Christians Forced to Hide Their Faith From ‘Abusive’ Muslim Refugees

CHRISTIAN refugees have been forced to hide their faith from Muslim refugees who bully them over their religion.

According to German newspaper Zeit a number of refugees in Hamburg said they feel unsafe and fear for their safety because of their faith.

Dena Kasravi, a Christian convert from Iran, spent years attending illegal bible groups in her homeland but after making her way to Germany said she still lives in fear.

The 33-year-old said: “If they find out, I will be fair game. Everyone will have the right to destroy me. Some Muslims even think it is their obligation.

“I can’t get rid of the fear.”

Miss Kasravi’s name has been changed and other Christian refugees say they are repeatedly verbally attacked by Muslim refugees.

One young Iranian woman said a Syrian man questions her every day about why she does not wear a headscarf and cover herself up.

Security guards at refugee camps in Hamburg have reportedly told the Christian residents to keep their faith a secret, claiming they cannot protect them if their secret is revealed.

Miss Kasravi and two dozen refugees have set up a secret church at the camp but none of them wear a cross or reads the Bible in front of the Muslim refugees.

The group are unable to escape questioning, particularly during Ramadan where every Muslim at the camp was asked to sign a list if they were taking part.

An Iraqi man questioned Miss Kasravi about why her name wasn’t on the list.

The 33-year-old was forced to lie and pretend she was not allowed to fast due to a thyroid problem.

Only Armenians and Assyrians are permitted to practise Christianity in Iran.

All other Christian activity is forbidden with 108 Christians arrested for attending underground churches in the Islamic republic in the last year.

According to Zeit the number of Christians has increased in Hamburg with Iranian Christians able to seek asylum in Germany to escape persecution in Iran.

One refugee, who did not wish to be named, said: “The denouncing of your faith is heavily punished in Iran. Therefore converting to another religion was one of the few reasons Iranians would get asylum in Germany.”

The Alpha and Omega International Church said last year they had about 250 members in Hamburg, now they have 450, with up to ten new people attending mass each week.

Concerns have been raised that desperate refugees are converting just to improve their chances of being granted asylum.

Dietlind Jochims, Commissioner for Refugees of the North Church, said: “It would be naive to think that people do not grasp at any straw that might give them a better chance to stay, but it’s not up to clerics to test the strength of someone’s faith.”

But despite a surge in refugees attending church, Stefan Heße, archbishop of Hamburg, said the church can take up to a year before deciding to baptise someone.

Asylum officials are also trained to ask questions about religion and expect converts to be able to explain fully why they converted and what it means to them.

Miss Kasravi’s experience comes in the wake of a study that found Christian refugees, particularly converts from Islam to Christianity, have been attacked, abused or harassed at refugee centres in Germany.

A report from Open Doors, a Christian aid organisation, said more than 80 per cent of Christian refugees had suffered at the hands of Muslims at refugee camps set up to deal with the 1.2million refugees who have arrived in Germany during the last 18 months.

Others claimed the German authorities were not doing enough to protect them.

REPORT: Migrants Burn Down Asylum Centre After Not Receiving Ramadan Wake Up Call

A massive fire at Düsseldorf’s major international trade fair grounds yesterday has been followed by reports that the blaze was set deliberately by migrants who were angry because of Ramadan. 

Officially, some 160 migrants were resident at hall 18 of the Messe Düsseldorf conference centre, but it was a facility plagued by racial conflict which had seen violence spark before. Düsseldorf’s Express newspaper reports these conflicts were not between European German staff and their guests, but between the predominantly Arab residents, and a minority of Afghans who sided with the security staff running the facility — who were mainly Iranian.

According to the testimony of “several burly Moroccan refugees” which the paper had spoken to even as the hall burnt down, the Iranians employed by the German state to look after other migrants from around the world had “deliberately” not woken the Arabs up in time for their Ramadan breakfast following a long run dispute.

Just three weeks ago there had been another, much smaller fire at the exhibition centre as a migrant set fire to his mattress in protest against the accommodation.

Under Islamic tradition, during the ninth month of the Islamic calendar the faithful enter a fast between sunrise and sunset in commemoration of Muhammed. In practice this means sleeping-in leaves the Muslim without food until sunset around half-past-nine at night.

The migrants who witnessed the fire being set, some of which even proudly recorded the moment on their mobile phones said the blaze was started “because we just want to get out of here”, away from their Iranian guards.

Breitbart London reported on the fire as it happened yesterday, with reports of as many as 280 migrants being evacuated from the site, which lies directly next to Düsseldorf’s international airport. Approximately 30 migrants were treated for smoke inhalation, and one of the 70 fire-fighters who turned out to tackle the arson blaze was hospitalised due to heat exhaustion.

There were initially two arrests of migrants that were found at the scene boasting about setting the fire, but this number later rose to six. The men arrested are reported to have been citizens of Morocco, Algeria, Syria and Iraq.

