🛑 An asteroid which entered the earth’s atmosphere in the early hours of this morning, Monday February 13, has been captured on camera lighting up the sky over Southern England and France.
The one-metre asteroid – named Sar2667 was seen shortly before 3am as it exploded over the English Channel.
The explosion occurred as it entered the Earth’s atmosphere and it was visible from across most of southern Englandf and Wales, and as far south as Paris.
For only the seventh time ever, scientists were able to predict when and where the airburst would happen, after spotting its approach just hours before.
“Can’t believe I actually caught it. Wow!” the caption accompanying the video said.
The ESA tweeted that Sar2667 was expected to “safely” strike the Earth’s atmosphere over northern France shortly before 4 a.m. local time (3 a.m. local time in England).
“This is just the seventh time an #asteroidimpact has ever been predicted before it happens.” the ESA tweeted. “A sign of the rapid advancements in global asteroid detection capabilities!”
👉 What Are Asteroids?
Asteroids are rocky remnants left over from the early formation of our solar system about 4.6 billion years ago, Nasa says. The current known asteroid count is 1,266,098.
The majority are orbiting the Sun between Mars and Jupiter within the main asteroid belt. They range in size from Vesta – the largest at about 329 miles in diameter – to bodies that are less than 33ft across.
The total mass of all the asteroids combined is less than that of Earth’s Moon.
Jupiter’s immense gravity and rare close counters with other objects can change their orbits, knocking them out of the main belt into space, occasionally towards other planets.
Scientists continuously monitor Earth-crossing asteroids – those whose paths intersect our orbit – using radar.
By reflecting transmitted signals off an asteroid, images and other information can be derived from the echoes, enabling scientists to learn about its orbit, rotation, size, shape, and metal concentration.

Small objects frequently collide with Earth, many of them so tiny no one even notices as they burn up when they enter Earth’s atmosphere.
Researchers have found that asteroids with a 1km diameter strike Earth every 500,000 years on average. Large collisions – with 5km objects – happen approximately once every 20 million years.
The last known impact of an object of 10km or more in diameter was the Chicxulub asteroid that killed off the dinosaurs 66 million years ago.
In 1985, six crew-members on board the Soviet Salyut-7 space station witnessed something incredible:
A flash of bright light blinded all the cosmonauts on board for a short time. After a few seconds when they could see again, the cosmonauts saw silhouettes of seven figures outside the station.
The silhouettes looked like humans, but were huge, at least 90 feet. They also had large wings and luminous halos above their heads, the creatures looked like angels.
They were glowing, they reported…
“We were truly overwhelmed.”
“There was a great orange light, and through it we could see the figures of seven Angels.”
“The entire Space Station became filled with a feeling of peace and calm”
“These glorious beings were sent by God to watch over us during our long mission”
The Angels kept pace with the space station for some 10-minutes before vanishing.
Although the “official” chronicling of this event is fraught with chronological inconsistencies, but, by the best estimations, the first reported sighting of these so-called “celestial beings” — which would also come to be known as “space angels” — occurred on July 12, 1984.
Cosmonauts Leonid Kizim, Vladimir Solovyov and cardiologist Oleg Atkov were on their astonishing 155th day aboard the Salyut 7, conducting “medical experiments,” when the trio noticed what they described as an “brilliant orange cloud” surrounding the station.
The Salyut 7 had been plagued by a steady stream of system failures and the men aboard the craft were understandably concerned that the glow might represent a life threatening fire. Fearing the worst, the cosmonauts rushed to the portholes only to find themselves blinded by an eerily intense luminescence the poured in through the circular apertures.
After their vision adjusted to the light, the curious cosmonauts radioed ground control that the station was bathed in an anomalous, self illuminated mist. The men returned to the portholes, shielding their eyes from the radiance, and that’s when they spied something so incredible that it would forever alter their perception of reality.
According to reports published in newspapers across the globe — including, allegedly, the Washington Post — the three Russian explorers saw colossal, winged, humanoid entities hovering just outside the station in the vacuum of space.
The faces of these beings were said to resemble those of humans with “peaceful expressions” and the Soviet scientists even claimed that the creatures noticed them and offered distinctly beatific smiles.
This quote was published in the later newspaper reports, although it’s difficult to discern which cosmonaut it was credited to, though some have suggested it may have been Solovyov:
“What we saw were seven giant figures in the form of humans, but with wings and mist-like halos as in the classic depiction of angels.”
