Saudi Police Shot And Stole From Ethiopians During Mass Deportation Claim Abused Migrants

  • Saudi Arabia’s latest wave of deportations began November 11 after several months of warnings by the government.
  • Authorities say the kingdom has detained around 250,000 people violating its residency laws in the crackdown.
  • Approximately 50,000 already forcibly flown out of the country.

In interviews with The Associated Press upon their arrival home, the returnees described beatings, theft and stays in dirty prison camps. Their accounts brought to light one of the world’s busiest and most dangerous migrant routes but one that remains overlooked amid the larger rush toward Europe.

In August, traffickers heaved scores of migrants into the sea off Yemen, leaving more than 50 to drown. In March, more than 30 Somali migrants, including children, were killed — apparently in a helicopter gunship attack by a Saudi-led coalition at war in Yemen.

Saudi Arabia’s latest wave of deportations began Nov. 11 after several months of warnings by the government. Saudi authorities say the kingdom has detained around 250,000 people violating its residency laws in the crackdown, with approximately 50,000 already forcibly flown out of the country.

Of those who entered the country illegally, 72 percent were from Yemen and 26 percent were Ethiopians.

Those arriving home in Ethiopia described the process as jarring and unfair. The six who spoke to the AP at the airport in the capital, Addis Ababa, said they were robbed of their possessions by “Saudi police officers” who shared their money between them. Some of the returnees said they saw compatriots being shot and wounded when they tried to escape police roundups.

“The prison cell I was put into was so dirty that some of us were severely sick. It was like a toilet,” said Sadiq Ahmed, a former teacher who went to Saudi Arabia five years ago and was detained for 11 days before his deportation. “As if this was not enough, we were robbed of our belongings. I came here with nothing. I know lots of people who went insane because of this torment.”

Ethiopia’s government says more than 14,000 of its citizens have been deported since mid-November and 70,000 have returned voluntarily, but the International Organization Migration says the number that has left forcibly or voluntarily since the amnesty period ended in June has reached 96,000.

Saudi Arabia ordered all undocumented migrants to leave voluntarily in March, an order later extended until June. The majority of the migrants chose to remain and now face forced deportation.

“I stayed in Saudi Arabia for five years just to support my family and other siblings,” said deportee Fozia Omar, adding that she spent one month in prison but was allowed to bring her luggage. “We have suffered a lot. I would like to beg my brothers and sisters not to repeat the mistake we already made, in the name of Allah.”

An estimated 400,000 Ethiopian migrants had been living in Saudi Arabia.

“The number of returnees could rise even higher in the coming weeks,” the IOM said, adding that around $30 million is needed to cover their immediate needs. Those include transportation to final destinations for many of the most vulnerable such as unaccompanied minors, single mothers and those who said they had been abused.

A Documentary Exposes The Horror of Life in Saudi Arabia,

A Woman Beheaded In The Road. Five Headless Corpses Hanging rom Cranes.  Why DOES Britain Cosy up to This Kingdom of Savagery?

SaudiCrucifying

— Sight is one scene in a shocking documentary to be aired this week

— It will shed the light on the strict everyday life in Saudi Arabia

 — Middle Eastern nation is one of the world’s bloodiest and most secretive

— Yet Saudi Arabia remains one of Britain’s closest allies worldwide

See more news on Saudi Arabia as the horror of daily life is revealed

The ITV film, Saudi Arabia Uncovered, contains harrowing footage of beheadings. A woman dressed in black is held down at the side of a public road by four Saudi policemen, after she has been convicted of killing her stepdaughter.

She is executed with a sword blow to the neck, as she screams: ‘I did not do it.’

We have all heard of the brutality of the Saudi regime, but what makes this documentary so chilling is that we see it on camera.

In another beheading scene, the executioner, dressed in the white robes typically worn by Saudi men, raises his curved sword above his head and brings it down in a single sweep.

What the film makes abundantly clear is that the country is a murderous dictatorship which refuses to tolerate dissent.

Yet Saudi Arabia remains one of Britain’s closest allies, not just in the Middle East but worldwide, as it has for nearly a century. We sell them arms. They sell us oil. The royal families of each country are close. Prince Charles has made numerous trips to the kingdom and, when King Abdullah died last year, flags at Westminster flew at half-mast in a highly unusual tribute to a foreign ruler.

Our leaders conveniently overlook the truth about the desert kingdom.

In Saudi Arabia, even a minor criticism of the regime can result in a lashing or long prison sentence. Beheadings, the film makes clear, are commonplace — so far this year, the country has been executing its people at the rate of almost one a day.

Ferocious moral codes are enforced by the religious police as they patrol the streets and shopping malls. Blasphemy is punishable by stoning or execution, theft by amputation. Anyone found guilty of insulting Islam faces ten years in prison or perhaps 1,000 lashes.

The outside world is kept in ignorance of most of this because it is impossible for foreign journalists to report from or film in Saudi Arabia without minders. Indeed, it is difficult to get into the country even as a tourist.

