‘CIA-backed’ Mercenaries Spread HIV in S. Africa, ex-Member Claims
A Sundance documentary ostensibly about the 1961 plane crash which killed then UN Secretary-General, Dag Hammarskjold, contains explosive claims of a conspiracy to spread HIV among South Africa’s black population.
Directed by controversial Danish journalist, filmmaker, and provocateur Mads Brügger, ‘Cold Case Hammarskjold,’ debuted Saturday at the Sundance Film Festival.
It details an investigation into the largely unsolved death of Swedish diplomat and former UN Secretary-General Dag Hammarskjold, whose DC-6 plane crashed near Ndola, Northern Rhodesia (modern Zambia). Initial investigations identified the cause as pilot error or mere mechanical fault, though doubts have persisted in the 50+ years since the crash.
Throughout the course of the new documentary, Brügger and his team investigate a white militia, the South African Institute for Maritime Research (SAIMR). According to documents the filmmakers uncovered, the group operated with support from the CIA and British Intelligence and orchestrated the 1961 plane crash which killed Hammarskjold. The documentarians eventually encounter and interview a man named Alexander Jones who is allegedly a former member of the group.
Jones, who is not related to Alex Jones of InfoWars, claims the mercenary group used phony vaccinations to spread HIV with a view to wiping out the black population of South Africa, in addition to carrying out the Hammarskjold assassination.
“We were at war,” Jones says, as cited by The New York Times. “Black people in South Africa were the enemy.”
However, medical experts have already dismissed Jones’ claims as medically dubious and unscientific in the extreme.
“The probability that they were able to do this is close to zero,” said Dr. Salim S Abdool Karim, the director of Caprisa, an AIDS research center in South Africa, citing the immense resources that would be required to conduct such a far-fetched attempt at genocide.
Notwithstanding the technological limitations of the 1990s, including facilities to rival that of the Centers for disease control and prevention in the US in addition to millions of dollars in funding, HIV is extraordinarily difficult to isolate, transport and grow in a laboratory environment, let alone distribute en masse in a clandestine operation, Dr Abdool explains.
However, Jones claims he visited a research facility in the 1990s that was used for “for sinister experimentation” and that he was certain its intent was“to eradicate black people.”
Many have criticized the filmmakers for helping to sow distrust of the medical establishment in a country that already has one of the highest HIV infection rates in the world while reviving dangerous conspiracy theories that have persisted since the Cold War.
The filmmaker, who has previously been described as a ‘fabulist’ and ‘provocateur’, according to the Hollywood Reporter, admits he has been unable to corroborate Jones’ ever-evolving story; As the documentary makers continued to question Jones, his accounts became more and more dubious as he professed firsthand knowledge of people that had seemingly been brought to his attention by the documentarians themselves.

Many Twitter users say the Planned Parenthood 501(c)4 Black Community account embraced the abortion business’s eugenics roots Tuesday when it advised, “If you’re a Black woman in America, it’s statistically safer to have an abortion than to carry a pregnancy to term or give birth.”
The account, which identifies itself with Planned Parenthood Action Fund, tweeted:

Everywhere we see poverty and large families going hand in hand. Those least fit to carry on the race are increasing most rapidly. People who cannot support their own offspring are encouraged by Church and State to produce large families. Many of the children thus begotten are diseased or feeble minded; many become criminals. The burden of supporting these unwanted types has to be borne by the healthy elements of the nation. Funds that should be used to raise the standard of our civilization are diverted to the maintenance of those who should never have been born.
Despite a philosophy and words that would be condemned in today’s society, Margaret Sanger is still held up as an icon by Planned Parenthood, and her bust is proudly displayed in the Smithsonian Institution’s National Portrait Gallery:

Approximately 59 million abortions have been performed in the country since the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision in 1973, nearly 18 million of them on black babies. As Breitbart News has reported, the pro-abortion rights Alan Guttmacher Institute also provided data showing that about 30 percent of all abortions in the U.S. are performed on black women, with another 25 percent performed on Hispanic women.

