Piers Morgan: Why I’m So Embarrassed Today For Britain

The same parliament that hasn’t banned a single UK citizen from returning after fighting for ISIS is seriously debating banning Trump from its shores

As I write this column, members of the UK Parliament are debating whether or not to ban Donald Trump from entering Britain.

They’ve allocated three hours of time to do this.

Time that could have been spent debating terrorism, famine, nuclear weapons, the Middle East refugee crisis or the Syrian War.

But no, instead British law-makers have concluded their own time is best served seriously considering a proposal to ban a man who may end up being the next President of the United States.

Members of the UK Parliament (pictured) spent Monday afternoon debating whether or not to ban Donald Trump from entering Britain. They could have spent the time debating terrorism, famine, nuclear weapons, the Middle East refugee crisis or the Syrian War. But instead British law-makers have concluded their own time is best served considering a proposal to ban a man who may end up being the next President

The reason they’re doing it is, of course, is because Trump recently called for a temporary ban on all Muslims entering the U.S. in the wake of an horrific mass shooting by two Islamic terrorists.

Like many, I didn’t agree with what Trump said and indeed, I wrote him an open letter at the time saying it was ‘dangerously wrong and bigoted’.

But to ban a foreign politician for expressing an opinion is utterly absurd. Particularly a foreign politician who stands an increasingly good chance of becoming leader of the world’s biggest superpower and Britain’s supposedly closest, most powerful ally.

Can you imagine a situation where President Trump, if he is elected, is actually banned? It would make Britain the laughing stock of the world, and confirm to Americans that we’re just as pathetically petty and small pond in our thinking as you’ve always suspected.

It would also cause serious, probably irreparable damage to Britain’s relationship with the United States.

The sheer hypocrisy in all this ‘Ban Trump’ nonsense is breathtaking.

Britain throws down the red carpet and blares out the royal bugles all the time for leaders of countries with heinous human rights records.

Trump: I turned out to be right about immigration

King Salman of Saudia Arabia can allow 50 people to be beheaded last month and nobody in the corridors of British officialdom batted a public eyelid. Yet he is treated like some kind of deity when he arrives in Britain in his fleet of gold-plated jets.

Australian TV Exposes Britain’s Pedophile Scandal That Goes Right To The Top

Posted by addisethiopia / አዲስ ኢትዮጵያ on July 19, 2015

Therefore, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is short!” [Revelation 12:12]

Channel 9’s #‎60Mins investigates the biggest political scandal in Britain’s history. It’s shaping up to be the biggest political scandal in Britain’s history. There is new evidence that some of the country’s most respected men were in fact depraved pedophiles. Leaders that were preying on children as young as eight and nine. Many of the kids were trafficked from state-run homes and other institutions to be abused by MPs, Lords, and spies.

They were protected from on high by a secret code, and have never been held to account for their horrific crimes. This Sunday, 60 Minutes investigates the scandal and the cover up, speaks to the victims and the witnesses, and confronts a member of the notorious pedophile information exchange. Reporter Ross Coulthart also reveals how children were killed in order to protect this network of predators – and how the driver to the Australian High Commissioner could hold the key to blowing this case wide open.

In Expansive Pakistan, Christians Struggle to Find Space for Cemeteries

In this tiny village where most homes don’t have windows and meals are cooked over fire pits, Christians are used to feeling like second-class citizens.

Christians say they earn less than $2 a day working in the sugarcane fields. They must shop at the sparsely stocked Christian-run rice and vegetable store. They are not allowed to draw water from wells tapped for Muslim neighbors. Now, in what many consider to be a final indignity, they and other Pakistani Christians are struggling to bury their dead.

Pakistan, whose population is overwhelmingly Muslim, is nearly twice the size of California. But leaders of the tiny Christian minority say their burial sites are being illegally seized by developers at an alarming rate, while efforts to secure new land are rejected because of religious tenets barring Muslims from being buried near people of other faiths. Increasingly, the remaining Christian cemeteries are packed with bodies atop bodies.

There is discrimination, and that is very much clear and obvious to all of us who live in this country,” said Nizar Masih, 65, a farmer who, like many Pakistani Christians, has a surname that refers to the Messiah.

Christians in Pakistan have been targets of what human rights activists call an unprecedented wave of violence against religious minorities, including Shiites, Ahmadis, Sikhs and Hindus. Thousands of members of religious minority groups have been killed over the past five years. But the Christians’ dwindling burial space is an example of a less dramatic but more persistent battle they say takes place behind the bloody headlines: a daily struggle for what might seem to be basic rights.

