No Food, Water And Fuel: The Horrific Journey Of 15 Migrants From Libya To Europe As Told By Lone Survivor
Mohammed Oga
Mohammed Oga was the only one who survived on the voyage from Libya to Europe. There were fifteen people on board, including a pregnant woman
First, their fuel ran out. Next, was their food. And then their water. And then one by one, fourteen out of the fifteen people (including a pregnant woman) on the canoe they were aboard, took their last breath and were toppled overboard.
Mohammed Adam Oga, the lone survivor, was spotted and picked up in Maltese waters on Monday, August 19, after the European Border and Coast Guard Agency, Frontex, spotted a dinghy adrift at sea, reports the BBC.
Footage of the rescue by Malta’s armed forces showed Oga slumped over a man’s body before he was airlifted to hospital.
According to the story, each migrant had paid a smuggler $700 to aid them in making the journey from Libya to Europe in the open sea and in the scorching heat of the Central Mediterranean, which is one of the deadliest stretches of water in the world.
38-year-old Oga, who describes himself as an exiled Ethiopian politician from former rebel group, the Oromo Liberation Front, said he decided to make the journey after he was contacted by friends from Germany.
He told the Times of Malta that once in Libya, he met a Somali named Ismail and together they arranged their passage via a smuggler.
And then, on August 1, having been given the GPS and showed where to head towards, they set off from the Libyan city of Zawia, 45km (28 miles) west of the capital, Tripoli, he said.
The fifteen people on board comprised of a man and a pregnant woman from Ghana, two men from Ethiopia, and 11 Somalis, he added.
Mohammed Oga described the moment after which they run out of fuel, food and water, as a desperate situation as they tried in vain to get help from boats and helicopters passing by.
“We were at sea for 11 days. We started drinking sea water. After five days, two people died. Then every day, two more died.”
Oga described his survival as a ‘God-sent.’
“God sent the Maltese to save me,” he told Times of Malta, while being attached to a drip and too weak to walk.
Narrating his ordeal to the Times of Malta, Oga demonstrated, by slowly closing his eyes, how each fellow passenger of his died.
One by one, almost everybody on the boat died, leaving him with Ismail. “Ismail said, ‘Everyone is dead now. Why would we live?”
“They died in the boat. It was sunny, hot. No food and no water. Ismail said we should put the bodies in the sea. We took the bodies and threw them in the water. The bodies were smelling.”

A critically ill Mohammed leans over the dead body of his friend Ismail before the rescue on Monday
Oga narrated how at one point, Ismail became frustrated, going as far as asking that they both die together but he refused. Not long after that, Ismail also died.
He remembers the last days of his journey like being a dream although he does not remember his rescue and was unaware that Ismail had died.
Mohammed Oga, according to the BBC, believes he faces arrest if he returns to Ethiopia because his former rebel group is outlawed. He left 15 years ago, first for Eritrea and then Sudan, and wants to travel to the UK.
According to the UN, 839 people have died trying to cross the Mediterranean, making it the most dangerous sea route for refugees and migrants in the world.
Mohammed is one of more than 40,000 people who have survived crossing the treacherous Mediterranean to Europe’s coasts this year, including 1,000 to Malta.
Not only are European governments aware of the “systematic abuse” and “appalling conditions” that migrants are exposed to by Libyan authorities, they are also involved in these crimes, Amnesty International has claimed in a recent report.
In an attempt to contain the influx of sea-borne migrants and refugees, the EU member states “actively” contribute to “a sophisticated system of abuse and exploitation of refugees and migrants by the Libyan Coast Guard, detention authorities and smugglers”, Amnesty International said on Tuesday.
Tortured. Raped. Sold.
Rescued? No.
“Hundreds of thousands of refugees and migrants trapped in Libya are at the mercy of Libyan authorities, militias, armed groups and smugglers, often working seamlessly together for financial gain,” said Amnesty’s Europe Director, John Dalhuisen. An estimated 20,000 people are currently kept in “these overcrowded, unsanitary detention centers,” where “torture is rife,” the group reports.