While migrants are commonly employed as security, staff, and translators in migrant camps across Germany, a move which helps the authorities with breaking down language barriers with their hundreds of thousands of guests, it brings a whole set of problems. As migrants import sectarian and racial conflict, placing one group of migrants in a position of power and authority over others has led to widespread abuses and violence.

Breitbart London has reported on the problem of migrant guards, who often lack basic qualifications and any sort of oversight by government agencies as they are employed and run by private contractors. One under-addressed expression of this problem is the attacks and discrimination against Christian refugees by Turkish heritage and Arab migrant guards.

Severe beatings are the order of the day for many Christian migrants in the care of the German state, who have given uniforms and authority to the exact people they fled the Middle East from in the first place. The hospital report of one Christian who was beaten near to death by “Turkish and Arab descent” guards read: “Skull contusion, monocular hematoma right stump chest trauma, blunt abdominal trauma history.

“Patient was today beaten by four security people since a massive headache and pain in the abdomen patient was brought to the A&E”.

Another Christian said: “[the guards] accused me of insulting Islam, beat me to the ground, and kicked me in the face”. A German priest witnessed security guards who caught two Iranians reading the bible in their migrant accommodation. He recalled: “The guards ran into the room shouting ‘the Bible is haram!’, pushed them both against the wall, while punching and kicking them”.

The priest lamented of the situation: “My impression is that now anyone who has a particular muscle circumference and speaks Arabic, will be hired”.

Over 300 Christians Assaulted by Muslims at Refugee Camps in Germany, Report Reveals

No matter where Islam goes it will never have peace with Christians, ever, because peace in Islam only comes from becoming a Muslim.

In yet another low reached by the European Union, Christian refugees- actual refugees fleeing actual Muslim violence in the Middle East- cannot even be safe in the refugee camps because Muslims are harassing, threatening, sexually molesting, and even attacking them in these same camps and almost nobody is helping them.

There have been over 300 incidents of Christians being physically or sexually assaulted by Muslims in refugee camps in Germany, while thousands of other Christians are facing persecution in many different ways, a report has warned.

The German-language report “Religiously Motivated Attacks on Christian Refugees in Germany,” produced by the German branch of persecution watchdog group Open Doors, was released last week, though the The Gatestone Institute provided an analysis on Sunday which broke down the numbers and figures.

The report warns that German authorities and police might be purposefully downplaying such incidents in order to avoid the “taboo” topic of Muslims attacking Christian refugees, keeping in mind the growing anti-immigration sentiments in the country.

Open Doors’ study, based on interviews with 231 Christian refugees conducted between February and April, found that at least 86 Christians reported to have been physically assaulted by Muslim refugees or shelter security staff, and another 70 had received death threats for their faith.

A number of others were subjected to “punches, spitting, pushing and sexual abuse,” and as many as 75 percent of respondents said harassment from Muslims is a “frequent” problem.

Well over a million refugees were welcomed in by Germany in 2015, many of them fleeing the civil war in Syria. Christians are among the majority Muslim refugees, but they have generally been afforded little protection and are forced to live next to the Muslims despite reported dangers.

The report by Open Doors featured several accounts of Christians describing the abuse and hardships they have faced.

One witness said: “In our refugee shelter, the security guards do not enforce the rules. Every morning at 5 a.m. we are woken up to the sound of the adhan. The situation is getting worse. When you complain, they say this is the Muslims’ right. Also, they insult us with impunity. In our shelter, two of my friends have received death threats. Muslims tore a cross chain from his neck. None of us dares to wear a cross anymore.”

Open Doors, which has been calling for the international community to offer more help for minority refugees, said it is “alarming” that German authorities are doing little to protect Christians.

“Despite increased reports about this problem by the media, charities, human rights organizations, church leaders and Christian organizations, German authorities and politicians have hardly ever launched an investigation,” the watchdog group said.

“Instead, we believe that incidents are deliberately downplayed and even covered up. During confidential discussions with researchers from Open Doors, it has become known that even in police stations, religiously motivated attacks on Christian refugees are not documented as such,” it added.

There have been a number of different reports in the past several months documenting Christian persecution in Muslim-dominated refugee camps in Germany beside the Open Doors report. Back in October 2015, a recent convert to Christianity at a camp in Hamburg-Eidelstedt was beaten nearly to death by Muslim refugees, before he was saved by other migrants.

Church of England leaders in the U.K. have also warned that Western policies at refugee camps might overlook the protection that Christians need.

“As countries like the U.K. debate how to deal with the refugee crisis, the Archbishop of Canterbury has said that their policy will discriminate against Christians. The policy takes those who are in camps, but many Christians fearing discriminant, violence, and intimidation have not been willing to enter formal camps that are largely populated by Sunni Muslims,” International Christian Concern said in a statement at the time.