Pakistani Christian Woman is Sentenced to Hang

  • Asia Bibi, 46, was accused of blasphemy after dispute with Muslim women
  • Women told her Christians make Muslims’ water ‘unclean’ by drinking it
  • Tired of insults and calls for her to convert, Ms Bibi defended her religion
  • She was then accused of insulting the Prophet Mohammed, before an angry mob arrived at her home and savagely beat her and her family
  • She was ordered to convert to Islam or face death on ‘blasphemy’ charges
  • Despite international outrage she this week lost an appeal against sentence

A Pakistani Christian woman has been sentenced to hang after she was accused of making ‘blasphemous’ comments about the prophet Mohammed during an argument.

While working as a berry picker in 2009, 46-year-old Asia Bibi got into a dispute with a group of Muslim women who objected to her drinking their water because as a Christian she was considered ‘unclean’.

Hours after the incident one of the women reported mother-of-five Ms Bibi to a local cleric, claiming she had made disparaging remarks about the prophet Mohammed during the row.

As a result of the allegations, a furious mob arrived at Ms Bibi’s home and savagely beat her and members of her family.

She was later arrested, charged with blasphemy and eventually sentenced to death – with her entire family forced to go into hiding after receiving threats on their lives.

A YOUTUBE video of a parliamentary candidate declaring he is a racist has taken the internet by storm

The astonishing video, which sees Liberty GB leader Paul Weston claiming the UK needs to mount a ‘defence’ against Islam has had more than a quarter of a million views.

He says he wants to avoid a ‘civil war’ in the UK and is ‘prepared to be called a racist’ in order to do so.

The video begins with Mr Weston simply stating “Hello, my name is Paul Weston and I am a racist”.

It continues as he lists a number of political parties who class him as a racist while he stands on the bank of the Thames with the O2 arena in the background.

He says he feels the UK is under a “terrible threat” and rails against former Prime Minister Tony Blair for “undermining” Britain.

Opening the video he explains: “The Labour party think I’m a racist, the Liberal Democrats think I’m a racist, the Conservatives think I’m a racist, the BBC thinks I’m a racist, I must therefore be a racist.”

HARRODS Boycott: Qatar is Promoting Islamic Terrorism

Posted by addisethiopia / አዲስ ኢትዮጵያ on October 13, 2014

Harrods Shoppers ‘Are Buying Into Terror’

Exterior of the Harrods department store in the Knightsbridge area of London.. Image shot 2007. Exact date unknown.

Customers of Harrods, London’s most famous  are urged to join boycott in symbolic protest at Qatar’s alleged links to terror funding

Customers of Harrods are being urged to boycott the department store in a symbolic protest against its Qatari owners.

Qatar, which bought Harrods in 2010, has been accused of either directly funding terrorist groups or turning a blind eye to financiers operating out of the Gulf state.

It is now facing a backlash from protesters sickened by the executions of Western hostages in Syria and the violence wreaked on the region by the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (Isil), al-Qaeda and other offshoot terror groups.

Harrods was sold by Mohamed Al Fayed, its previous owner, to Qatar Holdings, part of the Qatar Investment Authority, the state’s sovereign wealth fund, in May 2010 for a reported £1.5 billion. The sale was concluded by Qatar’s then prime minister Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber al Thani, who was also chief executive of the wealth fund.

Under his rule, Qatar also owns or co-owns a number of other landmarks including the Shard, Europe’s tallest skyscraper, as well as large stakes in some major UK businesses.

Now Harrods is facing a boycott as a consequence of criticism of Qatar’s links to Islamist terrorists.

Mark Lewis, the solicitor who represented the family of Milly Dowler among others in the News of the World phone hacking scandal, is leading calls for a boycott.

Mr Lewis said: “We can stand back and do nothing, but when we do, we are paying for that terror … People need to know where their money is going.”

He added: “While people know very little about Qatar, its wealth has bought some of the crown jewels of English property. It owns the Shard, it owns Harrods, it might as well own our morals.

The scale of its commercial holdings is such that most of us do not even realise that we are buying into its terrorist operations.”

Baroness Cox, a cross-bench peer and committed Christian who founded an international aid charity, said: “I would back a boycott of Harrods.

