Hossana ( Palm Sunday ) is celebration of entry of Jesus to Jerusalem riding a donkey. Children in Jerusalem sang Hossana praising Jesus Christ. Source: cnewa.org. The day is celebrated in a peculiar way. It’s very common to see laity wearing cube shaped palm ring and wearing palm stripe on the head.

The Feast of Hosanna -Palm Sunday has been celebrated in Ethiopia since the earliest days of Christianity. Celebrated a week before Easter, the day marks the beginning of the Holy Week and commemorates the triumphal entry of Jesus Christ with his disciples into Jerusalem. On this day Ethiopian Orthodox laities wear headbands of palm leaves, a reminder of the palm leaves that were laid by a huge crowd of people when Jesus arrived at Jerusalem. The best place to observe this ceremony in Ethiopia is at Entoto St. Mary Church in Addis Ababa and St. Mary Zion Church in Axum, where on the 28th November 2020 Muslim soldiers from Ethiopia, Eritrea and Somalia armed by Iran, UAE and Turkey went on the rampage and massacred over 1000 Orthodox Christians.

Axum, a Holy City in Ethiopia’s northern Tigray region, whose main Church of Our Lady Mary of Zion is believed by Ethiopian Orthodox Christians to hold The Biblical Ark of Covenant.

ሆሣዕና በአርያም | ሰማያዊ ልዑል አምላክ ትሑት ሆኖ ተገለጠ

🌴 ሰውን ከወደቀበት የበደል ጉድጓድ ያወጣው ዘንድ እግዚአብሔር ክንዱን ወደ ዓለም ላከ፡፡ ሰው ሆኖ የተገለጠው የእግዚአብሔር ክንድ በጉድጓድ ተጥሎ የነበረን በዚያም በሥጋ በነፍስ፤ በውስጥ በአፍአ ቆስሎ የነበረ አዳምን በትህትና ሁለተኛ አዳም ሆኖ በሥጋ የቆሰለውን በለበሰው ሥጋ ቆስሎ;በነፍስ የታመመውን በትምህርት አዳነ፡፡ ከእርሱ አስቀድሞ ሰውን ከሞት ወደ ሕይወት፤ ከባርነት ወደ ነፃነት የሚያመጣ ባለመኖሩ እርሱ ሁሉን የፈጠረ ሁሉን የሚያኖር እግዚአብሔር ሰው ሆኖ ለሰው መድኃኒት ሆነ፡፡ በሞቱም መድኃኒትነትን አሣየ፡፡ በነቢይ መድኃኒተ ፈነወ እግዚአብሔር ለሕዝቡ፤ እግዚአብሔር ለሕዝቡ መድኃኒትን ሰደደ፡፡ (መዝ.፻፲፥፱) ተብሎ የተነገረው ተፈጸመ፡፡

ክርስቶስ ባለ መድኃኒት ሆኖ በኃጢአት ለታመሙ ደቂቀ አዳም ሁሉ ሕይወትን ይሰጥ ዘንድ ወደዚህኛው ዓለም መጣ፡፡ በምድራዊ ሥርዓት እንደምናየው መድኃኒትና ባለ መድኃኒት እንደሚለያዩ አይደለም፡፡ ሁለቱንም እርሱ በመምጣቱ (ሰው በመሆኑ) ፈጸመ እንጂ፡፡ መድኃኒት አድርጎ ሥጋውን ደሙን የሰጠ እርሱ ነው፡፡ በካህናት አድሮ ሰው በንስሐ ሲመለስ መድኃኒት ወደሆነው ወደ ራሱ የሚመራ እርሱ ነው፡፡

ክርስቶስ መድኃኒት መሆኑ በሕማሙ እና በሞቱ ነው፡፡ በእመቤታችን ማኅፀን የተጀመረው የእርሱ መድኃኒትነት እና ፍቅሩ ፍፃሜውን ያገኘው በሕማሙ እና በሞቱ ነው፡፡ መሐሪ ንጉሥ እርሱ መሆኑን ይገልጥ ዘንድ በፈቃዱ ወደ ኢየሩሳሌም መጣ፡፡ ጌታ ወደ ኢየሩሳሌም ከመግባቱ አስቀድሞ ከኢየሩሳሌም ፲፮ ያህል ምዕራፍ በምትርቀው በቤተፋጌ ከደቀመዛሙርቱ ጋር ነበር፡፡