The brutality aside, secret filming in a Saudi mosque shows a preacher spreading grotesque anti-Semitic messages. ‘The Jews have abused, dictated and contaminated the land,’ he says. ‘So, oh Allah, stop them and spill on them the whip of torture, don’t let their flag fly high, and make an example of them.’

The film reveals how hatred is directed at other religions in Saudi schools. One of the secret cameramen asks a 14-year-old Saudi boy what he is taught at school. Back comes the reply: ‘The Christians should be punished with death until there are none left. They should be beheaded.’

But schoolchildren are not just taught to direct hatred at Christians and Jews. They are also instructed to turn on Shia Muslims, a substantial minority in Saudi Arabia.

The boy says chillingly: ‘We learn that the Shia are blasphemers. They should be punished by death. We should fight them in the name of Islam.’

The Never-Ending Arab Cruelty Against Sons & Daughters of Ethiopia

Posted by addisethiopia / አዲስ ኢትዮጵያ on November 26, 2014

Ethiopia is Africa’s biggest refugee-hosting country, yet, Ethiopian immigrants continue to be maltreated by the ever ungraceful and hostile neighboring nations. Whether it’s in Sudan, Somalia or other Arab-league member nations, for those cruel “neighbors” no excess seems to be too monstrous for them to commit.

Here are the latest acts of atrocious cruelty committed against Children of Ethiopia.

Ethiopian Maids Reveal Abuse From Employers in UAE

Two maids have spoken of the appalling abuse they claim was dished out by their employers, as a top diplomat called for an end to household “slavery”.

Hedja Ousman, 22, and Wube Tamene, 18, worked for families in the UAE and both say they were beaten, starved, and prevented from contacting their families in Ethiopia.

They have now sought refuge at the Ethiopian Consulate in Dubai.

Hedja, speaking to 7DAYS yesterday, told of the horrors she endured during the two years she worked for a Kazakh family in Ajman. She said her female employer didn’t like the prospect of the maid speaking to her husband.

She said: “My employer didn’t want me talking to her husband. Every time her husband would instruct me to do something, she would beat me.”

Hedja said the woman even cut off her hair to make her “less attractive”.

Hedja, who earned Dhs500 per month, said the abuse began three months after she started her job. She decided to escape last week when her employer accused her of stealing car keys and beat her.

“I saw the door open and I ran,” she said. I asked someone for water, they called the police for me. I’ve been at the consulate since. I want to go home.”

She has dropped the police case she had filed against her employer but the consulate says it intends to file a new one.

Wube worked for an Emirati family in Dubai and claims at one point she was starved for two days then shown a plate of food, which she thought was hers, only for her employers to throw it in the bin.

Ethiopia’s Consul General in Dubai, Yibeltal Aemero Alemu, said he is seeing “a lot” of such cases, branding it “slavery.”

Housemaid Wube Tamene dreamed of a new life and a decent standard of living in the UAE.

Instead she was made to cut up her clothes and clean her employer’s home with the rags.

The Ethiopian, aged just 18, claims she was also made to walk around in bare feet and was not paid a salary for 18 months.

She also claims she was regularly beaten. Wube is now seeking refuge at the Ethiopian consulate in Dubai, along with fellow maid Hedja Ousman, who escaped an abusive employer – a Kazakh woman – in Ajman.

Their cases have prompted Ethiopia’s Consul General in Dubai, Yibeltal Aemero Alemu, to call for such “slavery” to stop.

Alemu said the consulate is now seeing “a lot” of cases in UAE and has said his office would begin pursuing cases against abusive families.

He said: “These maids have no communication to the outside world, they’re starved and beaten – this is slavery.

“They’re not allowed to have mobile phones. To exploit the maids employers don’t let them communicate with their families back home, so they won’t run away for other opportunities.”

Recalling her abuse, Wube said: “When my employer wanted to get rid of me she made me sign a contract in Arabic that I have settled everything with her. But I didn’t understand what I was signing.

“She took me to the airport without shoes and any luggage, gave me my flight tickets and asked me to leave.

“But I was stopped by authorities. They said ‘where are you going without shoes?’” Consul-General Alemu said Wube has now received her outstanding salary of Dhs9,000 and will be heading back to Ethiopia today.

Ethiopia currently has a ban on its nationals coming to the UAE as domestic workers, but Alemu said the two maids started work before his government implemented it last year. Addis Abada said such a ban would remain in place until there is an agreement reached to protect its nationals from abusive employers.

“There are 90,000 Ethiopians in the UAE and most of them are maids,” Alemu said.

Lola Lopez founder of the humanitarian group Babies Behind Bars, which also helps maids who are abused, said some were being denied basic human rights.

She said: “Some people have no regard for human life. Welfare organisations haven’t been able to help much, because the message they send out doesn’t always reach the women it’s supposed to. Many of these maids don’t read the newspaper and they don’t have phones.

“No one can be denied basic human needs.”

[Psalms 94:1-7]

O God, in whose hands is punishment, O God of punishment, let your shining face be seen. Be lifted up, O judge of the earth; let their reward come to the men of pride.

How long will sinners, O Lord, how long will sinners have joy over us?

Words of pride come from their lips; all the workers of evil say great things of themselves.

