Mainstream Media Fake News Feeding Frenzy To Take Down Trump

Posted by addisethiopia / አዲስ ኢትዮጵያ on February 17, 2017

How serious has the war gotten between Donald Trump’s White House and the government he supposedly runs?

Gizmodo – a website that deals with science and technology as well as politics – has launched a new site to encourage government employees to leak damning information about the Trump administration. TellonTrump.com is the subject of a massive advertising campaign on Facebook and will give government turncoats a safe and secure means of passing along damaging documents.

Wall Street Journal:

“One thing we know about Donald Trump is that there are a lot of things Donald Trump doesn’t want people to know about. If you’ve reached this page, you might have information about the conduct of Donald Trump or his administration that you’d like people to know about. Here’s how you can tell us,” the site explains.

The Univision Communications Inc.-owned media group, which operates sites like Fusion and the former Gawker Media sites like Gizmodo, Deadspin and Jezebel, started running ads on the social media platform within the last week that specifically target people who list certain government agencies as their employers. The ads don’t specify which news outlet is running the campaign, but the site which the ads point to clearly identifies the Gizmodo special projects desk.

“We are targeting people who are employed by federal agencies because we want them to know that if they see or know about something they think is newsworthy, we are here for them,” said John Cook, Gizmodo’s head of investigations.

Mr. Cook said Gizmodo is also working to purchase bus shelter ads near certain government agencies in Washington, D.C., encouraging people to contact them with information about the Trump administration.

Amazing, incredible – frightening. The German word that describes what’s going on is Götterdämmerung – a “cataclysmic downfall or momentous, apocalyptic event, especially of a regime or an institution.” Trump’s enemies are willing to tear the entire country down in order to destroy the president. The fact that they will destroy the presidency and the country in the process is regrettable but worth it because Trump is…well, evil.

John Podhoretz:

I am myself unnerved by the evidence of high-level lawlessness in the Flynn matter, but a “coup d’etat” refers specifically to a military ouster of a leader, not a leak-driven campaign using the press to nail someone. This is sure to persist, though, if the Flynn-Russia matter accelerates—and if the reluctant House and Senate do begin investigating the matter in earnest. If the language surrounding the investigation remains florid and purple, if Democrats try to please their Trump-hating constituents by screaming impeachment and liberal media tries to garner audience by jumping openly and vociferously on the bandwagon, the Trumpians will respond in kind by stirring the pot through their media and their argumentation.

The result might well be violence. Not rhetorical violence. Actual violence. Actual political violence. Actual conflicts between anti-Trumpers and Trumpers. At demonstrations. In the streets. Of our cities. Political violence of a sort we haven’t seen in 50 years, and maybe haven’t really seen in this country in the modern era. Those who believe Trump is a unique menace whose threat to our democratic way of life will be met with those who believe the elites are using illicit means to oust the legitimately elected president of the United States.

This is not a fantasy. This is one possible future. And every rational person who cares about the future of the country should be mindful of it, and should work to forestall it.

The media feeding frenzy is unprecedented – and that’s saying a lot. To read most of the media stories the last 48 hours, you would think Trump is a heartbeat away from impeachment, resignation, or an internal revolution. Hysterical hit pieces like this N.Y. Times anonymously sourced, non-specific story about Trump campaign aides talking with senior Russian intelligence officials “around the same time they were discovering evidence that Russia was trying to disrupt the presidential election by hacking into the Democratic National Committee” are fueling an innuendo-driven storyline that Trump aides – and possibly Trump himself – committed treason by colluding with Russians to elect Trump president.

Except the Times story also states flatly, “The officials interviewed in recent weeks said that, so far, they had seen no evidence of such cooperation.” In other words, there is no story. In fact, the “evidence” in the story comes to the Times as hearsay – the reporter talked to someone who knows something about intercepts and communications between Trump’s people and the Russians.

Why weren’t the Times reporters given access to the actual intercepts? Why didn’t the Times report which campaign aides were in contact with the Russians? If no evidence exists of collusion, just what the hell was the Times doing publishing this blatant innuendo and smear?

This is what passes for “journalism” in the age of Trump. Evidence is not necessary. An active imagination is.

And now we learn that the intel agencies are withholding information from the president of the United States because they don’t trust him.

Wall Street Journal:

U.S. intelligence officials have withheld sensitive intelligence from President Donald Trump because they are concerned it could be leaked or compromised, according to current and former officials familiar with the matter.