The Catalan Dream
As in almost other parts of the world the loudest activists and demostrators that we witnessed in Catalonia are violent people, not peaceful demonstrators. Their tactics and behavior are not different from the Nazi Gestapo, the Russian NKVD, or the Chinese Red Guards.
Thirty years ago these same people were just kids, or teenagers. In the school, they would bully those who did not speak in Catalan in the playground; those who did not like Barça; those who had better marks than them in Catalan language and yet did not support independence. Once in the university, these same people would insult you, attack you with bats, use wood planks to close the access to your students’ union office, disturb classes throwing desks to the students and threatening teachers who did not support independence, or kicking people out of events you organized that did not support their views.
Supporters of independence are not different from Chinese people brainwashed by nationalism. They also believe in their own Catalan Dream, and dream of their own Greater Catalonia formed by regions that never belonged to them. But just like China, those in the government who have brainwashed the people do not want independence: they just want to keep sucking the money of those useful idiots who, year after year, believe in the promises of an upcoming independence. Independence will never come, for it would mean the end of Catalonia’s political elite.
How amazing! The same diabolic thing happening with separatists movements in Ethiopia, the Ukraine, ex-Yugoslavia and some other Christian countries. Is the angry anti-Christ attempting to punish the Spanish people who in the past fought to rid the Iberian Peninsula of Muslim Moors – in the same way it’s punishing Ethiopia for being as a bulwark of Christianity against a Muslim tide? I think there is some connection there!
After Declaring Catalonian Independence From Spain, Carles Puigdemont Flees To Belgium And Is Now Being Protected By Major Nazi Elites
Carles Puigdemont, the president of Catalonia who declared Catalan independence from Spain, has now fled to Brussels and is under the protection of Flemish nationalists who, in reality, are just nazis who want to separate Flanders from Belgium. Puigdemont fled to Belgium, according to reports, to flee Spanish authority which has charged him with sedition.
Spanish reports state that Carles Puigdemont is in Brussels surrounded by loyal members of his party. One of them is Antoni Comín, a homosexual and a socialist who is vehemently anti-Catholic. So full of hatred is Comin against the Church, that he once said:
“We have to be very indignant with what the Catholic Church does with homosexuality (…) the homophobia practiced by the Church today is a grave sin before God”
Talking like a sodomite Protestant, Comin said that, “as believers we must be courageously critical of what the Church is doing today with homosexuality.” What we are witnessing are the sons of Sodom working to bring the world into chaos and bloodshed. For by trying to break Catalonia from Spain, these insidious people are legitimizing the separatist movements of other European regions, and such fragmentation is a reflection of the rise of nationalism, and when you have nationalism, you have war.
Belgium’s Secretary of State for Asylum and Migration, Theo Francken, a Flemish separatist, defended protecting the Catalan separatists leaders, saying:
“Catalan people who feel politically threatened can ask for asylum in Belgium. That includes President Puigdemont. This is 100 percent legal”
Francken is part of the New Flemish Alliance, a rightwing Flemish separatist party that wants to separate Flanders from Belgium. By protecting Carles Puigdemont, the Flemish are giving credence to his separatist cause, and ultimately, to the agenda of fragmenting Europe. There is a sinister desire behind all of this: and that is to revive Nazism; for by fragmenting Europe, you bring back past European rivalries and spark nationalism, which will of course breed all sorts of evils, such as racism and eugenics.
That the political establishment in Brussels is protecting Puigdemont, reveals the reality that there are forces within the EU who want to cause just enough fragmentation and instability to end the status quo and justify militarism.
Its very simple: fragment the established order, and you have chaos, and chaos can only breed more chaos, and this will only lead to violence. This will only help the Germans. Germany is the wealthiest nation in Europe; if fragmentation intensifies and chaos commences, Germany will use such an situation to justify its own militarism in the name of restoring order. I suspect that there are not a few elites in Brussels who want to see a revival in German militarism. The Flemish separatists in Brussels dominate Belgium politics, which means that they have some serious political leverage in that government.
Many of these Flemish separatists in Brussels are Nazi sympathizers, as we showed in our article on the Catalonian secessionist movement. In 2014, Francken went to the birthday party of Bob Maes, who was a member of the National Socialist Youth Flanders during the reign of the Third Reich, and the founder of the neo-Nazi terrorist organization, Vlaamse Militanten Orde. The current Deputy prime minister and minister of Security and Home Affairs in Belgium, Jon Jambon, a leading member of the New Flemish Alliance, wily expressed his sympathy for Flemish Nazi collaborators by saying: “The people who collaborated with the Germans had their reasons. Me, I was not alive during that time.”
Now some of the Flemish are saying that protecting Carles Puigdemont had nothing to do with their separatist party, the New Flemish Alliance. A spokesperson for the New Flemish Alliance, Joachim Pohlmann, saidthat “in case Mr. Puigdemont is in Brussels, he’s certainly not here at the invitation of the N-VA.” Olivier Van Raemdonck, the spokesperson for Jan Jambon, the interior minister and deputy prime minister of Brussels, said that Jambon was not aware that Puigdemont was coming to Brussels, and said:
“Everyone knows Jan Jambon and the N-VA [New Flemish Alliance] are sympathetic towards the Catalans. But that’s something completely different than sitting down with the man as a member of the federal government”
This is all duplicitous talk. They are playing the same game that all deceivers in politics and media use: acknowledge that you were with said person, but at the same time say that the meeting was not done in the capacity of your position. These Flemish rebels are essentially saying: ‘Yes, we are protecting Puigdemont, but not as part of our political party.’
It means nothing, for the action is still done, and the sinister principle for which the action was done still remains. The Flemish separatists are protecting their fellow separatist. Catalonian separatism has been being, to a great extent, planned out by Flemish agents. As we showed in our article on Catalonia, on January of 2017 there was a major meeting in Brussels to conspire for the cause of Catalan sedition. Around forty members of the European parliament and their aids were present, including the eugenist Helga Stevens, a member of the New Flemish Alliance.
That there was a meeting in the EU parliament to plan for severing Catalonia from Spain, shows that there are very powerful people, within the European Union, who want to fragment Europe. Its all a plan for power; for by breaking down the unity of Europe, what you would be left with is a significant disunity, which will only lead to the strongest nation of Europe, the Germans, using the situation as an occasion for war and militarism. It would not surprise me at all, if the Flemish are conspiring to cause a civil war in Spain to give the opportunity for Germany to militarily invade Spain in the name of intervention and “stability” (similarly to what Turkey is currently doing in Iraq).
The Flemish are acting stupid and pretending that they did not know that Puigdemont was in Brussels. This is impossible. For one, on the 28th of October, when Catalonia declared independence from Spain, there were already reports in Spain that Puigdemont was planning on escaping to Belgium. Spain already knew that Puigdemont was heading towards Belgium. Puigdemont fled to Belgium just a day after Theo Francken said that he can seek refuge in Brussels, which means that the Brussels government knew of an agenda to protect Catalonian separatist leaders. If Brussels knows when terrorists are going through its orders, then they would definitely know when the leader of the Catalonian secessionist movement, Carles Puigdemont, is going through its borders.
Carles Puigdemont and his group drove from Barcelona to Marseille, in France, where they took a plane to Brussels. The French, then, must have known that Puigdemont was in their country and traveling to Brussels. France is an interesting connection. Puigdemont already held a meeting with Jean-Christophe Lagarde, a member of the National Assembly of France and the second president of the Union of Democrats and Independents. Just a few days before declaring independence, Puigdemont also met with Valérie Pécresse, president of the Ile-de-France region, to sign a “cooperation agreement,” as one government report states:
“the Head of the Catalan Government will meet with president of the Regional Council of Île-de-France, Valérie Pécresse, before signing the cooperation agreement that aims to strengthen the political, economic and institutional ties between the two territories. Specifically, the agreement will cover five areas of priority for both institutions, including: biomedical innovation and the pharmaceutical industry, education, urban waste management, the videogames industry and research.”
This is very interesting. Catalonia is the center for pharmaceutical sciences in Spain, and the home of all of the most major pharmaceutical companies in Spain. As we read in one report:
“Within the context of Spain, Catalonia concentrated 47.07% of Spanish pharmaceutical production (2014) and 36.6% of Spanish pharmaceutical exports (2006-2016). Catalonia, as the leading and birthplace region of pharmaceuticals in Spain, is home to the five biggest Spanish pharmaceutical companies: Almirall, Esteve, Ferrer, Grífols and Uriach. … Furthermore many international companies have established here, such as Novartis, Sanofi, Boehringer-Ingelheim, Bayer, Roche, Menarini, Pierre Fabre, BBraun, GE Healthcare, Zoetis, Otsuka, Invent Farma, Intas Pharmaceuticals, AstraZeneca, Synthon or Angelini, to mention just a few. … Catalonia is the leading biotech region in Spain, holding 19.4% of Spanish biotech companies. Amgen, Inkemia, AB-Biotics, Biokit, Salvat, Reig Jofre, Oryzon,Advancell, Gendiag, Readycell, Bionure, Alexion, GP Pharm, Endor or Lipotec are part of the biotech industry in Catalonia.”
Since France made an agreement with Catalonia over pharmaceuticals, and Catalonia is a major biotech center, and the pharmaceutical industry is a major player behind eugenics, and France helped Carles Puigdemont escape to Brussels, is it possible that Catalonian unrest is part of a conspiracy to destabilize Europe devised by biotech companies to then enable Germany to rise again and execute a eugenist plan, which would then allow the pharmaceutical industry to carry out evil experiments? Knowing the history that Germany has with pharmaceutical companies (such as IG Farben) to carry out human experiments for the cause of eugenics, this would not be far fetched to imagine. We will work on another article on this subject.
In the Brussels EU parliament on January of 2017, EU parliamentarians, including Flemish separatist Helga Stevens and Calvinist Hungarian separatist Laszlo Tokes, planned for a Catalonian secessionist revolt. Ten years before this, In the Brussel parliament, in 2007, a Flemish separatist named Filip DeWinter, led the Counterjihad Summit, making the Counterjihad into an official movement. Invited to the meeting were numerous Counterjihad figures, such as Robert Spencer, and Pamela Geller who, just a few days ago, said that it was a mistake for Germany to renounce German nationalism (even though German nationalism fueled German imperialism in World War One and World War Two). Geller explicitly is in support for German nationalism, as the Jezebel herself said:
“I believe all the wrong lessons were learned after World War Two. I think Europe learned all the wrong lessons. They came away from World War Two with the idea that nationalism was bad; that German nationalism, British nationalism, French nationalism, was bad.”
To this sagging and decrepit witch, German nationalism is good, even though it was German nationalism that slaughtered Jewish people and that did the largest anti-Jewish genocide in history. This is because people like Geller are “of the synagogue of Satan, who say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie.” (Revelation 3:9) And Geller’s little sycophant, Robert Spencer, is another scammer who devises evil for gain, hence why he promotes homosexual literature.
The breakdown of Europe is part of a conspiracy to enable Germany to return back to militarism and nationalism. If the EU breaks down, the most powerful nation in Europe, Germany, will take the opportunity to revive German militarism in the name of ‘stability.’ As long as Germany remains possessed by the spirit of Luther, it will always go to the warpath. In World War One, Lutheran German nationalism fueled Germanic imperialism.
Protestantism is so rooted in the political essence of Germany, that till this day Luther is used for populist movements. For example, the rising Alternative for Germany party (AfD) presents posters with Luther’s portrait adjacent to his infamous words: Here I stand, I cannot do otherwise (Hier steje ich und kann nicht anders), alongside the slogan: “Courage to Truth” (Mut zur Wahrheit):
And yet Geller loves the AfD, the German nationalists. In the heart of Germany’s vision of supremacy, one will find Luther’s name engrained. Adolf Deissman, who was amongst Germany’s leading Protestant theologians during the First World War, unequivocally placed Luther as an inseparable pillar holding up German militarism. In 1914, Deissman wrote down the points of ideology which German Protestants had to follow. It was entitled: “The War and Religion” and in it he proclaimed the diabolical equation of Christianity with German supremacy. He wrote:
“The war has steeled our religion … We Germans can’t believe in anything else but a German God.”
Deissman also said:
“Our present religion is natural and German, and we preach a German God! A German, a national God!”
In Deissman, do we find the Darwinist sentiment of “might makes right,” for he said:
“I am proud to preach the religion of might and what our enemies call barbarism.”
As we see this type of rhetoric increase, so will the nearness of Wisdom 2 which quotes the wicked as saying: “let our strength be the law of justice: for that which is feeble, is found to be nothing worth.” (Wisdom 2:11)
The words of Deissman were being said before World War Two and before Nazism. This means that German imperialism is rooted not in Nazism, but in something deeper, and that is the anti-Christian spirit. Nazism was simply a symptom to a deeper disease, and that is the spirit of Antichrist.
Nazism is coming back, and it is the separatists, the nationalists, the eugenists, NATO and the CIA, and Counterjihad agents, who are making this happen.
If it was all really for “Flemish independence,” then why are all of these Flemish separatists conspiring to help Catalonian separatists and Northern Italian separatists? Because it is not just about Catalonia or Northern Italy, or Belgium, it is about destabilizing all of Europe, and ultimately, the world, a bloody conflagration that will bring in a bloodbath to the earth.