Your people are crushed by them, O Lord, your heritage is troubled,

They put to death the widow and the guest, they take the lives of children who have no father; And they say, Jah will not see it, the God of Jacob will not give thought to it.

Weirdie Saudi: The ‘Princess’, The ‘Prince’, Human Rights, Petrodollar & Militarism

Saudi “Princess” Sara Al Amoudi Wins £14m Legal Battle over London Property Empire

A mysterious Saudi “princess” has won a High Court battle against two London property tycoons who accused her of tricking them out of a multi-million pound property empire.

Business partners Amanda Clutterbuck and Ian Paton accused Sara Al Amoudi of being an Ethiopian prostitute posing as a Saudi princess to trick them into transferring six luxury flats worth £14 million into her name.

The pair claimed they “temporarily” transferred the Knightsbridge and Mayfair properties in the belief that she was the daughter of sheikh Mohammed Hussein al-Amoudi.

But in a major legal victory for the “vamp in the veil”, a London judge ruled that the properties were legally transferred into her name to pay off a loan she made to Paton while they enjoyed a romantic relationship.

Justice Asplin dismissed allegations that she was a prostitute and said a key witness, who claimed to work at a Soho lapdancing club, may have been “paid to give evidence”.

She added that it was “unnecessary to determine whether the alleged representations as to her identity, status and source of wealth were false”.

Al Amoudi’s background remains a mystery.

Sudan Court Convicts Ethiopian Woman Over ‘Gang-rape’

An Ethiopian woman who says she was gang-raped in Sudan has been convicted of “indecent acts”

The woman of 18 was three months’ pregnant at the time of the alleged attack.

She was arrested after video of her allegedly being sexually abused was circulated on social media.

Three men who admitted having sex with the woman and two who distributed the video were reportedly sentenced to being whipped.

The three were each sentenced to 100 lashes for adultery, while two got 40 lashes for distributing indecent material, according to women’s rights group Strategic Initiative for Women in the Horn of Africa (SIHA).

‘Brutal’

The woman was sentenced to a one-month jail term but this was suspended because she is pregnant, her lawyer, Samia al-Hashmi, told the AFP news agency.

She was also fined 5,000 Sudanese pounds ($880; £530).

She had also faced charges of adultery and prostitution, which could have led to a penalty of death by stoning, but these were dropped after she convinced the court she was divorced, reports SIHA.

The campaign group says the woman was house-hunting when she was lured to an empty property and attacked in Omdurman, just across the River Nile from Khartoum.

It says she now faces deportation.

The group’s regional director Hala Elkarib condemned the conviction, saying it would prevent women from reporting sexual abuse.

“The levelling of immigration charges against the victim further denies her protection by the state and protracts the punishment and emotional stress against her whilst she has been subjected to the most brutal of crimes,” she said.

Sudanese law is based on Sharia and women have been punished for wearing trousers or not covering their hair.

Saudi man who punched out mom’s tooth to have his own molar broken as punishment

In addition to having one of his front teeth broken, the man, who is in his 30s, will be imprisoned for five years and publicly lashed 40 times every 10 days.

The judge applied the Koranic ruling of ‘a tooth for a tooth’ when deciding the man’s punishment.

An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.

A Saudi Arabian man who smashed his mom’s fang out during a fight will have exactly the same molar in his own mouth broken as punishment.

The unnamed son, who is in his 30s, will also be jailed for five years and whipped 2,400 times – with 40 lashings being given every 10 days outside a local market.

The terrified mom called out to cops after the brutal attack inside their car, Gulf News reports.

Tourists Furious After Holidays Are Canceled Because Saudi Prince ‘Books Three Entire Maldive Island Resorts at a Cost of £18MILLION’

Saudi Arabia Pledges to Protect Foreign Workers, as Indonesian Maids Face Execution

For the first time, Indonesian maids working in Saudi Arabia will be guaranteed a monthly wage, time off, and contact with their loved ones, under a new agreement signed by the Gulf kingdom and Jakarta this week.

But it fails to address a worrying trend of domestic helpers filing complaints of exploitation and abuse only to face counter-allegations by their employers of “theft, witchcraft or adultery,” according to Human Rights Watch.

The penalties for these crimes are harsh in the deeply conservative kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which practices a puritanical form of Islam.

Saudi Arabia – 12,000 Somalis Expelled – Mass Deportations Without Considering Refugee Claims

Saudi authorities have deported more than 12,000 people to Somalia since January 1, 2014, including hundreds of women and children, without allowing any to make refugee claims, Human Rights Watch said today.

Saudi Arabia should end the summary deportations, which risk violating its international obligations not to return anyone to a place where their life or freedom is threatened or where they face other serious harm.

Prince Charles Should Be Promoting Human Rights, Not Acting as an Arms Dealer

If we are to be judged by the company we keep then Prince Charles has a lot of explaining to do. This week the future king has been strutting his stuff on the international stage, with highly publicised visits to dictatorships in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, BAE and Bahrain.

