❖ The historic Hagia Sophia Church in Constantinople/ Istanbul in its original form was built by Emperor Constantine sometime around the year 330AD, less than 300 years after Christ himself walked among us. It was rebuilt two centuries later after a devastating fire and stood as an Orthodox Christian church. Even though it has been out of the control of the Orthodox Church for nearly 600 years and has been used as a museum since 1934, it remains not only an architectural marvel but a testament to the glory of Jesus Christ and a powerful symbol of Byzantium and its legacy for global Orthodoxy. It is currently a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.

However, Turkey’s President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan recently issued a decree reclaiming the holy site for Islam.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan issued a decree in 2020 ordering Hagia Sophia to be opened for Muslim prayers, an action which provoked international furor around a World Heritage Site cherished by Christians and Muslims alike for its religious significance, for its stunning structure and as a symbol of conquest.

The presidential decree came minutes after a Turkish court announced that it had revoked Hagia Sophia’s status as a museum, which for the last 80 years had made it a monument of relative harmony and a symbol of the secularism that was part of the foundation of the modern Turkish state.

This move could be considered an instance of history repeating, as the historic church was conquered by Muslims and converted to a mosque in the 1400’s.

The church is itself an historic marvel. It was built in 537AD by 10,000 workers on the order of the Byzantine Emperor Justinian. It immediately became the foremost cathedral in the imperial city of Constantinople and the entire Christian world, east and west. Emperor Justinian stated that, as a cathedral, it was “one that has never existed since Adam’s time, and one that will never exist again.”

The present structure was the largest religious structure in the world when it was built. This remained true until the completion of the current St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome during the 16th century. Historians of science are still puzzled by how 6th century engineers would be able to build such a large dome without modern tools such as steel and calculus.

Historically it has served as the primary site of Byzantine religious, imperial, and diplomatic ceremony. It is the cathedral church of the Ecumenical Patriarch. After the 8th century, it became the site for crowning new emperors. It has been the site of royal weddings, diplomatic baptisms, signing of treaties, and more, as documented in the 9th century document Book of Ceremonies.

Throughout its storied history, Hagia Sophia has been in different hands over the centuries:

• The Orthodox Church from 537-1204 (this includes the 100 years held by iconoclasts during the 8th and 9th centuries);
• The Crusaders/Roman Church from 1204-1261;
• The Orthodox Church 1261-1453;
• The Ottomans/Turks as a mosque 1453-1934; and
• As a museum (by order of Turkish President Kemal Atatürk, founder of secular Turkey) 1935-2020.

As a museum, the Hagia Sophia presented Christian history to the entire world, opening a dialogue between people of all faiths. But the Christian frescos that adorn its walls are about to be strategically covered up. It has already been announced they will be covered with curtains during prayer because Islamic law forbids images of people.

Erdoğan claims the doors will still be open to Muslims and non-Muslims, but what are the odds that tourists will flock to an active mosque? It seems more likely that now the famed church and the Turkish government’s re-appropriation of it are meant to serve as a symbol of Islamic conquest. Even an official from neighboring Greece called the move “a direct challenge to the entire civilized world.”

Imagine if any foreign leader announced that it was seizing a Muslim mosque and converting it to a Christian church. There would likely be zero-tolerance from the Muslim world. And yet Erdoğan made it clear he rules over Turkey, including Turkish Christians, with impunity, almost provoking Western leaders to challenge him, stating:

The way Hagia Sophia will be used falls under Turkey’s sovereign rights. We deem every move that goes beyond voicing an opinion a violation of our sovereignty.

And this is not the first time under Erdoğan that Turkey has taken possession of Christian churches. As the New York Times reported in 2016:

The Turkish government has seized the historic Armenian Surp Giragos Church, a number of other churches and large swaths of property in the heavily damaged Kurdish city of Diyarbakir, saying it wants to restore the area but alarming residents who fear the government is secretly aiming to drive them out.

💭 Barack Obama Struggled to Control Michigan Crowd After Heckler Interrupts His Speech

Former President Barack Obama struggled to control a Michigan crowd after a heckler interrupted his campaign speech in support of Democrat Gov. Gretchen Whitmer on Saturday.

Obama traveled to Michigan as part of a last-minute effort to rally his base around vulnerable Democrat candidates across the country.

It is unclear from the video of Obama’s speech what the heckler said, but it was enough to get the former president’s attention.

“Come on,” Obama complained as he paused his speech for more than two minutes to address the heckler.

“But this is what I mean. This is what I mean. I mean we’re having a conversation,” Obama said as the crowd attempted to drown out the heckler by chanting “Obama” repeatedly.

Obama then lectured the man on civility as security guards escorted him out of the rally. Obama said:

Right now, I’m talking. You’ll have a chance to talk sometime soon. We don’t have to interrupt each other. We don’t have to shout each other down, that’s not a good way to do business. You wouldn’t do that in workplaces. You wouldn’t just interrupt people in the middle of a conversation. It’s not how we do things.

However, the heckler disrupted Obama’s speech so much that it took several pleas from Obama before the crowd focused their attention back on him.

