For Western Christians, Epiphany is the day the Magi visited the baby Jesus. Most Christians in the West follow the Gregorian calendar, and the holiday is celebrated on January 6 or 7. For Eastern Orthodox Christians, Epiphany celebrates the baptism of Jesus (rather than the visit of the Magi). Eastern churches using the Gregorian calendar (for example, most Greeks) also celebrate Epiphany on January 6 or 7. For those using the ‘Julian’ calendar (like Greek Old Calendarists and Ethiopian Orthodox), Epiphany falls on January 19.

Timkat is the Ethiopian Orthodox celebration of Epiphany. The Chapel of the Tablet in Axum houses The original Ark of the Covenant or Tabot. Tabot is taking out of the chapel during a Timkat. A priest carrying a covered Tabot on his head and parading through the streets to the pool area. Tabot is storing inside a ceremonial tent (Tabernacle) for first night.

✞ Magi’s Tomb in Axum (Aksum), Ethiopia

A Magi’s Tomb may have been found in Axum (Aksum), Ethiopia. The Birth of Christ is said to have taken place in the eighth year of Emperor Bazén’s reign. The Ethiopian church teaches that Emperor Bazén was one of the Magi who visited Jesus soon after his birth. He delivered the gift of Frankincense.

Emperor Bazén (Jewish), whose name also appears as Zäbe’esi Bazén, ZäBazén Balthazar or Tazén, was the seventeenth or twenty-first ruler of the Solomonic line according to the shorter King Lists or the twenty-fifth or twenty-sixth ruler of his line according to the longer King Lists.

Because papyrus and skins did not survive due to the humidity, of old it has only been oral tradition, or stone inscriptions. What we think is the Magi’s tomb, can be visited today in Axum (Aksum) as can the Boswellia grove that the frankincense most likely came from. When the Emperor returned to Axum he announced that the Messiah had been born. There are several accounts of who the Magi specifically were.

The so-called “Stone of Bazen” is now built into one of the walls of the cathedral of Maryam Tseyon at Aksum, or St. Mary of Zion. It is St. Mary of Zion where many believe the Ark of the Covenant is waiting. (Zephaniah 3:10-12: From beyond the rivers of Ethiopia my worshipers, the daughter of My dispersed ones, shall bring My offering.)

In addition to the Tomb of Bazén, located to the West of the city of Axum is what is called the Tomb of Ityopis. The Book of Aksum that was kept at St. Mary of Zion church and was written in the 14th to 17th century AD with updates in the 19th century AD states that Ityopis was the great grandson of Noah.

The late Ruth Plant identified the location per archeologist Stuart Munro-Hay.

Modern day Israel confirms the great numbers of Beta Israel living in Ethiopia. Bazen ruled at a time of great Judaic influence in Aksum. 😇 The Relics of The Three Magi in the city of COLOGNE (Colonia – Catherine COLONNA)

The Shrine of the Three Kings, also known as the Tomb of the Three Kings or the Tomb of the Three Magi, is a reliquary traditionally believed to contain the bones of the Biblical Magi, also known as the Three Kings or the Three Wise Men. The shrine is a large gilded and decorated triple sarcophagus placed above and behind the high altar of Cologne Cathedral in Germany. It is considered the high point of Mosan art and the largest reliquary in the western world.

According to legend dating to the 12th century, the relics of the Magi were originally situated at Constantinople after being discovered by Saint Helen, but brought to Milan with two small cows which transported a large sarcophagus of marble by Bishop Eustorgius I of Milan in 344, to whom they were entrusted by the Emperor Constans I. Eight centuries later in 1164, Holy Roman Emperor Frederick Barbarossa took the relics of the Magi from the Church of Saint Eustorgio in Milan and gave them to the Archbishop of Cologne, Rainald of Dassel. The Three Kings have since attracted a constant stream of pilgrims to Cologne. A part of these relics were returned to the Basilica of Sant’Eustorgio of Milan in 1904.