Over One in Five German Residents Come from a Foreign Background
A newly released report has shown the true extent of the impact of mass migration on Germany as 18.6 million residents, over one-in-five of the total population, now come from foreign backgrounds.
The statistics come from the German Federal Statistical Office’s new yearbook for 2017 which finally shows the extent of demographic change that many Germans have assumed for years. The figures also show a huge divergence between the west of the country and the east with some areas in the west having up to 30 per cent foreign background residents, Die Weltreports.
The region with the most foreign background residents is Bremen with 30.5 per cent of the population coming from a non-German background. The regions in the east are diametrically different, averaging only 6.4 per cent with Thuringia the lowest at just six per cent.
An estimated 4.3 million non-German residents come from European Union countries and live and work under the open borders Schengen agreement. Poles are the largest single EU citizen group with a total of 783,000 Polish citizens living in the country.
The single largest nationality among the 18.6 million foreign residents are those of a Turkish background at 15 per cent of the total.
Turks in Germany have made their presence known in large numbers over the past year with tens of thousands demonstrating to support Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan following the failed coup last year and the presidential referendum earlier this year.
In 2015, the migrant crisis led to an explosion of population growth for Germany as the statistics show that Syrians became the largest group of migrants at 326,379 followed by Romanians at 212,182.
The change has also been much tougher on the German economy as statistics show that most EU citizens move to the country for work while the unemployment rate for asylum seekers and other migrants who came during the migrant crisis has been gigantic.
The issue has led some economists to warn that over the long term, mass migration will be harmful to the growth of the German economy.
My Note: Europe is transforming before our very eyes. Whatever it once was, it is rapidly changing. Children of Esau are united with children of Ishmael.
Pay attention to the current statistics and those from the last couple of years, as they clearly show that Italians, Bulgarians, Polish, Romanians (Edomites / Esau) plus Turks, Syrians,Albanians and Afghans (Ishmaelites) are a grand majority of the “foreign background”, yet, the European authorities and their media continue fearmongering the relatively non-existent African refugees.

Are A Million African Migrants Really On Their Way To Europe?

