Former British PM David Cameron Thought Barack Obama was one of the ‘Most Narcissistic and Self-Absorbed People’ He Had Ever Met

Posted by addisethiopia / አዲስ ኢትዮጵያ on January 10, 2018

Steve Hilton tried to shatter view Barack Obama and David Cameron were close

  • He tore into the former US President for thinking he was the smartest in the room
  • But David Cameron’s spokesman strongly denied claim of tension between pairDavid Cameron thought Barack Obama was one of the ‘most narcissistic, self-absorbed people’ he had ever dealt with, his former strategy guru has claimed.

While in office the two leaders had a cosy bromance and were pictured high-fiving and playing rounds of golf and ping pong together.

But Steve Hilton tore into Mr Obama for thinking he was ‘smarter’ than everyone else in the room.

And he claimed that his old boss Mr Cameron would get wound up by the ex President’s self absorption.

Hilton, who was Mr Cameron’s adviser when he entered Downing Street but later parted way with him and moved to Silicon Valley where his wife, Rachel Whetstone was working first for Google, then Uber, and now Facebook as a communications executive.

Hilton is also hosting a Fox News show on Sundays called The Next Revolution and used it to jump into the aftermath of the publication of the explosive book Fire and Fury, on Donald Trump’s time in the White House.

The former Downing Street adviser was highly critical of Mr Obama and said: ‘My old boss, former British prime minister David Cameron, thought Obama was one of the most narcissistic, self-absorbed people he’d ever dealt with.

‘Obama never listened to anyone, always thought he was smarter than every expert in the room, and treated every meeting as an opportunity to lecture everyone else.

‘This led to real-world disasters, like Syria and the rise of Isis.’

But the claims were immediately slapped down by a spokesman for the former Prime Minister who said they do not reflect his views.

Mr Hilton made the shocking claim as he railed against ‘elitists’ for criticising Donald Trump and claiming he is unfit to hold office.

He said: ‘For them, it’s all about style and tone, not substance and results. Donald Trump offends the elites aesthetically, like a piece of art that’s not to their taste.

‘They can afford to do that because they live in a world of booming neighbourhoods, delightful hipster eateries and everyone they know employed in the virtual world of the knowledge economy.

‘They don’t see what’s going on in the actual economy. Whatever his mental state, [Trump] has achieved more for working Americans in one year than his predecessors did in eight, or 16, frankly.’

The viewpoint pushed by Hilton on Sunday is one he has been aggressively putting forward for months.

On Sunday he said: ‘Every supporter of President Trump should understand one thing about this book, the argument that Donald Trump is mentally unfit is not Michael Wolff’s opinion, it’s the opinion of some of the people closest to the president.

‘I said back in the summer when I first learned what these aides and hangers-on were saying to Wolff, that the president is surrounded by too many two-faced self-serving Muppets who say one thing in public and another behind the president’s back.’

That was an apparent dig at Steve Bannon, who until the publication of the book in which he openly attacked the White House, had been close to Mr Trump – rather similar to Mr Hilton’s relationship to Mr Cameron.

Mr Cameron and Mr Obama had been understood to get on well together while in office, and were pictured together playing ping-pong and watching a basketball game.

The former Tory leader once said of the the President: ‘Yes, he sometimes calls me bro.’

But their special relationship deteriorated and Mr Obama later criticised Mr Cameron for failing to do enough to intervene in Libya saying he had been ‘distracted by a range of other things’.

Mr Hilton fell out with Mr Cameron during the EU referendum campaign after the strategist announced he was backing Brexit.

A spokesman for Cameron said: ‘This does not represent David Cameron’s opinion at all and could not be further from the truth.

‘David Cameron’s views on President Obama – whether in public or in private – are the same: he considers Barack Obama a hugely accomplished president, a great partner for Britain and a good friend to our country and to him personally.’

[Matthew 10:2]

Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death.

This’s exactly what we see these days; Steve Bannon betraying President Trump, David Cameron and Barack Obama, who were brothers in arms during the Libyan genocide of Black Africans, calling names like school pupils. Everywhere, betrayal, betrayal, betrayal. I wish we could see the reunion of Cameron & Obama inside a wrestling ring for a cage fighting! Politicians are all psychopaths and narcissists, yet they betray each other at some point. A pathetic world!

Clinton Sycophants Blinded By The Light

Posted by addisethiopia / አዲስ ኢትዮጵያ on November 3, 2016

blindedAfter all these many pre-election months of watching news programs; panel discussions; and Sunday news shows on NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN, and Fox News, as well as talk radio, the burning question is, as more and more is revealed about the Clintons unscrupulous ways of being by WikiLeaks, Project Veritas, and the FBI, why do the people around the Clintons stay? With each passing day, the breadth and depth of their duplicity, their venality is made provably clearer, and yet the same people show up day after day, night after night defending them: Bill Burton, Julie Roginsky, Lanny Davis, Robert Zimmerman, Dana Bash, Gloria Borger, James Carville, Andrea Mitchell, Jessica Tarlov, Don Lemon, Coco Soodek, Donna Brazile, Maryanne Walsh, Richard Fowler, Geraldo Rivera, Austan Goolsbee, and others. The list is long and mystifying. It is not possible that all these people are as shamelessly corrupt as the Clintons are, and yet they go on national television and support them.