As a principle, if people are using their wealth to support barbaric acts of terrorism, they should not be making money in our country and basking in the credibility of such a prestigious place.”

Simon Cobbs, of Sussex Friends of Israel, which has already organised one protest outside the Qatari embassy, said: “We will now target other Qatar-owned businesses including Harrods. We will ensure that Harrods customers know that the money they spend ultimately ends up in the hands of a regime that funds terrorism.”

Reconquered Spain Celebrates The Holy Week – Britain Conquered by Unholy Warriors

Posted by addisethiopia / አዲስ ኢትዮጵያ on April 15, 2014

SEMANA SANTA / HOLY WEEK IN SPAIN

Truly one of Spain’s most breathtaking celebrations, Easter is a one-of-a-kind display of tradition, music, culture, theatre and religion

The holiday, jubilant in Sevilla and Andalucía and solemn elsewhere in Spain, is practically defined by its stunning processions comparable to the Ethiopian Timket / Epiphany or Meskel celebrations. Each of these processions typically boasts two intensely adorned floats, one of The Virgin Mary and the other of a scene from Christ’s Passion. Take in the lavish decoration of these incredible creations as they slowly pass before you accompanied by the music of coronets and drums; its hard to do without getting chills. Underneath each float, you’ll just barely be able to make out rows and rows of feet. There are up to forty men, called costaleros, who haul the float on shoulders and control its swaying motion. In fact, they practice so much and are so in sync with each other that the realistic figures on top look eerily as if they were walking along to the music.

Impossible to miss are the seemingly endless rows of nazarenos, or penitents, who walk along with the float.. You may even see many nazarenos walking barefoot, which is pretty impressive, considering some of the processions last up to 14 hours! Oh, and don’t be thrown off by the resemblance between the pointy hoods and long robes of the nazarenos and those of the Ku Klux Klan: it’s coincidental and completely unrelated.

Don’t be surprised to see how nicely the people dress to watch the processions, especially during the second half of the week. Women often dress to the nines while many men brave the sun in full suits. Of course not everybody dresses up so much, but, basically, if you want to fit in watching the processions, just leave the t-shirt you wore to paint your garage behind.

As with any cultural celebration, Spain’s elaborate Semana Santa was for centuries a work-in-progress. The starting point for its extensive history is clearly the death of Christ, from which it takes its subject, however the celebration that we see today is the result of centuries of evolution.

A significant point in the history of the Semana Santa is 1521, when the Marqués de Tarifa returned to Spain from the Holy Land. After his journey, he institutionalized the Via Crucis (Stations of the Cross) in Spain and from that moment on this holy event was celebrated with a procession. Over time, the observance of the Via Crucis eventually broke up into the various scenes of the Passion, with the incorporation of portable crosses and altars. This would eventually lead to today’s elaborate processions.

Check out any map of Semana Santa routes and you will see the Carrera Oficial, or official route, clearly marked. This original route, while it has evolved since 1604, continues to serve as the backbone for the present route. The final major step took place in the 17th century, when Seville’s various cofradías (brotherhoods) began dividing and organizing themselves into what they are today.

Twenty Five British Schools in Birmingham to Be Investigated Over ‘Extremist Muslim’ Plot Fears

We are sinners, acting wrongly and doing evil; we have gone against you, turning away from your orders and from your laws. We have not given ear to your servants the prophets, who said words in your name to our kings and our rulers and our fathers and all the people of the land……O Lord, shame is on us, on our kings and our rulers and our fathers, because of our sin against you” [Dan. 9: 5-8]

The fifth angel sounded his trumpet; and I saw a star that had fallen out of heaven onto the earth, and he was given the key to the shaft leading down to the Abyss. He opened the shaft of the Abyss, and there went up smoke from the shaft like the smoke of a huge furnace; the sun was darkened, and the sky too, by the smoke from the shaft. Then out of the smoke onto the earth came LOCUSTS, and they were given power like the power SCORPIONS have on earth. They were instructed not to harm the grass on the earth, any green plant or any tree, but only the people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads. The LOCUSTS were not allowed to kill them, only to inflict pain on them for five months; and the pain they caused was like the pain of a SCORPION sting. In those days people will seek death but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them.

Now these LOCUSTS looked like horses outfitted for battle. On their heads were what looked like crowns of gold, and their faces were like human faces. They had hair like women’s hair, and their teeth were like those of lions. Their chests were like iron breastplates, and the sound their wings made was like the roar of many horses and chariots rushing into battle. They had tails like those of SCORPIONS, with stings; and in their TAILS was the power to hurt people for five months. They had as king over them the angel of the Abyss, whose name in Hebrew is ‘Abaddon’ and in our language, ‘Destroyer.’