Hard evidence on irregular migration in North Africa is a much sought after commodity; unfortunately, it is also highly unreliable. In its December 2016 assessment of the situation in Libya, the International Organisation for Migration estimated (IOM) that 425,000 internally displaced persons were resident in Libya and that “hundreds of thousands” were displaced into neighbouring countries.Experienced researchers tend to be sceptical of official statistics on migrants for good reasons. North Africa is both a destination and a transit region for sub-Saharan migrants. It is also extremely difficult to count migrants because migration tends to be clandestine, with people moving through politically unstable regions.
Further problems with official reports and comments such as those by Joseph Walker-Cousins are that they tend to focus on Libya (and fail to look at the wider regional picture). Findings are based on indirect evidence – information from informants, detentions, returns, and arrivals in Europe – not primary research that employs sound methodologies, as fieldwork in Libya is not possible.
Unfortunately, the most likely and most effective barrier to migration – barring an effective policy response from other countries in the region – is death and detention. Thousands of migrants have died transiting the Sahara and tens of thousands are “detained” in North Africa.
While the IOM has been able to access some of the detention facilities in Libya, it has not reported on the number of people detained nor their legal status. While European development agencies are beginning to engage with trans-Saharan migration, very little hard data has emerged from their efforts other than an acknowledgement that conflict and drought in northern Nigeria, Mali, Sudan and the Horn of Africa is pushing people northwards across the Sahara.
Verdict: Are there really a million migrants ready to come?
We simply do not know how many migrants are “in the pipeline”. Nor have regional governments or the European Union agreed a viable strategy for dealing with the underlying processes driving this movement, as opposed to stopping migrants from reaching Europe. We do know two important facts. First, and as noted in the 2016 IOM study, not all sub-Saharan migrants intend to come to Europe. Second, without an accurate assessment of the situation and serious policy dialogue with transit countries, no resolution to this issue is possible.

I agree with the verdict. The story that a million African migrants are ready or in “the pipeline” to reach Europe from Libya is nothing new and Joseph Walker-Cousins’s claim has previously been aired by other variously informed people. It resurfaces periodically in the media (2015, 2016, 2017), but repetition is no proof of validity; rather it is an example of how charts and figures play a significant role in how we understand and debate the so-called refugee crisis.
On the one hand, it encapsulates the power of numbers in firing up public and political debate and sustaining the “crisis mood” that pervades policy responses to boat migration. On the other, it shows the lack of scientific rigour and yet resilience that often characterizes the numbers of the “crisis” that circulate so widely in the global media and among policy makers – impermeable to attempts being made to show how baseless they are.
Refugees: The African Numbers That Put Europe To Shame; It Needs To Think Again
THE current refugee crisis was one of the top items at the UN’s General Assembly this week; on Tuesday, 19 countries announced they are donating $1.8 billion to the top UN aid organizations to help alleviate the suffering of refugees.
The commitment came after UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon told world leaders at the opening of the General Assembly debate that UN humanitarian agencies were “broke.”
In an interview that aired Friday on Good Morning America, Queen Rania of Jordan said that her country needs “assistance from the international community. Jordan is a small country that’s quite resource poor, so it’s really been a major issue for us.”
Jordan has been hit particularly hard by the civil war in Syria, watching a flood of 600,000 refugees come into the country from Syria during the most recent wave of the crisis. Jordan itself has a population of just 6.4 million, so that accounts to nearly 10% of its population.
It’s proportionally even higher for Lebanon, with 1.1 million refugees, 25% of its population of 4.4 million. But wealthier Europe has been sharply divided as to how to deal with the refugee influx – even though it has the resources to support many more migrants than it currently does.
The Panic
There are two big debates in Europe at the moment; one questioning which migrants are refugees (because not all are) and how many of these refugees should be allowed to stay, and in which country.
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) cites that 350,000 migrants were recorded at EU borders between January and August 2015. In the whole of 2014 this number was 280,000.
Breaking this down indicates that in 2014 the average monthly influx of migrants was roughly 23,000 per month, while this year this average increased to about 44,000 – almost double that of last year’s.
The Facts
The European panic, however, needs to be calmed. Looking at the data just from a group of African countries with most refugees on record, one would appreciate just how much the European scare is exaggerated.
The six top refugee destinations in Africa—Ethiopia (659,524), Kenya (551,352), Chad (452,897), Uganda (385,513), Cameroon (264,126) and South Sudan (248,152—hold together 2,561,564 refugees of foreign origin, who are supported in camps around the countries.