7 Years Later U.S. Begins Ebola Screenings at Airports for Uganda Travelers

ሲ.አይ.ኤ ቅጥረኛውን ግራኝ አብዮት አህመድ አሊን ያዋረደውን የቀድሞውን የኬኒያን ፕሬዚደንትን ኡሁሩ ኬኒያታን አንስቶ ቅጥረኛውን ዊሊያም ሩቶን ከተካ በኋላ፤ ወስላታው ሩቶ የመጀመሪያውን ጉብኝቱን ያካሄድው በአዲስ አበባ ነበር፤ የኢትዮ ቴሌኮምን ለመውረስና ለአረመኔው ግራኝ አንድነትን ለማሳየት። በበነገታውም ሩቶ ያመራው ወደ ኡጋንዳ ነበር። የኡጋንዳው ፕሬዚደንት ዬዎሪ ሙሴቬኒ ጄነራል ልጅ ምናልባት በሲ.አይ.ኤ በኩል ለመፈንቅለ መንግስት እየተዘጋጀ ሊሆን ይችላል፤ ሰሞኑን የኡጋንዳው ፕሬዝዳንት ዩዌሪ ሙሴቪኒ ከፍተኛ ወታደራዊ አመራር የሆኑት ልጃቸው ጄነራል ካይኒሩጋባ የኬንያን ዋና ከተማ ናይሮቢን፤ እወራለሁ፤ በቀናት ውስጥ መቆጣጠር እችላለሁ” ለማለት ደፍረው ነው ነበር። “የኡጋንዳ መሪዎች ከሕወሓት ጋር ጥሩ ግኑኝነት አላቸው፣ ተዋጊዎች በኡጋንዳ ይሰለጥናሉ…” የሚሉ ዜናዎችንስ ስንሰማ አልነበረምን? ምስጢሩ ምን ይሆን?

ከዚህ በተጨማሪ የኢቦላ ወረርሽኝ በኡጋንዳ በከፍተኛ ፍጥነት በመሰራጨት ላይ ነው።

ዕጣን እና ከርቤ ምናልባት በመጽሐፍ ቅዱስ ትርጓሜያቸው በጣም የታወቁ ናቸው። እነዚህ የዛፍ ጭማቂዎች በዓለም ዙሪያ ለስድስት ሺህ ዓመታት ያህል በጣም የተከበሩ ናቸው። እነዚህ ጥሩ መዓዛ ያላቸው የዕጣንና ከርቤ ዛፎች “በቅርቡ ወደ መጥፋት ሊያመሩ ይችላሉ።” የሚለው ስጋት መሰማት ከጀመረ ዓመታት አስቆጥሯል። የእነዚህ ዛፎች መነሻ ከአክሱም ጽዮን ነው።

የጌታችንን ልደት በኮከብ ተረድተው ሰብአ ሰገል (የጥበብ ሰዎች) ማንቱሲማር፣ ሜልኩ በዲዳስፋ የተባሉ የፋርስ ነገሥታት ወርቅ፣ ዕጣን ከርቤ አምጥተው የመገበራቸው (አምሐ አድርገው የመስጠታቸው) ምስጢር እንደምንድን ነው ቢሉ፡–

ወርቅ መገበራቸው ይኸን የምንገብርላቸው ነገሥታት ቀድሞም ፍጡራን ኋላም ኀላፍያን ናቸው። አንተ ግን ቀድሞም ያልተፈጠርህ ነህ፤ ኋላም የማታልፍ ነህ ሲሉ፤ አንድም ወርቅ ጽሩይ ነው፤ ጽሩየ ባሕርይ ነህ ሲሉ፤ እንዲሁም በአንተ ያመኑ ምዕመናንም ጽሩያነ ምግባር ወሃይማኖት ናቸው ሲሉ። አንድም ወርቅ የሃይማኖት ምሳሌ ነው። የሃይማኖት ጽሩይነቱና ግብዝነቱ የሚታወቅ መከራ ሲቀበሉበት ነውና።

❖ ዕጣን፡–

ዕጣን መገበራቸው ይህንን የምናጥናቸው ጣዖታት ቀድሞም ፍጡራን ኋላም ኀላፍያን ናቸው። አንተ ግን ቀድሞም ያልተፈጠርህ ኋላም የማታልፍ ነህ ሲሉ። አንድም ዕጣን ምዑዝ ነው፤ አንተም በባሕርይ ምዑዝ ነህ ሲሉ እንዲሁ ደግሞ በአንተም የሚያምኑ ምእመናንን ምዑዛነ ምግባር ወሃይማኖት ናቸው ሲሉ። አንድም ዕጣን የተስፋ ምሳሌ ነው። ዕጣን ከሩቅ እንዲሸት ተስፋ ያልያዙትን እንደያዙት ያላዩትን እንዳዩት ታደርጋለችና።

