The Exorcist: Priest performs mass exorcism on hundreds of people who paid up to a month’s wages to rid themselves of demons at Ethiopian ceremony

  • Hundreds queue up to meet with a priest and ‘exorcist‘ at a rural church outside Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

  • Exorcism rituals to ‘rid the body of demons‘ sometimes take place in the Ethiopian Orthodox church

  • This instance saw 150 line up to see a priest charging up to one-month’s wages for an ‘exorcism

  • Images show the priest touch believers on the forehead with a cross and spraying them with ‘holy water

A mass exorcism ritual involving hundreds of Ethiopian Christians, who paid up to a month’s wages to be punched by a priest and doused in ‘holy water‘, has been captured in a fascinating photo series.

Some 150 people had been queuing up at a church outside the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa in order to meet a local celebrity healer whom they believe would be able to free them from ‘demons‘.

The photos show people of all ages crying hysterically as a cross touches their forehead, or being held down by relatives as they try to avoid being ‘exorcised‘, kicking and screaming.

Set me free: A woman is being held in place by two men as she screams while being sprayed with holy water

God’s work‘: A man is seen crying hysterically as priest and healer Memehir Girma Wedimu touches him with a cross

Other striking shots show a woman seemingly screaming with all her might as she is brought up to the priest, grown men in tears, and dozens of people being hosed down with holy water.

They were taken by Czech photographer David Tesinsky who had ventured to Ethiopia specifically to capture exorcism rituals.

After two weeks of trying to convince locals to let in photograph the religious events, he found the Yerer Selassie church, not far from Addis Ababa, where locals were lining up to meet Ethiopian Orthodox priest Memehir Girma Wedimu.

‘People were crying, screaming and Memehir was punching them,’ said Tesinsky. ‘Memehir, I learned, had rejected all other churches, because he earned more money than the church itself.

He kept asking for money – I saw one very old woman give him a $100 (£76) bill to ‘expel’ her of demons and he still wanted more, even though that $100 was most likely all she could earn in one month.’

Popular past-time: Some 150 people had lined up at the church outside Addis Ababa to meet with the priest

Rain in abundance: A young woman who had lined up to be ‘freed‘ from evil spirits is doused in water

Fear and faith: A man needs to be held in place and struggles as Memehir Girma Wedimu performs a ritual

Price for freedom: Memehir Girma Wedimu reportedly charged those who turned up for an exorcism up to one-month’s wages for a ‘spirit cleanser‘ ritual

Strong beliefs: Nearly three quarters of Christians in Ethiopia claim to have experienced or witnessed an exorcism

‘These exorcism rituals are usually performed if someone is not responding to modern medicine or if they are misbehaving.

‘Their families think they are possessed by a “demon spirit” or “buda” – the power of the evil eye. They must be performed by a local priest.’

Ethiopia has had a significant Christian population for centuries, and the Ethiopian Church is the largest pre-colonial Christian church in Africa.

The belief in demons and the devil found across the religious spectrum is strong, in particularly in rural areas, and according to a 2010 survey, nearly three quarters of Christians in Ethiopia claim to have experienced or witnessed an exorcism.

My Note:

What a load of crap, pack of lies, woow! Now they send a wicked Czech Photographer to mess up with Ethiopians, huh!

[John 8:44]

You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Biased Daily Mail | Primitive Fake News Against Ethiopians

Posted by addisethiopia / አዲስ ኢትዮጵያ on June 23, 2017

The following stories will show us how biased and hateful the sensationalist British media is towards Ethiopia and Ethiopians. The following are some of the reports published by the Daily Mail – only in the last couple of weeks – during a Spring of lazy journalism.

In every case, you’ll notice that the language and imagery used are primitive, monotonous and tiresome.