ISAntiChristThe prophetic seals on the books of Daniel and Revelation are unsealing right before our very eyes, as the scourges and plagues are only increasing – Islam as a designed counterpart of Christianity always reigns where light is absent, and triumphs where apostasy prevails – like in the current Western World.

Back to the report…

In Birmingham, UK, the number of schools to be investigated over fears children are being “radicalised” by extremist Muslims attempting to seize control of institutions has increased to 25.”

Teams of inspectors are to be sent into schools and will be able to penalise those where religious conservatism is believed to be getting in the way of teaching.”

The Department for Education (DfE) launched the investigation after an alleged Islamic takeover plot to force out governors and head teachers was reported in Birmingham.”

An anonymous letter claiming responsibility for changes in leadership at four schools in the city says it was part of a campaign called Operation Trojan Horse. The letter set out a blueprint for seizing control of schools and claimed a radical group of Muslims were pursuing their own agenda in classrooms and forcing out head teachers and governors who refused to cooperate.

Birmingham City Council said it was appointing a new chief advisor to directly handle at least 200 complaints received in relation to the Operation Trojan Horse allegations focusing on schools in the city.

Here are some of the comments from British readers on the subject:

We must have had the dumbest load of politicians of any country in the last 50 years to allow this to develop”

You guys, the country of Britain, blindly and willfully let this happen to yourself. Who’s to say you don’t deserve it? Its hard to take pity on you guys when you so willfully destroy yourselves.”

Slowly but surely… they are everywhere, Holland, Belgium, France, UK… and everyone is blind to this scourge.”

We have allowed vipers to flourish in our education system”

Today Schools, tomorrow Banks, the day after the Government and Justice systems!!! When is this weak Government going to start clamping down on this Destruction of the UK from within?”

Ethiopia in Israel

Posted by addisethiopia / አዲስ ኢትዮጵያ on November 26, 2012

The scene in the above video is taken from one of the most influential and beautiful movies, “Exodus” (1960)

After the 22 July 1946 „King David“ hotel bombing to exonerate Jewish zeal and to evoke a sense of Christian forgiveness for acts of post-Holocaust Jewish violence. In this case, ‘Dov’ Shakes off British security men by weaving in and out of Jerusalem’s Ethiopian Church and hiding behind Christian relics and clergy processions.

The Brilliant Ruth Gruber, Photojournalist (1911 – )

In 1946, President Harry S. Truman learned that the Jewish survivors in the refugee camps of the American Zone of Germany were living under appalling conditions. As one historian observed, the camps “differed from the Nazi camps only in that the inmates were not deliberately exterminated.”

Truman pressed the British to accept 100,00 Jewish refugees into Palestine. The British responded by proposing to create a joint Committee of Inquiry to visit the displaced person (DP) camps in Germany and then go to North Africa and Palestine to asses the feasibility of resettling the Jewish Dps there.

Having finished her resettlement work with the Jewish refugees at Fort Ontario, New Yourk, Ruth Gruber packed up her Camera, notebooks and typewriter and followed the Joint Committee as a correspondent for the New York Post, Gruber reported in her dispatches, the survivors greeted its members with signs like “We want to go. We must go. We will go to Palestine.” When asked why he wanted to go to Palestine, a sixteen-year-old orphan who had survived Bergen-Belsen replied, “Why? Everybody has a home. The British. The Americans. The French. The Russians. Only we Jews have no home. Don’t ask us. Ask the world.”

The committee members spent four months in Europe. Palestine and the Arab countries and another month in Switzerland digesting their experiences. At the end of their deliberations, the twelve members– six Britons and six Americans—unanimously agreed that Britain should allow 100,00 Jewish immigrants to settle in Palestine. The celebrations that followed in the camps were soon stilled, however, when the British foreign minister. Ernes Bevin, rejected this finding.

Eventually, the United Nations took up the issue. The UN appointed a Special Committee on Palestine (UNSCOP). Like its predecessor, UNSCOP visited the camps in Germany and then went on to the Arab states and Palestine. Gruber accompanied UNSCOP as a correspondent for the New York Herald. While in Jerusalem, she learned that a former American pleasure boat, renamed the Exodus 1947, had attempted to bring 4,500 Jewish refugees to Palestine– including 600 children, mostly orphans – but had been intercepted by five British destroyers and a cruiser. Gruber left immediately for Haifa and witnessed the Exodus entering the harbor, looking, as Gruber wrote, “like a matchbox splintered by a nutcrackes.”