❖ ከርቤ፡–

ከርቤ መገበራቸው ምንም ቀድሞ ያልተፈጠርህ በኋላም የማታልፍ ብትሆንም በሰውነትህ መራራ ሞትን ትቀበላለህ ሲሉ፤ አንድም ከርቤ የተሰበረውን ይጠግናል፤ የተለየውን አንድ ያደርጋል። አንተም ከማኅበረ መላእክት የተለየ አዳምን አንድ ታደርገዋለህ፤ ጽንዓ ነፍስ ሰጥተህ ታጸናዋለህ ሲሉ። አንድም በዕለተ ዓርብ ያቀምሱታልና ከርቤ አመጡለት። ከርቤ የምዕመናን ምሳሌ ነው። በፍቅር አንድ ይሆናሉና። ከርቤ የፍቅር ምሳሌ ነው። ከርቤ አንድ እንዲያደርግ ፤ ፍቅርም አንድ ታደርጋለችና።

በአጠቃላይ ሰብአ ሰገል ወርቅ፣ እጣን ከርቤ የገበሩለት ሃይማኖት፣ ፍቅር፣ ተስፋ፣ ገንዘቦችህ ናቸው ሲሉ ነው። በሌላ መልኩ ወርቅ ለመንግሥቱ፣ ዕጣን ለመለኮቱ፣ ከርቤ ለሞቱ ምሳሌ ናቸው።

💭 The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) on Thursday implemented Ebola testing for travelers who have visited Uganda within the past 21 days.

Uganda is currently battling an Ebola outbreak that killed at least nine people over the past two weeks.

The U.S. Embassy in Uganda advised travelers that flights from Uganda to the United States must arrive at five selected airports — JFK, Newark, Atlanta, Chicago O’Hare, or Dulles — so they can be screened. The embassy reassured travelers that the risk of contracting Ebola is “currently low.”

The United States normally receives about 140 passengers per day who have visited Uganda recently, and more than half of them already pass through those five airports.

Similar steps were taken in March 2021, when travelers from the Democratic Republic of Congo and Guinea were routed through six U.S. airports for Ebola screening.

The Ugandan Ebola outbreak is troubling to international health officials because it managed to spread for three weeks before the first case was formally noted on September 20. It also seems to be spreading with unusual speed, although the total number of cases remains low. Ebola can remain undetected inside a human carrier for long periods of time and can be spread by animals.

As of Thursday, there have been 43 confirmed cases and nine fatalities from the outbreak, most of them in Uganda’s central administrative and commercial hub of Mubende. Six of the infections, and four of the fatalities, occurred among healthcare workers. To date, no infections have been reported outside of Uganda.

Uganda’s health ministry believes at least 18 other people may have died from Ebola before the outbreak was declared but the bodies were buried before they could be tested.

Uganda is suffering from the relatively uncommon Sudan strain of Ebola, for which there is currently no approved vaccine. Six possible vaccines are under development, with the most promising candidate developed by the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) in Bethesda, Maryland. NIAID is reportedly considering a small shipment of its vaccine to Uganda within the next week for emergency use.

The outbreak is already the largest faced by Uganda in over 20 years and World Health Organization (W.H.O.) emergency operations manager Dr. Fiona Braka warned on Thursday that “we still haven’t reached the peak.”

ከአደዋው ጽዮናዊ/ኢትዮጵያዊው ድል በኋላ የመንፈሳዊ ማንነትና ምንነት የተሸከመውን ብኵርናቸውን በምስር ወጥ ለውጠው የስጋዊ ማንነትንና ምንነትን እንዲሁም ዓለማዊ የሆነውን ነገር ሁሉ ለመውረስ የወሰኑት የምኒልክ ‘ኢትዮጵያ ዘ-ስጋ‘ አራት ትውልዶች፤

የታሪካዊቷ ኢትዮጵያ ጠላቶች የሆኑት የእነዚህ አራት ትውልዶች የበላይነት ግን ለአንዴና ለመጨረሻ ጊዜ ዛሬ በማክተም ላይ ነው። እነ ለተሰንበት ግደይ በአቴቴ ሲልፋን ሃሰን ላይ ያሳዩት ድልም በጣም አስገራሚ የሆነ አመላካች ክስተት ነው! በአሜሪካዋ ኦሬጎን መታየቱም ያለምክኒያት አይደለም። አታላዩ፣ ክፉውና አረመኔው ጋላ-ኦሮሞ አብቅቶለታል።