The officials’ decision to keep information from Mr. Trump underscores the deep mistrust that has developed between the intelligence community and the president over his team’s contacts with the Russian government, as well as the enmity he has shown toward U.S. spy agencies. On Wednesday, Mr. Trump accused the agencies of leaking information to undermine him.

In some of these cases of withheld information, officials have decided not to show Mr. Trump the sources and methods that the intelligence agencies use to collect information, the current and former officials said. Those sources and methods could include, for instance, the means that an agency uses to spy on a foreign government.

A White House official said: “There is nothing that leads us to believe that this is an accurate account of what is actually happening.”

A spokesman for the Office of Director of National Intelligence said: “Any suggestion that the U.S. intelligence community is withholding information and not providing the best possible intelligence to the president and his national security team is not true.”

Intelligence officials have in the past not told a president or members of Congress about the ins and outs of how they ply their trade. At times, they have decided that secrecy is essential for protecting a source, and that all a president needs to know is what that source revealed and what the intelligence community thinks is important about it.

Are you getting this? Intelligence officials are withholding information from the president – just as they have with other presidents. In short, once again, there is no story. This is what is known in the business as “stirring the pot” – generating what appears to be “news” that, in fact, is business as usual.

The catalyst for this feeding frenzy was Michael Flynn’s incredible lapse in judgment in speaking to the Russian government and then lying about it. But the Flynn resignation has taken on a larger symbolism – it is a metaphor for the “chaos” that exists in the White House.

How much of this is true and how much is invention?

CNN:

The head of US Special Operations Command said Tuesday that the US government is in “unbelievable turmoil,” a situation that he suggested could undermine US efforts to fight adversaries such as ISIS.

“Our government continues to be in unbelievable turmoil. I hope they sort it out soon because we’re a nation at war,” Army Gen. Raymond “Tony” Thomas told a symposium in Maryland.

While it wasn’t exactly clear what Thomas was referring to, his remarks come less than 24 hours after retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn was forced to step down as national security adviser, becoming by far the shortest tenured adviser in history.

Thomas oversees America’s elite Special Operations troops, including Navy SEALs and Army Green Berets, which have played a large role in carrying out the nation’s conflicts since 9/11.

Asked later about his comments, Thomas, a veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, said: “As a commander, I’m concerned our government be as stable as possible.

This is extraordinary, considering that CNN admits “it wasn’t exactly clear what Thomas was referring to.” If it’s “not exactly clear” why report the damn story in the first place?!

Thomas should be at least disciplined and perhaps fired for commenting on politics while on active duty. What does he know about Washington politics sitting in his office at SOCOM headquarters in Florida? His indiscretion has given ammunition to the political enemies of his commander in chief. As a senior military commander, he should have known better.

These are just a sampling of the over-the-top, exaggerated, hysterical reporting done that is deliberately, consciously being created to undermine and eventually destroy a legitimately elected president. It’s never been done on this scale before. Fed by social media and the interconnectedness of the internet, Donald Trump is facing a challenge far greater than Richard Nixon faced when his presidency began to unravel. And the speed at which the attacks are rolling downhill is making it difficult – if not impossible – for Trump and his people to turn the situation around.

When CNN & Co Have Become as Corrupt & Disgraceful as Aljezeera & North Korean Central Television

Folks, it is beyond repulsive and stomach turning watching our Leftist enemies deceptively promoting this evil woman as an angel of light

Hillary Clinton: America’s Most Dangerous Enemy Within

From Florida, I flew out to Reno to entertain at the 2016 Nevada Women’s Expo. In between my shows, I made pit-stops in my hotel room. Folks, I could hardly believe what I was seeing. Every news TV channel I turned to was beating the crap out of Trump trying to brand him an abuser of women. Leaked Hillary emails have revealed that the mainstream media gets its marching orders from the Clinton campaign.

Thus, the media fix is in: portray Trump in a red hoodie with a pitchfork; portray wicked-crooked Hillary as angelic, wearing a pure white flowing gown. Never have I seen such a shock-and-awe orchestrated media campaign to demonize a candidate.

On the issue of “abuse of women”, if we had a fair and balanced mainstream media rather than operatives of the Clinton campaign, Hillary’s advisers would have begged her, “Pleeeeease Ma’am, don’t go there!!!” Hillary and Bill’s records of abusing women is horrific (assault, rape, Hillary humiliating a 12- year-old girl to get her rapist off and more). And yet, the Clintons arrogantly know they can get away with attempting to brand Trump an abuser of women while they belong in the Infamous Abusers of Women Hall of Shame.

