Rights Abusers in Western Tigray Zone Face No Accountability for Torture, Forced Expulsions.

Human rights violations have become frequent occurrences in Ethiopia’s Tigray Zone. Despite protests from international groups and activists, it appears that Ethiopian authorities are ignoring these abuses. The situation in Tigray is dire, ranging from arbitrary arrests and detention to torture and extrajudicial killings. This blog post examines the causes of Ethiopian authorities’ failure to uphold citizens’ fundamental rights as well as possible solutions to this urgent problem. As we explore the heartbreaking reality of human rights abuses in Ethiopia’s Tigray Zone, buckle up for an eye-opening read.

Overview of the Situation

A new report from Amnesty International claims that Ethiopian authorities are ignoring violations of human rights in the Tigray region. Since the November 2, 2022, truce agreement, local authorities and Amhara forces in Ethiopia’s northern Tigray region have persisted in forcibly expelling Tigrayans as part of an ethnic cleansing campaign in Western Tigray Zone, Human Rights Watch said today. Involved in serious rights violations in Western Tigray are commanders and officials, which the Ethiopian government should suspend, look into, and suitably prosecute.

Previously a report, which is based on interviews with more than 100 people, details the extrajudicial killings, torture, and arbitrary detentions that Ethiopian security forces have committed in Tigray since November 2020.

Amnesty International’s director for East Africa, Michelle Kagari, stated that the Ethiopian government had consistently violated human rights in Tigray. The magnitude and seriousness of the abuses we have discovered are shocking, and they emphasize the urgent need for an impartial investigation.

Since Tigray’s armed conflict began in November 2020, Amhara security forces and interim authorities have committed war crimes and crimes against humanity by ethnically cleansing Western Tigray’s Tigrayans. Human Rights Watch found that Col. Demeke Zewdu and Belay Ayalew, previously implicated in abuses, continue to arbitrarily detain, torture, and deport Tigrayans.

The Ethiopian government has denied any wrongdoing by security personnel in Tigray.

In a recent release by the Human right Watch it is said by the deputy African director at Human Rights Watch named, Laetitia Bader said “The November truce in northern Ethiopia has not brought about an end to the ethnic cleansing of Tigrayans in Western Tigray Zone,”

And she continued. “If the Ethiopian government is serious about ensuring justice for abuses, then it should stop opposing independent investigations into the atrocities in Western Tigray and hold abusive officials and commanders to account.”

Human Rights Abuses in Western Tigray Zone

Human rights violations are pervasive in Ethiopia’s Western Tigray Zone and frequently go unpunished by the state. Extrajudicial executions, arbitrary detentions and arrests, compelled relocations, and sexual assault are some of these violations.

There have been numerous reports of extrajudicial killings of civilians by Ethiopian security forces in the Western Tigray Zone. At least six people were killed in one incident when security forces opened fire on a crowd of protesters. Another incident involved security personnel shooting and killing a man who was attempting to escape.

In the Western Tigray Zone, arbitrary arrests and detentions are also frequent. In one instance, a man was taken into custody and held for more than two months before any charges were brought against him. In another instance, a woman was arbitrarily detained for three days without being given a reason and without being able to contact her family.

Additionally, forced evictions are occurring in the Western Tigray Zone. In one instance, Ethiopian security forces forcibly removed over 100 families from their homes. Before the eviction, the families received neither a warning nor an explanation, nor were they given access to alternate housing. The eviction caused many of the families to lose everything they owned.

In the Western Tigray Zone, sexual violence is also employed as a tool of repression. In one incident, an Ethiopian soldier raped a woman who was attempting to run away from him. Another incident involved five men dressed in uniforms from the military who gang-raped a woman.

Focus on Government Responsibility for Human Rights Abuses

People have charged the Ethiopian government with ignoring violations of human rights in the Tigray region. Numerous violations, such as arbitrary detentions, torture, and extrajudicial killings, have been documented by Human Rights Watch. The government has also been charged with destroying homes and property and forcibly displacing thousands of people.

Despite these accusations, the government has always denied any wrongdoing regarding human rights violations in Tigray. Officials have asserted that the situation in Tigray is “normal” and that a separate investigation into the allegations is not necessary.

This abdication of accountability is highly troubling. The Ethiopian government has a responsibility to defend its citizens from all kinds of wrongdoing, even when it comes from its security forces. The government is essentially granting its security forces carte blanche to continue abusing their authority by refusing to acknowledge the gravity of the accusations.