Officially the purpose of his trip was for HRH to visit a plethora of museums, galleries and sights of historical significance. But it would seem that it was carefully timed to facilitate the conclusion of arms company BAE System’s latest multi billion weapons deal with Saudi Arabia. Negotiations over the price of Eurofighter Typhoon had been going on for years and even two visits by David Cameron had not persuaded the Saudi royals to sign.

The Saudi Arabian dictatorship is a particularly brutal and despotic one. The most recent Economist Intelligence Unit Democracy Index ranked it 163 out of 167 countries and gave it zero points for “electoral process and pluralism”. The only countries ranked lower were Syria, Chad, Guinea Bissau and North Korea. This point was emphasised the day after Prince Charles left, when seven Saudi citizens were jailed for 20 years for protesting against the autocratic regime.

His support for the Saudi dictatorship may not be unique, but it is yet another sign of the contradictory and hypocritical nature of UK foreign policy. Unfortunately, when it comes to business the human rights usually often play second fiddle to the short term profits of the arms companies. This is why the UK has licensed over £5.6 billion worth of weaponry to Saudi Arabia in the last five years alone. Unfortunately, not for the first time, the Royal family has allowed itself to be co-opted into a dirty business.

Saudi Arabia, UAE finance Egypt $3bn arms deal with Russia

Egypt has concluded a UAE- and Saudi Arabia-financed arms deal with Russia worth of $2 billion, a senior official said, noting that the Egyptian and Russian sides agreed on all details related to the agreement over the past weeks.

As Egypt Independent reports, the source, who asked not to be named, said the two gulf kingdoms played a vital role in sealing the deal.

The official revealed that the first tranche of Russian weapons to Egypt will be delivered before mid 2014.The delivery and payments will both be phased, he explained.

In mid November 2013, Russia declared receiving an Egyptian offer to buy advanced defense systems, military helicopters, MiG 29 aircrafts and anti-tank missiles all worth of $2 billion.

Saudi Arabia and UAE, along with Kuwait, have been Egypt’s top Arab financiers following the overthrow of president Mohammed Morsi with financial and in-kind aid worth of $12 billion.

This past week, three Ethiopians were killed in the Saudi capital of Riyadh, as well as one foreign worker from Sudan. They died amid vigilante violence and reports of police brutality after illegal immigrants in the slum of Manfouha protested against a massive campaign of deportations that the government launched this month. A similar demonstration was broken up in the city of Jeddah, and its organizers arrested.

Meanwhile, large groups of Ethiopians have been gathering for protests this week at Saudi diplomatic institutions across the United States, including in front of the Saudi Embassy in Washington, as well as the Kingdom’s consulates in Atlanta and Los Angeles.

What is this big controversy about?

Saudi officials claim that the Ethiopians instigated this episode by throwing stones at cars without any provocation, but a reporter for the Wall Street Journal talked to locals who had a different view. They said “Saudi security forces had come to the neighborhood the night before to declare that all illegal African migrants had to leave… immediately. Pakistani laborers began trying to help police by catching African workers, and clashes began”.

This harsh crackdown comes as part of a longstanding Saudi effort aimed at increasing the proportion of citizens employed in productive sectors of the economy. However, it is also the result of a pervasive legacy of racism and religious discrimination experienced by African Christians in the Kingdom.

Saudi Arabia only abolished slavery in 1962, under heavy pressure by Washington and the UN. The best estimates suggest that the Kingdom held approximately thirty thousand slaves at the time.

But the Wahhabi religious establishment was reluctant to see the institution go. Just a decade ago, a member of Saudi Arabia’s highest religious body was caught on tape preaching that “slavery is a part of Islam”. He elaborated that “slavery is a part of jihad, and jihad will remain as long as there is Islam”.

In this insidious mindset—which, of course, is rejected by many Muslims—a hierarchy of races could be seen as a religious obligation. Due to what Saudi dissident Ali al-Ahmed calls a “culture of slavery” that “pervades the country,” even dark-skinned men and women who are Saudi citizens have been blocked from positions in a range of prestigious professions.

There are an estimated nine million foreign workers in Saudi Arabia, mostly doing jobs that Saudis themselves do not want to take. And so far, the sudden crackdown is mainly just causing disruptions to Saudi Arabia’s national economy. According to a story in the Saudi Gazette, twenty thousand schools in the country are now short of janitors, and 40 percent of small construction firms have stopped operations. One observer even counted thirteen facilities for the religious ritual of washing dead bodies that had been shuttered in Jeddah because the workers responsible for this thankless task had been forced to flee.

Many illegal immigrants have wanted to go home but were unable to do so. Hundreds of Filipinos have been camping out in front of their country’s consulate in Jeddah because they needed official support to get exit visas and purchase expensive airplane tickets home.

Saudi Arabia’s kefala labor system facilitates human rights abuses, “sometimes amounting to slavery-like conditions.” The system gives companies enormous power over their foreign employees, including the ability to block employees from flying home if they are unhappy with their work conditions. That is why such rights groups and the Economist have called on Riyadh to abolish the kefala system.