During the “battle,” the British had rammed the Exodus and stormed it with guns, tear gas and truncheons. The crew, mostly Jews from America and Palestine, had fought back with potatoes, sticks and cans of kosher meat. The Exodus’s second officer, Bill Bernstein of San Francisco, was clubbed to death trying to prevent a British soldier from entering the wheelhouse. Two orphans were killed, one shot in the face after he threw an orange at a soldier.

When she learned that the prisoner from the Exodus were being transferred to Cyprus, Gruber flew there overnight. While waiting for the Exodus detainees, she photographed Jewish prisoners from earlier landing attempts living behind barbed wire in steaming hot tents with almost no water or sanitary facilities. “You had to smell Cyprus to believe it,” she cabled the Herald.

The British changed their plans and sent the Exodus prisoners to Port de Bouc in southern France, where they had initially embarked. Gruber rushed there from Cyprus. When the prison ships arrived, the prisoners refused to disembark. After eighteen days in which the refugees endured the blistering heat, the British decided to send the Jews back to Germany. The world press was outraged. While hundreds of journalists descended on Port de Bouc, only Gruber was allowed by the British to accompany the Dps back to Germany.

Aboard the prison ship Runnymeade Park, Gruber photographed the refugees defiantly raising a British flag that they overpainted with a swastika. Her photo bacame Life Magazine’s “Picture of the Week.” Crushed together on the sweltering ship making their way back to Germany., the refugees sang “Hatikvah,” the Hebrew anthem of hope. Gruber’s book about the DP’s endurance would later provide Leon Uris with material for his book and screenplay Exodus, which helped turn American public opinion in favor of Israel.

In 1951, Gruber married, gave birth to two children, and suspended her journalistic travels. She wrote for Hadassah Magazine and raised funds for UJA. In the 1970s, she visited Israel, where she wrote a biography, Raquela, that won a National Jewish Book Award. In 1985, at age seventy-four, Gruber traveled to Ethiopia, where she observed the aliyah of that nation’s Jews to Israel.

Gruber’s journey to Ethiopia completed a cycle that had begun with her voyage to Italy in 1944 to bring 1,000 Jewish refugees to Fort Ontario. In 2001, a television network dramatized her life in a two-part broadcast. Today, Ruth Gruber lives in New York City; she stands as a symbol of hope for Jews in danger anywhere in the world.

What’s Happening To British Women?

Posted by addisethiopia / አዲስ ኢትዮጵያ on June 27, 2012

My note: Western women, Feminist activists and the media are still silent and indifferent towards the plight of women in Muslim countries. It’s a puzzle to many that, some even go further by socializing and sympathizing with the enemies of women and humanity not wanting to face the reality, ignoring the obvious signs and warnings, This is a very sad story, but learning the hard way can be the best way.

The Islamist of Egypt are now in power, and their leader already are trumpeting loud barks: “Our Capital Shall Be Jerusalem”

That day is coming:

For I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city shall be taken and the houses plundered and the women raped. Half of the city shall go out into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be cut off from the city.” (Zechariah 14:2)

British female journalist, 21, describes horrific sexual assault in Egypt’s Tahrir Square after election result

A British journalist was brutally sexually assaulted in Cairo’s Tahrir Square as thousands of Egyptians gathered to celebrate the nation’s presidential election results.

Natasha Smith, 21, has detailed how she was violently attacked by a ‘group of animals’ who stripped her naked, scratched and clenched her breasts and ‘forced their fingers inside her’.

She only escaped by donning men’s clothes and a burka and being whisked away to safety by two other men.

Anti-Christian Britain — A Disturbing Trend Emerging

Posted by addisethiopia / አዲስ ኢትዮጵያ on October 12, 2011

Last month a Christian owner of a Café where bible verses were being displayed on television screens was told (quite incorrectly) by police that he was breaking the law.

The fact that British police would consider the displaying of Christian scripture an illegal offence is a concerning indication of the mentality that British society has come to adopt towards all things Christian.

For anyone who follows the British media’s reporting of American politics, the continuous attempt to run down certain American politicians on account of their faith rather than engaging with their politics has now become a rather boring familiarity.

