Mysterious Airbase Under Construction on Strategic Island off Yemen | Assab 2.0 of UAE?

Posted by addisethiopia / አዲስ ኢትዮጵያ on May 25, 2021

The airbase also gives the controller access for operations into the Red Sea

A mysterious airbase is being built on a volcanic island—the Mayun Island off Yemen. No country has claimed the structure being built in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.

The strait is one of the world’s crucial maritime chokepoints for both energy shipments and commercial cargo.is linked to the United Arab Emirates, AP reports.

Officials in Yemen’s government say that the UAE is behind the current attempt too. In 2019, UAE had announced that it was withdrawing its troops from a Saudi-led military campaign battling Yemen’s Houthi rebels.

Whoever controls an airbase on the Mayun island is automatically elevated to a position of power, as it allows them to launch airstrikes into conflict-ridden Yemen. The airbase also gives the controller access for operations into the Red Sea, the Gulf of Aden and nearby East Africa.

Dump trucks and graders building a 6,070-foot runway on the island can be seen on satellite images from Planet Labs Inc as of April 11.

Military officials have said that the recent tension between Yemeni President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi and the UAE was partly due to UAE demanding that the Yemeni government sign a 20-year lease for Mayun island.

The strategic location of the island also known as Perim island has been recognised internationally. The island was under British control until 1967 when they departed from Yemen.

Ass per a 1981 CIA analysis, the Soviet Union, allied with South Yemen’s Marxist government, upgraded Mayun’s naval facilities but used them intermittently.

Officials in Yemen’s Internationally Recognized Government Now Say The Emiratis Are Behind This Latest Effort

The apparent decision by the Emiratis to resume building the air base comes after the UAE dismantled parts of a military base it ran in the East African nation of Eritrea as a staging ground for its Yemen campaign.

While the Horn of Africa “has become a dangerous place” for the Emiratis due to competitors and local war risks, Mayun has a small population and offers a valuable site for monitoring the Red Sea, said Eleonora Ardemagni, an analyst at the Italian Institute for International Political Studies. The region has seen a rise in attacks and incidents.

Yemeni Girls As Young As Three Married Off For Food

With the bloody conflict in Yemen raging on, desperate parents choose to make their daughters child brides, feeling it is the only way to let other relatives survive the famine and destruction on the ground, Oxfam told RT.

The “man-made humanitarian catastrophe” caused by the brutal civil war in Yemen forced some parents to sell off their daughters, some as young as three years old, in hopes that the dowry bride will keep the rest of the family alive, international charity Oxfam reported.

The relatives planned to use the money, paid for the child brides, to buy food and shelter.

They think this is the only way” to stay alive, Oxfam’s director for Yemen, Muhsin Siddiquey, told RT. “They can bring the dowry, and that can protect the whole family and other extended members.”

Overall, “10 million are just on the brink of famine” in Yemen, he said, adding that the four years of war also sparked “the worst cholera crisis in the century.”

If the humanitarian assistance is not provided timely” and the food supply becomes “nonfunctional even for a day… there will be much more catastrophic situations,” Siddiquey stressed.

The conflict in Yemen, exacerbated by the Saudi-led intervention in 2015, placed a heavy toll on the civilian population, with 400,000 children suffering from “life-threatening” malnutrition, according to the UN figures.

Housing also remains an acute problem since much of homes were demolished by deadly air raids.

Must Read: ‘Declaration Of War:’ Hajj Controversy Widens Row Between Saudi Arabia & Qatar While Shiites Attempt To Bomb Mecca

Posted by addisethiopia / አዲስ ኢትዮጵያ on July 31, 2017

The Iran backed insurgents in Yemen recently acknowledged that they had launched on Thursday a ballistic missile towards Mecca region in Saudi Arabia, reported one Middle East news agency. Now the war over Mecca rises between Qatar and Saudi Arabia as Qatar demands that Mecca become an international city while Saudi Arabia threatens “war” with Qatar over this issue.

Firstly, Alsharq Al-Awsat reported:

An observer only needs Google Maps or any similar app to determine just how close the King Fahad Air Base is to the Great Mosque of Mecca. The Arab Coalition air defense had managed to intercept Thursday’s missile. The launch was deemed by observers as an attempt to “ruin the Hajj pilgrimage season.” This is not the first time that the insurgents acknowledged that they had targeted Saudi Arabia. They sought in October 2016 to strike Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport, which also lies in the Mecca region.

In October last year, one ballistic missile that was shot down came close near Makkah and in the following month alone, at the same year, Saudi Arabia had intercepted 11 Scud missiles aimed to take down Mecca’s holy site.