Overlaid with this system of discrimination and exploitation is Saudi Arabia’s chauvinistic repression of Christian residents. Many African workers in the country are Christians, but absolutely no churches are officially allowed. As recently as this April, Saudi Arabia’s Grand Mufti declared that all churches in the Arabian Peninsula must be destroyed.

In February, Saudi Arabia’s religious police raided a private religious gathering of fifty-three Ethiopian Christians, shutting down their prayer group and making mass arrests. Just half a year earlier, authorities deported thirty-five others for participating in a similar Ethiopian prayer group. And in 1997 two foreign workers were beheaded for conducting Bible study meetings and prayer groups in prison.

But no aspect of these abuses is more chilling than the examples of bodily harm experienced by some foreign workers in the Kingdom. Many of the individuals returning to Ethiopia have scars or fresh wounds from beatings by employers or police, and one man claims the officer who beat him even stole the shoes from off of his feet. According to the UAE paper Emirates 24/7, “scores of Asian and African domestic workers have been reported to have committed a suicide in Saudi Arabia over the past years because of mistreatment and other factors”. Chilling images keep surfacing on the web of Ethiopian maids who were so desperate with their circumstances in Saudi Arabia that they hanged themselves.

Over the years, numerous videos have surfaced showing angry, entitled Saudis beating and verbally abusing foreign workers—although to their credit, many Saudi citizens called out for a criminal investigation in one recent case. A study by the Committee on Filipinos Overseas found that 70 percent of Filipino domestic workers in Saudi Arabia reported instances of physical or psychological abuse.

Ethiopia’s ambassador to Riyadh, who obviously wishes to maintain good relations with his Saudi hosts, actually claimed that twenty-three thousand of his countrymen “handed themselves in” after Manfouha. They are being deported in large numbers at this very moment.

How bad must it become for economic migrants when suddenly tens of thousands of them are allegedly begging for a way out? And at what point does the international community have a responsibility to say loudly and emphatically enough is enough?

Explosive Planet: Saudis Kill and Get Nukes, Iran’s Allowed to Get Them, Angola Bans Islam

Posted by addisethiopia / አዲስ ኢትዮጵያ on November 25, 2013

My Note: rumors are circulating in Saudi Arabia now that over 500 Ethiopian immigrants have been murdered by Saudi thugs in the past couple of days. Lord have Mercy!

Ethiopian Maids Exploited During UAE Ban

StopSlaveryA ban on Ethiopian domestic staff is being exploited by recruiters who are headhunting those already in the UAE and offering their services at four times the normal recruitment charges.

Addis Ababa banned its domestic workers from seeking work in the UAE in July last year until an agreement was reached to protect them from abusive recruiters and employers.

But the ban does not apply to those already employed, and has enabled some ruthless recruiters to further exploit them.

Typically, the recruiters will offer existing sponsors of Ethiopian domestic workers up to Dh3,000 for agreeing to transfer the visa of their maid.

They then offer the maids’ services to other employers for fees of up to Dh7,500, rather than the previous standard of Dh1,500.

But none of the extra money is passed on to the maids, some of whom earn as little as Dh700 a month.

While such actions are not illegal, critics say recruiters are exploiting the demand for Ethiopian maids, who have a reputation for being diligent and reliable.

Nora Salim was offered the opportunity to hire an Ethiopian maid by a recruiter seeking Dh8,000 in office fees.

The same maid would have cost Dh1,500 in office fees but now they cost at least Dh6,000 extra because recruitment offices are taking advantage of the ban,” Ms Salim said.

I told the office employee that this was a rip-off. I had an Ethiopian maid before and I know the process and the costs.

They claimed to me that the original sponsor was demanding that amount in return for giving away his maid.”

Aida Omar contacted a recruitment company to arrange the plane ticket for her maid, whose two-year contract had expired, and the company offered her Dh3,000 to transfer the visa.

The office employee started insisting that I bring my maid to her office, and said she would finalise her residency cancellation and provide me with the necessary papers to claim my deposit from the residency department,” Ms Omar said.

For two weeks, she received calls from the recruiter pestering her to bring the maid in.

When I stopped taking her calls, she said it to me bluntly: ‘I will pay you Dh3,000 if you give me the maid’,” Ms Omar said.

It’s hard to believe this is legal, but even if it is, charging others four times more than what was originally paid for the maid is like theft.”

The average monthly wage of an Ethiopian maid without experience is Dh700 (US $ 190) while those with experience earn up to Dh900.

Ethiopia wants Dh1,200 minimum wage for its citizens in the UAE

Saudi Nuclear Weapons ‘on order’ From Pakistan

Sapocalypse99audi Arabia has invested in Pakistani nuclear weapons projects, and believes it could obtain atomic bombs at will, a variety of sources have told BBC Newsnight.

While the kingdom’s quest has often been set in the context of countering Iran’s atomic programme, it is now possible that the Saudis might be able to deploy such devices more quickly than the Islamic republic.

Earlier this year, a senior Nato decision maker told me that he had seen intelligence reporting that nuclear weapons made in Pakistan on behalf of Saudi Arabia are now sitting ready for delivery.