Folks, it is beyond repulsive and stomach turning watching our Leftist enemies deceptively promoting this evil woman as an angel of light.

Work for the Mainstream Media? You Should Kill Yourself

FreeMediaThe American media is now no better than its predecessors at Pravda or the Nazi Ministry of Propaganda; reporters have become nothing but lying packs of jackals holding onto what perks they can and dutifully obeying the call to lick the peanut butter off of master’s nether-regions. They sit when they should hunt, roll over when they should bark, and play dead whenever tidbits of truth break the fence and coming roaring out of emails or foreign correspondence.

We live in an age where the Daily Show attempts(terribly might I add) to poke fun at Wikileaks, where CNN tells viewers it’s “illegal” to read the truth about their government, and even Bruce Springsteen gets wheeled out to try to convince people that this country isn’t a rigged, bullshit puppet show.

The sheer amount of shit being dumped down the throats of the American populace should inspire any human with blood still pumping through their veins to take flamethrowers to every government building and start hanging people from streetlights with their own intestines.

And yet….we don’t. The American people will line up on election day, just as they have every one before that, and take part in a grand collective illusion that they are helping guide history. They will smile as they are handed small stickers that say “I voted” and for the next 12 hours they’ll become amateur civics professors even though a hilarious amount of them don’t really know what the fuck their voting for anyway.

All those cool movies and ideologies assure us that if we just jam “the truth” into enough people’s faces they’ll suddenly wake up, detach, and reach some political Nirvana as if thousands of years of slavery are all just some big misunderstanding. That moment came and went with this election. What did “the people,” that weird herd everyone from Libertarians to Communists look to court do?

They go about their daily lives. But are they innocent? They aren’t oblivious, they’ve smelled something foul but for them it’s just too much trouble. They will serve, even gleefully so, as long as they get a big show every four years that makes them feel like they matter.

The Bourgeoisie, the powerful, know this. They exploit it.

Well, We All Knew What Was Coming

Posted by addisethiopia / አዲስ ኢትዮጵያ on July 16, 2016

“Yes-ss, man-cub, please go to sleep, please go to sleep, sleep little man-cub rest in piece. Sleep. Ss-sleep”

There it is: Two days later, they are telling us that the NICE murderer was depressed about the break-up of his marriage ‘he drank alcohol, ate pork and took drugs. He was not a Muslim – he was a shit’: Truck terrorist’s cousin reveals he is an ‘unlikely jihadist’ who beat his wife and never went to the mosque.

So, relatives of the truck driver call him a shit because he didn’t observe the laws of Islam? If they think their own relatives are shits for not observing Islam then it says a whole lot of they view every other non-Muslims:

It’s known that the ‘sinning’ are the most dangerous, as they will commit Jihad to make up for their sins. Those carrying out Jihad are allowed not to follow the rules to help blend in an “Infidel” society. The sinning Muslims are the most dangerous, as they will commit Jihad to make up for their sins.

You know, the Dallas police shooter (if there was any: a ‘Manchurian Candidate’) was described within hours by the Dallas police chief himself: The Black Suspect ‘hates white people‘ and ‘wants to kill them’. There you have it!

Have you all seen the gruesome scene from NICE: carnage on the road, bodies everywhere, including children. After seeing all this, any attempt and excuse Muslims and their allies make in order to defend their barbaric cult is evil and sickening!

The world is in a very intense spiritual warfare, where Muslims are sacrificing non-Muslims and themselves on a daily basis for their evil god. Yet, who frequently appear on the mainstream news to explain things to us are the so-called “counter-terror experts”. These experts don’t want us to know the truth, because it drums up business for them. They want no end to terrorism, because they can sell their good-for-nothing books, and people will pay them to give soft talks on terrorism, as they’ll be asked to appear on mainstream news. Even a child can see what is going on, no one needs to read those empty books or listen to the monotonous analysis of the wicked experts.

Whether we like it or not: 99.9 % of “True Muslims” hate everyone of us and themselves (They have to!) This is the bare naked truth they desperately attempt to conceal from us.

French Lawmakers Told Bataclan Terrorists Tortured, Disemboweled Victims

According to this testimony, Wahhabist killers apparently gouged out eyes, castrated victims, and shoved their testicles in their mouths. They may also have disemboweled some poor souls. Women were stabbed in the genitals – and the torture was, victims told police, filmed for Daesh or Islamic State propaganda.