The Ethiopian government must answer to the international community for failing to uphold human rights in Tigray. Leaders from around the world should urge Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed to allow an impartial investigation into the allegations of abuse and prosecute those responsible. Additionally, they ought to support civil society organizations that document abuses and work to defend the rights of victims politically and financially.

International Response to the Situation

Human rights violations have been alleged to have taken place by the Ethiopian government in the Tigray region, where a military operation is taking place. The United Nations has demanded that the allegations be the subject of an impartial investigation.

Numerous instances of extrajudicial executions, enforced disappearances, and sexual assault by Ethiopian security forces in the Tigray region have been documented by Human Rights Watch (HRW). Reports of human rights violations have also been sent to the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission.

Michelle Bachelet, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, has demanded an unbiased investigation into the claims of human rights violations in Tigray. She claimed that “credible but troubling information” about regional human rights abuses had been provided to her office.

On Tuesday, the UN Security Council is expected to discuss the situation in Tigray. Abiy Ahmed, the prime minister of Ethiopia, rejected calls for an impartial investigation and asserted that his government is capable of looking into any claims of wrongdoing by its security forces.

The Role of Local Communities in Achieving Justice

Local communities play a crucial role in achieving justice. It would be challenging to hold those accountable for violations of human rights without their assistance. The local population has played a significant role in drawing attention to the atrocities occurring in Tigray.

The Ethiopian government has been ignoring violations of human rights in the Tigray region for many years. These wrongdoings have included torture, arbitrary arrests, and forced evictions. Local communities have long been aware of these abuses, but due to government repression, they have been powerless to take action.

For the years of abuse they have endured, the people of Tigray are now calling for justice. They might finally be able to accomplish it with the assistance of the neighboring communities.

Recommendations

To the federal government of Ethiopia and regional authorities:

• Suspend civilian officials, including interim Amhara officials, and security force members from the Amhara Special Forces and Ethiopian federal forces who are suspected of committing serious abuses in the Western Tigray Zone while investigations are ongoing.

• As necessary, look into serious transgressions of humanitarian and human rights law, including those committed by the three individuals listed in the Human Rights Watch/Amnesty International report from April 2022: Colonel Demeke Zewdu, Commander Dejene Maru, and Belay Ayalew.

• Prosecute everyone accountable for grave violations of human rights in Western Tigray and elsewhere.

• Make it easier for independent human rights investigators, such as the International Commission of Human Rights Experts on Ethiopia, to visit Western Tigray.

• Ensure that Western Tigray and other conflict-affected areas are accessible to human rights monitors, such as the national Ethiopian Human Rights Commission and the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, and that they are required to publicly report their findings regularly.

• Create an independent organization that can plan and oversee safe, voluntary, informed, and respectable returns in consultation with the displaced communities and pertinent UN agencies.

Ahead of the African Union

• Make sure that the AU Monitoring Mission, during its anticipated visit in June, publicly reports on protection issues, rights violations, and humanitarian access in Western Tigray.

To the allies of Ethiopia

• Take into consideration imposing targeted financial and visa sanctions on people connected to grave violations of human rights during the conflict in northern Ethiopia and after the cease-fire.

• Keep an eye on initiatives for justice and accountability in Ethiopia and push for more openness regarding official inquiries and efforts at accountability.

• Based on clear and specific indicators of accountability and justice for victims of serious abuses, evaluate re-engagement with the Ethiopian federal government.

• As long as thorough, impartial investigations into abuses committed during the conflict are needed, support the International Commission of Human Rights Experts on Ethiopia (ICHREE), including by renewing the commission’s mandate at the UN Human Rights Council in September.

• Encourage the development of independent screening processes to prevent the reintegration of federal, state, and local police and military personnel who have engaged in serious abuses.

Conclusion

It is obvious that the Ethiopian government has been ignoring human rights violations in the Tigray region, and this must change immediately. All people are entitled to the fundamental liberties of life, liberty, and personal security. Ethiopia must be held responsible for these violations, and we must demand that they stop right away. Additionally, the international community must use sanctions, if necessary, to put pressure on Ethiopia to uphold the rights of its citizens. Up until that time, it is our responsibility as individuals to speak up for those who are unable to defend themselves and make sure their voices are heard all over the world.