Angola ‘Bans Islam’, Dismantles Mosques

swiss_ban_mosque_minaretsA number of news outlets have reported that Angola has “banned” Islam and started to dismantle mosques in a bold effort to stem the spread of Muslim extremism.

Weekly French-language Moroccan newspaper La Nouvelle Tribune published an article on Friday sourcing “several” Angolan officials, including the Southwest African nation’s minister of culture, Rosa Cruz, who reportedly offered the following remarks, which have been translated from French: “The process of legalization of Islam has not been approved by the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, their mosques would be closed until further notice.”

The media reports have not described why exactly Islam apparently faces a need to be legalized despite its presence in the country for many years.

OnIslam.net reports that the African economic news agency Agence Ecofin wrote that Cruz made the statement at an appearance last week before the 6th Commission of the National Assembly. The website goes on to note that, “According to several Angolan newspapers, Angola has become the first country in the world to ban Islam and Muslims, taking first measures by destroying mosques in the country.”

Even Angola President José Eduardo dos Santos has weighed in on the controversy, as he was quoted in Nigeria’s Osun Defender newspaper on Sunday as saying, “This is the final end of Islamic influence in our country,” according to the OnIslam.net report.

The reported comments by Cruz and Santos echo the stance of the governor of the country’s Luanda province, Bento Francisco Bento, who reportedly maintains “that radical Muslims were not welcome in Angola and that the government was not ready to legalize the presence of mosques in the country,” according to a La Nouvelle Tribune summary of Bento’s take on the issue.

Africa-Arab Forum?

Posted by addisethiopia / አዲስ ኢትዮጵያ on November 21, 2013

Saudi Arabia Calls Arab and African Nations to Pressure the U.N. Security Council To Act on Syria

I’ve no idea there’s even an Africa-Arab economic forum. What is that for? Were they discussing about a possible Arab Reparations for the present and past crimes they commit against Africans? Why don’t Africans learn to never swim together with the cunning white-dressed Sheiks/Sharks? Why wasn’t the summit boycotted by the Africans after the horrendous news about the ongoing Saudi maltreatment of poor Ethiopian immigrants was revealed to the wider public?

Nevertheless, one of the Daily Star bloggers described exactly the current state of apprehension and nervousness that the Saudi serfdom finds itself:

If Saudi wants to save what remains of Syria – they need to arrest Bandar bin Sultan, stop the Saudi & Gulf Sate individuals bankrolling of their Wahhabi savages in Syria. If House of Saud inbred royalty had a shred of integrity instead of acting like demented snakes that they are, they would also be too ashamed to accept a seat on the UN Human Rights Committee – where they are the most Orwellean members to such a concept – and show no shame in the extreme irony of submitting a resolution on Syrian govt’s ‘human rights violations’ …. although I guess the Syrian army killing their Wahhabi savage proxy army may make Bandar bin Sultan weep.

And beware Saudi – do you think your petro $ salvation of US bankruptcy will keep you immune from western turncoats forever? Or your Bibi-Bandar alliance with protect you? Best you start waking up to the fact that there are some new sheriffs in town – called Putin and Xi Ping and you best start operating within international law because your Bandar’s AlCIAda terrorist activities will not be tolerated by these new sheriffs.

Ethiopian Anti-Babylon-Saudi Protesters Hold Global Rallies

‘Mystery Babylon’ is Mecca not Vatican

When it comes to Mystery Babylon, the common theory among many Protestant theologians is to equate it with Rome since according to them Rome is the city of seven hills. Others even equate it with actual Iraq itself since Iraq was where the original Babylon resided. Years ago, several books were even written on Saddam Hussein who supposedly was rebuilding Babylon, and Christians gulped up the books without truly examining the evidence. Saddam was simply rebuilding a tourist attraction where Nineveh once stood. The project was later abandoned, and Saddam died on the gallows and all these prophecy books with him.

But when presenting a multitude of biblical evidence, people still angrily deny it because they etched in their minds a verse or two they say prove it’s still Rome while adhering to a centuries-old theory initiated by Martin Luther. That plus the fact today’s Catholics do not bite. In fact, a clue to the real Babylon was just presented in an article by WND’s Aaron Klein when he stated: “Forces in the Persian Gulf and Arab intelligence services have noted the establishment of Iranian missile launch sites aimed in the direction of Saudi Arabia and Qatar, according to Egyptian and Jordanian intelligence officials speaking to WND.”

Yet no one in the prophecy arena even raised a red flag about the significance of this report; Iran (biblical Elam) must destroy Arabia. In Isaiah 21:9, Isaiah levels a prophetic oracle against Babylon using the same announcement in Revelation 18:1-2 and Revelation 14:8: “Babylon is fallen, is fallen”:

  • The burden against Dumah” (Isaiah 21:11)

  • The burden against Arabia” (Isaiah 21:13)

  • All the glory of Kedar will fail” (Isaiah 21:16).

These are all in Arabia, which is destroyed by Iran “Elam” (Isaiah 21:2).