The prospect of revolutions throughout Europe, from Spain, to Belgium, to Italy and Romania, is very strong. In the history of Europe, there have been many traitors, those who bring destruction for the cause of their diabolical desires.Today we have the Venetians who want to secede from Italy, and going all the way back to the 16th century, you had Venetians who cared nothing for Christendom, and were more focused on profit than the Catholic Faith. There is a spirit that lies in this mentality, and still it lingers in Venice.
The Venetians, being utterly callous towards the cause of Christendom, secured their commercial interests with the Ottomans, and abandoned Spain which had to fight two enemies at once: the Ottomans in North Africa and the Calvinist Dutch in the European heartland. Here we have the Ottoman Dutch alliance, and we believe the same will be seen in the future.
Belgium consists of a federal government, and there is also a separate government for the French speaking Walloons; a government for the French speakers in Brussels; there is a government for the German speakers, and a government for Belgium’s capital of Brussels. There is also a government for the Dutch speaking region of Flanders, which the Flemish separatists want to sever away and make an independent state. With such a divided country, its like a room filled with gas; all one has to do is throw in the match of division and the fragmentation will start. There is a video from 2010 of Nigel Farage, in the EU parliament building, declaring that Belgium is “not a proper nation,” thus instigating for the fragmentation of this country:
The migration crises was allowed to happen on purpose in order to cause divisions in Europe. The migrant crises altered the political climate in Europe. Ever since the flood of migrants came into Europe, every secessionist and every eugenist came out of the woodworks to take advantage of the situation to promote their own agendas. And it has been working. Nigel Farage and Boris Johnson used the migration crises to push for Brexit. It was the migration crises that stirred up a surge of popularity for Geert Wilders and his Party for Freedom. Wilders and his parties were not that popular before the migrant situation. Now, they are the second largest party in the Dutch parliament where they currently hold twenty seats. Brexit or Geert Wilder’s taking second place in the Dutch elections, would have been unheard of if the migrant crises did not happen.
The fragmentation of a state, or of a body of states, leads to conflict. For example, the formation of Pakistan, and thus the severing of India, led to a bloody conflict between Muslim and Hindu that still lives on today. When the Bohemian Protestants and Hussites wanted to break away from Catholic Christendom, it led to the Battle of White Mountain, which eventually escalated to the Thirty Years’ War, the bloodiest war in Europe’s history before the First and Second World Wars.Small events are not the causers of war, but they simply provide the occasion in which old rivalries can return. Hatred between Europeans has always been in the continent, the question is, what will be the event that will give opportunity for these conflicts and spark the conflagrations that will lead to another world war? We shall wait and see.
Who is behind the Catalan uprising against Spain? This is the real question that not a lot are talking about. What we have, behind this movement, are nationalists, Nazis and socialists.
The beginning of Catalonia’s move towards a referendum has beentraced back to 2003, when parties like the socialist Popular Unity Candidacy, and the Platform for Catalonia came into the political scene in several city councils. Xavier Casals of Ramon Lull University, says that these parties “criticized the system from within, which broke out on the fringes of large formations,” spreading their views to the public. In 2008, DeWinter met with Anglada and Liga Norte, a separatist party that wants Northern Italy to split from Italy.
Catalonia just did its referendum with 90% of voters saying yes to secession from Spain. The president of Catalonia is expected to declare independence on Tuesday. We are currently witnessing the gradual fragmentation of Europe. We are witnessing history, we are seeing the incremental steps to the next world war. When you have the fragmentation of something as big as the European Union, expect war. With Europe divided, the most powerful nation in Europe, Germany, will fill in the power vacuum, that means, it will take advantage of the situation and strike militarily. This is what we have been warning about for nearly two years now, that with the fragmentation will come the restoration of a militarist Germany. This is not an article on just Catalonia, but on the full picture as to what is taking place, focusing on the whole forest as opposed to a single tree. We are seeing the breaking down of Europe. From witnessing the Arab Spring, we are now witnessing the beginning of the Europe Spring. We remember how, in 2011, when the Syrian revolution first began, we at Shoebat.com were telling people that the revolution was evil, in a time when most in the media were praising the revolt. Now, we are doing the same for the revolutions that are taking place in Europe.
Nearly two years ago, Shoebat.com predicted that Catalonia will secede, stating:
There will be splits within states. Today we have Catalonia, which is fighting for its sovereignty from Spain. This is no longer theory but is already in process. In September of 2015, the coalition of regional separatists won in the elections to the regional parliament. (62 places out of 135). In November, the parliament of Catalonia accepted the resolution of independence of Catalonia from Spain (according to the resolution, within 18 months Catalonia will secede from Spain, during this 18 months the necessary government structures of a new state will be created in Catalonia and a new constitution will be written).
This fragmentation will spread chaos like a wildfire. The former Prime Minister of Italy, Enrico Letta, recently said that the situation in Catalonia could spark chaos throughout Europe. Letta said:
“Europe needs a solution and Europe needs to avoid this chaos — chaos can be like a virus and we need to avoid chaos …We were exiting from the main political problems in Europe and now this Catalonian issue risks bringing a new virus and new chaos”
If Catalonia leaves Spain, it will also leave the EU, and the domino effect will hit Europe — both East and West — and it will only be further fragmented. Esteban Gonzalez Pons, an MEP from Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy’s Popular Party, said:
“If today you let Spain break up with Catalonia, a domino effect will follow across the continent. Instead of a Europe of 27, we will have a non-Europe of mini-states”
“A unilateral declaration of independence would amount to a further provocation, which would throw oil on the fire after Sunday’s meaningless referendum”
Philippe Lamberts, a Belgian politician, has said that the threats of revolt coming from Catalonia:
“threaten the spirit of European integration, even more than Brexit”
All of these warnings are just nice ways of saying that with fragmentation, will come war.
Europe is fragmenting, as Christendom once fragmented before the eruption of the Thirty Years War in the 17th century. This is the worst crises that Spain has seen in decades, and the Catalonian separatists just keep on going, ignoring the demands of loyalty coming from the Spanish government. As one German report states:
“So far, the Spanish government has failed miserably. Right now, those Catalans who want independence, alongside the region’s state government, are simply pushing ahead with their plan. The Spanish king has intervened but the conflict still continues to intensify. A unilateral declaration of Catalan independence is only days away. Is that legal? Illegal? The Catalan president could care less.”
The same report ends with a warning: “the Spanish crisis could well become a European crisis.”
This is Syria all over again, but only this time its in Europe, and whatever happens in Europe effects the whole earth. This is why we called it, years ago, the Europe Spring. As Shoebat.com wrote in January of this year:
“In the last few years we have seen the Arab Spring poisoned. Today we see the rising European Spring. It is also being poisoned. This European Spring is not about fighting Islamism as these movements currently deceive, but is all about turning the West into neopaganism, fascism, nazism and antisemitism.”
The Spanish government just released an apology to Catalonian protestors beaten up by Spanish police. This apology will not help to calm the situation. It will only embolden the rebels as they see the apology as a show of weakness. This can be compared to Assad’s attempt to bring peace to his country, when all it did was embolden the forces (the US, NATO and their Sunni allies) that wanted to get rid of him, and who saw Assad’s cordialness as weakness.
The Catalonians are not stopping. They want to declare independence from Spain, and have planned a meeting for Tuesday to make this declaration. Initially, they made the meeting for Monday, but just on Thursday, Spain’s highest court suspended the Catalonian parliament’s Monday’s meeting, in trying to prevent Catalan President Carlos Puigdemont’s expected declaration of independence. But the Catalonians are not backing down. Carme Forcadell, the president of Catalonia’s Parliament, told reporters:
Major companies in Catalonia are already starting to leave. According to one report, “Gas Natural Fenosa and Dogi International Fabrics said Friday they were moving their legal bases from Catalonia’s capital, Barcelona.”
The biggest banks even know that major unrest is on the way. Catalan’s biggest banks are now talking about leaving Catalan in the midst of the referendum to secede from Spain. Spain’s fifth largest bank, Banco Sabadell SA, already confirmed on Thursday that it will be leaving Catalan and resettling in Alicante. The board for CaixaBank SA has already said that it will be leaving Catalonia for Valencia “in light of the current political and social situation in Catalonia.”
This is not for no reason.
If banks are leaving Catalonia, that means they know that secession is going to happen, or at least that major instability is going to commence.
If you want to know the future, just look at the banks. The ones who control the money, control the world.
The idea of breaking nations into regions, or “regionalism,” will be becoming more and more of a headline in the near future. After Brexit, other secessionists of Europe were inspired, knowing that they, too, could succeed. Nigel Farage, one of the movers behind the Brexit movement, is totally in favor for the Catalonian separatist movement. This is not by accident, since Farage and those like him are instigators for revolution, arm chair rebels whose call for secession will only lead to violence.
As tensions rise between Catalonia and Madrid, Brussels is not doing anything to intervene. We suspect that Germany, and its EU states, will act neutral until blood is on the streets, and then there will be intervention.
It is said that Satan is handsome. I mean if the devil was to reveal himself in the flesh, he would probably do it on a catwalk while modeling in Milan. Let me add one more log of truth to this axiom—I am certain that the devil is filthy rich and is a philanthropist to boot. In fact, the way Lucifer tricked Eve to bite of the apple was most likely by offering the fruit as charity. Ever since that fateful taste and the ensuing banishment, pseudo charity has been offered to humanity as a means of enslaving the masses with counterfeit kindness while these very same antichrists unleash their armies to steal the wealth of nations.
Of course, I wrote the previous paragraph about Satan’s philanthropy with a dash of intended sarcasm and satire. People who are victimized by the powerful and thus rendered powerless learned a long time ago to counter the wickedness of their oppressors with a healthy dose of wit. However, what I write is not comedy; the world over, one billionaire prick after another loots from nations in order to make fortunes only to turn around and give pittance as depraved donations. At times, I stew in indignation; wealth enables criminal plutocrats to not only escape judgment in court, their blood soaked money buys up the adoration of the very people they subjugate.