ከደቀ መዛሙርቱም ሁለቱን (ማለትም ጴጥሮስን እና ዮሐንስን) በፊታችሁ ወዳለችው መንደር ሂዱ ወዲያውም ወደ እርሷ ገብታችሁ ከሰው ማንም ገና ያልተቀመጠበትን ውርንጫ ታስሮ ታገኛላችሁ ፈትታችሁ አምጡልኝ፡፡ (ማር ፲፩፡፪) በማለት አዘዛቸው፡፡ ዳግመኛም ሰው ወዳልገባባት የተዘጋች የምሥራቅ ደጅ ወደ ምትባል ወደ ድንግል መጥቶ ዘጠኝ ወር ማኅፀኗን ከተማ አድርጎ እንደኖረ፤ ማኅየዊት ከምትሆን ሕማሙ በኋላም ሰው ባልተቀበረበት መቃብር እንደተቀበረ፤ አሁንም ጌታ ወደ ኢየሩሳሌም ለመግባት ማንም ሰው ያልተቀመጠባቸውን በሌላ መንደር የሚገኙ አህያንና ውርንጫን እንዲያመጡ ደቀመዛሙርቱን አዘዘ፡፡

የፍጥረት ሁሉ ጌታ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ በልደቱ እስትንፋሷን የገበረችለትን አህያ አሁን ደግሞ በፈቃዱ ስለ ሰው ሁሉ ሊሞት ሲል ንጉሥነቱን ሊያስመሰክርባት ወደደ፡፡ ጌታችን ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ እስከ ኢየሩሳሌም ድረስ ካለው ፲፮ ምዕራፍ አሥራ አራቱን በአህያ ላይ ሳይቀመጥ በእግሩ ሄደ፡፡ ከዚያም ሁለቱን ምዕራፍ በአህያ ላይ በመቀመጥ ከተጓዘ በኋላ የኢየሩሳሌምን መቅደስ ሦስት ጊዜ በውርጫዋ ላይ በመሆን ዞረ፡፡ በዚህም ለሰው ሁሉ ያለው ቸርነቱ፣ ሕግ የተሰጣቸው አይሁድ እና ሕግ ያልተሰጣቸው አሕዛብ ላይ እኩል ቀንበርን መጫን እንዳይገባ አጠየቀ፡፡

ወደ ኢየሩሳሌምም ሲሄድ ብዙ ሰዎች ልብሳቸውን በመንገድ ላይ አነጠፉ፣ ሌሎችም ከዛፍ ቅጠሎችን እየቆረጡ ያነጥፉ ነበር፡፡ (ማር. ፲፩፡፰)፡፡ ከዚያም ሰዎች ሆሣዕና በጌታ ስም የሚመጣ የተባረከ ነው (ማር. ፲፩፡፱) በማለት አመሰገኑ፡፡ ይህም ዛሬ ለቤተ ክርስቲያን እኛ ክርስቲያኖች ቡሩክ ስሙ ለእግዚብሔር ወቡሩክ ዘይመጽእ በስመ እግዚአብሔር፤ የእግዚአብሔር ስሙ ምስጉን ነው፡፡ እግዚአብሔር ነኝ ብሎ በእግዚአብሔር ስም የሚመጣ እርሱ ክርስቶስም ምስጉን ነው በማለት የአብ እና የወልድን መስተካከልን ገልጸን ጌታን እናመሰግናለን፡፡ ጌታን የሚከተሉት ሰዎች ሆሣዕና በአርያም እያሉ ይጮኹ ነበር (ማር.11፲፩፡፲) ይኸውም በልዕልና፣ በሰማይ ያለ መድኃኒት፣ ከሰማይ የመጣ መድኃኒት ማለት ነው፡፡

