Mystery surrounds objects shot down by US military

US military officials say they are unsure how three unidentified flying objects shot out of the skies of North America had been able to stay aloft.

President Joe Biden ordered another object – the fourth in total this month – to be downed on Sunday.

As it was traveling at 20,000ft (6,100m), it could have interfered with commercial air traffic, the US said.

A military commander said it could be a “gaseous type of balloon” or “some type of a propulsion system”.

He added he could not rule out that the objects were extra-terrestrials.

🛑 A mystery object described by one local news outlet as a “UFO” has been shot down in the southern Russian region of Rostov.

Vasily Golubev, the governor of Rostov oblast, wrote on Telegram that a “small-size object in the shape of a ball” had been discovered flying “in the wind” at an altitude of around one and a half miles on January 3. With the object spotted above the village of Sultan Sala in the region’s Myasnikovsky district, Golubev said “the decision was taken to liquidate it.”

“I urge everyone to remain calm. To ensure security, all forces and means are involved. The sky is covered with anti-aircraft defenses,” he added, without specifying what the object was.

In reporting his comments, local news outlet Pivyet Rostov carried a headline that said “a UFO in the form of a ball was shot down in the sky.”

Telegram channels that night described how air defense systems in Rostov had been operating. The channel Ostorozhna, Novosti (Caution, News) published a video showing a shining object flying and then exploding in the sky.

“Look, another one has gone,” someone is heard saying in the clip, which was captioned, “another video of the work of Rostov regional air defenses.” A witness told the channel how “there was a very strong explosion” and that “everything in the house shook. We realized that the air defenses were in operation.”

Newsweek has contacted the governor’s office for further comment.

Rostov borders the Sea of Azov, which is connected to the Black Sea by the Strait of Kerch, a strategic location for both sides of the war in Ukraine. Since the start of Vladimir Putin’s invasion, the oblast near Ukraine has been subjected to regular shelling and drone attacks.

In October, Rostov was named as one of six Russian regions and two annexed regions in which Putin introduced a “medium-response level” to the threats posed by the war. This includes restrictions on movement and strengthening public order measures.

He also announced a “maximum response”—effectively martial law—on the four regions he claimed to have annexed but does not fully control; Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk and Luhansk.

Ethiopia Demands UK Return Pillaged Treasure Taken 150 Years Ago (DEBATE)

Ethiopia is calling for the return of valuable artefacts plundered by British forces 150 years ago. The East African treasures are currently on display at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.

The country has demanded that all of the looted antiquities be sent back to Ethiopia on a permanent basis, refusing an offer of a long-term loan by the V&A Museum.

Among the treasures are a gold crown and chalice seized by British forces during the Battle of Maqdala in 1868 after troops ransacked the fortress of Emperor Tewodros II. The items were sold to raise money for the British military and were first exhibited in 1872.

The V&A announced in February it was staging an exhibition with the looted treasure, reigniting the diplomatic row. Addis Ababa first requested the artefacts back in 2007, according to Ethiopian Minister of Culture and Tourism Hirut Woldemariam.

Tristram Hunt, director of the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A), says the exhibition was organized in consultation with the Ethiopian community in London and remains “committed to continuing the important and wide-ranging dialogue with colleagues at the Ethiopian Embassy in London.”

The issue remains a bone of contention between the two nations, as commentators from both sides outlined to RT.

British broadcaster Jon Gaunt pointed to Iraq and Syria where antiquities have been looted by ISIS, suggesting unstable nations like Ethiopia can not be tasked with looking after their own treasures.

This argument was refuted by Ethiopian political commentator Awol Allo, blasting it as “condescending” and a “colonial narrative.” Allo said people should be able to visit Ethiopia and see the national treasures there.

I would punch that brit right between its beard and his eyes. These are thief eyes, on what ground is UK entitled to keep stolen goods. Oh, it was 200 years ago, but as everybody know stolen goods are still stolen, even after 2000 years, so they should be returned with apologies.

Residents of a western Kazakhstan town reported that they witnessed two silver objects fall from the sky on Wednesday night.

“It was at about 3AM. I was standing by my tractor when the guys started shouting: ‘Look, there are some balls flying.’ They were big and sparkling with Green, Yellow and Red,” an eyewitness told Interfax news agency over the phone.

According to the witnesses, the spherical objects were approximately 60 cm in diameter, had a silvery surface with what appeared to be a small opening. The UFOs failed to bend or dent when local residents attempted to strike them with their tools, and said the balls produced sparks when they attempted to do so.

A preliminary investigation has failed to identify the strange objects, but according to head of the local emergencies service Aleksandr Ivanov, they are most likely “fragments of a man-made aircraft.”

He also noted that the region where the two spherical objects were discovered has no history of similar incidences.

“Objects fall on the areas bordering the Russian military test range Kapustin Yar, but here it’s a rare thing. I’d say it’s a first,” he said.

The balls were found to pose no immediate threat to public health or the environment and were sent for further research to “a specialized organization.”

Halo of Red, Gold and Green

On April 13, 2008, a Halo of Red, Gold and Green colors hanging around the sun startled people in Ethiopia, with many seeing it as a miracle or a sign from God.

According to scientists, this unheard of ring of red, gold and green light was supposedly caused by sunlight refracted by ice crystals. It hung in the sky around the sun for almost an hour before it finally faded and disappeared.

The colors of the Ethiopian flag are red, gold and green.

Some Ethiopians say, similar Halo last appeared in 1991. Ethiopia celebrated the millennium (the year 2000) according to its ancient calendar on September 11 2007.

It is believed that this Ethiopian millennium is indeed the real millennium touch stone given that Roman Catholic Popes including Pope Gregory had changed the original Julian calendar (derived from the original Egyptian/Ethiopian calendar) by adding 6 years and 9 months to it.

Many expect that the new millennium will change the negative system which has controlled life on earth dating from the last two millennial.

Many followers of the Ethiopian Orthodox Church who had gathered to welcome the visiting Patriarch of Alexandria, Pope Shenouda, viewed the phenomenon as a miracle, or at least a sign of a blessing from God.

The highest authorities of the church itself appears to support the interpretation placed on the event by lay members. Pope Shenouda, the head/Patriarch of the Coptic Orthodox Church which is closely affiliated with the Ethiopian Orthodox Church believed it was a signal from above.

“We accept any sign from God to encourage us in our way,” he said, “and confirm that we are going right in our way.”

Abuna Paulos, the Patriarch of Ethiopian Orthodox Church, gave thanks to God for the heavenly signs.

“If God reveals himself from the sky,” he told a press conference, “we believers do not get surprised. We only rejoice and double our efforts to thank God. Thank you, God, for revealing a sign.”

Many spiritualists in Ethiopia and abroad also consider this most unusual of astronomical events to be something significant, given the timing of the year, given the numerous prophesies of the old, and especially given the hallowed importance of Ethiopia as the birth place of humanity.

Even the ever wonderful Beyoncé who went to Ethiopia for the Millennium celebrations, and who had been given a warm reception by the Patriarch of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church, is singing her current hit “Halo”, louder than the rest.

These occurrences are certainly very special and significant signs. So, what could happen on Planet Earth in the days, months and years to come? Will Jesus Christ appear again in Ethiopia to rule the earth for the next millennial amidst a flare of red, gold and green colors?