And then we read another headline from RT: “‘Declaration of war:’ Hajj controversy widens row between Saudi Arabia & Qatar” which reveals:

The feud between the Saudi-led block and Qatar escalated over the weekend, with Doha protesting to the UN over restrictions on its citizens flying to Mecca, and Riyadh threatening “war” over what it considers calls to “internationalize the holy sites” in Mecca and Medina.”

Can it get any worse than this for Mecca? Answer is yes. Most do not pay attention to detail, scripture says:

And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. For God hath put in their hearts to fulfill his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast.” (Apocalypse 17)

The Muslim alliance that is already forming as we see Turkey uniting with Qatar and tomorrow even with Iran will “agree” to “hate the whore” (Saudi Arabia) and “burn her with fire” and that “God hath put it in their heart to fulfill his will”.

One thing about God is that every letter is fulfilled precisely as He says it will.

And think about where these scuds are aimed at:

The facility [where the scuds are launched at] is the primary arrival point of the majority of pilgrims headed to Mecca. “What is worrisome is not the ballistic threat alone, but the fact that the missile, according to experts, could be manipulated to increase its range. This consequently reduces its accuracy and makes it veer off its trajectory, which means it could land in civilian areas, most notably injure pilgrims.”

The Islamic world and international community are expecting the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to hold an emergency meeting within the upcoming days to address the Houthi and Saleh militias’ targeting of Mecca.

Political observers expect the 56-member OIC to hold a meeting that would call for tangible action to thwart the Houthi and Saleh violations. This stance will come in light of a November 2016 meeting of Islamic country foreign ministers, who had taken a collective stand against the first Mecca attack and those behind it.

OIC Secretary General Dr. Youssef al-Othaimeen condemned Thursday’s failed attack, saying that it confirms “without a doubt, the Houthi and Saleh militias’ insistence to target holy sites in Saudi Arabia.”

But Saudi Arabia’s appeal to the O.I.C will fall on deaf ears since Turkey’s Erdogan stands with Qatar which gave allegiance to Erdogan. Today the Muslim world already “hate the harlot” that controlled them spiritually.

This allegiance therefore with Antichrist is not exclusively the hatred of Israel, but the hatred of Arabia as well. This is further proof why Sheba and Dedan in Ezekiel 38 are on the sidelines when it comes to the hatred of Israel and Saudi Arabia these days seeks Israel’s aid. And today we see this already forming. Saudi Arabia has been also making historic peace gestures to Israel after realizing its isolation in the Middle East.

Qatar’s request to internationalize the holy sites is an aggressive act and a declaration of war against the kingdom, Saudi Arabia’s al-Jubeir told the Al Arabiya News, adding, that Saudi Arabia “reserve the right to respond to any party” promoting such demands.

But Qatar is no small-fry since its backed up by Turkey which stationed Turkish troops in Qatar.

Being backed by Turkey, the most powerful Muslim nation, Doha has rejected the 13-point ultimatum, with Qatar defiantly speeding up the deployment of Turkish troops to the country. Now Saudi Arabia has a pincer effect against it with Iran to its east and Shiite Houthis to the south.

And in another development, the Qatari Defense Minister Khalid bin Mohammad al-Attiyah told RT Arabic Tuesday that joint drills between the Turkish, Qatari and US militaries were said to be in the final stages of preparation.

Students of scripture should pay less attention to the so-called Sunni-Shiite divide and more attention to the wahhabist versus non-wahhabist divide. This is what we already see quickly coming together.

This is why studying a single verse or two in Scripture must be done extremely carefully weighing inductively other verses with careful attention to geography, history and also theology. Scripture is mainly a theological argument and not just prophetic.

Last year we wrote:

It is impossible to understand how the hatred develops for Arabia to be destroyed by her spiritual offspring unless she is hated by them. This means a unity between Shiites and non-Wahhabi Sunnis against Arabia including wanting Mecca out of Al-Saud’s control.

And what do we see today? We see demands to exactly what we said a year ago. Qatar demands Mecca become international to all Muslims. Now its not only Iran demanding to boycott Mecca but also Qatar and tomorrow it will be Turkey uniting with Iran since Iran too is against Saudi Arabia.

Even Al-Azhar, the hub of Muslim scholarship par excellence in the Sunni (not Shiite) world is calling to boycott Arabia. This was done with participation of 200 senior Sunni scholars, emphasizing that Saudi Wahhabism is no longer “Sunni” since the Wahhabists anathematize the Ash’ari and the Sufi Muslims who with the Shiites make up a majority in the Muslim world. The Shiites would simply want this abandonment of Saudi Arabia done by completely opting for Karbala as the center of Islam instead of Mecca which their theology teaches that Mecca is to be destroyed (1).