The cosmonauts went on to described these mist haloed beings as being nearly 80-feet in height with a wingspan comparable to that of a 747 jet; although, it should be noted, that there’s no indication in the public record of how these men of science came to these proportional estimations. The men observed the soaring seraphim for approximately 10-minutes before they vanished; leaving the isolated and surely perplexed comrades to ponder what it was that they had seen and try to gather the courage to report it to their superiors below.
By their own admission, the cosmonauts were themselves reluctant to accept the existence of the oddly angelic beings which they had seen, and concluded that they were more likely suffering from some form of mass delusion brought on by their extended space travel than an actual encounter with alien — or perhaps even divine — entities. Their self induced denial would be put to the test 11-days later when additional cosmonauts arrived at the station and the celestial beings returned.

The top ten “scientific” projects threatening the survival of the human race right now:
Scientists switch mouse’s genes off and on with radio waves
Some laboratory mice were given specially engineered insuling-producing genes. These genes were then remotely activated using radio waves. This could mean a whole new field of medical procedures in which we turn genes on and off at will.
This breakthrough is the work of geneticists at New York’s Rockefeller University. It’s a pretty circuitous path from the initial burst of radio waves to the activation of the gene, and there’s still a lot of refinement and improvement that needs to be made before this can be used in medical treatments, but still – we’re talking about the ability to modify the behavior of genes without ever going inside a patient’s body. That’s a potentially colossal advance.
DNA-Destroying Chip Being Embedded Into Mobile Phones
According to Dr. Boian Alexandrov at the Center for Nonlinear Studies at Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico, terahertz (THz) waves destroy human DNA. The waves literally unzip the helix strand. Now a team of technologists at UT Dallas are planning to take chips broadcasting THz waves and embed them into mobile phones for use as an imaging system for consumers, law enforcement and medical personnel… a potentially deadly technology that could eventually kill or sicken millions of people.
The controversial THz scanner technology used by the TSA at many of the nation’s airports is being adapted for cell phone use. Studies of terahertz radiation have caused experts to raise alarms over the significant health risks to humans.
UK aid helps to fund forced sterilisation of India’s poor
Money from the Department for International Development has helped pay for a controversial programme that has led to miscarriages and even deaths after botched operations.
Tens of millions of pounds of UK aid money have been spent on a programme that has forcibly sterilised Indian women and men, the Observer has learned. Many have died as a result of botched operations, while others have been left bleeding and in agony. A number of pregnant women selected for sterilisation suffered miscarriages and lost their babies.
Real-world beaming: The risk of avatar and robot crime
First it was the telephone, then web cameras and Skype, now remote “presence” is about to take another big step forward – raising some urgent legal and ethical questions.
Beaming, of a kind, is no longer pure science fiction. It is the name of an international project funded by the European Commission to investigate how a person can visit a remote location via the internet and feel fully immersed in the new environment.
The visitor may be embodied as an avatar or a robot, interacting with real people.
Could beaming increase the risk of sexual harassment or even virtual rape? That is one of many ethical questions that the beaming project is considering, along with the technical challenges.
Law researcher Ray Purdy says you might get a new type of cyber crime, where lovers have consensual sexual contact via beaming and a hacker hijacks the man’s avatar to have virtual sex with the woman.

What’s going on in Africa?
Local police spokeswoman Zura Ganyana said Wednesday that 51 students between the ages of 7 and 16 were injured Tuesday. She said the teacher who died was visiting the Runyanya primary school, about 160 miles (some 260 kilometers) west of Uganda’s capital.
Zombo education official John Ojobi says another school 200 miles (some 320 kilometers) northwest of Kampala was also hit by lightning Tuesday, injuring 37 students and two teachers.
Meteorology experts say school buildings are being hit because they don’t have lightning conductors and are built on high ground.
In the past few weeks, lightning strikes around the country have killed at least 38 people.
Local media reported that a further 21 pupils were burned after lightning struck at a second school in Zombo district, around 380 kilometres north of Kampala. Police could not confirm the incident.
Ms Nabakooba could not provide an exact figure for the total number killed by lightning in recent weeks, but local newspaper The Daily Monitor reported a total of 28 killed and scores injured in the past week, including Tuesday’s incidents.

Eleven people were killed by lightning in two communities in northern Nigeria during torrential rains, Red Cross and local officials said Wednesday.