How do all these people continue to maintain their allegiance to and defend Hillary Clinton and the criminal enterprise that is the Clinton Foundation? The Clintons have violated so many laws, state and federal, and yet they continue to assume they are above the law because they have gotten away with breaking it for over thirty years. As proof of the lying, the cheating, the selling of the State Department, and all the underhanded dirty tricks seeps out, how do their on-screen acolytes rationalize supporting a woman who is so obviously morally and ethically challenged?

Since the narcissist suffers from a severe deficit of conscience, their morals and ethics are mobile and adaptive; their rules for living are based strictly on the end game, the bottom line. The question is not whether they will cross the legal, ethical, or moral line but when.” –Linda Martinez-Lewi, Ph.D.

It is said of toxic narcissists that they manipulate two kinds of people: those who do not see the abuse and those who purposefully ignore the abuse. Who among all those telegenic defenders cannot see the truth of who these people are? Podesta’s emails are a virtual road map, as Thomas Frank wrote in an already famous Guardian article that lays out how this country is being run by a small cadre of wealthy, inter-connected elites whose mission in life is only to preserve their own power and wealth. This crowd helps each other, each other’s kids and families. They cover for each other, lie for each other, defend each other when legal problems arise because so many of them are lawyers.

What is stunning in the Podesta emails is that there is absolutely nothing in any of them that mentions any concern about the country, its citizens, its productivity, economy, or culture. The emails are only about winning, by any means necessary. They discuss “dumping emails” an hour after the news of Hillary’s private server broke. They speak about how to get more money out of donors, how to deceive and manipulate the media, and which of them is in their pocket, and how to take out their opposition. The videos show them planning violence against Trump supporters in order to blame them for it. The people represented in those email chains are pretty much as vile as the Clintons themselves, self-serving narcissists all. So how do we explain their TV proponents’ commitment to the lawless Clintons? They are not officially part of the Clinton campaign team, but still they prostrate themselves on the altar of Clintonism, no matter how much evidence proves that it is deeply corrupt.

European Pathology Hasn’t Changed

Posted by addisethiopia / አዲስ ኢትዮጵያ on February 3, 2016

NarcismDelu

After the Hitler and Stalin disasters, Europeans swore “Never Again!” over and over again. Never Again to the Holocaust and Stalin massacres, but also to the many occasions of mass bloodshed that began with the wars of the Reformation.

And yet, today we can see Europe’s boastful old narcissism again.

It is a troubling and ominous sight.

I don’t mean to pick on Europe — there are plenty of mad political movements in the world. But Europe has been the source of all major international wars for centuries. Maybe it was only the Industrial Revolution that made Europe so destructive. But its neurotic repetition compulsion goes back at least to the invention of the printing press, which made mass political movements possible.

Whom the gods would destroy they first make mad,” said the Greeks, and they were right. The very same signs of severe mental pathology seem to show up before every major bloodletting in history. If you look for historical patterns, you can see the signs long before mass violence breaks out again. Today, the most stunning example of pathology is visible in the suicidal policies of the European Union, a grossly dysfunctional family if ever there was one.

Many historians consider World War I to be the greatest disaster of the 20th century, because it killed a whole generation of highly educated men, who could have given constructive political and cultural leadership for decades to come. World War I itself was triggered by a century of tit-for-tat Franco-German wars, and it led directly to Hitler and the Cold War.

The war brought Lenin to power in Russia, followed by the first Marxist Terror. Hitler’s rise was driven by a desire to take revenge for WW I. Without WW I the world would have been spared much suffering.

Every European disaster echoes the previous one, which is why the historical pattern looks so neurotic. Europe’s propaganda line changes, but it always comes down to the same old narcissistic grandiosity, the same glorious rhetoric of Empire. Today the European Union is seriously intent on taking over the world via bureaucratic imperialism, using a network of international “laws” that nobody has ever voted for. Euro-imperialism is the reason behind the global climate fraud.

Not surprisingly, in the end the Eurocracy serves no one but itself. The elite helped to ruin viable economies on its own Mediterranean shores, simply in pursuit of a glorious new euro currency; the EU has knowingly imported 50 million easily radicalized Muslims; and Euromedia have fallen back into their bad old habits of viciously scapegoating anybody who stands in the way of their fantasy life. Europrop is no different from the imperial propaganda of Kaiser Wilhelm, Hitler, or Stalin. Only the designated scapegoats change.