Islam is a Christian schism and a cult, its unitarian, an extension of the Arian heresy, and not just some other foreign religion. This is why it gets the title of being an Abrahamic faith. This is why it encompasses all heresies “mother of harlots” and is why its history is filled with legends inspired by jinn (demons) mimicking biblical stories.

Yemen Tragedy: Forgetting History – Paying the Price

Posted by addisethiopia / አዲስ ኢትዮጵያ on March 28, 2017

Please read the below report on the current war in Yemen in the context of the story I posted back in 2009, under the title:

Funerals Denied to Ethiopian Christians in Yemen

Millions of Ethiopian Christian immigrants are living under difficult social, cultural and economic conditions in Yemen.

Famine, starvation, unemployment, torture, abuse, and lack of freedom and democracy in their birth country force them to migrate to Yemen, one of the poorest countries in the world. In order to survive, a Christian in Yemen has to convert to Islam or be alienated.

The consequences of not converting can be felt in both life — and death. If an Ethiopian Christian maintains their religion, after death the Yemeni government will not permit them to be buried in Sana’a. The deceased’s name has to be changed (for a fee) to an Islam name by a known Muslim Ethiopian who has good contact with Yemeni officials.

Mr. Imran and Hajji Ahmed are Muslim Ethiopians who have been living in Yemen for more than 20 years. Both are married to half cast Yemenis (in Arabic they are known as Muweleds). They earn a living from Ethiopian refugees in Yemen by processing documents and getting licenses for burial.

Since they have lived in Yemen for many years, they say they understand the behavior of Yemenis when it comes to money. They are also close relatives of Tofick Abdullahi Ahemed, the Ambassador of the Ethiopian Embassy in Yemen. The Ambassador believes that Christianity should not be acknowledged in Yemen.

The Ethiopian Orthodox Church and two Ethiopian Protestant Churches in Yemen are now claiming the Embassy and the ruling faction in Ethiopia do nothing to solve the violence they are experiencing in Yemen.

Meanwhile, the Embassy says its main objective is promoting trade, investment and tourism.

Naturally, it is disheartening to see that Ethiopians in Yemen have unequal status and are denied their human dignity for whatever reason. They are not seeking amnesty, they are just seeking to live in peace and establish an address and an identity at this time and age.

For centuries, Ethiopians have welcomed Yemeni refugees fleeing, for various reasons, to Ethiopia. Political oppression and economic hardships have been the driving forces for migration from Yemen to Ethiopia. These two factors and the hospitality of the Ethiopian peoples have created the cultural bridges between Ethiopia and Yemen.

Even today, Yemenis live and work in Ethiopia, and many of the first and second generations of immigrant Yemenis have been granted Ethiopian citizenship for centuries. They are free to live and practice their Islamic religion freely.

In the 7th Century, Islam had a chance to learn its history and respect for fundamental human rights outside Arabia by moving to Ethiopia rather than anywhere else. This is a distinction given to this great nation by the Muslim Prophet – who invoked the name of Ethiopia as “the land of justice where no-one would be oppressed.” How would an Ethiopian who is proud of his history as the “Land of the just” be denied living his/her Christian faith?

Yemen and South Arabia were once part of the mighty Ethiopian Axumite Empire. The blood of Yemeni and Ethiopian nations are already mixed, their culture is identical and their affinity goes back into thousand years of history from the Queen of Sheba on and down to today. Very few Yemenis dare to draw the line between these two peoples. Even the Red Sea loses its meaning and international marks when it comes to the historical and familial connections between the Ethiopians and Yemenis.

Despite the current hardship and mighty challenges Ethiopia face, it is still a great nation, and its people deserve better treatment. Justice for the Ethiopian refuges in Yemen is overdue. Any cover-up reason to deny peaceful people the right to live among the Yemenis is unacceptable and it is only right to be grateful for the Ethiopian people who gave much to Yemen at its time of need. Much is expected from those who receive.

For the Ethiopians, it is a matter of choice and their fundamental human rights to live and practice their Christian faith as free as possible on God’s earth. The lack of ideological will and gratitude to the Ethiopian people who are denied recognition and protection at the time of their needs, shows that those who do not learn from history are condemned to repeat its past mistakes.

Guaranteeing refugees the right to live freeing as human beings and the right to practice their preferred faith is a higher moral obligation than any other act of charity, and gratitude is an important cultural and religious quality.

History will judge, God will judge the Yemenis and the whole Arab nation by what they do now to the people of Ethiopia. (addisethiopia, July 18, 2009)

Yemen At War: Is The World Catching On To Saudi Arabia’s Crimes?