“So listen,” Obama said in an attempt to regain control of the crowd. “No, no, no no. Wait, wait, wait,” Obama repeatedly said.

“Quiet down,” Obama told the crowd. At one point, he shouted, “Hold on a minute,” at the crowd to regain their attention.

While Obama attempted to sway Michigan voters into supporting Whitmer, Republican challenger Tudor Dixon thinks the Democrats’ efforts are “too little, too late.

“Now they’re bringing in Barack Obama. They brought in Kamala Harris. They brought in Joe Biden. Most people are running from Joe Biden; Gretchen Whitmer is bringing him in. It’s just marrying her more to those radical policies,” Dixon told Breitbart News. “They believe that Barack Obama can bring this back to her, and I think it’s too little, too late.”

Dixon also spoke about how Whitmer’s school closures galvanized suburban women across Michigan to vote against the incumbent.

“Now she’s losing her base across the state because her base is suburban women,” Dixon said. “Suburban women are saying, ‘Woah, woah, we missed graduations. We missed proms. We missed sports. Our kids missed all of their milestones, and now you’re telling us it didn’t happen?’ It’s outrageous.”

Dixon also said Whitmer is “gaslighting” Michiganders by lying about how long schools were closed during the pandemic.

“So this idea that they weren’t shut down is just completely false. And people are not going to take this. This gaslighting, ‘Oh, you actually weren’t shut down,’” Dixon said.

Obama, who campaigned in Georgia on Friday on behalf of Sen. Raphael Warnock, will travel to Nevada on Tuesday and then Pennsylvania on November 5.

Iraqi Christians on U.S. President – ‘We Have Confidence in Trump!’

In a new video, a number of Christians living in Iraq expressed their admiration for U.S. President Donald Trump, and their hope that he will make good on promises to assist them and come down hard on the Islamic State.

Asked “What do you think of Donald Trump?” several members of the clergy as well as lay Christians answered that they sensed a positive change after the Obama years, and felt that they were finally being noticed.

Father Immanuel, a Syriac Catholic priest in Mosul, said simply: “I love Trump because he understands this Christian matter in Iraq.”

Archbishop Bashar Warda, the Chaldean Catholic bishop of Erbil, said that he was “really encouraged to see that someone at least is thinking of the Christians and giving, not a priority, but at least attracting attention.”

“For me,” the Archbishop said, “I would say this is probably the first time that an American politician like a president would say, ‘No, there are some people who are dying or are suffering because of their faith and we have to think seriously about that.’”

Though in different words, a common thread running through the responses was the belief that Trump actually cares about persecuted Christians in the Middle East and would do something about it.

Yohanna Toways, a Christian refugee from Qaraqosh, said that Christian and Yezidi minorities had actually prayed to God for Donald Trump to win the election.

“We have confidence in Trump,” Toways said. “Before he was elected, all the Christians and the Yezidi are praying [for him] to win, all of them, and now that he is the president we have the hope he will be the savior of these minorities by his strong decisions. I think he can help us.”

People also said that Trump offered hope to local Christians, after eight years of a president who did nothing for them.

“People here were more than disappointed with Obama, because he did nothing. So the view of Obama was terrible,” said John Neill, a volunteer aid worker for the Archdiocese of Erbil.

“I think people here are feeling excited about Trump, that he will do something,” Neill continued. “He stated in his election speech that he would do something about Daesh. That is an indication that he will go further and help the minorities in Iraq to get back their lives.”

“If Trump cannot give them hope, then what hope is there?” he added.

Similar sentiments were expressed Father Benedict Kiely, the founder of www.nasarean.org, a Christian aid group that has promoted awareness of Christian persecution in ISIS-dominated territory, especially through the spread of the Arabicنsymbol used to mark the homes of Christians.

“Many people said in our interviews with them that they had hope because he is a strong man,” he said. “God bless him. Let’s be strong and help these people. He promised during the election I remember specifically to be the president for the Christians.”

“So let’s put it into action,” he said.

How Obama Is Scheming To Sabotage Trump’s Presidency

When former President Barack Obama said he was “heartened” by anti-Trump protests, he was sending a message of approval to his troops. Troops? Yes, Obama has an army of agitators — numbering more than 30,000 — who will fight his Republican successor at every turn of his historic presidency. And Obama will command them from a bunker less than two miles from the White House.

In what’s shaping up to be a highly unusual post-presidency, Obama isn’t just staying behind in Washington. He’s working behind the scenes to set up what will effectively be a shadow government to not only protect his threatened legacy, but to sabotage the incoming administration and its popular “America First” agenda.

He’s doing it through a network of leftist nonprofits led by Organizing for Action. Normally you’d expect an organization set up to support a politician and his agenda to close up shop after that candidate leaves office, but not Obama’s OFA. Rather, it’s gearing up for battle, with a growing war chest and more than 250 offices across the country.

Since Donald Trump’s election, this little-known but well-funded protesting arm has beefed up staff and ramped up recruitment of young liberal activists, declaring on its website, “We’re not backing down.” Determined to salvage Obama’s legacy, it’s drawing battle lines on immigration, ObamaCare, race relations and climate change.