ጀግኖቹ ለተሰንበት፣ ጎተይቶም፣ ጉዳፍና ስዮም ድል የተቀዳጁት ለጽዮናዊቷ ኢትዮጵያ እንጅ ባለ አምስት ፈርጥ የሉሲፈር ኮከብ ላረፈበት ሰንደቅ እንዲሁም ዛሬ የፋሺስቱ ጋላ-ኦሮሞ አገዛዝ ለሚያሳድዳት ኢትዮጵያ ዘ-ስጋና ለምኒልክ / ሕወሓት ትግራይ አይደለም።

ብዙዎቹ “ኢትዮጵያውያን ነን” የሚሉት ግብዞች እግዚአብሔር አምላክ ያሳየንን ተዓምር ለማራከስ ሲሉ የእነ ጉዳፍን ድል ለደራርቱ ቱሉ ለመስጠት ሞክረዋል። የእነ ጎይተቶምን ስም በመጥራት ፈንታ የደራርቱን ስም መቶ ጊዜ ደግመው ደጋግመው ሲጠሩ ተሰምተዋል። ለምሳሌ፤ በጽዮናውያን ለተፈጸመው የዘር ማጥፋት ወንጀል ተጠያቂዎች ከሆኑት ወሸከቲያሞች “ከወርቁ ጀርባ ያለው ወርቅ” የሚል ርዕስ ሰጥተው በጽዮንና በጽላተ ሙሴ ፈንታ ደራርቱ ቱሉን የዚህ ድል ባለቤት እንደሆነች አድርገው በማቅረብ ሲወሻክቱ ይሰማሉ።

ከአምስት ዓመታት በፊት በአዲስ አበባ ቦሌ ቅዱስ ሚካኤል ቤተ ክርስቲያን አንድ ከትግራይ የመጣ ወንድማችን ወደኔ መጥቶ ብዙ የግል ታሪኮቹን ያጫውተኝ ነበር። በወያኔ ትግል ወቅት እንደቆሰለ፣ በኋላም ወደ አዲስ አበባ መጥቶ ጦር ኃይሎች አካባቢ በአንድ ባለኃብት ተቋም ተቀጥሮ እንደሠራና ቀጣሪውም ለህክምና ተገቢውን እርዳታ ስለማያደርግለት ወደ ትግራይ ለመመለስ እንደወሰነ አሳዛኝ በሆነ መልክ አጫወተኝ። ታሪኩን ሙሉ በሙሉ ስለተቀበልኩት በጣም ረበሸኝና ያለኝን ገንዘብ አውጥቼ ሰጠሁት። ወንድማችንም ደንዘዝ/ፈዘዝ ብሎ እግሬን ለመሳም ሲወድቅ፤ “ኧረ በጭራሽ! ይህማ አይሆንም፤ እኔ ኃብታም ሆኜ አይደለም፤ ግን ካለኝ እንካፈል ብዬ ነው፤ ደግሞ ይህን ገንዘብ የሰጠህ ቅዱስ ሚካኤል በዕለቱ እንጅ እኔ አይደለሁም… እኔን አታመስግነኝ!” አልኩት።

አዎ! እግዚአብሔርና ቅዱስ ሚካኤል ነበር የሰጡት።

የእነ ለተሰንበት ድል ላለፉት መቶ ሰላሳ ዓመታት፤ በተለይም ላለፉት አራት ዓመታት በጽዮናውያኑ ኢትዮጵያውያን ላይ ለዘመቱት ቃኤላውያን፣ እስማኤላውያን፣ ኤዶማውያንና ይሁዳዎች ጽዮናውያንን ይቅርታ ጠይቀው በንስሐ ይመለሱ ዘንድ ሌላ ዕድል ያገኙበትና የመጨረሻው ምልክትም የታየበት ድል ነው።

Flight 17 & The Panorama of Peril

The downing of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 as it flew from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur yesterday, killing nearly 300 men, women and children, currently dominates today’s headline-rich environment. Accusations about who is behind this wholesale slaughter of innocents are serving as the drumbeats for war, and they are increasing in volume and tempo.

 

Unfortunately, most Americans and those in the West will fall victim to thinly veiled propaganda pushed by the major news agencies and their captive pundits that is deliberately designed to sway public opinion to a specific agenda—an agenda of war. We are being played, and if we don’t exercise our own intellectual discernment to understand how this incident fits into the larger picture, it will be not just be to our own peril, but to the peril of our children and generations to come.

