In March, Secretary Antony Blinken made a landmark announcement, declaring that all parties involved in the conflict in northern Ethiopia had committed war crimes. The Ethiopian National Defense Forces, Eritrean Defense Forces, and Amhara forces were specifically implicated in crimes against humanity, including murder, rape, sexual violence, and persecution. 💭 ዩጋንዳ ግብረ ሰዶማውያንን አገደች – አሁን ለዩጋንዳ ዛቻና ማስፈራሪያዎችን ወዲያው የላከው የባቢሎን አሜሪካ ፕሬዝደንት ጆ ባይድን በኡጋንዳ ወጣቶች ላይ እስላማዊ ቁጣውን በማውጣት ፵፪/ 42 ተማሪዎችን ለመጨፍጨፍ በቃ።

ከኢስላሚክ ስቴት ቡድን (አይኤስ) ጋር ግንኙነት ያላቸው የሙስሊም አማፂያን በምእራብ ዩጋንዳ በሚገኝ ሁለተኛ ደረጃ ትምህርት ቤት ላይ ጥቃት በመሰንዘር ቢያንስ ፵፪/42 ሰዎችን ሲገደሉ፣ አብዛኞቹ ተማሪዎች ነበሩ።

የሟቾቹ አስከሬን በኡጋንዳ ባለስልጣናት በድንበር ከተማ ምፖንድዌ ከሚገኘው ሉቢሪሃ ሁለተኛ ደረጃ ትምህርት ቤት አርብ ምሽት ላይ የደረሰውን ጥቃት ተከትሎ ተገኝቷል።

ለዓመታት ከመኖሪያ ቤታቸው በተረጋጋ ምስራቃዊ ኮንጎ ጥቃት ሲሰነዝሩ የነበሩት ‘የተባበሩት ዴሞክራሲያዊ ኃይሎች’/Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) አማፅያን በወቅቱ የመጭታ ዶርማቸው ውስጥ የነበሩ ፴፱/39 ተማሪዎችን መግደላቸውን ፖሊስ ገልጿል።

በካሴሴ ድንበር አካባቢ የሚገኘውን ትምህርት ቤት ውስጥ ሽጉጥ እና ገጀራ የያዙ ታጣቂዎች ከወረሩ በኋላ የተወሰኑት በእሳት ተቃጥለው ሌሎች ደግሞ በጥይት ተደብድበው ወይም ተቆራርጠው ተገድለው ሲሉ የአካባቢው ከንቲባ ለአሶሼትድ ፕሬስ ተናግረዋል።

💭 Muslim rebels linked to the Islamic State Group (IS) attacked a secondary school in western Uganda, killing at least 42 people, most of them students.

The bodies have been recovered by Ugandan authorities from Lhubiriha Secondary School in the border town of Mpondwe, following the attack on Friday night.

Police say the rebels from the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), who have been launching attacks for years from their bases in volatile eastern Congo, killed 39 students who were in their dormitories at the time.

Some were burned beyond recognition and others were shot or hacked to death after militants armed with guns and machetes raided the school in the frontier district of Kasese, a local mayor told The Associated Press.

Mayor Selevest Mapoze also said those killed included one guard and two members of the local community who were shot outside of the school.