Yemen has entered the third year of a conflict that has claimed well over 10,000 people, saw millions of civilians displaced, and endangered the lives of countless communities across the country.

For all intents and purposes Yemen has been decimated by a military onslaught of gargantuan proportion – one of the poorest nations on the planet versus an alliance of several superpowers. Western capitals have bought themselves several dark chapters in the history books … how they will be remembered, and one may hope judged, will very much depend on how they proceed moving forward.

There are still crimes the world will not stomach without offering resistance. Resistance as it were, is what has animated Yemen for the past two years, and pushed a nation on the brink, to manifest a movement that saw the bending of the might of imperialism.

In this military embrace, Yemen’s rights to think itself sovereign and independent were forfeited so that Saudi Arabia’s hegemonic folly could be quenched. But no matter, Yemen’s story has yet to be written. It would not be the first time a minority came to overpower the multitude majority, Alexander the Great comes to mind.

Let us remember here that it was the kingdom that unilaterally chose to invade Yemen’s skies, and from the comfort of its war rooms rain death on unsuspecting civilians.

However loudly Riyadh will posit that Yemen’s war is righteous and fair, reason … and hopefully decency, dictate we frown before the slaughtering of a nation whose crime was to argue democratic reforms at the court of a tyrant.

Yemen was earmarked for utter annihilation for it dared speak political self-determination in the face of Saudi Arabia’s grand Wahhabist complex – that monster Western capitals insist on turning a blind eye to so that money could flow freely to its coffers.

I recall how back in September 2015, only five months into this conflict the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) rung the alarm and compared Yemen to Syria – in hindsight I would say that the parallel was uncanny. “In just five months, the country is crumbling into a ‘Syria-level crisis,” read a statement.

After all, like Syria, Yemen has been the victim of wholesale terrorism; only in the case of Yemen, terror was rationalized by the arm that bore it – Saudi Arabia. I will remind readers that slapping a flag and a national anthem on fascism – if we can label Wahhabism under such term, does not legitimize its ideology.

A country interrupted by war, famine, abject poverty and altogether despair, Yemen forever remains the one bleeding scar in the Middle East few media have dared shine a light onto for fear of challenging Saudi Arabia’s media blackout.

It is impossible today to look upon Yemen and pretend that abominable war crimes have not been perpetrated in all impunity. I would personally argue, like many others that impunity in this particular case should be understood as a euphemism for amoral cover-up.

Soraya Sepahpour Ulrich, an independent researcher and author from Irvine, California, put it quite brilliantly in her interview with Tasnim News agency this March when she noted: “What is undeniable is the fact that those who ‘promote human rights’ are the perpetrators of the most heinous crimes, including the genocide in Yemen. To deny their complicity is to deny humanity.

Iran’s Ally Launched Two Long Range Giant Missiles Which Nearly Hit Mecca Revealing That Mecca’s End Is Near

Posted by addisethiopia / አዲስ ኢትዮጵያ on September 3, 2016

7db1cc2f87

The Yemeni Shiite Houthis have always wanted to send a long suppository to Saudi Arabia and so they developed scuds, Volcano 1, range 800 kilometers. Not only did they develop it, but they fired a couple of these babies just a few hours ago.

Target? Saudi Arabia’s Fahd Air Base, near Mecca. See map below “Mecca” then see “King Fahad Air Base”. The scuds missed Mecca by a hair.

As it happens, Allah missed the target, he did not hit America, he missed the Jews by a long shot, and he landed it, not that far from Mecca, Allah’s House (Bait Allah).

His favorite vacation home, the Kaaba, after Karbala, was missed by a few miles.

Today they even released the photos of these two giant suppositories.

Scuds are not that accurate. However, the Houthis are perfecting the rocket, succeeding in gaining the range to hit the heart of Saudi Arabia. The Shiite Yemenis are not threatening to use these scuds; THEY ARE LAUNCHING THEM as you witnessed from the video. The problem is that a scud does not have a smart eye. When this is ironed out, which they will do, one could guess where these suppositories will end up. Iran says that Karbala is Allah’s favorite vacation house, not Mecca, which Allah will penetrate with a scud, someday soon, as a last one night-stand with the veiled Burqa dressed Kaaba.

Do these experts ever look at the maps above and see just how a close call can ignite not just a regional war, between Persia and Babylon, but the whole of the Muslim world?

Or perhaps they can counter, that a Babylonian versus Persian wars is all ancient history. If so, why does it still continue, even today between Arabia and Iran? If the skeptic who says that God does not exist, all they need to do is to disprove Him by stoping the repetition of this history that is well etched in scripture.

