia. During its March oral update at the UN Human Rights Council, ICHREE also raised concerns about the lack of domestic pathways for accountability for serious violations committed by Eritrean forces in Ethiopia.

Though the Ethiopian government has announced a three-year plan to reform and overhaul the justice sector, ongoing independent investigations that can impartially document reports of gross human rights abuses and collect information for evidentiary purposes, are still needed for there to be any chance of genuine accountability.

It is unlikely that ICHREE will have finalized a comprehensive investigation of crimes committed during the conflict in northern Ethiopia by the end of its current mandate in September 2023 given the scale of the abuses committed since the beginning of the conflict.

  • 5. What are victims of human rights abuses in Ethiopia calling for?

Recent victims of serious human rights abuses in Ethiopia and their families have been consistent in their calls for basic acknowledgment by the Ethiopian government of the harm they’ve suffered, justice and accountability for those most responsible for abuses, and redress for what they have lost, according to Human Rights Watch research since 2020. However, they have expressed a lack of trust in state institutions and continue to seek greater international attention to their suffering and for action to end impunity.

  • 6. Why is documentation and evidence preservation so important?

As violence continues in Ethiopia, it is implausible to ask victims of grave abuses to wait for the outcome of a domestic transitional justice process or for domestic investigations. Any such process may come too late for those affected. Accountability that victims and concerned governments have been calling for requires a prompt and credible assessment of the abuses. There is a great need to gather evidence, and properly preserve such evidence that is available for future accountability mechanisms, including domestic ones, that meet international standards. Otherwise, there is a risk that such evidence gets lost due to a lack of investigations or is intentionally destroyed, further undermining prospects that victims can obtain justice in the future.

  • 7. What should members of the UN Human Rights Council do at its 54th session?

Members of the UN Human Rights Council at its 54th session in September-October 2023 should ensure the Council adopts a resolution renewing the mandate of the International Commission of Human Rights Experts on Ethiopia (ICHREE). Only comprehensive collection and continued preservation of evidence will make prospects of future accountability viable for victims. Now is not the time for the Human Rights Council to terminate its investigations by letting the ICHREE mandate lapse.

Hurricane Idalia — What Was The Cause of Hurricane ID(T)ALIA?

Ida originated from the convergence of several low-latitude weather systems, with its genesis marked by a tropical wave emerging from the African coast on August 14. Initially, this wave exhibited limited strength and posed challenges in terms of tracking, as it advanced gradually westward within the monsoon trough conditions across the eastern tropical Atlantic.

Anti Ethiopia Conspiracy Can Cause Universal Cataclysm as Ethiopia is a Biblical Nation Under the Almighty Egziabher God

Return Of The Bible Plagues: Hurricanes, Lightnings, floods, Viruses, forest fire, birds and bees fleeing, locusts, pollution, Perversion, Paganism, Racialism, Sodomism, Islam – it’s happening right in front of our eyes. While it is expected that the world will mock the God of heaven and earth, it is somewhat of a shock to realize that many still have no idea that all of this is a warning from God and a call to repentance.

America, please STOP the anti-Ethiopia CONSPIRACY, Stop babysitting Saudi and Egypt Muslim agents like the current evil Oromo PM Abiy Ahmed, who is waging genocide against Christian Ethiopians. Stop attacking our babies, our kids, our women, our foods, our waters, our plants and trees! STOP it now!

The Almighty Egziabher will never forget that you have directly or indirectly murdered hundreds of millions of Christian Ethiopians in the past – according to your own sources (the World Peace Foundation), only between 1870 and 1980, 115 million Christians were starved to death in Ethiopia. In 110 years, 115 million innocent Ethiopians were murdered by starvation alone, every year a million Ethiopians. Think about it! I am certain, since 1980, over 500 million Ethiopians were murdered by the evil conspiracies of Western and Arab powers.

What do you think of how The Almighty Egziabher Lord would think about all these crimes? Haven’t you learned your lessons that Ethiopia is a biblical nation under God that survived great trials for 7,490 years of its existence and ordained to invoke divine judgment and imminent universal cataclysm?

How terrible it is for these wicked nations, for they bring judgment upon themselves!

I have been documenting abuses at international borders for more than three decades…”. “But the violence against unarmed migrants by Saudi Arabia is of an order above and beyond anything I have seen before.“ BILL FRELICK

Just last year, I interviewed and reported on Afghan asylum seekers whom Greek border guards had stripped naked in the dead of winter and forced into the river bordering Turkey.

I have stood on the docks at Port-au-Prince where U.S. Coast Guard personnel forcibly disembarked Haitians into the arms of their persecutors. I have taken hundreds of witness and victim accounts of border guard extortion, beatings and summary expulsions in Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas.