Held in detention for three months, a man from Gambia told Amnesty about the suffering he endured: “In the center they don’t give food. They beat me with a rubber hose, because they want money to release me. They call the family while beating [you] so the family send money”.
Another man, from Nigeria, named “Victor”, described the fear he felt before setting off from Libya. “I had heard stories of Libyans arresting people at sea and taking them to prison, and from there asking them to call their families to make them send money; and stories of people who had died in the sea. But I feared Libya more; in Libya they treat anyone with a dark skin as an animal…”.
People are tortured.
People are raped.
People are sold.
The EU is “complicit in these abuses”, Amnesty claims, singling out Italy. The EU governments provide support to Libya, train and equip the country’s coastguard with boats and other assistance, and clamp down on rescue efforts by the NGOs, Amnesty reports, in ‘Libya’s Dark Web of Collusion’.
“By supporting Libyan authorities in trapping people in Libya, without requiring the Libyan authorities to tackle the endemic abuse of refugees and migrants or to even recognize that refugees exist, European governments have shown where their true priorities lie: namely, the closure of the central Mediterranean route, with scant regard to the suffering caused”, Dalhuisen charged.
The European policies have proved efficient, resulting in a significant drop of sea crossings compared to last year’s figures and even to the first six months of 2017, Amnesty reports. While nearly 84,000 migrants arrived in Italy by sea in the first half of the year, some 33,288 disembarked there between July and November.
Meanwhile, 3,091 didn’t make it to the shore, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) statistics estimate.
Amnesty has urged the EU to “realize the horrific consequences of their policies of containment, recognize their unlawful nature, and reset their co-operation with Libya”, as well as to “enable people to get to Europe through legal pathways”.
The North African nation, ravaged by civil war, has turned into a launch pad for those fleeing persecution, war and poverty and making a perilous journey to Europe. The IOM identified more than 400,000 refugees in Libya, Amnesty says.

I don’t fully trust their twisted version of the story. Here the DailyMail reported about it this way.
Doomed By Their Last Bid To Reach Europe: Migrants Sink Their Own Boat After Crashing It Into The Side Of A Tunisian Fishing Trawler They Mistook For The Coast Guard

Video shows migrants drowning after their dinghy comes aside a trawler
Human traffickers apparently mistook the trawler for a coastguard ship
A voice on board the ship shouts in Italian for the migrants to keep calm
A shocking video has emerged of a dinghy packed with migrants sinking in the Mediterranean after they mistook a Tunisian trawler for a coastguard ship.
The footage appeared on the internet today and comes as the Italian coastguard warned that eight people had died and many more were missing after another migrant boat went down in the Mediterranean.
It is not clear if the footage is from this week or from the summer but it clearly shows the large white dinghy aiming itself at the ship.
It comes alongside the trawler and, as the migrants desperately try to climb up the side of the fishing vessel, the dinghy capsizes and dozens are thrown into the sea.
Many of the migrants clearly cannot swim and only a handful are wearing lifebelts.
As a man onboard the trawler’s deck shouts in Italian: ‘Calma (Stay calm)’ the situation gets worse and eventually the bodies of people who have clearly drowned can be seen floating on the surface.
The video was uploaded onto Youtube, where a commentator says: ‘The crew were reluctant to help since letting them on board would have been a serious security risk as it would have them outnumbered 10 to 1.
‘The only way to help would be individuals of the crew rappelling down to to the sea line, which would most likely result in their own death as the immigrants would drag them down.’
The Italian coastguard has a policy of escorting to shore any migrants it finds at sea and it is thought those on the migrant boat thought they would be rescued and taken to Italy if their boat capsized next to the ship. They were unaware it was just a fishing vessel operating out of a Tunisian port.