የእግዚአብሔር ፍቅር እና መሓሪ መሆን በክርስቶስ ሕማም እና ሞት ከመቼውም ጊዜ በላይ ተገልጧል፡፡ ክርስቶስ የተቀበለው ሕማም እና ሞት የእርሱን አምላክነት እና ንጉሥነት አልሸሸገውም፡፡ እንደውም ዙፋኑን መስቀል በማድረግ ንጉሥነቱን በመድኃኒትነቱ ገልጿል እንጂ፡፡ በነቢይ እግዚአብሔርሰ ንጉሥ ውእቱ እምቅድመ ዓለም ወገብረ መድኃኒተ በማዕከለ ምድር፣ እግዚአብሔር ከዓለም አስቀድሞ ንጉሥ ነው፤ በምድር መካከልም መድኃኒትን አደረገ መዝ. ፸፫፤፲፪ ተብሎ የተነገረው እግዚአሔብር ድኅነትን በፈጸመበት ማዕከለ ምድር ሲሰቀል በመድኀኒትነቱ ንጉሥነቱን መግለጡን ያመለክታል፡፡ ዳግመኛም አንሰ ተሰየምኩ ንጉሠ በላዕሌሆሙ በጽዮን በደብረ መቅደሱ፤ እኔ ንጉሥ ሆኜ ተሸምኩ በተቀደሰው ተራራ ላይ (መዝ.፪፡፮) ተብሎ የተነገረው ኦርቶዶክሳውያን አበው እነርሱ (አይሁድ) ሰቅለነው ገድለነው ኋላ ፈርሶ በስብሶ ይቀራል ይሉኛል እንጂ እኔ ደብረ መቅደስ በምትባል በመስቀል ላይ ነግሻለሁ በማለት ይተረጉሙታል፡፡

ጌታ ንግሥናው ክብሩ የተገለጠበት ሆነ እንጂ መታመሙ እና መሞቱ ውርደት ክብሩንም የሚሸሽግ አይደለም፡፡ ሊቁ ዮሐንስ አፈወርቅ ይትባረክ እግዚአብሔር ዘሰመየ ሕማማት ወልዱ ክብረ ወስብሐት፣ የልጁን ሕማማት ክብርና ምስጋና አድርጎ የሰየመ እግዚአብሔር ይመስገን አለ፡፡ እኛን ያከበረበት በመሆኑ ሕማሙ ክብር እንደተባለ እናስተውል፡፡ በመስቀል ላይ ሆኖም በቀኝ የተሠቀለው ወንበዴ አቤቱ በመንግሥትህ በመጣህ ጊዜ አስበኝ (ሉቃ ፳፬ )በማለት ንጉሥነቱ መስክሮለታል፡፡ ለዚህ ነው ጌታ ወደ ኢየሩሳሌም በምስጋና መግባቱ መድኃኒትነቱን እና ንጉሥነቱን ያሳያል ያልነው፡፡ ዳግመኛም ሁሉን የያዘ ጌታ በአህያ ላይ መቀመጡ ትህትናው ያስረዳል፡፡ ሊቁ ቅዱስ ያሬድ ዘይነብር ዲበ ኪሩቤል ዲባ ዕዋለ አድግ ነበረ፡፡ በማለት ሰማያዊ ልዑል አምላክ ትሑት ሆኖ እንደተገለጠ ተናገረ፡፡

ጌታ ከመድኃኒትነቱ የተነሣ ድንቅ የሆኑ እና ተአምራትን ለሰዎች አሳየ (ገለጠ)፡፡ እም ሆሳዕናሁ አርአያ ተአምረ ወመንክረ (ቅዳ. ጎርጎ.ዘኑሲስ) እንዲል፡፡ ይኸውም በአህያ ተጭኖ ወደ ኢየሩሳሌም ሲገባ አእምሮ ጠባይዕ ያልቀናላቸው ሕፃናት ዕውቀት ተገልጾላቸው ሆሳዕና በአርያም እያሉ ጌታ በማመስገናቸው ነው፡፡ ዳግመኛም በከሃሊነቱ መናገር ለማይችሉ ዕውቀት ለሌላቸው ድንጋዮች ዕውቀት ተሰጥቷቸው መናገር ችለው ጌታን አመስግነዋል፡፡ እርሱ የባሕርይ አምላክ መሆኑ በሰውነቱም ቀድሞ በበደል ምክንያት ለሰው ከመገዛት ውጪ የሆኑ ፍጥረታት ዳግመኛ በሥጋዌ ለሰው እንደተገዙ ከዚህ ሁሉ ማስተዋል ይገባል፡፡