According to Josephus, John the Baptist was not beheaded in Jordan but in Arabia. This is significant. Eventually Arabia will pay the price for the Baptist and it will not be pretty.

(Psalms 137-8-9)

Daughter Babylon, doomed to destruction,

happy is the one who repays you

according to what you have done to us.

Happy is the one who seizes your infants

and dashes them against the rocks.

God’s vendettas are a lot longer term that the Arab or the Persian. God will have both Shiites and Sufis turn on the Wahhabists. From an Islamic perspective Jalal al-Din Rumi, by far the most prestigious sufi scholar in Islam’s entire history, explained how Mecca (the Kiblah in Islam) will be no more the direction of prayers to Muslims:

the Light of Allah to face the wall of the prayer niche (direction of prayer) has assuredly turned his back on Mecca, since God’s Light is the soul of the Kiblah[the Ka’bah] (Rumi, Service done for God is proof of divine favor, in The Complete Discourses of Jalal al-Din Rumi, discourse 3, p. 17, ed. Louis Rogers)

This is quite telling; what its saying is that the Muslim leader becomes the Kiblah, or the person to whom Muslims would pray towards him. Therefore, a Muslim leader, a Caliph can declare that he is the light of God, and Muslims from all over the world will pray towards him; he will become the new Kiblah, with the multitudes of Muslims praying to his direction.

If the anti-Trinity Muslim skeptic insists that Allah is the true God, why has he failed to protect his own house, the Kaaba, which was hit twice in history with catapult and bombs, and soon it will be thrice.

We, the Christians, are unlike the Muslim. We have the ability to speak in tongues; Greek, Arabic … we sing “Al-Maseeh Qam min baynil-amwat” (Christ risen from the dead).

You see Mr. Muslim, He defeated death by death “Wati-a Al-Mawta bit-Mawt”, and gave life for those in the grave “Wa-Wahaba Al-Hayata lilatheena fil-Qubur”.

How can one defeat death with death? These are the mysteries of God which Allah can never do since Allah is the causer of death. Try to figure that one out.

Yemen Gun Attack: 6 Ethiopians Among 16 Dead in Retirement Home Run by Catholic Nuns in Aden

Posted by addisethiopia / አዲስ ኢትዮጵያ on March 4, 2016

EthioYemenUnidentified gunmen stormed a retirement home run by Catholic nuns in the southern city of Aden on Friday shooting 16 people to death, including 4 Indian nuns, Yemeni security officials and witnesses said.

Two gunmen surrounded the home for the elderly in Aden while another four fighters entered the building, witnesses and officials said. They said the gunmen moved from room to room, handcuffing the victims before shooting them in the head.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak to the press.

One nun who survived and was rescued by locals said that she hid inside a fridge in a store room after hearing a Yemeni guard shouting “run, run.”

Khaled Haidar told The Associated Press that he counted sixteen bodies, including that of his brother, Radwan. All had been shot in the head and were handcuffed. He said that in addition to the four Indian nuns, six Ethiopians, one Yemeni cook, and Yemeni guards were among those killed.

The Egziabher Lord Sends Them Out Warning Signals – But They Continue Troubling Ethiopia

Posted by addisethiopia / አዲስ ኢትዮጵያ on November 8, 2015

ARAB COALITION EXPANDS INTO THE HORN OF AFRICA

The Emirati Armed Forces has started to use actively the Eritrean ports. According to our information, at least, three landing craft belonging to the United Arab Emirates were docked in the port of Assab on September 16.

A diplomatic row between Djibouti and UAE took precedence of these developments. On 28 April the UAE consulate in Djibouti was closed after the altercation between Wahib Moussa Kalinleh, the commander of the Djibouti Air Force, and Ali Al Shihi, Vice Consul of the UAE. Indeed, it was the a formal reason of the departure of the Gulf Cooperation Council troops based on a plot of land that Djibouti had put at its disposal in Haramous in early April to set up its military base. Then Saudi Arabia and UAE redirected their efforts aimed to build a military base on Eritrea.

In turn Eritrea will likely seek to expand its relationships beyond the region in an attempt to break its isolation in the region. Djibouti and Ethiopia have been trying to turn it into a regional rogue state through the African Union. So, from Eritrea’s perspective, accepting Saudi and Emirati cash and resources would be a logical move. Indeed, Eritrea is ready to accept cash and resources from anybody who is ready to provide them.

There was a time when Eritrea supported Yemen’s Houthi fighters and functioned as a transshipment location for Iranian supplies heading to them. Thus, the Saudi and Emirati attempt to involve a new member state into their coalition has 3 goals.