I thought I could no longer be shocked and horrified by such accounts, but I was wrong.

For months, if not longer, Saudi border guards have been systematically shooting and shelling Ethiopian migrants and asylum seekers trying to cross from Yemen along the remote, inaccessible border that divides the two countries. These migrants include large numbers of women and children. They are unarmed. Hundreds, perhaps thousands, have been killed.

Videos and photographs detail the severity of these attacks. They show piles of bodies stacked in containers at a hospital in Yemen; flesh torn from bullets, shrapnel and explosive force; limbs amputated; life brutally ended and forever altered, all documented on camera.

Both Presidents Joe Biden and Donald Trump flew to Saudi Arabia to hobnob with its leaders. For U.S. presidents of whatever stripe, human rights seem to take a back seat to economic and security interests when it comes to Saudi Arabia. At what point will the flow of blood be of comparable concern to the flow of oil?

The number of Ethiopian migrants and asylum seekers killed at this border will never be known. Survivor accounts paint a picture of horrific killing fields.

“From 150 [in my group], only seven people survived that day,” said one. “There were remains of people everywhere, scattered everywhere.”

Another survivor went to the Saudi border to collect the remains of a girl from his village. “Her body was piled up on top of 20 bodies,” he said.

Saudi border guards are using explosive weapons indiscriminately and shooting people at close range. In some instances, they reportedly first asked their victims where on their body they preferred to be shot, before shooting them.

Between January and June, Human Rights Watch interviewed by telephone 38 Ethiopian migrants and asylum seekers who had tried to cross the border from Yemen into Saudi Arabia between March 2022 and June of this year, as well as four friends and relatives of those who tried to cross.

Human Rights Watch also analyzed over 350 videos and photographs posted to social media or gathered from other sources, and several hundred square kilometers of satellite imagery. These show dead and wounded migrants on the trails, in camps and in medical facilities, how burial sites near the migrant camps grew in size, the expanding Saudi border security infrastructure, and the routes currently used by the migrants to attempt border crossings.

The border killings are widespread and systematic. If committed as part of a Saudi government policy to murder migrants, these killings would be a crime against humanity.

Many Americans are aware of the 2018 brutal murder and dismembering of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi by Saudi agents at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. But because these shootings are taking place in such a remote area and the victims have few powerful defenders, these mass killings on the border with Yemen have been almost entirely unreported.

The remainder of Saudi Arabia’s human rights record is abysmal. Saudi authorities continue to target, arbitrarily detain, torture and ill-treat political dissidents, human rights activists, women’s rights leaders, academics and religious leaders. Saudi courts rely on torture-tainted confessions as the sole basis for convictions.

On one day alone, March 12, 2022, Saudi Arabia executed 81 people, 41 of whom were from the Shia Muslim minority, who have long suffered systemic discrimination. And Saudi Arabia continues to obstruct efforts for justice in Yemen, where airstrikes by the coalition it leads have killed and wounded thousands of civilians since 2015.

I don’t for a moment want to divert attention from pushbacks at other borders, including the U.S. border with Mexico. But the violence against unarmed migrants by Saudi Arabia is of an order above and beyond anything I have seen before. It demands our attention and must be prioritized in any dealings with the Saudi government. A robust and unambiguous response is imperative.

❖ A Biblical Sign of The End Times?

👹 Locust invasion of Saudi Arabia

The sky above the mosques in Mecca and Medina was covered with locusts.

In Saudi Arabia, These swarms of locusts spread from East Africa and threaten the food security of the region. The United Nations have called it an impending catastrophe. Others are calling it a biblical sign of the end times.

Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”- Romans 12:19

All we have to do is watch the local daily news and it is just one horror story after another with all of the evil crimes being committed against good, God-fearing people by evil monsters like the Saudis.

How any parent, any innocent citizen can handle the extreme pain and trauma of their children being massacred by many of the predators who are still roaming free in Jeddah, Abu Dhabi, Asmara, Addis Ababa, Brussels, Rome, London or Washington today is beyond me.

This has to be an extremely excruciating pain that is beyond anything most of us could ever imagine in this life – to lose one of your own flesh-and-blood children to nothing but pure evil.

When we begin to see pure evil like this occur every single day across this world, we can begin to understand why God would allow such a place like hell to exist.

The mental and emotional damage and scarring that is done to many who have been the victims of evil crimes can be extremely severe, and for some, they will never fully recover or come all of the way out it due the extreme pain, grief, and sorrow they now find themselves in.

All of the very powerful Biblical verses will show us that all vengeance and payback in this life belongs to the Lord, not to us. And this will also include any of our close friends or family members who may want to try and get even for us if we have been the victim of an evil crime.