ጌታ ከመድኃኒትነቱ የተነሣ ልጅነት እና ተአምራት ማድረግን ገለጸ፡፡ እም ሆሳዕናሁ አርአያ ጸጋ ወኅይለ እንዲል (ቅዳሴ ጎርጎ. ዘኑሲስ)፡፡ የእርሱ ማዳን ከሰው ተወስዶበት የነበረ የጸጋ ልጅነት እንዲመለስለት አድርጋ በልጅነት ላይ ገቢረ ተአምራት (ተአምራትን ማድረግ) ገልጿል፡፡ ይኸውም እርሱ በረድኤት አድሮባቸው ድንቅ ተአምራትን ለሚያደርጉ ቅዱሳን መሠረት ነው፡፡ በተጨማሪም ልጅነትን ካገኙ በኋላ በበደል ሲገኙ ለንስሓ የሚሆን እንባን ሠጠ፡፡ እምሆሳዕናሁ ወሀበ ፈልፈለ አንብዕ ለኅጥአን እንዲል (ቅዳሴ ጎርጎ. ዘኑሲስ) ይኸውም የበደሉትን ያከብራቸው ዘንድ፣ ኀጥአንን ከኃጢአታቸው ያነጻቸው ዘንድ እንዲሁም የሳቱትን በንስሐ ይመልሳቸው ዘንድ ነው፡፡

ዳግመኛም ጌታ መድኀኒት ከመሆኑ የተነሣ ለዕውራን ዳግመኛ ብርሃንን ሰጠ፡፡ ይኸውም ለጊዜው በተፈጥሮ ዐይን ተሰጥቷቸው የታወሩትን ፈውሶ በሥጋ ብርሃን መስጠቱ ሲሆን፤ ፍጻሜው ግን በነፍስ ዕውቀትን ከማጣት የተነሣ ዕውራን የነበሩትን ትምህርትን; ዕውቀትን ገለጸላቸው፡፡ ይኸውም የእርሱ ገንዘቡ ስለሚሆን አንድነት ሦስትነት፣ አምላክነቱን መድኃኒት መሆኑን ገለጠላቸው ማለት ነው፡፡

ኒቆዲሞስ (የዐቢይ ጾም ሰባተኛ ሳምንት) ፍጹም ፍቅር ፍርሃት የለውም ፍርሃት ቅጣት አለውና

• ❖ ኒቆዲሞስ ፈሪሳዊ ነው። ዮሐንስ ፫፥፩
• ❖ ኒቆዲሞስ የአይሁድ አለቃ ነው። ዮሐንስ ፫፥፩
• ❖ ኒቆዲሞስ መምህረ እስራኤል ነው። ዮሐንስ ፫፥፲
• ❖ ኒቆዲሞስ ምሑረ ኦሪት ነው። ዮሐንስ ፯፥፶፩

ኒቆዲሞስ ቃሉ የግሪክ ሲሆን ድል ማድረግን ወይም አሸናፊነትን ያመለክታል፡: ኒቆዲሞስ ፈሪሳዊ፥ ከአይሁድ አለቆችና መምህራና አንዱ ነው። በወንጌለ ዮሐንስ ምዕራፍ ሦስት ከፈሪሳውያን ወገን የአይሁድ አለቃ የሆነ ኒቆዲሞስ የተባለ አንድ ሰው እንደነበረና እርሱም በሌሊት ወደ ጌታችን መጥቶ እንደተማረ ተጠቅሷል። (ዮሐ ፩–፪)

በአይሁድ አለቆች ፊትም ”ሕጋችን አስቀድሞ ሳይሰማ የሠራውንም ሳያውቅ በሰው ይፈርዳልን?” በማለት ስለ መድኃኔዓለም ክርስቶስ የተናገረ እሱ ነው። እነርሱ ግን በክርስቶስ እግዚአብሔርነት ያመኑበት ኦሪትን የማያዉቁ ስሑታን እንደሆኑ ያስቡ ስለ ነበር ”አንተም ደግሞ ከገሊላ ነህን? ከገሊላ ነቢይ እንደማይነሳ መርምርና እይ“ አሉት እንጂ አልተቀበሉትም። ዮሐ ፯፥፵፰–፶፪። ኒቆዲሞስ የአርማትያስ ሰው ከሚሆን ከዮሴፍ ጋር በመሆን የጌታችንን ቅዱስ ሥጋ በንጹሕ በፍታ ገንዞ በአዲስ መቃብር ቀብሯል። ወንጌላዊው ቅዱስ ዮሐንስ ”ቀድሞ በሌሊት ወደ ጌታችን ኢየሱስ ሄዶ የነበረዉ ኒቆዲሞስም መጣ፤ ቀብተውም የሚቀበርበትን መቶ ወቄት የከርቤና የሬት ቅልቅል ሽቶ አመጣ።” እንዳለ። ዮሐ ፲፱፥፴፱። በዚህም ኒቆዲሞስ ከምክረ አይሁድ ያልተቀላቀለ መሆኑ ይታወቃል።