First is to prevent contacts among Eritrea, Iran and Houthi. It will reduce Iran’s possibility to provide supplies to its allies in Yemen.

Second is to use the port of Assab as a local logistics hub, situated relatively close to the conflict. Given the distances that must be traveled over sea to get to Aden from Sudan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates, the port of Assab is located at a vantage ground.

Third is Saudi Arabia will be able to turn Eritrea into a tool to destabilize the situation in Ethiopia. It’s possible through the monoethnic communities of Ogaden and Oromo controlled by Eritrea. The Ethiopian government is conducting a rough anti-Saudi politics and, de facto, destroying all pro-Saudi Islamist entities.

Alternatively, a recent U.N. report claimed that 400 Eritrean soldiers were deployed to Aden to support the Saudi-led coalition. The Emirati vessels in Assab could either transport the Eritrean troops or ferry equipment and supplies to the Eritrean troops already in Yemen. Assab is becoming a point on the Saudi-led coalition’s main supply route.

In any case, the Saudi and Emirati presence in Eritrea won’t be limited by the Yemeni conflict’s length. According to unconfirmed reports, the UAE took on lease Assab for 30 years. Separately, the UAE is seeking to take on lease a former naval base in Berbera in Somaliland. Thus, the Emirati activity in Eritea is a first step in a big plan to establish a naval base network at the Horn of Africa’s coast.

A Forest of Crosses And Names of Martyrs in The Desert of Saudi Arabia

Posted by addisethiopia / አዲስ ኢትዮጵያ on May 20, 2015

And Babylon, the beauty of kingdoms, the glory of the Chaldeans’ pride, Will be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. 20It will never be inhabited or lived in from generation to generation; Nor will the Arab pitch his tent there, Nor will shepherds make their flocks lie down there“ [Isaiah 13:19-20]

Babylon-Mecca-666

A Franco-Saudi archaeological team is responsible for the discovery. Prof Frédéric Imbert dated the graffiti to 470-475, a time when anti-Christian persecution began, culminating under the usurper Yusuf. Even the Qur’an refers to it indirectly. The findings show how far Christianity had spread at the time, until the arrival of Islam.

A forest of crosses engraved in the rocks of the desert of Saudi Arabia is a sign of the presence of a vibrant Christian community around the fifth century AD.

Unearthed by a Saudi-French archaeological team, the graffiti include inscriptions with a number of biblical and Christian names, perhaps those of martyrs killed during a wave of persecution in the fifth century.

L’Orient-Le Jour reported that Prof Frédéric Imbert, a professor at the University of Aix-Marseille and a member of the team, presented his findings at a conference at the American University of Beirut on the rock engravings of Jabal Kawkab (“Star Mountain”), in Najran, southern Saudi Arabia.

The area is called Bi’r Hima or Abar Hima, names “that refer to places with wells known since ancient times.” According to Imbert, an epigrapher, the area is located on the route “that connected Yemen to Najran” where caravans could be resupplied in water.

Inscriptions were found with crosses, scattered over a one-square kilometre. Some inscriptions appear to be in a local version of Aramaic, a pre-Islamic form of Arabic, Nabataean-Arabic to be more precise.

The inscriptions have been dated to the reign of Shurihbil Yakkuf, who controlled southern Arabia in 470-475. The persecution of Christians appears to have started under his rule.

It is interesting to note that the names Marthad and Rabi were found inscribed on the crosses. Both are on the list of martyrs of Najran, in the so-called Book of Himyarites.

In order to understand crosses and rock inscriptions, it is necessary to know that back in the 3rd century AD, southern Arabia was ruled by the Ḥimyarite dynasty, which lasted for about 150 years.

In order to maintain its neutrality between the two great powers of the time, the Byzantine and Persian empires, its kings chose Judaism as their religion.

However, Christianity began to spread in Arabia in the fourth century. By “the sixth century, it reached the Gulf region, Najran and the Yemen coast”.

The missionary activities of Christians from Iran’s Sassanid Empire and Monophysite Christians from Syria hostile to the Council of Chalcedon (on Christ’s dual nature) favoured the spread of Christianity. Two Syriac bishops, probably from what is now Iraq, were consecrated in 485 and 519.

Later, Yusuf (Dhu Nuwas) seized power in the Kingdom of Ḥimyar, ordering the massacre of Christians in Najran, an event reported in several Christian chronicles, with a reference even in the Qur’an, in Shura Al-Burūj (The Celestial Stations).

When Christian survivors sent an appeal to Khaleb, King of Ethiopia, he organised a military expedition to rescue the persecuted. Yusuf’s army was defeated and the usurper himself was killed. A Christian kingdom was established in Arabia, as an Ethiopian protectorate, until it was conquered by Islam.