Ethiopia: How a Lucky Village in Tigray Survived The Devastating Genocidal War

❖ ከጥፋት ማምለጥ ከቻሉት ቦታዎች አንዱ ዳባ ሰላማ መንደር ነው። በትግራይ ዶጉአ ተምቤን ወረዳ ውስጥ የሚገኝ መንደሩ ወደ ፭ሺህ / 5,000 የሚጠጉ ሰዎች የሚኖሩት አራት ሰፈሮችን ያቀፈ ነው። እነዚህ ሰፈሮች በአንደኛው የኢትዮጵያ ጥንታዊ ገዳማት ዙሪያ ተበታትነው ይገኛሉ። በገለልተኛ ፣ ከፍ ባለ ፣ ጠፍጣፋ ሸንተረር ላይ የሚገኝ ፣ ማህበረሰቡ በእርሻ ላይ በጣም ጥገኛ ነው።

❖ የዳባ ሰላማ ነዋሪዎች እራሳቸውን እንደ እድለኛ አድርገው ይቆጥራሉ። ሌሎች መንደሮች የወታደራዊ ጥቃቶች ኢላማ ሆነዋል። ከአሥሩ መንደሮች በአራቱ በሰላማዊ ሰዎች ላይ እልቂት ተፈጽሟል። ሴቶች እና ልጃገረዶች በወታደር ሃይሎች የፆታዊ ጥቃት ሰለባ ሆነዋል። ቤቶች፣ ትምህርት ቤቶች እና የእርሻ ምርቶች ሆን ተብሎ ወድመዋል።

❖ በዳባ ሰላማ የማህበረሰቡ የእህል መጋዘኖች እና ሌሎች ንብረቶች አልተዘረፉም፣ አልተቃጠሉም ወይም ሆን ተብሎ በአፈር ውስጥ በመዝለቅ ወይም በመደባለቅ እንደሌሎች ማህበረሰቦች አልተዘረፉም።

❖ ቃለ መጠይቅ የተደረገላቸው ሰዎች ምንም እንኳን መከራ ቢደርስባቸውም ሰዎች እርስ በርሳቸው ይረዳዳሉ ብለዋል። ይህ ከሌሎች የጎበኟቸው መንደሮች ጋር የሚነፃፀር ሲሆን ይህም ትልቁ ቅሬታ ማህበራዊ ትስስር በጣም ደካማ ሆኗል.

❖ “በሌሎች መንደሮች፣ የሕወሓት መሪዎች አንዳንድ ጊዜ እርዳታን ወይም ቁሳቁሶችን ከተራበው ሰው ነጥቀውና ወደራሳቸው ቤተሰብ አባላት አዙረው ይወስዱ ነበር።” ዋይ! ዋይ! ዋይ!

❖ እ.ኤ.አ. በ2020 ዓ.ም መገባደጃ ላይ የጦር ግንባር ወደ ዳባ ሰላማ ሲቃረብ የገበሬው አባወራዎች መኖሪያ ቤታቸውን ጥለው ሄዱ። ከብቶቻቸውን፣ ጠፍጣፋ ዳቦ እና የምግብ አቅርቦታቸውን ዱቄት፣ ቅመማ ቅመም፣ ቡና እና ጨው ጨምሮ ወደ ገደል እና ተራራ ሸሹ።

❖ ገበሬዎቹ ከመሄዳቸው በፊት ጉድጓዶችን በመሬት ውስጥ ቆፍረው የያዙትን የእህል ከረጢት በቤታቸው ውስጥ ደብቀዋል። በወታደሮች ለጭካኔ የተጋለጡ እንደሆኑ የሚታሰቡ አዛውንቶች በመንደሩ ውስጥ ያሉትን ቤቶች የመቆጣጠር ሃላፊነት ወስደዋል ።

❖ በመጨረሻም በክልሉ በተፈጠረው እገዳ ምክንያት ሸቀጦች ለመንደሩ ነዋሪዎች ውድ ነበሩ። በጣም በከፋ ደረጃ የበሬ መሸጫ ዋጋ ፶/50 ኪሎ ግራም እህል መግዛቱ አይቀርም። የገበያውን ዋጋ መግዛት የሚችሉት የተሻለ ኑሮ ያላቸው ነዋሪዎች ብቻ ናቸው።

❖ በመጨረሻ ግን ዳባ ሰላማ በሰው ሰራሽ ርሃብ የተጎዳችው በትግራይ ውስጥ ካሉ መንደሮች ያነሰ በመሆኑ እና በመሆኗ ነው። መንደሩ ጥሩ ኢኮኖሚያዊ ሁኔታ ነበረው፣ ገበሬዎች ማህበራዊ ካፒታል እና ማህበራዊ ትስስርን እንዲጠብቁ ያስችላቸዋል።