የሌሊት ተማሪው ኒቆዲሞስ የሌሊቱን ጊዜ ለትምህርት ለምን መረጠ­ የሌሊት ተማሪው ኒቆዲሞስ ዮሐንስ ፫፤፪

ከፈሪሳዊያን ወገን የሆነ የአይሁድ አለቃ የሆነ ኒቆዲሞስ የሚባል አንድ ሰው በሌሊት ወደ ጌታ እየሄደ ይማር ነበር ኒቆዲሞስ ከቀኑ ክፍለ ጊዜ ይልቅ የሌሊቱን ጊዜ ለትምህርት ለምን መረጠ ?

፩/ ኒቆዲሞስ መምህር ስለነበር ስማር ሰዎች ቢያዩኝ ውዳሴ ከንቱ መምህር መባል ይቀርብኛል ብሎ ነው እኛስ ዛሬ የዘላለም ህይወት የሚሰጠንን ቅዱስ ቃል በትህትና መማር ሲገባን ለምድራዊ ክብር ብለን በቀን ጊዜያችን መማር ያልቻልን ስንቶቻችን ነን ስለዚህ ቀን ጊዜአችንን በአግባቡ ልንጠቀምበት ይገባል።

‹ ማንም ሊሰራ የማይችልባት ሌሊት ትመጣለችና › ዮሐንስ ፱፤፬

፪/ .ኒቆዲሞስ የአይሁድ መምህር ስለነበር እንዳያዩት ፈርቶ ሌሊት እየመጣ ይማር ነበር እኛስ ዛሬ ልባችን የተረዳውን እውነት በግልጥ እንዳንፈጽም በፍራቻ በይሉኝታ የምንሰውር ስንቶቻችን ነን

‹ፍጹም ፍቅር ፍርሃት የለውም ፍርሃት ቅጣት አለውና› ፩ ዮሐንስ ፬፤፲፰ ፍርሃትን አስወግደን ለእውነት ልንቆም ይገባል።

፫/ ኒቆዲሞስ ከቀን ልብ ይልቅ የሌሊት ልብ የተካተተ ስለሆነ በሙሉ ልቡ በማስተዋል ለመማር ስለፈለገ ከቀኑ ክፍለ ጊዜ ይልቅ የማታውን መረጠ ዛሬስ ስንቶቻችን ነን ቅዱስ ቃሉን በማስተዋል ከልብ ሆነን የምንማር የሰማነው ቅዱስ ቃል በህይወታችን ፍሬ እንዲያፈራ ቅዱስ ቃሉን ከልብ ሆነን በማስተዋል ልንሰማ ይገባናል ቃሉን ሰምቶ የሚያስተውል ልብ መልካም መሬት ተብⶀል

‹ በመልካም መሬት የተዘራውም ይህ ቃሉን ሰምቶ የሚያስተውል ነው› ማቴ ፲፫፡፳፫

አንዳንዶቻችን ጸሎት እያደረግን እንኳን አንደበታችን የእግዚአብሄርን ቃል ይነዳል ልባችን ሌላ ቦታ ይንጎዳጎዳል በማህበር ጸሎትም አብረን እየጸልይን በመሃል ሳይን አውት አርገን ልክ ሲፈጸም አለቀ እንዴ ብለን ሳይን ኢን የምናደርግ አንጠፋም።

፬/ ሌሊት ጨለማ ነው ብርሃን የለም ይህም የኃጢአት ምሳሌ ነው ኒቆዲሞስ በሌሊት መምጣቱ በኃጢአት እንዳለ ንስሃ እንደሚፈግ ያስረዳናል ዛሬስ ስንቶቻችን ነን ቅዱስ ቃሉን ስንሰማ በተአምኖ ኃጢአት በንስሃ ውስጥ ሆነን የምንሰማ ያለንስሃ የምንሰማው ቃል በህይወታችን ፍሬ የማፍራት እድሉ ጠባብ ነው ምክንያቱም በንስሃ ከልባችን ያልጸዱት ክፉ ምኞቶች እንደ እሾህ ሆነው ያንቁታልና