British media waited for days to reveal the identity of both the Manchester and London Islamic terrorists. Even Police don’t release the suspect’s names now. Astonishing, they’re still struggling to openly and truthfully talk about the danger and menace of Islam. Please read here about the hypocrisy of Daily Mail’s pharisee par-excellence, Pierce Morgan.

On the other hand – as the 2nd example demonstrates — they immediately brought the name and origin of the Grenfell Tower resident whose fridge is reported to have started the tower block fire.

Perhaps they are just following a strict order from their deep-state masters:

Example 1

The Story of the ‘Raped’ Hungarian Woman in Germany

a. This incident occurred last year. Only the court case was presented this week, nobody knows yet whether the accuser was right or wrong (I personally doubt her dubious allegation) But the Daily Mail reports as if the alleged rape took place this week.

b. The identity of the alleged rapists is revealed by the German Media as ERITREANS. And they’re indeed Eritreans. But the Daily Mail wrote, „Hungarian woman said ETHIOPIAN men attacked her… „

Example 2

The London Tower Block Fire

The Ethiopian to blame – The Boogeyman

The following story and supplementary video explain why they rushed to find a scapegoat with the Ethiopian taxi driver – everything was pre-planned for a potential „Ethiopian Spring„:

1,500 Complain To IPSO over Mail Online Story Naming Grenfell Tower Resident ‘whose Fridge Exploded’

Press regulator IPSO has received more than 1,500 complaints over a Mail Online story which names and pictures a Grenfell Tower resident whose fridge is reported to have started last week’s devastating London tower block fire.

Some 27,000 people have also signed an online petition urging the Daily Mail and The Sun to “take down all images, mentions of his name and all content linking him to the source of this fire immediately”.

The man has been widely named in other newspapers along with the theory that his fridge started the fire.

The petition says: “Regardless of where the fire began, fire safety experts have made it abundantly clear that a fire safe building would have been able to contain the fire and prevent it spreading. The rapid and unusual spread of the fire begs questions of the institutions responsible for the building, not the residents.”

The Mail Online story is headlined: “The man ‘whose faulty fridge started tower inferno’: Neighbor reveals how Ethiopian taxi driver raised the alarm when deadly blaze started in his fourth-floor kitchen.”

It was punished at 7.15am on Thursday 15 June, the day after the tragedy.

The Sun story was initially headlined: “First pictures of mini cab driver whose faulty fridge started Grenfell Tower fire”.

The headline was then changed to: “Owner of the Grenfell Tower flat where inferno started tells of agony as death toll is feared to top 100”.

The Sun story was published at 4pm on 15 June. There have been 13 complaints to IPSO about The Sun story.

A Mirror story published at around the same time as The Sun piece, covering similar ground, does not appear to have generated similar attention.

A guide on how to complain about The Sun and Mail Online articles has been circulating on Facebook.

It claims that reports saying the fridge of the man, a 41-year-old taxi driver, started the blaze are:

Inaccurate (because the fire investigation has not been completed)

Breach his privacy

Constitute harassment

And also amount to intrusion into grief or shock.

These all constitute alleged breaches of the Editors’ Code.

A spokesperson for Mail Online said: “In common with several other media outlets Mail Online identified where and how the Grenfell Tower fire started.

It attached no blame whatsoever to the occupant of that flat and in fact details how he raised the alarm and alerted his neighbors personally.

For the record Mail Online believes that, while much is still unclear, the blame for this tragedy lies squarely with those responsible for managing and renovating the tower and the authorities in charge of the policies and safety regulations within which they were operating.

This has been and remains the focus of Mail Online’s extensive coverage from the outset.

It didn’t seem to us that naming the resident would be seen as blaming him since we did not see how any reasonable person could possibly hold him responsible.”

Other graphic examples of twisted and hostile nature:

The Daily Mail reporters seem to speak with the same snaky lying tongue like the lady on this story:

Someone has even come up with a non-existent demonic term, „in the Post Truth era„ to brainwash the masses by manipulating and twisting the universal truth.