For Frédéric Imbert, the crosses and the inscriptions are “the oldest book of the Arabs,” written “on desert stones,” a “page of Arab and Christian history”.

My Note: So, Monotheism, or faith in One God was not first introduced to the Arab tribes  — as Muslims claim by Mohammed, rather 600 / 2000 years prior to Islam by Jews and Christians. They just betrayed The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to claim another god to smear their desert sand with the blood of Jews and Christians.

A thoughtful commentator wrote the following:

“I keep wondering just how much more we’d know about both Jewish/ Hebrew/ Israelite history, and the history of Christianity, including the canonical texts of both groups, if Islam had never been invented. Just how many records – priceless torah scrolls and all sorts of other things – and early manuscripts or even (who knows?) original manuscripts of things like the Christian gospels – were destroyed in the initial jihad assaults or in all the pogroms, synagogue and church burnings, pillagings, sackings of villages, towns and cities (with concomitant destruction of reliigious communities and their libraries and of private or school libraries) that went on , and on, and on, subsequent to that initial conquest? The real miracle is that *anything* of the pre-islamic artefacts and written documents has survived at all. And the same goes for India, in spades; how much more would we know about their deep history and their ideas and literature, if Muslims had never invaded and destroyed all those temples and cities and places like the University of Nalanda?

The Ten Muslim Nation Confederacy – The Same Ten Nation Confederacy Spoken By Prophet Daniel?

Posted by addisethiopia / አዲስ ኢትዮጵያ on March 30, 2015

This war is no longer a war about Yemen, but a formation of a Sunni coalition they call it Al-Tahaluf Al-A’shari, literally the Ten Nation Confederacy which the media in English calls Ten Sunni-led Arab states.

In response to U.S. abandonment of Saudi Arabia and a response to Iran’s threat to the region, the Sunni Muslim world has risen to form a major unified force. The Coalition never informed the U.S. of its actions in Yemen fearing the U.S. is flirting with Iran.

Caricature of this new alliance is shown in the Arab media as a right-arm fist portruding out of the earth with the mark “There is No God But Allah and Muhammad Is His Messenger” the flag, badge and emblem of Islam stemming from Saudi Arabia. It is the pride of Muslims to mark their right arms and foreheads with the mark of Islam. It also reminds of Daniel 4 which speaks of Babylon leaving the tree stump of its roots in the earth, bound with a band of iron and bronze while re-arising, not in ancient Babel in Iraq, but in Dumma, Kedar and Arabia as Isaiah 21 prophesied prior to God’s final judgment “Babylon is fallen is fallen” (Isaiah 21:9, Revelation 18:1-2, Revelation 14:8) in which Iran will finally give it a death blow.

One wonders is this what the Bible speaks of, the ten horns representing ten kings, and all is left, is an eleventh, a little horn which comes up among them who is the Antichrist (Daniel 7:8, 11)?

One must admit, the temptation to make such declarations can arise as we see the events unfold on daily basis, but let the wise increase in patience which is the wisdom in not rushing to conclusion. The bronze nails in Daniel 7:19 points to a Grecian, not European entity. And with its teeth of iron and its nails of bronze (Daniel 7:19), there are ten nails and only time will tell if 20 to 30 other states (iron teeth) joins the ten nation confederacy under this umbrella. And we have additions, foreign ministers from 22 Arab countries agreed to form a unified military force on Thursday, approving a draft resolution designed to counter growing security threats in the region.

Is what we see a prelude to something greater, or if Erdogan of Turkey becomes more active in this confederacy, or if even this confederacy grows to be some fulfillment, is very interesting, but only time will tell. “Its nails of bronze” must be alluding to the correlation of the ten toes to the Grecian Empire. This is deduced because bronze as is accepted by biblical scholars represents Greece which today is Asia Minor. Revelation 17 also speaks of the ten kings will be joined by another king—an eleventh (the little horn)—who is the Antichrist, the ruler over the entire fourth kingdom (Daniel 7:8, 11).

Mecca is what drives this ten nation confederacy in Yemen, is the latest front in a growing regional contest for power with Iran that is also playing out in Syria, where Tehran backs Assad’s government, and Iraq, where Iranian-backed Shiite militias are playing a major role in fighting.