 

Setting the global stage

 

To understand the significance of the downing of Flight 17, we must look at the bigger picture and think outside of the box created for us by those in power and their facilitators in the media. We must understand a bit of history, and realize that we are not seeing anything new in terms of tactics or orchestration.

 

 

To anyone who has been paying the least bit of attention, it is obvious that the global power structure is being reordered to meet a specific and predetermined design. We are witnessing orchestrated global chaos that transcends partisan politics and has been long in the making. We need to view the current geopolitical events in a panoramic setting, and understand how each of these events are related like cogs in the gear of the globalists. Each geopolitical event of significance is being done by design, but by whose design, when did this restructuring begin, and what is the end-game objective? The answers will not be found coming from the mouths of our leaders or the captured fourth estate. You must look deeper than the sound bites that are creating the drumbeats of war.

 

As I have previously written, it is important to understand that the Arab Spring was planned far in advance and was not spontaneous. It was never about establishing “democracy” or freeing the oppressed. So too was the planned overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi, and the use of Libya as the marketplace and transit point for weapons of war by a rogue, out-of-control cabal of globalists within the U.S. government and other Western countries.

 

It was and continues to be war by proxy, where the globalists embedded inside our government have become the captured operatives of a Saudi and pan-Islamic agenda hell-bent on changing the balance of power in the Middle East and all across the northern hemisphere to create a “New World Order.” The problem is that we seem to have lost the capacity to see the bigger picture, willingly turned a blind eye to the machinations of the globalist agenda, or worse, refuse to release our death grip on the false political paradigm. Accordingly and with minimal objections, the restructuring of power is continuing largely unfettered.

 

This is why and how we find ourselves at this point in world history, where chaos is increasing exponentially. Left unchecked, it will soon make its appearance personal to each of us. Failure to expose the lies and lawlessness of the leadership on both sides of the political spectrum, from the Renegade-in-Chief, his band of in-house outlaws as well as those facilitators holding positions of leadership within each branch of the U.S. federal government, and in addition to the media mouthpieces of disinformation, will most assuredly lead us to global war.

 

Flight 17: The 21st Century Lusitania?

 

What, you might ask, does this seemingly redundant recap of recent history have to do with a single passenger plane that was shot down over a war zone? Was it merely a tragic, isolated and unforeseeable event? Based on careful analysis and information into the larger agenda given to me by inside intelligence and financial sources, I say “no.” The reason, I contend, behind the downing of Flight 17 is much more nefarious than I’ve seen discussed elsewhere. Simply stated, it is my belief that we are witnessing the run-up to World War III. We must look through the prism of history to see how Flight 17 can easily become the spark that ignites the dry tinder carefully positioned by the global powers, the financial elite, and those vying for a seat at the table of global power.

 

As a result of the attack at Benghazi, the plans of the globalists were exposed and temporarily sidelined. The Renegade-in-Chief, Barack Hussein Obama, and his co-conspirators within the U.S. State Department and other Western and Middle Eastern countries were exposed as operating the largest criminal weapons running operation in history. The intent was (and remains) to further change the balance of power by ousting Bashir Assad, replacing Assad with a puppet regime to further advance the Saudi-Wahabbi agenda. Syria of is critical military importance to Russia and economic importance to China, so such a plan would cross Putin’s red line.

 

Despite the obvious, most Americans remain oblivious to the global plans, mostly due to lies that are large enough, repeated often enough, and left unchallenged or reinforced by the media. The “failure” of the initial plans to overthrow Assad were merely a speed bump in the road to the global restructuring. Instead, plan “B” was implemented, which involved the creation and backing of ISIS to open a new front against Syria. ISIS, equipped by U.S. and Western powers, is indeed on a “Death Race to Damascus” as I previously described.

 

The criminal cabal that exists within the U.S. government continues to poke at the proverbial Russian bear. The Cold War never ended, it merely took on different forms. The Islamic agenda not only plays an important role in this strategy, but they too are being played by the globalists. Regional conflicts and various civil wars have been and continue to be seeded by Western intelligence agencies to change the balance of power. It’s much like merging the Bay of Pigs with the real-life version of the movie Groundhog Day. Given such proxy and asymmetrical wars where the Western alliance is creating chaos against Russia and by proxy, China, isn’t it reasonable to expect some tit-for-tat response? And when that response arrives, what might we expect to happen?