There has been an immense oversight by many in the field of biblical eschatology: When it comes to the destruction of end-days Babylon, Scripture makes no mention of any of the ancient Babylonian cities – Nineveh, Ur, Babel, Erech, Accad, Sumer, Assur, Calneh, Mari, Karana, Ellpi, Eridu, Kish, or Tikrit. Rather, all the literal references in Scripture are in Arabia.

The use “MOTHER OF HARLOTS,” while it is commonly attributed to the Vatican’s Mariology as the worship of Ishtar, history records that the worship of Ishtar “Kilili,” or “Queen of Harlots,” originated from Arabia, not Rome [Patricia Turner and Charles Russell Coulter, Dictionary of Ancient Deities, page 242, Ishtar, Oxford University Press US, 2001]. In fact, when Muslims roam roundabout the black stone, it is a throwback to the worship of Ishtar whom they called Athtar and Allat.

When it comes to the Harlot woman, the Ka’ba is a perfect match; the black tarp is considered by Muslims a woman’s dress (kiswa), as Edward Gibbons elaborated: “The kiswa of the magnificent Ka’ba is what is used for clothing of a [virtuous] covering, on top of it, it is written, the Kaaba’s dressing, meaning ‘we have dressed her her dress.” [“The Decline and Fall of The Roman Empire, Volume 6, Chap. 1] Everything that describes the harlot fits the Ka’ba: dress, pearls, jewels, gold, silver and even the blasphemies etched in silver threads with golden inlays across her attire. Just the doors of the Ka’ba alone has 280 kilograms of pure gold.

The reference to a prostitute in Revelation 17, the “Whore of Babylon,” is no coincidence: “And the woman (whore) was arrayed in purple and scarlet color” (v. 17) resembles the near copulating with the Ka’ba’s Black Stone, which historically was dedicated to Aphrodite, the prostitute goddess that was called “Aphrodite Porne” (Aphrodite the Prostitute). “The goddess adorned in purple” is similar to the depictions given in Revelation 17:4, while the Ka’ba has a scarlet inner garment.

John of Damascus notes, “After the Hajj was preformed by Muhammad, the ‘rubbing and kissing the [of the Black Stone] … was extremely passionate.’” Muslim tradition even perpetuates the blasphemy that, “Abraham had sexual intercourse with Hagar on it” (Sahas. Heresy, pages 88-89). Francis Burton (Vol. 3, page 295) writes regarding the Ka’ba, “The part of the cover (Kiswa), covering the door, is called [a Burka] just like the veil the Arabic women are wearing in front of their face … in fact, Arab mystics even compare the Ka’ba to a virgin, adorned with her finest wedding dress.” Even today during their Hajj pilgrimage, Muslims kiss, rub and caress the Black Rock.

Furthermore, it is impossible to even consider that Isaiah 21 was regarding a historic battle between Persia and ancient Babylon since the multiple references throughout are not connected to ancient Iraq but to Kedar, Tema, Dedan and Dumah, which is in Saudi Arabia near Yathrib (Medina) and today is known as “Dumat el-Jandal.” Dumah, one of the sons of Ishmael, is also associated with Edom and Seir in Isaiah 21:11. It is believed by many that Kedar, Ishmael’s sons, is the line from which Muhammad descended.

Even Muslims recognize this when they read Isaiah 21; they see Isaiah 21:14-15 as the story of Muhammad when the Muslims emigrated from Mecca to Medina (Tema) in which they were fed and rescued from the sword. No Westerner was able to interpret:

The inhabitants of the land of Tema brought water to him that was thirsty, they prevented with their bread him that fled. For they fled from the swords, from the drawn sword, and from the bent bow, and from the grievousness of war.”

The Bible depicts that in this time, it will not be like the time when Muhammad fled; all Arabia, including the Glory of Kedar (Mecca), will be destroyed. How else can anyone interpret: “No Arab will pitch his tent there, no shepherd will rest his flocks there” (Isaiah 13:20)? Arabs pitch tents in Arabia, not Rome. The ultimate fulfillment of this verse is the destruction of the last-days Babylon. We know this because the passage speaks about “the day of the Lord” (v. 9) with the “heavens not giving light” (v. 10). This is not historical, but end-times related.

Then we have the Red Sea: “The earth is moved at the noise of their fall, at the cry the noise thereof was heard in the Red Sea” (Jeremiah 49:21). Red Sea is a geographic indicator as to where the last-days Babylon will be located. Look at Mecca on any map and you will see that it sits near the Red Sea. Some may object that Jeremiah 49 is speaking about Edom, which was primarily located in modern-day Jordan. Yet in Ezekiel 25 “Edom” stretches from Teman (Yemen) to Dedan (Saudi Arabia)” (v. 13). Greater Edom included all of the west coast of the Arabian Peninsula.

Notice the description of her destruction: “‘As Sodom and Gomorrah were overthrown, along with their neighboring towns,’ says the LORD, ‘so no one will live there; no man will dwell in it’” (Jeremiah 49:18).

It is no wonder why Iran is focused on Saudi Arabia, since the Bible predicted that the harlot is destroyed by the beast she rides, that is, the nations she deceived with her spiritual harlotry – Islam.