The first thing you must do if you have been the victim of a heavy evil wrong is that you must first step back and look at the big picture. The big picture will tell you two very important things:

  1. One, there is a God in heaven who will eventually be judging every single person who is walking on this earth for every single thing they have ever done or said in this life, which will also include any vicious evil wrong they have committed against us.
  1. And two, every single person will eventually be dying and leaving this earth. And when they do, they will all be facing God Almighty Himself for the above judgment – with absolutely no exceptions!

If God is going to be the final judge on all matters, then this means He will be executing full and final justice for everyone who has been seriously hurt and wronged in this life by another person if that person has not had this sin confessed out and forgiven by Him before they die and cross over to meet Him face to face.

God Himself will be evening out all of the scores when everything is all finally said and done.

1. Righteousness and Justice Are the Foundation of God’s Throne

So you know that God is not going to let the matter go if you have been the victim of an evil crime, these first set of verses are going to tell you that righteousness and justice are the actual foundations of God’s throne.

And when God gives us revelation from His Word that His throne has righteousness and justice as part of His actual foundations, then you know He is giving all of us a major key piece of revelation that we can rely on and bank on if someone has seriously wronged us in this life.

Here are 5 extremely powerful verses giving us this key piece of revelation from the Lord. Burn these verses into your memory banks if you are ever forced to deal with any kind of a heavy evil wrong in this life.

“You have a mighty arm; strong is Your hand, and high is Your right hand. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne …” (Psalm 89:13)

“The Lord executes righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed.” (Psalm 103:6)

“Clouds and darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne. A fire goes before Him, and burns up His enemies round about. His lightnings light the world; the earth sees and trembles. The mountains melt like wax at the presence of the Lord … For You, Lord, are most high above all the earth; You are exalted far above all gods.” (Psalm 97: 2,9)

“The Lord is righteous in all His ways, gracious in all His works.” (Psalm 145:17)

“For I proclaim the name of the Lord: ascribe greatness to our God. He is the Rock, His work is perfect: for all His ways are justice, a God of truth and without injustice; righteous and upright is He.” (Deuteronomy 32:3)

Notice the second verse is telling us that God the Father will actually execute righteousness and justice for everyone who gets oppressed in this life. And if you have been the victim of an evil crime or some kind of bad abusive act from another, then you have been oppressed, and sooner or later God will execute some type of judgment on the person who has hurt you.

This is why you can let the matter of any type of personal revenge fully go into the hands of God – because God will now fully handle this bad person who has hurt you.

God will now be your personal Judge and Jury, along with being the actual Executioner if this person ends up getting thrown into hell for all of eternity for what evil they have done to you and others in their lives.

2. The Eyes of the Lord Are in Every Place

The next key piece of revelation you will need from the Lord is that His eyes are literally in every single place, watching every single person on this earth, along with watching every single thing they are doing minute by minute.

Absolutely nothing will escape God’s eye and attention, which will include any evil act they may commit against you.

Here are three more powerful verses to add to the ones just listed above.

“The eyes of the Lord are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and good.” (Proverbs 15:3)

“For My eyes are on all their ways; they are not hidden from My face, nor is their iniquity hidden from My eyes.” (Jeremiah 16:17)

“And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.” (Hebrews 4:13)

Notice the second verse is telling you that all of a person’s iniquities will not be hidden from the Lord. The last verse then puts the icing on this cake when it tells us that absolutely no creature will be hidden from God’s sight, and everything that a person has done in this life will be naked and fully open to the eyes of the Lord.

Evil criminals may think they are getting away with cold-blooded murder in this life, but sooner or later they will all face God Almighty Himself for all of their evil acts – and that is where true, full, and final justice will be rendered on what evil they have done to others in this life.

Again, if you have been the victim of a heavy evil wrong in this life, just realize and believe that God will sooner or later have their hide, and that a full, final, and just verdict will be rendered against them by the Lord for all of the evil acts they have committed against others in this life.

3. God Shows Personal Favoritism to No Man

Three more good verses to add into all of this are the ones that will show us that God the Father will show no personal favoritism to any man and woman He has ever created.

This means that every single person will end up receiving a fair, final, and just judgment from the Lord for any evil acts they have committed against another person.

Here are three very powerful verses that will show us that God the Father will judge all people without any type of partiality.

“… God shows personal favoritism to no man …” (Galatians 2:6)

“And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one’s work …” (1 Peter 1:17)

“For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality nor takes a bribe.” (Deuteronomy 10:17)

The last verse tells us that not only will God judge all people without any type of partiality, but He also will not be able to be bribed by anyone.

How many times have we seen an evil criminal get off scot-free or with a light jail sentence, all because a jury had been tampered with, or a judge bought out by his friends in high places?