Obama is intimately involved in OFA operations and even tweets from the group’s account. In fact, he gave marching orders to OFA foot soldiers following Trump’s upset victory.

“It is fine for everybody to feel stressed, sad, discouraged,” he said in a conference call from the White House. “But get over it.” He demanded they “move forward to protect what we’ve accomplished.”

“Now is the time for some organizing,” he said. “So don’t mope.”

Far from sulking, OFA activists helped organize anti-Trump marches across US cities, some of which turned into riots. After Trump issued a temporary ban on immigration from seven terror-prone Muslim nations, the demonstrators jammed airports, chanting: “No ban, no wall, sanctuary for all!”

Run by old Obama aides and campaign workers, federal tax records show “nonpartisan” OFA marshals 32,525 volunteers nationwide. Registered as a 501(c)(4), it doesn’t have to disclose its donors, but they’ve been generous. OFA has raised more than $40 million in contributions and grants since evolving from Obama’s campaign organization Obama for America in 2013.

OFA, in IRS filings, says it trains young activists to develop “organizing skills.” Armed with Obama’s 2012 campaign database, OFA plans to get out the vote for Democratic candidates it’s grooming to win back Congress and erect a wall of resistance to Trump at the other end of Pennsylvania Avenue.

It will be aided in that effort by the Obama Foundation, run by Obama’s former political director, and the National Democratic Redistricting Committee, launched last month by Obama pal Eric Holder to end what he and Obama call GOP “gerrymandering” of congressional districts.

Obama will be overseeing it all from a shadow White House located within two miles of Trump. It features a mansion, which he’s fortifying with construction of a tall brick perimeter, and a nearby taxpayer-funded office with his own chief of staff and press secretary. Michelle Obama will also open an office there, along with the Obama Foundation.

Critical to the fight is rebuilding the ravaged Democratic Party. Obama hopes to install his former civil rights chief Tom Perez at the helm of the Democratic National Committee.

Perez is running for the vacant DNC chairmanship, vowing, “It’s time to organize and fight . . . We must stand up to protect President Obama’s accomplishments,” while also promising, “We’re going to build the strongest grassroots organizing force this country has ever seen.”

The 55-year-old Obama is not content to go quietly into the night like other ex-presidents.

“You’re going to see me early next year,” he told his OFA troops after the election, “and we’re going to be in a position where we can start cooking up all kinds of great stuff.”

Added the ex-president: “Point is, I’m still fired up and ready to go.”

Three months later, when the Secretary-General submitted his annual report on the UN’s response to sexual exploitation and abuse for 2014, it contained no mention whatsoever of the reports of child sexual abuse in the Central African Republic.

His predecessor, Kofi ANNAN was a passive observer to two mass Christian murders: In Rwanda and Syria.

Erdogan has also vowed that he will remove Syrian President Bashar Assad from power. These are all things that the bible tells us that the Antichrist will do.

The Antichrist will do many other things.

Joel Richardson, author of “The Islamic Antichrist” and director of the documentary film “End Times Eyewitness,” does not believe Erdogan is the Antichrist. But he has been warning for years that something is going on in Turkey worth watching, and that this country of 78 million people and home to the region’s largest army could ultimately be more dangerous than ISIS or even Iran. In short, it is fertile ground for an antichrist figure to rise up and lead a large portion of the world’s 1.5 billion Muslims.

While Germany confessed the Holocaust, Turkey still refuses to confess its sins when Turkey drank the blood of the saints and the martyrs of Jesus Christ. This is what offends the true God whom Erdogan denounces The Trinity.

It is also interesting to note that, as mosques symbolizing Islam’s influence have drastically increased in numbers within NATO countries, evidencing Western tolerance, the number of churches symbolizing Christian influence have drastically decreased in Turkey, evidencing Muslim intolerance. In fact, churches there are on the verge of extinction.

Under President Erdogan, Turkey’s Islamist fervor has resurfaced, targeting Christianity and its symbols.

In the Islamist mind, whether “moderate” or “extremist,” the world began with the life of Mohamed. No other religion can be allowed to compete or co-exist, even though it may have existed long before Islam. Thus, all vestiges of competing religions must be removed or destroyed.

On the very day, as the United States undergo their Presidential election, the attention of the world media was overwhelmingly focused on the reaction of the rich nations, on what leaders of the UK, Germany, Russia, Japan or China had to say about the New President.

 

Of course, some TV stations were able to show us the pictures of those rejoicing Kenyan villagers in Kogelo, where the father of the President-Elect Barack Obama came from. Other than that, as usual, it looked as though that Africa is still irrelevant to the world media. Besides making some contribution to the genetic refreshment of biologically debilitated populations, Africa’s influence on global events is extremely low.

 

In this global village, where the world is getting smaller and smaller, where nations become closer and closer, it’s scary to learn that the potential Vice-President/President of the United States Of America, Ms. Sarah Palin did not even know that Africa was a continent. There are none so blind as those who refuse to see.