‹ሌላውም በእሾህ መካከል ወደቀ እሾህም ወጣና አነቀው› ማቴ ፲፫፤፰ ተብሎ የተጻፈው ለዚህ ነው።

፭/ ሌሊት የቆየው ኪዳን ወይም የብሉይ ኪዳን ምሳሌ ነው ኒቆዲሞስም እኔ ምሁረ ኦሪት እንጂ ምሁረ ወንጌል አይደለሁም ወንጌልን ካንተ እማር ዘንድ ያስፈልገኛል ሲል በሌሊት ይመጣ ነበር ብሉያት ከሓዲሳት ጋር ተዋህደው ሲተረጎሙ ሰሙና ወርቁ ተጣምሮ የሕይወት ትምህርት ያስገኛል አንዳንዶች ዛሬ ብሉያት ጭራሽ አያስፈልጉም ሲሉ ይደመጣሉ ነገር ግን እንደ ኒቆዲሞስ ሁለቱን ኪዳናት አዋህዶ መጓዝ ትክክለኛው መንገድ ነው ለዚህም ነው ጌታ ሲያስተምር‹እውነት እላችኋለው ሰማይና ምድር እስኪያልፍ ድረስ ከህግ አንዲት የውጣ ወይም አንዲት ነጥብ አታልፍም› ማቴ ፭፤፲፰ በማለት አበክሮ የተናገረው ኒቆዲሞስ ምንም እንኳን የቀኑ ክፍለ ጊዜ ባይመቸውም በሌሊቱ ሰአት ለመማር ችⶀል እኛም ከሱ ተምረን ከልብ ካለቀሱ እንባ አይጠፋምና ምንም ስራ ቢበዛብን ለቅዱስ ቃሉ ጊዜ አይጠፋምና ህይወት ለሚገኝበት ትምህርት ጊዜ ልንሰት ይገባል።

ደብረ ዘይት በግዕዝ ልሣን ደብረዘይት ማለት የወይራ ተራራ ማለት ነው። ቦታው ከኢየሩሳሌም በስተምስራቅ የሚገኝ የወይራ ዛፍ የበዛበት ተራራ ሲሆን ስሙም ከወይራ ዛፉ:-ደብረ ዘይት (የወይራ ዛፍ ተራራ) በመሰኘት ተገኝቷል። በቅድስት ቤተ ክርስቲያናችን ደብረ ዘይት በዓል ሆኖ የሚከበርበት ምክንያት ጌታችን መድኃኒታችን ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ በደብረዘይት ተራራ ላይ ሳለ ለቅዱሳን ደቀመዛሙርቱ ስለ ዓለም ፍጻሜ እና ስለ ዳግም ምጽአቱ ስላስተማራቸዉ በጌታችን ትምህርት መሰረት ነገረ ምጽአቱን (የመምጣቱን ነገር) እንድናስታዉስ ወይም እያሰብን እንድንዘጋጅ ለማድረግ ነዉ።