 

In this most recent campaign of global power restructuring to benefit the global political and financial interests, one element has been notably missing. It’s an element we saw immediately following the attacks of September 11, 2001. Decades before that, it was an element missing from the American populace in the run-up to World War I: the tide of public opinion.

 

Students of history will recall that it was not until the sinking of the Lusitania on May 7, 1915, that killed nearly 1200 people that the tide of public opinion turned in America. Until then, the American people had no desire to enter the war. With that single incident, where the Lusitania was traveling though an area known for its danger from German U-Boats, and traveling against many warnings, that public sentiment was manipulated. The sinking of the Lusitania turned public opinion in the U.S., and many other countries against Germany. It resulted in the U.S. entering World War I. That single incident became an iconic symbol in military recruiting campaigns of why the war was being fought.

 

While the leaders and pundits point the fingers of blame to who shot down Malaysia Airlines Flight 17, wouldn’t it be pertinent to question why this particular flight was flying over a designated war zone contrary to standard operational procedures? This flight was in the same area as other military transport planes that were shot down in the days and weeks before. Like the Lusitania, however, warnings were apparently discarded… or perhaps the risk downplayed. Many will dismiss this claim out of hand, asserting that the flight was traveling at too high an altitude and too fast to be victimized by the wrath of regional conflict. Perhaps those making such assertions should make their case to the families of the victims rather than on the media talk shows.

 

As the photos of the dead are used as tools of propaganda, emotion and demonization, however warranted, overshadows rational analysis and pertinent inquiries. The globalists and their pundit cheerleaders will continue to beat the drums of war, making the case for U.S. involvement, reminiscent of 1915. Those who fail to learn from history, we are told, are doomed to repeat it.

 

Why Ukraine?

 

The ultimate control of Ukraine, or who controls Ukraine, is hanging in the balance. The fight for control exists between the West and Russia, or more precisely, a Western multinational interest that includes Saudi Arabia and others, integrated with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and a Russia-China alliance. According to “V, The Guerrilla Economist” whom I have interviewed on numerous occasions, at issue is the “New Silk Road.” That is a physical road—a corridor, that connects China and Russia to Europe for the benefit of the Eurasian trade zone. And most importantly, there can be no EurAsian Trade Zone without Ukraine, which has an economic output second only to Russia.

 

Lest we forget, it was the IMF that was first entity on the ground in Ukraine as the “conflict” began. It is the goal of the globalists to collapse not just the U.S. dollar and our economy, but take the entire global economy down in order to establish a single global currency. We must not only understand the enormity of the lies being forced upon us, but the magnitude of the agenda. At a time when we cannot get truthful answers to topics ranging from Benghazi, missing IRS e-mails and every other subject of import, and as lawlessness has overtaken our leadership, it is incumbent upon us to question everything.

 

We are witnessing a very dangerous game being played out by the powers above those we recognize as leaders. This process of global restructuring is deadly serious, and as we’ve seen, quite deadly. As long as we are silent about the evil machinations of the globalist powers, they will continue to advance their agenda.

 

We must consider the downing of Flight 17 as part of the larger “panorama of peril” and not fall into the trap set before us, for if we do, we will subjugate ourselves and our future generations to the oppression and bondage of a New World Order.

A British excavation has struck archaeological gold with a discovery that may solve the mystery of where the Queen of Sheba of biblical legend derived her fabled treasures.

Almost 3,000 years ago, the ruler of Sheba, which spanned modern-day Ethiopia and Yemen, arrived in Jerusalem with vast quantities of gold to give to King Solomon. Now an enormous ancient goldmine, together with the ruins of a temple and the site of a battlefield, have been discovered in her former territory.

Louise Schofield, an archaeologist and former British Museum curator, who headed the excavation on the high Gheralta plateau in northern Ethiopia, said: “One of the things I’ve always loved about archaeology is the way it can tie up with legends and myths. The fact that we might have the Queen of Sheba’s mines is extraordinary.”

An initial clue lay in a 20ft stone stele (or slab) carved with a sun and crescent moon, the “calling card of the land of Sheba”, Schofield said. “I crawled beneath the stone – wary of a 9ft cobra I was warned lives here – and came face to face with an inscription in Sabaean, the language that the Queen of Sheba would have spoken.”