And this confederacy, as it seems, means business. Al Arabiya reported a massive 150,000 Saudi ground troops have been mobilized along with fighter jets and naval units, as part of the move codenamed, “Operation Decisive Storm.” Egyptian TV reportedly said that the Arab League will coordinate with the chiefs of staff of the various Arab nations’ armies to organize the new Ten Nation Confederacy force within one month. Egyptian officials also announced that a ground invasion of Yemen will follow the airstrikes. This, including a naval blockade has been imposed by the Saudi ship Asifat Al-Hazm (Firm Storm) on a strait that connects the Red Sea to the Arabian Sea and the Indian Ocean, and provides passage to the Mediterranean Sea. The strait is used by Egypt, Sudan, Jordan, Yemen, Djibouti and Saudi Arabia, among other nations.

Four Egyptian vessels were spotted en route to secure the Gulf of Aden, off the city where President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi was based out of after leaving the capital city of Sanaa, and before being forced to flee the country. Both Sudan and Morocco announced that this war is in defense of their beloved Mecca. The Sunni Alliance fears Shiite talk of shift from Mecca to Karbala. Any harm on Saudi Arabia means to harm Islam’s Qibla, the direction to the image, the meteor in Mecca which over a billion Muslim prostrate towards daily.

And such support for this Sunni coalition is not only by secularists, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the largest body of Islamic states, affirmed its support for the deal and the ten state confederacy.

Iran’s rise to power, forced the Arab world to respond to the unprecedented threats on multiple fronts in Yemen, Iraq, Libya and Syria, all of which are in end-times context biblically. In Yemen (biblical Teman) Houthi militants believed to have Iranian backing have taken over large swathes of the country including its official capital. In Libya (also becomes part of a future league in Ezekiel 30,38) a civil war is raging between a government that controls the capital of Tripoli, and the internationally recognized government — aided by Arab and Egyptian airstrikes — based out of the city of Tobruk. In Syria (see Isaiah 17) a civil war has raged on for four years between President Bashar Assad’s government, which is backed by Iran (biblical Persia), and loose coalitions of militants, as well as ISIS which has taken over significant portions of Iraq and Syria, has expanded into Libya, and has been drawing membership from across the Islamic world, recently gaining the loyalty of Nigerian Boko Haram and claiming responsibility for a deadly terror attack in Tunisia.

There is no doubt that a shift and confederacy buildup has happened, but for it to be the final culmination, Persia, its enemy must ally with Turkey despite the Shiite Sunni divide which will later unravel again on the Mountains of Israel. This healing is unlikely to happen until a false peace treaty is first established. It is then that the focus shifts by both Sunni and Shiite coalition towards the persecution of both the Church and Jerusalem which will exclude some Arab states: “And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.” (Revelation 12:3). In Ezekiel 38, both Persia as well as Meshech and Tubal (Asia Minor Turkey) are involved as well as Libya and Egypt (Ezekiel 30) in a “league”.

The beginning embryo and realization that such states can unite is already made firm, but for a seven year peace deal, there needs to be turmoil, which we are witnessing on a daily basis already. This military power will force the Houthis to accept a resolution within days or weeks. This will take Iran back to the drawing board as Russia will play the peace maker. And while Iran harbors its hate, eventually, both Sunni and Shiites will realize that the warring has no end and one sinister plan will be devised to unite the fractured Muslim world which sees the turmoil lasting seven years beginning in 2011 at the rise of the Arab Spring. Such unity cannot happen unless a scapegoat is found: Israel. As the days come, the Middle East is realizing, why is Sunni killing Shiite while Jerusalem remains “un-liberated”? This is the outcry currently on the streets of the Muslim world, and if the devil would make a statement it would be: “for not killing Jews, ISIS I hated”.

Air Strike at Yemeni Refugee Camp Kills 45

Posted by addisethiopia / አዲስ ኢትዮጵያ on March 30, 2015

TheHornAn air strike at a camp for displaced people and refugees in Houthi-controlled northern Yemen on Monday killed 45 people and wounded 65, the International Organization for Migration said.

The strike hit the vicinity of the Mazraq refugee camp in northern Yemen, spokesman Joel Millman said, citing IOM staff at the scene. He said it was not immediately clear how many of the casualties were civilians or armed personnel.

A Saudi-led coalition was bombing Yemen for a fifth day on Monday to try to weaken the Iranian-allied Houthi militia and allied military units.

The air attacks have also targeted their southward advance on the port city of Aden, the last bastion of the Saudi-backed president, Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

Another humanitarian official said earlier that the strike had hit a truck full of Houthi militiamen at the gate to the camp, killing nine residents, two camp guards and an unknown number of fighters.

The Houthi-controlled Defence Ministry had said on its website that 40 people, including women and children, had been killed and another 250 people had been wounded.

Saudi officials were not immediately available for comment.

Mazraq, in the province of Hajja next to the Saudi border, is a cluster of camps home to thousands of Yemenis displaced by over a decade of wars between the Houthis and the Yemeni state, as well as East African migrants.