Eight peasant farmers were killed and another 12 injured on Tuesday during a thunderstorm outside Balanga village in Gombe State.
We see it, we hear it, we feel it, yet, we know nothing about it
The Mystery of Lightning
As common as lightning is, it still sparks considerable confusion among scientists.
Many of the basics are understood, but researchers admit they don’t really understand how lightning gets from there to here. And they’re totally baffled by lightning’s link to X-rays, a discovery made back in 2001.
“Nobody understands how lightning makes X-rays,” says Martin Uman, a professor of electrical and computer engineering at the University of Florida. “Despite reaching temperatures five times hotter than the surface of the sun, the temperature of lightning is still thousands of times too cold to account for the X-rays observed.”
That said, Uman added, “It’s obviously happening. And we have put limits on how it’s happening and where it’s happening.”
In new research, Uman and colleagues have taken a step forward in their understanding:
As lightning comes down from a cloud, it moves in steps, each 30 to 160 feet long. In this “step leader” process, X-rays shoot out just below each step millionths of a second after the step completes, the researchers learned.
The finding, based on lightning created in a lab and detailed online this week in the journal Geophysical Research Letters, could eventually lead to better predictions of lightning.
“A spark that begins inside a thunderstorm somehow manages to travel many miles to the ground, where it can hurt people and damage property,” said Uman’s colleague Joseph Dwyer, a professor in the department of physics and space sciences at Florida Institute of Technology. “Now, for the first time, we can actually detect lightning moving toward the ground using X-rays. So just as medical X-rays provide doctors with a clearer view inside patients, X-rays allow us to probe parts of the lightning that are otherwise very difficult to measure.”
But challenges remain.
“From a practical point of view, if we are going to ever be able to predict when and where lightning will strike, we need to first understand how lightning moves from one place to the other,” Dwyer said. “At present, we do not have a good handle on this. X-rays are giving us a close-up view of what is happening inside the lightning as it moves.”
The lab research will continue, and one thing they want to look into: whether lightning strikes to airplanes could produce X-rays harmful to passengers.

Lightning, Thunder and Rain
In ancient times, most religious scripture taught that lightning bolts were missiles thrown in anger by their gods.9 In China, Taoist scripture regarded the rainbow as a deadly rain dragon.10 In Confucius scripture, the goddess of lightning, Tien Mu, flashed light on intended victims to enable Lei Kung, the god of thunder to launch his deadly bolts accurately.11
Since rain is so necessary to life, ancient people pondered what caused it. Some tried to stab holes in the clouds with spears. The Vedas (Hindu scripture) advised to tie a frog with its mouth open to the right tree and say the right words and rain would fall.
Our Bible also talks about rain, lightning and storms. But it contains none of these superstitious ideas found in the other so- called scriptures. The Judeo-Christian Bible taught that earth’s weather followed rules and cycles. Genesis 8:22. “While the earth remaineth, seed time and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”
Job stated (28:26): “God made decrees [rules] for the rain. And He set a way for the lightning of the thunder:” Centuries later, scientists began to discern the “rules for the rain” that Job talked about. Rainfall is part of a process called the water cycle. Here’s how the cycle works. The sun evaporates water from the ocean. That water vapor rises and becomes clouds. This water in the clouds falls back to earth as rain, collects in streams and rivers and makes its way back to the ocean. That process repeats itself again and again.
About 300 years ago, Galileo discovered this cycle. But amazingly the Scriptures described this cycle centuries before. The prophet Amos (9:6) wrote that God “calls for the water of the sea. He pours them out on the land.” How did Amos know this? He wrote as he was moved by the Spirit of God.
Actually, scientists are just beginning to fully understand God’s “decrees or rules for the rain.” Since 68 BC it was thought that somehow thunder triggered the rainfall. Now scientists are beginning to realize that as stated in Job 28:26, it is lightning that triggers the rain to fall. Job knew this 3,000 years ago. Certainly his writings were inspired of God (2 Peter 1:21).

The Holy Spirit led the apostle Philip to be a faithful and trustworthy guide to an Ethiopian, who was struggling to understand a difficult messianic Scripture in the Old Testament.
“Philip ran up and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet, and said, ‘Do you understand what you are reading?’ And he said, ‘Well, how could I, unless someone guides me?’ ” (Acts 8:30, 31)
Beginning from that prophetic Scripture in Isaiah, Philip “preached Jesus to him.” (Acts 8:35). The last book of the Bible is titled “The Revelation of Jesus Christ.”