Bush and Palin are crazed evangelical fundamentalists we are forever being told, oh yawn, is this kind of cheap and lazy defamation really what we have to make do with for journalism?

Yet what is far more concerning is what is happening to Christians here in our own country. It is only when one steps back and takes an overview of the litany of cases where Christians have been discriminated against for their religious convictions, that it is possible to appreciate what resembles a sustained assault against the Christian communities in Britain.

Whether it is the case of the nurse who was suspended for offering to pray for a patient, the van driver who faced disciplinary action if he refused to remove a palm cross from his dashboard, the couple who were prohibited from fostering because of their Christian beliefs or the supply teacher who was dismissed when she mentioned praying for a child’s family. The list goes on and on.

Then there are the truly bizarre cases of town councils choosing not to put up their annual display of Christmas decorations or the BBC dropping the use of the terms BC and AD because of their Christian connotations.

It is as if there is a systematic effort to extrapolate British society from its Christian heritage and the values that have for centuries served as a basis for British culture and identity. Those who have been responsible for these moves have often advocated for them on the grounds of creating a more secular and therefore a supposedly more inclusive and pluralistic society for everyone.

Yet it is hard to escape the fact that it has often been the very same people who have promoted secular values when it has come to driving out Christian aspects of public life, who have simultaneously lent their support for the establishment of a parallel religious legal system in the form of Sharia law courts.

Indeed there seems to be a curious disparity here.

How is it that the media has often lambasted Christian individuals who have found themselves dismissed from work or even in court on account of their views on sexuality and yet concurrent to this we hear so relatively little about those hard-line Islamic preachers who have openly preached hate over issues of gender and homosexuality, issues that the liberal press claims to champion.

At our universities these speakers are often provided with an open platform on the grounds of free speech and freedom of religious expression. Those were the kind of arguments that many in the British media were at pains to stress when discussing the ground zero mosque in Manhattan. And while our media obsessed over supporting the building of one mosque in America, it all but ignored the burning down of countless churches elsewhere in the world, not to mention the massacring of Coptic Christians in their Churches in Egypt or the murder of Iraqi Christians in their places of worship there.

Yet this is symptomatic of a growing double standard. We all remember the crowds who turned out for the protest at the Pope rally last year but where were the demonstrations against the then Mayor Ken Livingstone sponsoring the visit to London by the extremist cleric Yusuf al-Qaradawi?

The reality now seems to be that in Britain, Christians are treated by entirely different standards to that thought appropriate for other religious groups. It is as if Christians and their faith have become fair game. But it should not be left to Christians to campaign on this issue alone.

As much as I am not a Christian, it still seems clear that all of us who value the rights and freedoms afforded by a liberal democracy should ensure that there is fair treatment for Christians in Britain.

More than that, we as a society need to recognize that Christianity has played a major and for the most part extremely positive role, in forming our nation’s history and national identity.

Those who cannot bring themselves to understand this will naturally also prove unable to appreciate what it means to actually be British and our society will continue to suffer from the chronic loss of values and any sense of purpose that currently seems to be at the heart of so many of the social challenges that we now face.

The BBC uses “derogatory stereotypes” to portray Christians while marginalising older women, according to the corporation’s own research.

Viewers and staff expressed concerns about “tokenism” and diversity “box-ticking” and warned that positive discrimination was skewing recruitment.

Many people believe the corporation retains a politically Left-wing or “liberal bias” and that religions other than Christianity were sometimes better represented, according to they survey.

The report based on the poll results, obtained by the Daily Mail, concluded: “In terms of religion, there were many who perceived the BBC to be anti-Christian and as such misrepresenting Christianity.”

It added: “Christians are specifically mentioned as being badly treated, with a suggestion that more minority religions are better represented despite Christianity being the most widely observed religion within Britain.”

One respondent was quoted as saying: “As a Christian I find that the BBC’s representation of Christianity is mainly inaccurate, portraying incorrect, often derogatory stereotypes.”

Another added: “Seldom do we find a Christian portrayed in drama, and when we do, it is usually a “weak” person or a “bigot”.”

The BBC generated blasphemy protests from Christian groups in 2005 when it aired Jerry Springer: The Opera, which became one of the most complained about shows in television history.

A BBC spokesman said: “We have strict editorial guidelines on impartiality, including religious perspectives, and Christian programming forms the majority and the cornerstone of our religion and ethical output.”