💭 እህ ህ ህ! የደበቋቸውና ያልተነገረላቸው ስንት መንደሮች ይኖሩ ይሆን? ስንቱን ንጹሕ አክሱም ኢትዮጵያዊ ካህን፣ ምዕመን፣ ይህ እርኩስ የዳግማዊ ምንሊክ ዲቃላ ትውልድ የኢትዮጵያና ኦርቶዶክስ ተዋሕዶ እምነቷ መሠረት የሆኑትን ብርቅዬ ገዳማትና አብያተ ክርስቲያናት እንደ ዓይን ብሌኑ መጠበቅና መንከባከብ ሲገባው ባዕዳውያኑን የኢትዮጵያና ክርስትና ትሪካዊ ጠላቶች ጋብዘው በድሮንና መትረየስ ደበደቧቸው/አስደበደቧቸው።

እናስታውሳለን፤ ልክ በእነዚህ የቅዱስ ጊዮርጊስ እና አቡነ ተክለ ሐይማኖት ዕለታት የዘር ማጥፋት ጦርነቱን እንደጀመሩት የእርኩሱ ሕወሓት መሪ ደብረ ሲዖል የቪዲዮ መልዕክቶችን እራሳቸው በጋራ ስላቀዱት ጦርነት ሲያስተላለፍ? አዎ! ደጋግሜ የምለው ነው፤ እሱና የጂሃድ አጋሮቹ በጭራሽ በተንቤን በርሃ አልነበሩም፤ የተዘጋጀላቸው ልዩ ቦታ ነው የነበሩት፤ ወይንም በጂቡቲ አሊያ ደግሞ በደቡብ ሱዳንና ሌላ ቦታ ነው የነበሩት። መልዕክቱን ሲያስተላልፉ ሆን ብለው የቤተ ክርስቲያን ቅዳሴ በማይክሮፎኑ እንዲሰማ አደረጉ፤ “ያው በቤተክርሲያንና ገዳም ግቢ ነን ያለነው፣ ኩኩሉሉ! ኑና ፈልጉን!” ለማለት አስበውና አቅደው ነው ቅዳሴውን ሆን ብለው ያሰሙት። በበነገታው ጂኒ ብርሃኑ ጁላ በካሜራ ፊት ቀርቦ፤ “ጁንታው በየገዳማቱና አብያተ ክርስቲያናቱ ስለተደበቀ በድሮን እናርበደብደዋለን!” አለ። ያው አብያተ ክርስቲያናቱንና ገዳማቱን ደብድበው እነ ደብረ ሲዖልን ወደ አዲስ አበባ አመጧቸው። አሁን ጋላ-ኦሮሞዎቹ አማራ ክልል በተባለውም የሚገኙትን ታሪካዊ ገዳማትና ዓብያት ክርስቲያናት በተመሳሳይ መልክ እንደሚጨፈጭፏቸው ገና ጦርነቱ ሳይጀምር ከሦስት ዓመታት በፊት እንጠቁም ዘንድ ተፈቅዶልን ነበር። ታዲያ ይህን አሳዛኝ ክስተት ዛሬ በዓይናችን እያየን በጆሯችን እየሰማን አይደለምን?!

እነዚህ አረመኔዎች! በክፉነታቸው ዓለምን በማስገረም ላይ ይገኛሉ። ዓለም፤ “ያውም ኢትዮጵያውያን!” በማለት ላይ ነው። እኛም፤ “እነዚህ እኮ ኢትዮጵያውያን አይደሉም፤ የኢትዮጵያ/የኤርትራ/የትግራይ/የአማራ/የኦሮሞ ቤተ ክህነት ተብየዎቹ በጭራሽ የአክሱማዊቷ ኢትዮጵያ ቤተ ክህነት አይደሉም። ሁሉም ተፈትነው ፈተናውን ወድቀዋል። እንዲያውም ዛሬ ‘ቤተ ክህነት’ የሚባል የፈሪሳውያን ስብስብ የሚያስፈልግበት ጊዜ አይደለም። ትክከለኛዎቹ የኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ተዋሕዶ ምዕመናን ደግሞ ዛሬ ቤተክህነት አያስፈልጋቸውም፤ ሰባኪ ተብዬ ወስላታ ግብዝንም የሚሰሙበት ጆሮ የላቸውምም። የኢትዮጵያና ቤተክርስቲያኗ ጠላቶች አረመኔ አህዛብ ጋላ-ኦሮሞዎች ናቸው። እግዚአብሔር በአግባቡ ያውቃቸዋል!” በማለት ለዓለም በማሳወቅ ላይ እንገኛለን።