When we read this Revelation, as Philip asked, do we understand what we are reading?
It is understandable that many are curious, especially in scientific circles, for instance, of the relationship the Vatican has to the Hubble Space Telescope. In order to understand this, you must first understand something that occurred with the Soviet Cosmonauts in the Salyut 7 that orbited the earth in 1985. This is a rather hushed secret that has been leaked to the west, but that the Vatican has been sitting on for years now.
The six atheist Soviet Cosmonauts in 1985 saw “celestial beings” on the 155th day aboard their orbiting space station. This was first reported by Cosmonaut Vladimir Solevev and Oleg Atkov as well as Leonid Kizim. This is what they said, “What we saw were seven giant figures in the form of humans, but with wings and mist-like halos as in the classic depiction of angels.”
As the Cosmonauts were performing medical experiments in Salyut 7 high above the earth, a brilliant orange cloud enveloped them, blinding them temporarily, and when their eyes cleared, they saw the angels.
The heavenly visitors, they said, followed them for about 10 minutes and vanished as suddenly as they had appeared. However, 12 days later, Cosmonauts Svetlana Savitskaya, Igor Volk, and Vladimir Dzhanibevok, who had just joined the others on the space station, also saw the beings. “They were glowing,” they reported. “We were truly overwhelmed. There was a great orange light, and through it, we could see the figures of seven angels. They were smiling as though they shared a glorious secret, but within a few minutes, they were gone, and we never saw them again.”
Now, Doctors, keep the above in abeyance as we discuss the second thing. But first, keep in mind the crux of the matter: what is the Vatican connection. Then, I will bring this all together for you.
As you know, the Hubble Telescope has been operating for a while. One of the things that certain officials or scientists connected to/or in your government are not telling you, and that the Vatican now knows, also, and has known longer than the United States Government, the Soviet Government, and the French Government, is that the Hubble Telescope in space has sent back the pictures of ethereal beings, bathed in this orange glow seen by the occupants of Salyut 7.
These “angels,” according to scientists and astronomers, would cause a world panic and confusion because the Vatican knows that they–AND HERE’S THE VATICAN CONNECTION–are truly, “beings of light.” But, these computer enhanced images have convinced scientists and astronomers alike that they are real, live angels. The Vatican’s interest in the Hubble Space Telescope is that these beings are real, are being seen, but they are not the benign, friendly angels watching over us that the scientists think they are.
Scientists first thought they were a newly discovered star cluster because of the magnitude and brilliance of their colors. It became obvious, with the computer enhanced pictures, “that these were creatures we were seeing,” according to one scientist at NASA. They–now get this–were, “a group of 7 angels flying together,” in the NGC-3532, three-billion-year-old star cluster.
The scientists showed these pictures to the Vatican, and there were, “seven giant figures. All had wings and mist-like halos,” reports one engineer. “They were about 80 feet tall and had wing-spans as large as airplanes. Their faces were round and peaceful, and they were all beaming. It seemed like they were overjoyed at being photographed by the Hubble Telescope. They seemed to be smiling at each other as if they were letting the rest of the universe in on a glorious secret.”
NASA finally revealed to the Vatican that this was not the first time such a thing has occurred through the Hubble Telescope. In the Souz 8 mission a few years back, after 120 days into the mission, Soviet cosmonauts of that flight also encountered similar smiling angels.
The Vatican’s interest, as they have told the three governments in secret meetings above, is that these “angels” are truly those that are assuming the guise of an “angel of light” as spoken of by the Apostle Paul. The figure “7” represents the 7 churches of Asia and their problems that will soon come upon us. It also represents The Seven Periods of the Church, of which we are now into the Fifth Period. This is the bad period, the period of pain, suffering, and destruction. The Period to follow, the Sixth Period, will be a period of consolation.
Pope John Paul II is well apprised and advised of the above and has been for some time. He feels that we will see UFOs landing soon across the world. He further feels that these are not the benevolent beings they have been made out to be.
Rev 8:2: “And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and to them were given seven trumpets. Each angel releases judgment as the trumpet is blown.”
Now, could the 7th Angel of the Book Of Revelation be “Eta Carinae”?
Modern science tells us that behind the angelic wings of Eta Carinae is the brightest light in the universe that no one could look upon.