Africa is The West’s Greatest Antipathy

Posted by addisethiopia / አዲስ ኢትዮጵያ on March 23, 2015

“We have not found among the Europeans who have become our neighbors and who desire our welfare and independence. The West Europeans in their desire for new land have encircled us crossed our borders to deprive us of our independence and are causing us trouble” Ras Makonnen – cousin of Menilek ll. June 1892

President Barack Obama marked the Persian New year, ‘Nowruz’ with a special video message to Iranians. The First Lady Michelle Obama hosted a celebration of the Persian new year, at the White House. Even Google celebrated the Iranian New Year Navroz with a colorful doodle on its homepage.

I agree with the author of this article who wrote, “there is absolutely nothing wrong with honoring the many events celebrated within this magnificent e pluribus unum melting pot of ours. The problem is that this is not about honoring a group of people who make up less than 1% of our population.”

The question I want to ask as an African – as an Ethiopian – is, why haven’t the “African-American” President Obama, First Lady Michelle or Google never ever honored on the 11th of September the one truly African traditional New Year’s celebration – the Ethiopian New Year? Why don’t they extend their best wishes to the great ancient and honorable people of Ethiopia? Not that it matters, but, being curious, do Ethiopians have to abandon their Judaeo-Christian identity, or constantly demonize Americans (the great Satan) like the Iranians nicknamed them, do they have to terrorize Westerners, infiltrate their institutions, bomb their embassies, take hostages or force them out of the country to earn their attention and respect? Do bulling and terror sell?

It gets even more curious…

‘Black’ Africa Ain’t a Priority

Recently, CNN military analyst, Maj. Gen. James “Spider” Marks revealed a controversial perspective on why the Boko Haram atrocities are ignored

According to him, the United States has the capability to root out Boko Haram but it’s not a priority. He also stated that Black West Africa is not a priority. He goes on to state that if Boko Haram were in some other region of the world perhaps in “White Africa” (North Africa) or in the Middle East, it would cause more alarm.

Very stark, very hard to say, but that’s the case right now,” he said.

French Cynicism: Africa gets priority when it comes to demonization of its people, intimidation and murder of its elites

French international broadcaster went down to Ethiopia to report on the Great Renaissance Dam. It came back with nothing new, but with the usual french cynicism concerning Africa and Africans. After all, cynicism is perfected by the French – as it emerged in the works of leading french atheist “Enlightenment” philosophers, such as Jean-Jacques Rousseau and Denis Diderot.

Today’s France practically finds itself in a state of stealth cultural war with Arab Muslim invaders. It really strikes me, instead of dealing directly with this scourge, the French continue babysitting North Africans, training them to persecute French Jews, expel them from their ancestral homes, work together with the same Arabs to destabilize parts of the African continent. Mali, DRC, CAR etc are just some of the tragic hotspots where la petit “Grand Nation” has used the Arab useful idiots to demonstrate their outdated interventionist culture and control mechanism. They arrange a well orchestrated chaos and destruction plan in order to play the “savior” card. In the Ethiopian case – with the report on the Renaissance Dam – the French don’t hide their intention to undermine the development of the Ethiopian nation — which never showed enmity towards France and its people. In this cynical report the French attempt to paint too much negativity around the dam construction project – simply primitive anti-Ethiopian propaganda – an ugly disinformation campaign on behalf of Egypt.

Will President Obama Tell The Saudis to Respect Human Rights And Allow Churches?

Posted by addisethiopia / አዲስ ኢትዮጵያ on March 22, 2014

Obama and the Churches of Saudi Arabia

WorldUpsideDown

When President Obama visits Saudi Arabia next week, he will have an opportunity to follow through on his inspiring words at the Feb. 6. National Prayer Breakfast. There, he told thousands of Christian leaders that “the right of every person to practice their faith how they choose” is central to “human dignity,” and so “promoting religious freedom is a key objective of U.S. foreign policy.”

The freedom so central to human dignity is denied by the Kingdom. The State Department has long ranked Saudi Arabia among the world’s most religiously repressive governments, designating it a “Country of Particular Concern” under the International Religious Freedom Act. Yet the Obama administration, like its predecessors, has not pressed Riyadh to respect religious freedom.

Saudi Arabia is the only state in the world to ban all churches and any other non-Muslim houses of worship. While Saudi nationals are all “officially” Muslim, some two to three million foreign Christians live in the kingdom, many for decades. They have no rights to practice their faith. The Saudi government has ignored Vatican appeals for a church to serve this community, despite the fact that in 1973 Pope Paul VI approved a proposal for the Roman city council to donate city lands for a grand mosque in Rome. The mosque, opened in 1995, is among the largest in Europe.