(See this website for excellent coverage of the German media).

America and Israel are Europe’s favorite scapegoats today — putting Germany into that old mood of arrogant superiority — but scapegoating is a primitive emotional defense mechanism, which can be directed at any target. The psychology of scapegoating empowers demagogues — it’s practically the definition of demagogy. Which what makes Europolitics so neurotic today.)

For 70 years American power helped to hold back Europe’s mood swings, by protecting the Continent from Soviet aggression. Europe responded to Uncle Sam’s free ride by cannibalizing its own defense capabilities, to buy more welfare votes to keep the Left in power.

As a direct result, today the EU is utterly helpless in the face of Putin’s new imperialism. The end of the Cold War and the rise of Jihad has ripped the lid off that leaky old pressure cooker. The EU is defenseless without the U.S., and the Obama administration has systematically pulled down all the West’s strategic defenses.

This story will not end well.

Historians still argue why WW I ever started, because they can’t figure out any sane motivation. The assassination of Archduke Ferdinand in Sarajevo in 1914 was the act of a madman, but it never posed a strategic danger. Nobody benefited from war; instead, Europe ruined itself. The French had cheered on generations of anti-German propaganda, and the Germans hated the French just as much, while the Brits tried to pit the other powers against each other.

But even today nobody knows why the two opposing alliances suddenly went to all-out war, leading to millions of deaths. WW I followed the usual mass propaganda campaign, nationalistic scapegoating, and revanchisme (revenge campaigns), repeating all the old Franco-German wars. But that is not a rational reason for a world war.

The world wars followed a purely neurotic compulsion to do what was never done before, covered up with delusional propaganda slogans. Just like today.

Why is this neurotic history relevant today? Because Merkel’s collapse before the “Syrian rapefugee” invasion is simply not explainable on sane and rational grounds. Recent news reports say that 90% of the phony “Syrian” refugees were men, mostly of military age. We hear that news now, but Merkel has an intelligence apparatus to tell her long before the invasion happened. And yet — she acted completely shocked, helpless, and self-destructive.

This is not rational.

Jihadists are not just after trendy sex. They are doctrinaire killers, slave-takers, torturers and terrorists, who will quickly impose brutal Shari’a slavery on as many women as possible. The police in Germany, Norway, and Sweden are acting helpless. In Norway the cops retreated before a mob engaged in mass rape of a ten-year-old boy, the most shameful European surrender to sadistic barbarism since you-know-who.

The Jihad invasion is an obvious return to the psychology of the Hitler Jugend, who were also young, easily indoctrinated males, happy to die for Der Fuehrer. Jihadists kill and die for Allah, but the mindset is similar. Jihadists are stuck in pre-modern times, in the glorious war theology of the 7th century desert.

If Angela Merkel doesn’t know that, she is grossly ignorant.

Turkey was probably a major power behind the overwhelming wave of jihadist immigrants. But there is reason to think that the EU, which has been trying to dilute its own native populations by mixing in some of the least adaptable immigrants, was also behind the biggest Trojan Horse in history.

The European Union, which generates constant peace-and-love propaganda, is a complete and utter fraud. Nobody in the Eurocracy is actually elected by voters. European voters are completely helpless, and national parliaments are constantly yielding power to the appointed bureaucracy in Brussels. All EU propaganda consists of barefaced lies. This is a mass psychiatric problem — self-delusion being the biggest sign of neurosis.

Reality distortion is always the key. Narcissistic grandiosity is simply the boastful lie that such people tell themselves to compensate for nagging feelings of inferiority. Badly depressed people have the opposite problem: They are cruelly self-critical. True psychotics suffer from extremely disturbing auditory hallucinations, and paranoids suffer from a host of delusional suspicions. But they all suffer from a distorted sense of reality.

T.S. Eliot wrote that “Humankind cannot bear too much reality.” But how can you help more than 300 million people who are constantly indoctrinated in the newest grandiose-narcissistic-imperialistic dream of the ruling class? Narcissists only improve when they finally realize that they keep running into the same brick wall, over and over again. It’s very hard to change individual narcissists, and when a whole media culture turns into a narcissistic cult…

Massive delusion via the media is always the first sign of a European disaster in the making. The musical Cabaret takes place in the Weimar Republic before Hitler, when Europe went through the same kind of self-loathing and self-sabotage that we saw in “multiculturalism.” But the disease goes back before the French Revolution, which was also preceded by a cultural breakdown. Marquis de Sade wrote several of his books around the time of the French Revolution.

When Europe sneezes, America catches cold. Our university campuses are full of Eurosocialist propaganda artists pretending to be professors. Barack Obama and his fellow leftists are just as deeply indoctrinated: Eurosocialists verging on old-style Leninists. Obama has never really known any normal people, which is why he still believes exactly what he believed eight years ago.