Let me break some news here for those who might not know. Colonialism is not a relic of the past; the aristocracy and imperialists just concocted a more efficient way to do business. The more the world got interconnected by technology and information made global affairs borderless, the less colonialists could turn to the way of the gun and savagery as a means of bleeding people into submission. Boots on the ground became an obsolete way of enslaving the masses, thus illuminated and Luciferian thinkers came up with a more brilliant and utterly malicious way of putting people into perpetual bondage and concurrently stealing their natural resources.
This blueprint of neo-colonialism was deployed and perfected in the continent we now call Africa. But before you turn away thinking what goes on in the continent of Ethiopia is no business of yours, please be aware that what I am presenting in the subsequent paragraphs is the very same practice that is repressing the masses in America and the world over. Read what comes next intently and the realization will slowly creep into your conscience. At some point most of you will think “holly shit that is what they are doing to us!” irrespective of geographic location you call home.
Colonialism thrives and is utterly dependent on the playbook of divide and conquer. A people united are not easily defeated; thus tensions have to be created between the masses in order to have them fighting each other. This is the reason artificial constructs like “black”, “white”, liberal, conservative and a never ending stream of identities were created. Consequently, this is also the reason that nations in “Africa” were carved out and invented out of pure cloth by Eurocentric bureaucrats in the 1800’s. The first step of colonization requires that one group of people, or tribe as you have it, are elevated while the rest are cast as victims of the chosen tribe.
Take for example my native land Ethiopia; the current class that has been elevated by colonialists are the Tigray tribe. Before that, it was the Amhara tribe that was raised as the “privileged class”. It is from the privileged class that the autocrat is chosen; in Ethiopia the Tigray People Liberation Front (TPLF) were given a never ending supply of weaponry and cash by their western backers so they could depose the previous regime and replicate the horrors of the Derg communist regime by other means. The principle requirement imposed on these African tyrants is that they transfer the natural resources of their nation to their western masters. As long as they do this, as long as they subserviently bow before their colonial pimps, they are allowed to stay in power and amass ungodly wealth while the huddled mass of humanity—including the majority of the people from the privileged tribe—suffer in hopelessness and indigence.
If, for any reason, the colonially backed African junta does not do exactly as their imperial masters demand, that is when the truly insidious aspect of the colonialism playbook is deployed. As imperialists and incorporated wolves armed the tyrants to the teeth, they concurrently made sure that they armed the opposition with just enough weaponry to keep the country on the precipice of war and in a perpetual simmering boil. Let a despot gain a conscience and decide to actually do for his people instead of serving his western masters or threatens the hustle of multi-national corporations, that is when jackals (paramilitary forces from countries like France, Britain, China Russia or America) are flown in with orders to assist the “rebels”.
Guerrilla groups who were once persona non grata are all the sudden lauded as freedom fighters and once western backed governments are all the sudden painted as terrorists. Sound familiar? This is what happened to Sadam Hussein, Muammar Gaddafi, Osama bin Laden and now Bashar al-Assad, each of these men were best friends of devils like Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, John Kerry and the cash cows of America’s military-financial complex before they became threats that had to be eliminated. Of course, the Corporate State Media starts to beat war drums upon command and unblinkingly supports these immoral and illegal wars because what goes BOOM! begets more eyeballs and clicks which in turn enhances their bottom line.
This is how “Africa”, a continent that has enough resources to feed the world five times over, is reduced to the status of global beggars and perpetual charity cases. The West, and to lesser extent China and Russia, fleece the entire continent and rob all nations of their resources, keep countries mired in cyclical violence and then give aid to hide their wickedness while making it seem like they are the second coming of Jesus. This aid comes by way of the World Bank and IMF “benevolence” as loans are given to put shackles of debt on the feet of nations already in distress. Why use bullets and chains to enslave countries and people when depraved plutocrats can unleash their wealth to terrorize billions of people around the globe and make nation after nation submit to their financial clout. Debt is the 21st century slave ship.
The terms of these loans are onerous; countries are expected to pay interest payments above and beyond every other social program and infrastructure project. If countries don’t remit interest payments on time, one of two things happen. Ratings agencies like Moody’s, S&P, and Fitch cripple a nation’s economy by lowering their credit rating which in return increases borrowing cost. A country that is broke is shattered by this move as the race to pay interests on loans becomes more important than taking care of the people. This is when social order starts to break down and nations start to unravel at the seams. If tyrants don’t come to their senses, they are either pushed out by internal disorder or externally fomented civil wars that eventually leads to a coup d’état only to give rise to the next tyrant. Awash in blood, rinse and repeat as needed. At “chance” would have it, the very nations who once had domain in specific regions of “Africa” deploy their forces to restore peace after they incited bloodshed to begin with. Belgium to Congo, France to Ivory Coast, Britain to Algeria, America to Liberia—these are the same zones of influence in “Africa” the aforementioned western powers once carved up for themselves. Colonialism is still in place after all.
Nations can avoid this fate of destabilization and brutal bloodshed as long as they keep up on interest payments, funnel natural resources to their western keepers, and let their lands be used as outposts for the military-industrial complex. Every country, from Ethiopia to Ivory Coast, from Algeria to South Africa, is forced to transfer their resources like diamonds, rubber, banana, coffee and oil as unfinished goods so that Wall Street corporations can import materials pennies on the dollar and then turn around and make billions. This is a pyramid scheme so diabolical and nefarious that only the devil could have conceived of this.
There is one last pernicious trait of colonialism that is actually the most Machiavellian aspect of this malignant scheme. After kneecapping and bleeding nations into hopeless cycles of warfare and destitution, these moneyed hyenas then jaunt to the same nations they buried to tap dance on victims’ graves. A procession of duplicitous billionaires partake in subterfuge and astounding hypocrisy by presenting themselves as compassionate philanthropists. You hear of them daily as they travel to Nigeria, Congo, Angola, Ethiopia and beyond pretending like they are giving back while simultaneously taking a thousand times more than they give. Photo ops show one impish billionaire after another smiling while feigning care for an impoverished child; once the photo op is over, these same monsters sign off on initiatives to steal back in spades what they gave in scarps. Alternative humans like Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, George Soros and politicians like Bill Clinton, Hillary Clinton and our ogre-in-chief Donald Trump advertise their kindness while sticking machetes in the backs of billions throughout the planet.
If a man breaks into your house, murders your father, enslaves your mother and keeps you and your siblings in a perpetual state of malnutrition, would it make any sense to call that criminal a philanthropist because he gives you one bowl of rice a day while he has you locked up in the basement as he eats filet mignon in your living room? Of course not, the larcenist and murderer would justifiably be condemned by society as a monster and be locked up or be sent to the gallows. Yet this precise scenario is exactly what these billionaire and millionaire philanthropists do all the time; they take billions in profits, give pennies on the dollar in charity and then get celebrated as altruistic angels.
What has been done in “Africa” is now being done globally, including right here in America. The elevated tribe in America are “white people” while innumerable tribes are created by way of idiotic identities that do not have a lick to do with who we are as humans. Just as colonialism oppresses all in Africa, the mass majority of “white folk” here America are being trampled along with the rest of us, yet we are so stuck on labels and artificial identities we end up fighting each other instead of uniting to take on our oppressors. What NGOs do to “Africa” and third world nations by way of false charity, our government here in America does to us in kind. They take from us billions by way of taxation and fees, transfer to Wall Street plutocrats and 1% tycoons trillions by way of Quantitative Easing and bailouts, and then give us pennies back on the dollar they took from us by way of sham government programs like Obamacare which only enhance the profits of corporations and the oligarchs.
Next time you feel like worshiping billionaires and paying homage to their “kindness”, just realize you are bowing before devils in $60,000 Kiton suits who are at the root of the economic anxieties you endure. It is said that a camel has a better chance of fitting through the eye of a needle than a rich man has of getting to heaven. That is because the rich are willing to commit mind-bending atrocities and wreak havoc on a global scale in order to maintain and enhance their fortunes. Money is the greatest of makeup for it serves to cover up the devious nature of these wealthy scoundrels and empowers them to keep taking more and more as they pretend they are giving to humanity. Everyone is witnessing that liberal media organizations have an ulterior motive to bury coverage of Islamic terrorism. It’s even getting to a point where Islamic terrorist acts are not even being reported, and in many cases. One only needs to monitor the comments’ section: Nothing has really changed, all is filled with primitive and filthy racialist / racist comments towards / against Africans – as you can see it on the snapshot. And this, in the 21st century, where access to information has become easier, and vast amount of comparative studies and readings are available everywhere. Whether it’s the Western press, Asian or Russian, they all seem to have been united in creating an atmosphere of fear among the “racially Caucasian” populations across Eurasia by repeatedly using the words Africa or Africans. Africa is a country! The vast majority of those migrants invading Europe are Arab and Asian Muslims – see the graphic – yet, Africans remain the boogieman. Are they so desperate in creating an exclusive New World Order for the RACE they exclusively call “CAUCASIAN”?
About 146 migrants are feared missing after their boat capsized after leaving Libya, according to a Gambian man who was rescued following the disaster, the United Nations’ refugee agency said Wednesday.
The man was rescued by a Spanish military ship participating in the EU’s “Operation Sophia” to crack down on smugglers, and then brought to the Italian island of Lampedusa.
The vessel left on Sunday or Monday from Sabratha, northwestern Libya, with five children and several pregnant women among those on board, the Gambian told a member of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees who met him at a hospital in Lampedusa.
Most of the passengers were from Nigeria, Mali and The Gambia, he said.