በዚያ ልማድ መሠረት ጌታችን ዓለምን ለማሳለፍ ደግሞ የሚመጣበትን ምልክትና ጠቋሚ ነገር ምን ምን እንደሆነ፣ እርሱ ከመምጣቱ በፊት በዓለም ላይ ምን፥ ምን እንደሚደረግና ምን እንደሚታይ ለደቀመዛሙርቱ የነገራቸው በደብረ ዘይት ተራራ ላይ ተቀምጦ ነው። (ማቴ. ፳፬፥፩፡፶፩) ስለ ዓለም ሁሉ ቤዛ ለመሆን በሚሰቀልበት ቀን ዋዜማ ማለት በትልቁ ሐሙስ (ጸሎተ ሐሙስ) በለበሰው ሥጋ የጸለየው ከደብረ ዘይት ጋር ተያይዞ በሚገኘው ቦታ በጌተሴማኒ ነበር። (ማቴ. ፳፮፥፴፮) በኃላ ከሙታን ተለይቶ ከተነሣ በኋላም ለደቀመዛሙርቱ እንዲነግሩ ሲልካቸው፥ “ሂዱና ወደ ገሊላ ይቀድማችኋል፥ በዚያም ታዩኛላችሁ ብላችሁ ንገሩአቸው፥” ብሎ የላካቸው በደብረ ዘይት ገሊላ ተብላ ትጠራ ወደ ነበረችው ቦታ ነው። (ማቴ. ፳፰፥፱) ገሊላውያን ወደ ኤየሩሳሌም ሲመጡ በደብረ ዘይት ያርፍ ነበርና እነሱ ሲያርፉባት የነበረችው ቦታ ገሊላ እየተባለች ትጠራ ነበር። መድኃኔዓለም ክርስቶስ የድኅነት ሥራ ፈጽሞ ወደ ሰማይ ያረገው ከዚህ ተራራ ተነሥቶ ነው። (ሐዋ. ፩፥፲፪) ቀደም ብሎም የሆሳእናው የመድኃኔዓለም አስደናቂ ጉዞ የተጀመረው ከደብረ ዘይት ሥር ነበር። (ማቴ. ፳፩፥፩፡፲፮)

ደብረዘይት ምሳሌነቱ ይህች ቤተክርስቲያን ናት፣ ደብረዘይት የኦርቶዶክሳውያን ተራራ፣ የእግዚአብሔር ቃል የሚነገርባት፣ መሠረታዊ ሐይማኖት የምንማርባት፣ ካሕናት የሚሠፍሩባት፣ ምዕመናን የሚገናኙባት፣ እግዚአብሔርን የምንወድ ሁሉ የምንሰባሰብባት አማናዊት ደብረ ዘይት ቤተክርስቲያን ናት።

“ትልቁ መሠረተ ልማት የሰው ልጅ ነው፤ ቁሳቁሱን፣ ድንጋይና ድንጋይ፣ አሸዋና ሲሚንቶ ማቀላቀል አይደለም”

“ሰውን ከእግዚአብሔር ከሚለየው አጉል ሰላም ይልቅ ከእግዚአብሔር የማይለየው ጦርነት ይሻላል፤ ስሜታዊ ከሆነና ለቤተ ክርስቲያን ዘለቄታዊ ጉዳት ከሚኖረው ስምምነትና አንድነት ይልቅ ስለ ሐይማኖት መጠበቅ ዘለቄታዊ ጠቀሜታ የሚኖረውና ለዚህ ሲባል የሚሆን አለመስማማት ይሻላል፡፡” ቅዱስ ጎርጎርዮስ ዘኑሲስ

Debre Zeit (ደብረ ዘይት): the Ge’ez phrase for Mount of Olives is one of the nine minor feast days of the Lord observed halfway in the fifth week of the great lent. The Ethiopian Orthodox Church celebrates the feast with special consideration based upon the second coming of Christ, which was announced by our Lord on the Mount of Olives. Biblical verses and the hymn of St.Yared pertinent to our Lord’s second coming are read and sung on this day.

The signs of the end times spoken by our Lord will culminate in final judgment and resurrection of the living and dead, believers and unbelievers, righteous and sinners. It is in the knowledge of this truth of the second coming of Christ that all people must repent, believe and baptize in preparation for the arrival of God’ Kingdom.

The church advises us to be spiritually prepared for judgment at any moment and to put our trust in God that He will make everything right in the end. The final phase of the process of redemption began with the first coming of Jesus and will culminate in the events surrounding His Second Coming. There will be a final judgment of all people, living and dead. There will be a final defeat and destruction of all evil — Satan, sin, suffering and death. The kingdom of God will come to its fulfillment at last.

Signs of the end

Jesus, Himself, said no one would be able to predict exactly the end of the time but He informs that many events will occur before the Second Coming and which will be signs that the end is near. There will be wars, famines, earthquakes, false prophets, persecutions and an increase in wickedness, rebellion against God, worship of demons, idolatry, murders, sorceries, sexual immorality, and thefts. (Matthew 24:3-14; Rev. 9: 20). The Gospel of the kingdom must be preached to all nations for a witness to all the nations, and then the end shall come. (Matthew 24:14-28).