Now here is something valuable for the world, for Africans, in particular, to document and report to The Almighty: Except for two or three of the comments, the vast majority of them is meant to devastate and dehumanize Africans. Mind you, it is the Arabs who are abusing, stealing, raping and murdering them, but the Bogeyman will always remain the African. Well, they’re united in Godlessness and hatred. The governments, the parties and the medias had done a very successful job in conditioning and preparing the unrepentant and easily manipulable folks for future cruelty and genocide – and, everywhere, the level of hatred is rising – and this genocide will be carried out, first and foremost, against us Africans and Christians.
Selected comments:
The title implies that they are deliberately sinking their own boat, but it looks more like they accidentally/carelessly capsized it in their frenzy to try and climb aboard the ship.
There are people drowned in matter of minutes, and I don’t understand the fucking why their boat was destroyed. This is beyond retarded and tragic.
All those excuses just so you can post a video of you watching people drown and sit there do nothing as they die, good job, you’re a piece of human shit.
Why would they help parasites survive? I was honestly expecting them to start shooting at the niggers so they died faster
lol why this Nigger beasts drown in less than a minute? Swimming is not hard.
There is plenty of space in the sea. Better put them there than let them come to europe.
LMAO Made my night. Watching African invaders drown while drinking California wine. Yes God is indeed great.
Looks like only whitey has been guilted into helping Africans.
What is going to happen in 100 years when Europe is majority Arab?
True story: Arab slave masters used to castrate their African slaves so they could not reproduce.
Looks like worms crawling all over each other
Arabs side with blacks and cry to stop racism only when they are in white countries so that they can take advantage!! Back in muslimland they hate blacks much more than whites ever did. WAKE UP!
The lifeboat just sitting there on deck while the arabs throw nets at them
And nothing of value was lost. Except maybe the clothes.
HAHAHAA fucking rats!! i wish i could be there throwing stones at these diving rapists! i watch this beautiful video when i feel sad.
People wonder why so many dead fish on the beaches now I know the answer
I am in favor of genocide. Either we do it! Or they (including the Jews who lead this genocide against us) do it to us!
We must eradicate all of them, what are they good for? Africa is huge and has lot’s of resources. Africans??? Why should we allow them to live (in Europe at least)? They are even more inferior than fucking Arabs (They must go too)! Eradicate em’ all! When they invade Europe, bomb the boats and record the few surviving drown and spread it all over the internet! That will show them that they are not welcome in THE WHITE MAN’S LAND! After we have secured our survival as a people 1488 (removing all non-Whites in Europe) we should colonize the whole of Africa (for the expansion of our race & for the resources we need) and if we need the Africans back in slavery we can do that, they’ve fucked our women and helped destory our culture & people. No more tolerance, we are in a racial war. Either we man up or go extinct! It’s almost like National Socialism isn’t enough, we need National Socialism on steroids!
These are people dying. And you /pol/ users and assorted racists are cheering it on. Regardless of your political leanings or views on migrants, you are honestly sick in the head to be praising anyone’s death. You folks make me sad. Raised online in your echo chambers and acting like you have no humanity. You watch people dying and laugh about it. The hate and disease in your souls is terrifying. Thank god none of you will ever be in any kind of position of authority or power in your lives, or at least we can only hope. You don’t know what happiness is.
Yall joking and shit….but one thing yall dumbasses dont realize….yall msking jokes about fucking africans and calling them the enemy…when jesus was a black man….sooooo. have fun with that knowledge now racist retarded fucks

A boat carrying almost 600 people capsized off Egypt’s coast on Wednesday, killing at least 43, in the latest disaster among migrants trying to reach Europe.
The boat sank in the Mediterranean Sea off Burg Rashid, a village in the northern Beheira province. Officials said 31 bodies had been found, 20 men, 10 women and one child. A Reuters correspondent later saw a fishing boat bring in 12 more bodies, bringing the total so far to 43.
Rescue workers have so far saved 154 people, officials said, meaning about 400 could still be missing.