According to eye witnesses, the victim, Augustine Akwesi Obeng, a Hamburg civilian, who hails from Boukrom-Kumasi, Ghana, was drunk at that particular moment and highly disorderly.
A Hamburg police officer in civilian clothes approached him and that was when all hell broke loose.
The eye witness stated that he saw the police officer spray what looked like a pepper spray in the direction of the victim which had no major effect on the intoxicated victim.
Then the eye witness said he saw Akwesi Obeng lunge towards the plain clothed police officer with what appeared to look like a knife.
But the officer was able to kick the object out of the hands of Mr Augustine Akwesi. Immediately then after the officer pulled out a gun and shot Mr Augustine Akwesi in the leg.
The eye witness then said even though Mr Augustine Akwesi went down on his knees after the first shot, the officer proceeded to shot him two more times.
Eye witness said the officer shot him twice around his mid and upper body sections.
Later, the nearby shop owners (Casinos, Betting Shops & Night clubs – as a usual practice, frequently ‘gifted’ by German authorities to Albanian, Turkish, Iranian, and Arab owners) begun sharing their hateful thoughts about Africans with local reporters. A Pakistani shopkeeper complains that from 7 pm, hardly any customers dared to enter his business, because Somalian drug dealers were selling their goods directly in front of the entrance. “In public,” he says. “As if they were on the bazaar.” The police are often powerless against the dealers. If someone is arrested, he would be free again after a few hours – for lack of evidence. Although the exact circumstances of the shots are not yet clear, one Arab said: “These are people who do not accept the basic law of Germany,”. “If I were the policeman, I would not have shot him in the legs, but in the head.”
Yet, Arab terrorists who murdered innocent Germans are alive, unharmed, well and relaxing inside lavish German prisons. You wouldn’t believe if you learn how much support and help authoriies and medias in Germany give to Muslim Turks, Iranians and Arabs of the course of the past three decades. Neverthless this ungrateful group of people are abusing the German society in an increidable fashon that many native Germans are forced to migrate.
Just last month, even UN experts accused Germany of ‘structural racism’ against people of African descent. The findings and recommendations will be formally presented to the UN Human Rights Council in September. These findings prove what’s presented above. The established system even permits or uses Turks, Arabs and co. to discriminate against Africans. Mind you, there are only 800,000 Africans (including majority North ‘African’ Arabs) living in Germany. Only last year, 1 million Syrians came to Germany, in addition to the millions of Turks, Arabs, Albanians and Iranians.