Christian foreign workers in Saudi Arabia can only pray together clandestinely. Religious-police dragnets against scores of Ethiopian house-church Christians, mostly poor women working as maids, demonstrate the perils of worshiping: arrest, monthslong detention and abuse, and eventual deportation. The more fortunate do what I did when I visited three years ago—sneak off to pray in a windowless safe room behind embassy walls.

It’s difficult to hide a worship service in the tightly-controlled kingdom. The Committee to Promote Virtue and Prevent Vice, the religious police, is always looking for women and men mingling together, women who fail to conform to the state-mandated Muslim dress code, and the movements of foreigners. University of Milan Professor Camille Eid, who has worked in Jeddah, reported to the Catholic outlet Zenit in 2011 that he was afraid even to give Christmas or Easter greetings over the phone for fear “someone might be listening.”

Distributing Bibles in Saudi Arabia is illegal. Priests must go undercover, pretending to be cooks or mechanics, to celebrate underground Masses for the estimated 1.5 million Filipino, Indian and other Catholics working or living there. Crosses, rosaries and Christian literature and art must not be publicly displayed. Even the ruins of a fourth-century church in the Persian Gulf city of Jubail are kept off limits to the public and archaeologists.

The fanatical intolerance of everything Christian extends to a crackdown on red roses on Valentine’s Day. Visiting European soccer teams with cross logos must blur the icon on team jerseys. At one holiday party in the American school in Riyadh, a Santa Claus had to jump through a window to escape religious police, according to Mr. Eid’s account.

The official Saudi National Human Rights Commission director Bandar al-Aiban told me that churches are forbidden because the entire country is “a sacred mosque” for Islam’s holiest shrines in Mecca and Medina—two cities completely closed to non-Muslims. He seemed unperturbed that Saudi national borders are a modern invention dating to 1932, not to Prophet Muhammad’s era more than 1,300 years earlier.

No other country on the Arabian Peninsula adopts the Saudi anti-church stance. Qatar, which like Saudi Arabia practices strict Wahhabi Islam, allowed the first public Christian worship service in 1988 and has leased land for foreign workers to build more than a dozen churches since 2008. Last year Bahrain’s monarchy donated land for the peninsula’s first cathedral, a Catholic church called Our Lady of Arabia.

President Obama on his visit could ask King Abdullah to allow churches in the Kingdom. As the president explained in February, the right to worship is an essential human right that “matters to our national security.” Allowing a church would help foreign Christian workers and instill in Saudi society a sense of peaceful coexistence with the religious “other.” That may help us all.

The president could also call for other steps to temper national policies against Christians. Education Ministry textbooks, for example, still teach violent hatred against Christians, as well as Jews and other groups with different beliefs. A 10th-grade text tells students that homosexuals can be murdered by fire, stoning or being thrown from a high place. Saudi Arabia could also replace the state-employed religious leaders, who, the State Department reported in 2013, call for the destruction of all Arabian Peninsula churches and publicly pray for the “humiliation” of “polytheists,” a term Wahhabis apply to Christians, Shiites and Hindus.

The kingdom is now organizing internationally against Iranian and al Qaeda extremism, so this is an especially good time to implore the country to begin ending religious extremism at home. So far President Obama has only preached to the choir. In a few days he will have a chance to make his case before the Saudi king.

Why the Media Doesn’t Cover Jihadist Attacks on Middle East Christians

To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting Him to public disgrace”—[Hebrews 6:6]

MSMediaThe United Nations, Western governments, media, universities, and talking heads everywhere insist that Palestinians are suffering tremendous abuses from the state of Israel.  Conversely, the greatest human rights tragedy of our time—radical Muslim persecution of Christians, including in Palestinian controlled areas—is devotedly ignored

The facts speak for themselves. Reliable estimates indicate that anywhere from 100-200 million Christians are persecuted every year; one Christian is martyred every five minutes. Approximately 85% of this persecution occurs in Muslim majority nations. In 1900, 20% of the Middle East was Christian. Today, less than 2% is.

In one week in Egypt alone, where my Christian family emigrated, the Muslim Brotherhood launched a kristallnacht—attacking, destroying, and/or torching some 82 Christian churches (some of which were built in the 5th century, when Egypt was still a Christian-majority nation before the Islamic conquests).  Al-Qaeda’s black flag has been raised atop churches.  Christians—including priests, women and children—have been attacked, beheaded, and killed.