Our media are mental plague carriers. While journalists used to learn their craft by doing it, today they first have to go through cult indoctrination at Columbia or Harvard. Which is why we have actors wearing trenchcoats instead of television news anchors, and a grandiose narcissist in the White House.

The European Union was founded by French bureaucrat Jean Monnet. It began as a free trade area, becoming a great economic success.

But prosperity was never good enough for the bureaucracy. In some half-hidden way the EU has charted a path to a new European Empire, the old, delusional dream of making Europe a great power again.

All for the sake of world peace, of course.

Is There an Epidemic of Narcissism Today?

Posted by addisethiopia / አዲስ ኢትዮጵያ on January 14, 2013

Is the United States facing an epidemic of narcissism?

Meet the most narcissistic ‘I’ & ‘ME’ generation ever

A psychologist who’s been researching how personality is changing across the generations has coined the term ‘Generation Me’ to reflect this trend. Professor Jean Twenge from San Diego State University in California captured the changing attitudes of students from data collected as far back as the 1960s. She says our culture used to encourage modesty and humility – but that now self-confidence is seen as the key to success

The evidence comes in two forms: Changes among individuals, and changes in the culture.

Although these seem like a random collection of current trends, all are rooted in a single underlying shift in American culture: the relentless rise of narcissism, a very positive and inflated view of self. Narcissists believe they are better than others, lack emotionally warm and caring relationships, constantly seek attention, and treasure material wealth and physical appearance. In The Narcissism Epidemic: Living in the Age of Entitlement, psychologists and professors Jean Twenge and W. Keith Campbell draw from empirical research and cultural analysis to expose the destructive spread of narcissism. Perhaps most important, they also discuss treatment – what each of us can do to stop the epidemic of narcissism so corrosive to society.

The increase in narcissism was stronger for women than for men in both datasets. Men are still more narcissistic than women on average, but women are catching up fast. This makes some sense, as a lot of the cultural push toward narcissism (see below) has a bigger effect on girls and women.

Then there’s the shocking data recently released by researchers from the National Institutes of Health. They surveyed a nationally representative sample of 35,000 Americans about symptoms that can add up to Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD), the more severe, clinical form of the trait. They asked if someone had ever experienced these symptoms in their lifetime, so you’d expect that older people would have a much higher rate than younger people since they’ve lived more years. However, the data go the opposite direction: Only 3% of people over 65 had ever experienced NPD, compared to nearly 10% of people in their twenties. It’s possible that older people forgot some symptoms from earlier in their lives, but that would have to be a large amount of forgetting to account for this big a discrepancy. With almost 1 out of 10 people in their twenties already experiencing NPD, it’s sobering to realize how high that number might go in the coming decades.

There have also been big changes in behavior – cultural changes that are often started by more narcissistic people and then draw in the less narcissistic. Plastic surgery and procedures are up by a factor of six in just ten years. Materialistic attitudes have increased, and people are more willing to go into debt to afford the best – right now. Celebrity gossip magazines are more popular while the circulation of other magazines and newspapers have plummeted. My favorite anecdotal example: It is now possible to hire fake paparazzi to follow you around when you go out at night so you can pretend you’re famous. This was unheard of just five years ago.

So the whole society has become more narcissistic – not just the people, but our entire value system.

Re-posted with an update to the above, November 22, 2012 post:

We are raising a generation of deluded narcissists

A new analysis of the American Freshman Survey, which has accumulated data for the past 47 years from 9 million young adults, reveals that college students are more likely than ever to call themselves gifted and driven to succeed, even though their test scores and time spent studying are decreasing.

Psychologist Jean Twenge, the lead author of the analysis, is also the author of a study showing that the tendency toward narcissism in students is up 30 percent in the last thirty-odd years.
This data is not unexpected.  I have been writing a great deal over the past few years about the toxic psychological impact of media and technology on children, adolescents and young adults, particularly as it regards turning them into faux celebrities—the equivalent of lead actors in their own fictionalized life stories.

On Facebook, young people can fool themselves into thinking they have hundreds or thousands of “friends.” They can delete unflattering comments. They can block anyone who disagrees with them or pokes holes in their inflated self-esteem. They can choose to show the world only flattering, sexy or funny photographs of themselves (dozens of albums full, by the way), “speak” in pithy short posts and publicly connect to movie stars and professional athletes and musicians they “like.”

Using Twitter, young people can pretend they are worth “following,” as though they have real-life fans, when all that is really happening is the mutual fanning of false love and false fame.

Using computer games, our sons and daughters can pretend they are Olympians, Formula 1 drivers, rock stars or sharpshooters.  And while they can turn off their Wii and Xbox machines and remember they are really in dens and playrooms on side streets and in triple deckers around America, that is after their hearts have raced and heads have swelled with false pride for “being” something they are not.