Resurrection and Final Judgment

Everyone who has ever lived will be brought back to life in some form to face the final judgment along with those still living. When the end time comes, all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth and can be in front of two different Judgment Seats (righteous in the right hand of Jesus and sinners in the left) — those who have done good will be granted eternal life; and those who have done evil, will be condemned to eternal punishment. (Matthew 5:29-30, 25:31-46, Mark 9:43-48 ; John 5:25-29)

While we are still living, or until Jesus comes again, we have every opportunity to repent. We can change our ways from evil to good. But in the end we will all be judged. No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. You do not know when that time will come. The event, when it happens, will be swift and unexpected. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect Him. (Mark 13:32-33; Matthew 24:43-44)

The Mount of Olive (Debre Zeit) የደብረ ዘይት ተራራ(ኢየሩሳሌም)

The Mount of Olive is the highest mountain in the suburbs of Jerusalem, 730 metres over the surface of the Mediterranean, comprising of a mountain range with three peaks; The South peak of the Ascension of Christ, around which all the Christian Shrines of the Mount of Olives are gathered. The North peak (Mount Scopus), on which the Hebrew University of Jerusalem is built. The middle peak with the Augusta Victoria Hospital dedicated to the wife of the German Emperor Wilhelm II. In Hebrew it is called Har-Hazeitim, the Mount of Olives. From the 4th century onwards, the Mount of Olives attracted many Christian pilgrims and monks, resulting to the building of houses of prayer, churches and monasteries on it. A Christian travelling book of the 6th century numbers 24 churches and shrines on the Mount.

During the apostasy era, Lord and Savior Jesus Christ taught the disciples about judgment day on the mount of olive. In scripted as in the Holy Bible on (Gospel of Matthew 24:1-44) “Then Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came up to show Him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down.”

The Signs of the Times and the End of the Age

Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.

“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he who endures to the end shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

The Great Tribulation

“Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the [c]elect’s sake those days will be shortened.

“Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. For false Christ’s and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand. “Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together.

The Coming of the Holy Son

“Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His [d]elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

The Parable of the Fig Tree

“Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near—at the doors! Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.

No One Knows the Day or Hour

“But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding at the mill: one will be taken and the other left. Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming. But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched and not allowed his house to be broken into. Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

So dear brethren! Just as it is foretold by our Lord Himself about the anonymity of His second coming, it is always better to be ready by repentance and avoid any harmful act for we might not have time to cleanse our sin and face our Lord for judgment because He will say to us, “Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was hungry and you gave Me no food; I was thirsty and you gave Me no drink; I was a stranger and you did not take Me in, naked and you did not clothe Me, sick and in prison and you did not visit Me.’”

But it shall always be our desire to be called His children and be said, “Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday urged Turks resident in Europe to have five children, telling the millions strong diaspora community “you are Europe’s future.”

Turkey and Europe are locked in a bitter spat after Germany and the Netherlands blocked Turkish ministers from holding rallies to campaign for a ‘yes’ vote in next month’s referendum on expanding Erdogan’s powers.

Erdogan has repeatedly accused EU states of behaving like Nazi Germany over what he sees as discrimination against Turks, in comments that have caused outrage across the continent.

“From here I say to my citizens, I say to my brothers and sisters in Europe… Educate your children at better schools, make sure your family live in better areas, drive in the best cars, live in the best houses,” said Erdogan.

The only problem with that is that where ever they do rule, they start killing each other (that’s the good part), but they also destroy every society that they become a part of.

The denial by liberals across the globe will actually cause the coming civil war. They have basically said nothing is wrong with Islam and anybody that thinks so deserves condemnation.

The solemn liturgical service of Good Friday is attended by thousands of believers. There is a sense of sorrow and desolation. All the symbols, images and instruments used in the passion of the Saviour are publicly exhibited in the church.

Men and women go to church to prostrate themselves, remaining there from early morning till 3 p.m. the hour of the death of Jesus Christ. Believers confess their greater and lesser offenses to the confessor or sit reading their Psalter. It is believed that on

Good Friday blood fell from Christ on the cross and dripped into the grave of Adam beneath and there rose up from the dead about 500 people; the thief on the left was sent into darkness but the one on the right went before Adam into Paradise.

On this Friday the Devil was bound with cords and Christ descending to purgatory (seol) sent forth to paradise all the souls that were in darkness (Seol). Good Friday is a special day for confession.