Nor is such persecution of Christians limited to Egypt.   From Morocco in the west to Indonesia in the east and from Central Asia to the north to sub-Saharan Africa to the south; across thousands of miles of lands inhabited by peoples who do not share the same races, languages, cultures, and/or socio-economic conditions, millions of Christians are being persecuted and in the same exact patterns.

Muslim converts to Christianity and Christian evangelists are attacked, imprisoned, and sometimes beheaded; countless churches across the Islamic world are being banned or bombed; Christian women and children are being abducted, enslaved, raped, and/or forced to renounce their faith.

Far from helping these Christian victims, U.S. policies are actually exacerbating their sufferings.  Whether in Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, or Syria, and under the guise of the U.S.-supported “Arab Spring,” things have gotten dramatically worse for Christians.  Indeed, during a recent U.S. congressional hearing, it was revealed that thousands of traumatized Syrian Christians—who, like Iraqi Christians before them are undergoing a mass exodus from their homeland—were asking “Why is America at war with us?”

The answer is that very few Americans have any clue concerning what is happening to their coreligionists.

Few mainstream media speak about the horrific persecution millions of people are experiencing simply because they wish to worship Christ in peace.

There, is of course, a very important reason why the mainstream media ignores radical Muslim persecution of Christians: if the full magnitude of this phenomenon was ever know, many cornerstones of the mainstream media—most prominent among them, that Israel is oppressive to Palestinians—would immediately crumble.

The media simply cannot portray radical Muslim persecution of Christians—which in essence and form amount to unprovoked pogroms—as a “land dispute” or a product of “grievance” (if anything, it is the ostracized and persecuted Christian minorities who should have grievances).  And because the media cannot articulate radical Islamic attacks on Christians through the “grievance” paradigm that works so well in explaining the Arab-Israeli conflict, their main recourse is not to report on them at all.

In short, Christian persecution is the clearest reflection of radical Islamic supremacism. Vastly outnumbered and politically marginalized Christians simply wish to worship in peace, and yet still are they hounded and attacked, their churches burned and destroyed, their women and children enslaved and raped. These Christians are often identical to their Muslim co-citizens, in race, ethnicity, national identity, culture, and language; there is no political dispute, no land dispute.

The only problem is that they are Christian and so, Islamists believe according to their scriptural exegesis, must be subjugated.

If mainstream media were to report honestly on Christian persecution at the hands of radical Islamists so many bedrocks of the leftist narrative currently dominating political discourse would crumble, first and foremost, the idea that radical Islamic intolerance is a product of “grievances,” and that Israel is responsible for all Jihadist terrorism against it.

In The Information Age Disinformation/Misinformation Reign

Posted by addisethiopia / አዲስ ኢትዮጵያ on November 17, 2013

My Note: In a rational world one could ask these days why governments, the united nations, the so-called humanitarian organizations and the mainstream media (including RT who made this report) are all involved in a conspiracy of silence concerning the ongoing cruel and inhuman treatment of poor Ethiopian immigrants by the Saudis. In a normal world, one would wonder why and how Saudi Arabia, one of the world’s ‘most flagrant human-rights abusers, is set to join the UN Human Rights Council. You would at least expect the weather report from ‘rainy’ Riyadh. Well, of course, we no longer live in a rational and normal world.

Thousands Protest Press Credibility in March Against Mainstream Media

MediaLiesThousands of people in the UK and US united in their rejection of mainstream media in a mass protest. Protesters targeted the headquarters of media giants like Fox News, the BBC and NBS, decrying their narrow coverage of world affairs.

The March Against Mainstream Media (MAMM) organized the international protest via social media and challenged the established media to cover it.

In a statement posted on the MAMM website, the organization said big media outlets had two options: “report on the fact that thousands of people are currently protesting outside of their buildings because they are keeping important news from the public’s eyes,” or ignore them.

Across America people turned out brandishing banners, condemning established news channels.

“Boycott the media!” one banner read in High Point California, while in Kansas city supporters of the movement wearing Anonymous masks delivered the message “America deserves the truth!”

A recurrent theme that cropped up a number of times in the US protests was the media’s coverage of the stricken nuclear plants in Fukushima Japan that were damaged in the 2010 earthquake-triggered tsunami.

“The radiation from that plant is going to reach us and affect us, not just in California but worldwide.  How is it going to affect us, how is it going to affect our water, our food supply, and our way of life?” said one protester to KMPH Fox 24.