Because Germany does not gather official statistics on the basis of ethnicity, equality data cannot be used to identify and combat issues, while people of African descent are not recognized as “a significant minority” deserving specific action, according to the report.

In the same show, the green party technocrat, Jürgen Trittin (a Bildeberger) shows immense sympathy for the Syrian refugees, adamantly defends their presence in Germany and passionately supports the importation of Muslims in his country. All this, days after the tragic news about the raped and murdered German girl in Freiburg became official. His propaganda about the ‘humanitarian’ disaster in Syria and Afghanistan – his dramatic and passionate presentation earned him a warm round of applause from the selectively invited studio guests.
On the other hand, the racialist Eurocrat, Elmar Brok, while his country already has been invaded by 2 to 5 million Muslims, he concentrated on Africa by painting the situation in Africa in the usual primitive, racialist and eugenicist manner to brainwash, convince and scare the German public about a potential invasion of 100 million BLACK Africans in the near future – unless „We“ (Europeans and Arabs) do something about now. “Either accept Arab Muslims try to coexist with them, or else, millions of wild men from the African jungle will be here soon.” This is how they condition their folks to hate and dehumanize Africans. It will be easier then to wipe out millions of Africans (Rwanda, Congo, South Sudan) without harvesting potential protest or sense of guilt.
Mr. Elmar Brok’s ‘argument’ is an indirect call for concentration camps in Egypt and Tunisia – a call for POPULATION control and GENOCIDE. They turn a blind eye to Arab Muslim evil, but quick to blame Africa for everything. It’s all there for everyone to see, they don’t even hide it anymore. Even if one doesn’t understand German it’s possible to see the video image and get the message. These people never learn, because their faith in their agenda is a satanic cultist’s zeal. It really contradicts Jesus Christ’s agenda. But their ultimate downfall will come soon, and it’ll be horrible.
The Hidden Racism Of The Refugee Crisis — Why Does Nobody Care When Black Africans Drown?

The African migrant trail via Libya is far more dangerous than the Syrian route via Greece.

Ever since the Syrian refugee crisis hit international headlines the plight of African migrants in Europe has taken a back seat. Media attention has focused on arrivals via the eastern Mediterranean route – from Turkey to Greece – because of the huge number of arrivals, when in reality the central Mediterranean route via Libya to Italy is by far the deadliest into Europe. According to the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) between 1 January to 28 September 3,054 migrants have died taking it.
African migrants have been crossing the central Mediterranean for decades. In Lampedusa, the island that has become a symbol of Europe’s migrant crisis, some 400,000 migrants have landed en route to Europe. Like river tributaries African migrants converge from the east, central and west of the continent to Libya’s coastline, which is 1,100 miles long.
For the past few years I have been reporting on the perilous journeys African migrants make to reach Europe’s shores on dingy boats from Libya. Most of them are young men who risk life and limb to escape poverty, war, violence and Islamist militants in their native countries.
I have interviewed numerous African migrants who have survived terrible journeys to reach Europe. But their plight does not draw the same attention as that of Syrians crossing Turkey into Europe. In Libya African migrants are met by a grim situation, they face indefinite detention, racism, slave-like labour conditions and violence at the hands of militias and smugglers.
According to the IOM, of the 3,600 Nigerians who arrived in Italy by boat in the first half of 2016, more than 80% will be trafficked into prostitution. When I was in Palermo this summer I heard about the plight of these Nigerian prostitutes, I heard that most are tricked into coming to Italy, and once they get here, they are told they have to work to pay back the cost of their journey. Most nights in Palermo, Nigerian women walk along the city’s port by the beach selling sex, with pimps overlooking them.
Libya has become a funnel for African migrants into Europe. Taka, a young Gambian migrant, knew nothing of Libya’s war before he left his tiny West African country. He left his village in February 2016 and embarked on a dangerous journey, which took him via a slavers market in Niger to the Sahara. He eventually reached Libya, where he was captured, imprisoned and tortured before he was released. He made it to Tripoli but had to stick together with other young Gambians to avoid kidnap. This arduous journey did not diminish Taka’s resolve: “I will die or see Europe,” he said.
Taka’s journey is not unique. He shares much in come with the many young African migrants I have interviewed. Like Ugaas, a young Somali migrant who was tortured and held prisoner by people smugglers in Libya. They threw rocks at his head when his family could not pay up. Ugaas showed me the scars on his body. Or Tareke, an Eritrean who escaped enforced military conscription in Eritrea – one of the harshest regimes in the world – and was imprisoned and tortured for months in a notorious prison in Kufra, in the south of Libya.
Despite these horror stories the focus is usually on the experiences of Syrians. In Europe, it seems that African lives don’t matter as much as those of Arabs. In the summer I was asked to take part in two post-screening panel discussions of Fire at Sea, a 2016 documentary film by Eritrea-born Italian director Gianfranco Rossi, which won the Golden Bear at the Berlin Film Festival.

This film is set in Lampedusa, and though it features some Syrian and Arab stories, the primary focus of the film is on African migrants. During these panel discussions I was struck at how few audience questions related to Africans, and how overwhelmingly most questions concerned the plight of Syrian refugees. I recall only a few people asking about the plight of African migrants.
Even when boats sink in the central Mediterranean route, focus usually shifts to Syrians, rather than on perished Africans. It seems the plight of Syrian refugees feeds our liberal bias towards refugee stories – the political battle is over who gets the right to be called a refugee, by extension those outside that definition are seen to have made their journeys to Europe by choice, and therefore they do not deserve the same attention.
There is a tendency in public discourse to protect refugees at the expense of migrants, to endlessly debate whether we should describe them as a refugee or a migrant, but the reality is that this misses the nuances.

Perhaps most Africans could be considered migrants. Take Taka, he came because of poverty not war, yet he was kept a slave in Niger and fled mayhem in Libya: he may not have started out a refugee in the legal sense, but he was forced out of Libya by violence. The danger is that these discussions distract us from what is going on the ground – and are a shortcut to determining a migrant’s worth based on their country of origin.
An Italian cultural mediator I interviewed in Palermo, and who has been working with migrants since 2008, told me that the situation had not changed for Gambians: they were still fleeing in droves, yet to be a Gambian migrant in Sicily now means it is impossible to get asylum in Italy. He said there is preferential treatment for Syrians, but not Gambians, Afghans or Nigerians.
This preferential treatment is creating a two-tier system for migrants in Europe. There is now a league table, with Syrians at the top and Africans at the bottom. Until this changes, the plight of African migrants will continue to be on the periphery.