Saudi Police Kill Ethiopian, Arrest Foreigners

Come out of her, my people,’ so that you will not share in her sins, so that you will not receive any of her plagues” [Revelation 18:4]

The Lord is warning of judgment to come to these wicked nations and warns them to leave the country. They’ll soon receive a just retribution  Leave these Godforsaken desert, don’t send / travel to these countries, and never allow their citizens into your country!!!

LazArabSaudi police killed an Ethiopian migrant who tried to flee arrest, authorities said Wednesday, as a crackdown on foreigners working illegally in the kingdom widens with more than 16,000 arrests.

The security sweep comes after seven months of warnings by Saudi Arabia’s government, which has created a special task force of 1,200 Labor Ministry officials who are combing shops, construction sites, restaurants and businesses in search of foreign workers employed without proper permits.

Police have also erected checkpoints to enforce the kingdom’s strict labor rules that make it virtually impossible to remain in the country without official sponsorship by an employer.

Residents said most shops have been closed since the sweep began Monday, with many of the country’s migrants avoiding the streets where they face possible arrest. State-backed Saudi Gazette reported Wednesday that residents are already feeling the brunt of the everyday work the migrants provided, from ritual washings of corpses before burial to food delivery and bagging groceries.

Authorities say that since warnings were issued earlier this year, almost 7 million foreigners in Saudi Arabia corrected their paperwork to accurately reflect their occupation and workplace. The kingdom also issued more than 1 million final exit visas, which ban people from ever returning.

The Saudi-owned Asharq al-Awsat newspaper reported that authorities detained around 16,500 workers in the first 48 hours of the nationwide crackdown. The newspaper quoted Saudi officials as saying that nearly half of the migrants were arrested near the southern border with Yemen. Another 5,000 had been detained in Mecca, where some Muslims stay on illegally after pilgrimage. Less than 1,000 were detained in the main city of Riyadh.

A resident in the poorer neighborhood of el-Manhoufa in Riyadh told The Associated Press he saw police stopping people outside a mosque after prayers and arresting those who did not have the correct papers on them.

The statement Wednesday by Riyadh police chief Nasser el-Qahtani said security forces killed the African migrant worker in el-Manhoufa a day earlier when he and others tried to resist arrest. Those detained will eventually be deported.

The sweep is aimed largely at creating more job opportunities for the kingdom’s own citizens, who comprise less than half of the country’s work force.

American Christian Parents Who Adopted and Homeschooled African Kids Accused by Qatar of Killing One to Harvest Organs

The Qatari investigative police reports repeatedly suggest that Matthew and Grace could not have had a legitimate reason to adopt children who were not “good-looking” and who did not share their “hereditary traits.” The investigative reports theorize that Matthew and Grace “bought” their children in order to harvest their organs, or perhaps to perform medical experiments on them.

Prosecutors in Qatar have accused an American Christian couple of starving their adopted daughter to death in order to sell her body parts, but a leading U.S. legal advocacy group said they are innocent and that the entire case is based on “faulty science” and misunderstandings by Qatar over interracial adoptions and homeschooling.

If convicted, Matthew and Grace Huang could face the death penalty.

Ethiopia Bans Citizens From Travelling Abroad for Work

MewelweyaEthiopia’s government has temporarily banned its citizens from travelling abroad to look for work, the state-run Erta news agency reports.

The foreign ministry was quoted as saying countless Ethiopians had lost their lives or undergone untold physical and psychological trauma because of illegal human trafficking.

The decision was meant to “safeguard the well-being of citizens”, it added.

The travel ban will remain in place until a “lasting solution” is found.

The ministry said the government had taken various measures to limit the suffering of its citizens, including setting up a national council and a taskforce to educate them.

But those measures had not been able to address the problem sufficiently, it added.

Employment agencies will also be barred from facilitating travel abroad.

The scarcity of work opportunities is a major factor fuelling emigration from Ethiopia, which has Africa’s second largest population. Youth unemployment is officially estimated at more than 50%.

Human rights activists also say a significant number of those classified as economic migrants flee the country because of political and economic oppression or ethnic discrimination by the state.

Many Ethiopians try to reach Saudi Arabia, travelling via Yemen by sea and entering the kingdom illegally. Thousands of others head for South Africa, Israel and Europe.

They often end up being smuggled, trafficked or subjected to mental and physical torture. And once they reach their destinations, many require humanitarian assistance or face a wide range of abuses from employers.

UN Investigator Says Human Rights Abuses in Eritrea Spur Up to 3,000 to Flee Every Month

Alarming human rights abuses in Eritrea are spurring between 2,000 and 3,000 people to flee the east African nation every month, despite a “shoot-to-kill policy” targeting those attempting to leave, a U.N. investigator said Thursday.

Sheila Keetharuth, the U.N. special rapporteur on human rights in Eritrea, said the U.N. refugee agency was concerned about 305,723 Eritreans who have fled over the past decade.

“The most serious human rights violations are being committed” in Eritrea, Keetharuth said, including extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, extended incommunicado detention, torture, indefinite national service, and lack of freedom of expression, assembly, religious belief and movement.