Meanwhile in London, supporters of the anti-establishment movement gathered outside the offices of the BBC in a sit-in-style protest.

Confidence in US mainstream media has been declining sharply over the past couple of years with only 44 percent of Americans trusting mass media, according to a Gallup poll in September. The figures for this year are a slight improvement on 2012 when the survey saw trust in the media fall to a record low of 40 percent.

However, a large amount of Americans (46 percent) believe media has become too liberal, compared to only 13 percent who regard mainstream news coverage as overly conservative.

The BBC’s Christian Persecution Denial

BiaBBCWhile it is no secret that the so-called mainstream media habitually fails to report on the international phenomenon of Christian persecution, few are aware that they sometimes actively work to undermine the efforts of those who do expose it.

Consider a new report by the BBC titled “Are there really 100,000 new Christian martyrs every year?” by Ruth Alexander.

Regarding the all-important question of how many Christians around the world are killed, Alexander herself later quotes another source saying “there is no scientific number at the moment. It has not been researched and all experts in this area are very hesitant to give a figure.”

And this seems to be the real point.  Of all the questions and aspects of Christian persecution that objective researchers and reporters can explore and expose, why did the BBC pick the very one that 1) cannot be answered and 2) is ultimately irrelevant—at best academic, at worst cold and callous?

(The issue is less whether 100,000 Christians around the world are killed annually for their faith, but rather that any Christian, any human—even Alexander’s “paltry” 7,000—is being killed for their faith.)

The BBC naturally picked this “numbers” question because it best serves to minimize the specter of Christian persecution, specifically by prompting the casual reader to conclude, “Oh, well, things are certainly nowhere near as bad as I thought for Christian minorities outside the West—indeed, they’re 93% better!”

More importantly—and here we reach BBC policy—this number-crunching approach serves to exonerate the chief persecutor of Christians, the Islamic world, or, as Alexander is quick to conclude: “[t]his means we can say right away that the internet rumours of Muslims being behind the killing of 100,000 Christian martyrs are nonsense.” (Meanwhile, there’s this ongoing monthly series to deal with.)

Incidentally, since when do numbers matter to the supposedly “humanitarian-conscious” BBC and other “liberal” media where one life (provided it’s the “right” life) often gets nonstop coverage?  Would the BBC ever write a report dedicated to trying to show that the number of Palestinians killed in the conflict with Israel is actually 93% lower than widely believed?

Of course not. When it comes to the Arab-Israeli conflict, far from minimizing anything, the BBC regularly exaggerates to demonize Israel.

And therein lies the main lesson.  The BBC is not in the business of reporting facts but rather creating smokescreens, building and knocking down straw men, and chasing red herrings—all to further its narratives, in this case, that “only” 7,000-8,000 Christians are killed annually for their faith, and that the Islamic world is largely innocent—so what’s all the fuss about?

Dr Kermit Gosnell – The Silence of The Mainstream Media

Posted by addisethiopia / አዲስ ኢትዮጵያ on April 20, 2013

CrueltyHuman beings seem to have a fascination with what might be called ‘the edges of humanity’.

Observed behaviours in the animal kingdom generate theories of how we came to be as we are: we are intrigued by stories or theories about Neanderthals or Bigfoot, and we are often invited to consider that animals are ‘just like us’. Many in the animal rights movement want to blur the distinction between the human and non-human, even to the extent of conferring legal rights upon other creatures of varying degrees of sentience.

There is a similar darker fascination at the other end of the spectrum.

We devour stories about inhuman ‘monsters’ like the Moors Murderers, Jeffrey Dahmer and Dr Joseph Mengele. And when there is insufficient news of the known, we are attracted to speculative accounts of Jack the Ripper, or fictionalise human depravity, thrilling ourselves with characters like Hannibal Lecter.

With such widespread appetite and market for the cruel, the bestial, the chilling and the macabre, it is all the more remarkable that the mainstream media in both the USA and the United Kingdom have passed up on one of the most horrifying criminal cases in recent history. It is the Philadelphia trial of Dr Kermit Gosnell.

It is a story more gruesome than that of Dr Harold Shipman or Mick Philpott, and has so many aspects of shock and horror that it seems almost inconceivable that it has not attracted the attention of the tabloid press which normally falls into a feeding-frenzy when offered such widespread evidence of greed, professional malpractice, illegality, exploitation, ghoulishness and moral vacuity.