The boat had been carrying Egyptian, Sudanese, Eritrean, and Somali migrants, officials said.

Forty Children Drown as Shipwrecks Claim up to 700 – Again, Mostly Eritreans / Ethiopians
Do we witness such tragedies occurring at the Aegean sea? Do we hear reports Syrians, Iraqis, Iranians, Afghanis or Pakistanis dying on sea in such a tragic way? No! No way! It’s Africans they are drowning out, it’s Christians they are murdering. The ‘EurArabians’ are working hard filtering out Africans and Christians to accelerate the ‘Only Muslim’ takeover of Europe. Remember, it was on this very day, 29 May 1453 that the Orthodox Christian capital, Constantinople fell to the Muslim Turks.
I talked to a nice danish lady the other day, who told me that she stopped eating fish from the Mediterranean sea.
A week of shipwrecks and death in the Mediterraneanculminated Sunday with harrowing testimony from migrant survivors who said another 500 people including 40 children had drowned, bringing the number of feared dead to 700.
Brought to safety in the Italian ports of Taranto and Pozzallo , survivors told the UN’s refugee agency (UNHCR) and Save the Children how their boat sank on Thursday morning after a high-seas drama which saw one woman decapitated.
“We’ll never know the exact number, we’ll never know their identity, but survivors tell that over 500 human beings died,” Carlotta Sami, UNHRC spokeswoman, said on Twitter.
With some 100 people missing after a boat sank Wednesday, and 45 bodies recovered from a wreck that happened Friday, the UNHCR said it feared up to 700 people had drowned in the Mediterranean this week.
Giovanna Di Benedetto, Save the Children’s spokesperson in Sicily, told AFP it was impossible to verify the numbers involved but survivors of Thursday’s wreck spoke of around 1,100 people setting out from Libya on Wednesday in two fishing boats and a dinghy.
“The first boat, carrying some 500 people, was reportedly towing the second, which was carrying another 500. But the second boat began to sink. Some people tried to swim to the first boat, others held onto the rope linking the vessels,” she said.
According to the survivors, the first boat’s Sudanese captain cut the rope, which snapped back and decapitated a woman. The second boat quickly sank, taking those packed tightly into the hold down with it.
The Sudanese was arrested on his arrival in Pozzallo along with three other suspected people traffickers, Italian media reports said.
“We tried everything to stop the water, to bail it out of the boat,” a Nigerian girl told cultural mediators, according to La Stampa daily.
“We used our hands, plastic glasses. For two hours we fought against the water but it was useless. It began to flood the boat, and those below deck had no chance. Woman, men, children, many children, were trapped, and drowned,” she said.
Those who survived told mediators the dead included “around 40 children, including many newborns”, La Repubblica daily said.
“I saw my mother and 11-year old sister die,” Kidane from Eritrea, 13, told the aid organisations. “There were bodies everywhere”.
A bout of good weather as summer arrives has kicked off a fresh stream of boats attempting to make the perilous crossing from Libya to Italy.
Italian news agency Ansa said some 70 dinghies and 10 boats had set off over the past week.
Migrants interviewed by La Repubblica in Sicily told the daily a new “head trafficker” called Osama had taken control of departures from Libya’s beaches and was offering “cut-price” deals of 400 euros for the boat journey to lure in new customers.
Roughly a week ago, first, it was reported that 16Ethiopian Christians were beheaded in Libya by Islamic warriors. The next day we heard that ISIS massacred16 Real Madrid supporters in Iraq café. I asked myself then, “16 here, 16 there…one 6 missing, what should we expect for the 16th of May 2016?” Well, it happened…three days later, but it did happen: EgyptAir plane that made serious of sharp turns before it disappeared became a terrorist target; 66 passengers were”sacrificed” — and the 666 puzzle completed. One unresolved puzzle though, why do plane accidents and crashes always get a more intensive 24-hour Breaking News attention than road and rail accidents and casualties?