One scientist said the following about Eta Carinae:
“Occasionally something happens in astronomy that is so bewildering that it makes astronomers nervous.
This is weird, we don’t understand.
There are 6,000 stars in the universe visible to the naked eye. We understand them all with the exception of Eta Carinae. There is no explanation for it.”
As it’s known, Eta Carinae has the wings of an Angel, and the Book of Revelation is speaking of an astronomical event when it speaks of the 7th Angel, and the event is probably fulfilled by the astronomical appearance to us of Eta Carina.
You see behind those cosmic wings is the brightest light in the universe. The wings cover the light that no man could look upon and live. They spread over that light as the angelic wings spread over the mercy seat.
Described as something weird and something that science did not understand. Such power beyond anything that could be conceived.
The word ETA is the 7th letter in the Greek alphabet and originally in Greek meant 7
The Bible connects the 7 angels and the 7th seal and the Book of Life to the Son of David.
Every December, the editors of Science face the challenge of reviewing what Science has accomplished around the world in the past 12 months, so as to select our “breakthroughs of the year.” The task is an invigorating one, providing a powerful reminder of both the enormous scope and the continual advance of science. For this year’s selections, the range is staggering. From the discovery of pulsars created by neutron stars that are many thousands of light-years distant, to the production of a new single-atom–thick material such as graphene, the same natural laws and logic have generated new understandings over a more than 1030-fold difference in scale. And there is usually special excitement when an advance directly concerns humans, as in the discovery of an ancient ancestor or a successful application of gene therapy to cure disease.
This year’s selection for the Breakthrough of the Year is the reconstruction of the 4.4-million-year-old Ardipithecus ramidus skeleton and her environs, published in Science as a major series of 11 articles in October. This choice does not come easily, given the distaste of our editors for self-promotion. But this work changes the way we think about early human evolution, and it represents the culmination of 15 years of highly collaborative research. Remarkably, 47 scientists of diverse expertise from nine nations joined in a painstaking analysis of the 150,000 specimens of fossilized animals and plants.
The 11 Ardipithecus papers, requiring 89 pages of text plus 295 pages of supporting online material, provide an enormous amount of data for scientists around the world to reexamine. As described on p. 1598 in the current issue, some of those scientists are certain to challenge some of the findings, as further advances are built on those already published. With time, we will come to understand much more, and some current conclusions will probably be modified. This is both to be expected and hoped for: Science can only advance as a highly collaborative global endeavor, through which new knowledge improves on old knowledge based on logic and confirmable evidence.
Science’s list of the nine other groundbreaking achievements from 2009 follows.
2. Pulsars Detected by Fermi: NASA’s Fermi Gamma-Ray Space Telescope helped to identify previously unknown pulsars—highly magnetized and rapidly rotating neutron stars—and shed light onto their unique gamma-ray emissions.
3. Rapamycin: Researchers found that tinkering with a key signaling pathway produces life-extending benefits in mice—the first such result ever achieved in mammals. The discovery was particularly remarkable because the treatment did not start until the mice were middle-aged.
4. Graphene: In a string of rapid-fire advances, materials scientists probed the properties of graphene—highly conductive sheets of carbon atoms—and started fashioning the material into experimental electronic devices.
5. Plant ABA Receptors: Solving the structure of a critical molecule that helps plants survive during droughts may help scientists design new ways to protect crops against prolonged dry periods, potentially improving crop yields worldwide and aiding biofuel production on marginal lands.
6. LCLS at SLAC: SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory unveiled the world’s first x-ray laser, a powerful research tool capable of taking snapshots of chemical reactions in progress, altering the electronic structures of materials, and myriad other experiments spanning a wide range of scientific fields.
7. Gene Therapy Comeback: European and U.S. researchers made progress in treating a fatal brain disease, inherited blindness, and a severe immune disorder by developing new strategies involving gene therapy.
8. Monopoles: In an experimental coup, physicists working with strange crystalline materials called spin ices created magnetic ripples that model the predicted behavior of “magnetic monopoles,” or fundamental particles with only one magnetic pole.
9. LCROSS Finds Water on the Moon: In October, sensors aboard a NASA spacecraft detected water vapor and ice in the debris from a spent rocket stage that researchers deliberately crashed near the south pole of the Moon.
10. Hubble Repair: In May, a nearly flawless final repair mission by space-shuttle astronauts gave the Hubble Space Telescope sharper vision and a new lease on life, resulting in its most spectacular images yet.