According to the Grand Jury Report in The Atlantic the doctor earned over $1.5 million a year running a clinic whose hygienic standards would shame that of a third world slum doctor.

When the FBI entered the premises in 2010, they were shocked to find it had cat faeces on the floor, blood stains on the operating couches and unsterile instruments. He routinely infected patients during operations, some with venereal disease, because he used the same instruments on multiple patients without sterilising them between operations.

There was no tested oxygen machine, the key to the emergency exit had been lost, and the resuscitation equipment did not function.

The unqualified staff he employed have given first-hand evidence of how he set them work with inadequate training to anaesthetise his patients while he wasn’t present. His drugs were often out-of-date and his staff, some as young as 15, had to manage with poor or no supervision. One of his staff described the way in which she delivered drugs and anaesthetic on a trial-and-error basis.

One of his patients died and over the years emergency treatment was needed as a result of errors that should not be made by any competent doctor. He had perforated bowels, bladders and wombs with his dirty instruments, leading to serious infection and complications. Despite a steady stream of grossly damaged women to the local hospitals, there appears to have been a conspiracy of silence among medical professionals, public health officials and, now, journalists in print and broadcast media alike.

His clinic had not been visited by health regulators for 17 years. Had they done so, his ‘house of horror’ would have been discovered earlier.

He segregated his waiting rooms, so that the white patients were marginally better managed. That, in today’s world, would normally guarantee front-page news.

He photographed his women patients’ genitals on his camera phone, ostensibly for ‘research purposes’ which he never published, and for which he had not received authorisation. He had a particular interest in third-world women who had suffered female genital mutilation: his staff heard him admiring the skill of those whose who had stitched the women’s labia together. That kind of thing normally excites the sub-editors, but even that did not have sufficient news-value to bring Dr Gosnell into the mainstream press.

Not even his cavalier management of medical waste shocked the mainstream media. Human tissue was found sealed in plastic bags, refrigerators and jars for no medical or scientific reason.

His staff were corrupted by his standards and callousness. Employee abuse would ordinarily excite some media interest, comment, and inquiry as to how ordinary citizens can be drawn into the kind of blind compliance and moral degeneracy that was once seen in places like Auschwitz and Dachau.

Yet, knowing the facts which were coming in a steady stream of matter-of-fact evidence – much of it admitted by the defendant – the news rooms of America and Britain looked the other way. All of them, including our own national broadcaster, have consistently failed to do their job of reporting the facts and exploring the issues surrounding this case.

Journalists are charged with reporting such stories and then considering what questions of importance arise from them. Sadly, the victims were not celebrities, but mainly poor people of ethnic minority; people of no importance; voiceless because the media refuses to give them a voice.

The greatest victims were babies: 47 human foetuses were found in his clinic stored in refrigerators and household containers in vary stages of decomposition, together with a bizarre collection of babies’ feet.

Dr Gosnell’s specialism explains completely the reason for the media silence: he is an abortionist, and this fact alone accounts for why he enjoyed immunity on both sides of the Atlantic from press attention for much of his trial.

In the news rooms of the western world, the staff have become as indifferent to killing babies as Dr Gosnell’s de-sensitised workers and the Kapos of Belsen. They have been recruited into a culture shaped by the ‘woman’s right to choose’, so that now they never see an abortion they don’t like.

As US commentator Ann Coulter has pointed out, abortion is the one constitutional right that ‘can never’ be shown on national television. We have seen actual executions, and sexual intercourse graphically depicted. Postmortems have been shown, and become the central event of programmes like Silent Witness. Often the malefactors will be deranged Christians.

The pro-abortion lobby has so closed the minds of the shapers of our culture to the facts of abortion that they are utterly incurious when cases like this occur. The BBC is less competent at its job than Dr Gosnell was at his – and he has a collection of babies’ feet to prove it.

Fortunately, largely thanks to Twitter, the matter came to the attention of US Congress men and the matter has begun to emerge.

Brother Ivo has read the distressing material so you don’t have to, but if you wish to study it, the Grand Jury Report should be found HERE. (Unaccountably this link does not always work). The first British newspaper report came out last Friday in the Daily Telegraph.

Five weeks into the trial the BBC has yet to broadcast on the subject, although on 15 April 2013 an anodyne report appeared on its website.

This low-key response is almost certainly because Dr Gosnell’s case takes us to the question of what it means to be human and humane, and this is why it is so important. What he was doing crossed a fundamental line in law and morality between abortion and infanticide.
