In a sign of those ties, just as Azerbaijan was driving home its victory, U.K. energy giant BP sent a senior delegation — including chair of the board Helge Lund and former CEO Lord Browne — to Baku to celebrate the centenary of the birth of former President Heydar Aliyev, father of current Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, and to cement a “long-term partnership” with Baku.

A very sad sense of abandonment grips our mountainous Cristian Armenian brothers and sisters, just exactly like other mountainous ancient folks like, the Orthodox Christians of Serbians, The Axumite Christians of Tigray, Ethiopia and the Buddhist Tibetans of China:

„Nobody is Helping us, not the Armenian government, not Russia, not the world„

While Azerbaijan is firmly supported by Israel, regional powerhouse Turkey and other Muslim nations, Western leaders, particularly in Europe, are reticent to directly confront Azerbaijan over its offensive, not least because they have courted Baku for years in pursuit of natural gas deals — a quest that has only become more critical since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Apostate Anti-Christian Europeans chose Muslim Azeri/Turks over Orthodox Christian Russia. And Russia remains opportunistic.

In this book, Edwin Black talked about the 1928 agreement signed by a consortium of oil companies that created a Western-controlled oil cartel in the Middle East which he argues is the root of decades-long struggle over power and energy supplies. He talked about the role of petroleum in the creation of Iran, Iraq, and other countries in the Middle East and in U.S. foreign policy.