We have seen this occur many times in trials involving organized crime. But again, if they end up getting off down here as a result of a bribe, they will not be able to do this with the Lord once they meet Him face-to-face for their own personal judgment.

So if by chance an evil criminal who has hurt you gets off scot-free due to some problems and technicalities within the criminal justice system, realize that God will eventually get to them on the other side. And this time, there will be no mixups, problems, technicalities, or bribes that will be able to get them off with the Lord.

Again, this is why you can fully let go of any evil inflicted upon you by another person, as they will eventually be facing the Lord for their own personal judgment once they die, cross over, and meet Him face-to-face.

4. God Will Not Strive With a Man Forever

Two other verses you will need to have on this topic are the verses where the Lord will not strive with a man forever. What this means is that God will strive after someone for a certain length of time.

But if after that certain length of time, the person is still refusing to listen to what the Lord is trying to show them, then God will quit striving after them and from there, He could then move to render some type of personal judgment against them.

If someone has hurt you or is continuing to hurt you, and at the same time, God is striving after them trying to show them the errors of their ways, then sooner or later God will quit striving after them if they refuse to listen to the convictions of the Holy Spirit.

And once God quits striving after them, then some type of personal judgment could be waiting for them right around the corner – either in this life or the next life to come.

If any unbeliever has hurt you in some way in this life, you will need to forgive them and pray for their salvation so they do not end up going to hell when they die and cross over.

If another Christian is the one who is hurting you, again, you will need to forgive them, and then ask God to make a move on them so He can try and get them straightened out with what they are doing to either you or some of the other people in their lives.

But if they refuse to straighten out and change their bad behavior and evil ways, then rest assured that God will eventually have the appropriate judgment rendered against them once they die, cross over, and meet Him face-to-face.

Here are two very bone-chilling verses that will show us that God will not strive with a man forever.

“The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in mercy. He will not always strive with us, nor will He keep His anger forever.” (Psalm 103:8)

And the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh …” (Genesis 6:3)

These two verses are showing us why we should all pray for our enemies and for those who have hurt us in the past. If a person has hurt you in your past, then chances are they are hurting other people in their present with the same kind of behavior.

To know that God will not strive after a man forever means that some of these people could end up in the most horrible place imaginable after they die and cross over.

5. Vengeance Belongs to the Lord – Not to Us

These last set of verses are now the ones that will be showing us that any type of personal vengeance in this life belongs to the Lord, not to us.

If you have been the victim of any type of evil crime in this life, really study and meditate on these next set of verses. These verses should all be interpreted very literally, as God is meaning exactly what He is saying in these verses. Again, these are extremely, bone-chilling verses for anyone who is committing any type of evil acts in this life.

These verses in particular will show you why you can fully trust God to avenge you in this life for any evil committed against you by another person.

Also notice in the very first verse that it starts out with the wording “repay no one evil for evil.”

This is a direct Word from God in that He does not want any of us trying to repay someone who has hurt us with another evil act on our part. In other words, God does not want any of us to try and get revenge on someone for what they may have done to us, as He says in this verse that vengeance and payback belongs to Him, and Him alone.

Here are 7 extremely powerful verses that will put the icing on this entire cake showing us that all justice, vengeance, and payback in this life belongs to the Lord, not to us.

“Repay no one evil for evil … live peaceably with all men. Beloved, do not avenge yourselves … for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. Therefore if your enemy hungers, feed him; if he thirsts, give him a drink … Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” (Romans 12:17-21)

“God is jealous, and the Lord avenges; the Lord avenges and is furious. The Lord will take vengeance on His adversaries, and reserves wrath for His enemies; the Lord is slow to anger and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked.” (Nahum 1:2-3)

“The Lord is known by the judgment He executes, the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands” (Psalm 9:16)

“… And He repays those who hate Him to their face, to destroy them. He will not be slack with him who hates Him; He will repay him to his face.” (Deuteronomy 7:9)

“Who can stand before His indignation? And who can endure the fierceness of His anger? His fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by Him.” (Nahum 1:6)

“The Lord kills and makes alive; He brings down to the grave and brings up. The Lord makes poor and makes rich; He brings low and lifts up.” (1 Samuel 2:6-7)

“You shall destroy those who speak falsehood; the Lord abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.” (Psalm 5:6)

These verses need no interpretation. God is speaking as plainly and as clearly as He can. As such, there should be no God-fearing Christian who should attempt to take the law into their own hands and try to get even with another person who has severely wronged them in this life.

Notice the following key phrases in the above verses:

  • Repay no one evil for evil
  • Do not avenge yourselves
  • “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord
  • The Lord avenges
  • The Lord will take vengeance on His adversaries
  • The Lord is known by the judgment He executes
  • He repays those who hate Him to their face
  • Overcome evil with good