እያየን አይደለም እንዴ፤ ሕዝባችን ከፍተኛ ስቃይና መከራ ላይ በተገኘባቸው ባለፉት ሦስት እና አማስት ዓመታት ዝም ጭጭ ብለው ከአረመኔው የጋላ-ኦሮሞ አገዛዝ ጎን በመሰለፍ ዝም ጭጭ ሲሉ የነበሩት ‘ካህናት’፣ መምህራን፣ ቀሳውስትና ልሂቃን ሁሉ አሁን ከተደበቀቡት ዋሻ ብቅ ብለው የመግለጫና ቃለ መጠይቅ ጋጋታውን በየቀኑ በመስጠት ላይ ይገኛሉ። እስኪ ዲቃላዎቹን እነ ‘ሊቀ ትጉሃን’ ደረጀ፣ ዘወይንዬ፣ ‘ሊቀ ትጉሃን’ ገብረ መስቀል፣ ዶ/ር ፋንታሁን ዋቄ፣ ዶ/ር ዘበነ ለማ፣’አቡነ’ ናትናኤል ወዘተ የተሰኙትን አጭበርባሪ የኦሮሙማ ካድሬዎችን እንታዘባቸው። አክሱም ጽዮን ስትጨፈጨፍ አላነቡም፣ ትንፍሽ አላሉም። አሁን ሁለት ሚሊየን የአክሱማዊቷ ኢትዮጵያ ልጆች ካለቁ በኋላ በድጋሚ ወጥተው እንደለመዱት ሞኙን ተከታያቸውን “በማሳመንና በማደናገር” ነፍሱን ለመስረቅ በመትጋት ላይ ናቸው። ሊቀ ትጉሃን ገብረ መስቀል ተብዬውና ፍዬሉ ዘመድኩን በቀለማ ልክ አክሱም ጽዮን ስትጨፈጨፍ ሰሞን፤ መጽሐፍ ቅዱስን እየጠቀሱ፤ “ከሃጢዓታቸው የተነሳ ነው፣ በሰሜኑ የትግራይ ሰዎች ላይ ይህ ሊፈጸም ግድ ነው…ቅብርጥሴ” እያሉ በቁስል ላይ አህዛባዊ ጥላቻን ሲነዙ ነበር። እስኪ አሁን በአማራ ክልል እየተካሄደ ስላለው የጋላ-ኦሮሞ የወረራ ጭፍጨፋ ተመሳሳይ ነገር ይበሉ?! በጭራሽ አያደርጓትም፤ ወራዶች!

በትናንትናው ዕለት ደግሞ ጋላ-ኦሮሞዎቹና ኦሮማራዎቹ ‘አቡነ’ ናትናኤል የተባሉትን አደገኛ የጋላ-ኦሮሞ ተወካይ፣ ቀደም ሲል ደግሞ አሁን እንደምጠረጥረው ለኦሮትግሬ የሚሠሩትን አባ ሰረቀብርሃን የተሰኙትን ግብዝ ሆን ብለው በተከታታይ ለቃለ መጠይቅ በማቅረብ የተረፈውን በግ አታልለው ለማስለቀስ ሞክረዋል። በተደጋጋሚ ተናግሪያለሁ፤ ሁሉም ‘አሳቢና ተቆርቋሪ መስለው፤ እያሳመኑና እያደናገሩ የሚሰሩት ጋላ ኦሮሞን ለማንገስ ነው።

ወንደም ቴዎድሮስ ጸጋዬ ከእባቦቹ ኦሮሙማዎች ከኤርሚያስ ለገሰ እና ሞገስ ጋር መስራቱን አቁም እልሃለሁ። ሕወሓቶች በተለየየ መንገድ ገንዘብ እየከፈሉህም ከሆነም ገንዘቡን መልሰህ ንሰሐ ግባ። ይህ መንፈሳዊ ውጊያ ነው፤ ዋ! እላለሁ።

❖ በተረፈ ግን፤ የአብርሐም፣ የይስሐቅና የያዕቆብ አምላክ፤ “ለሁሉም ነገር ጊዜ አለው!” ይለናል። አዎ! ይህ ወቅት ግን የሰላም ወቅት አይደለም፤ የእውነት፣ የፍትሕና የበቀል ወቅት እንጂ።

አይይይይ ሕወሓት! አይይይ ሻዕቢያ! አይይይ አማራ! አይይይ ጋላ-ኦሮሞ! እንግዲህ የበቀል ጊዜ ደርሷል፣ የትም አታመልጧትም!አይይ ኢሳያስ አፈቆርኪ/አብዱላ-ሃሰን! አይይ ግራኝ አህመድ አሊ! አይይ ጌታቸው ረዳ፣ ደብረ ሲዖል! አይይይ ጂኒ ጁላ! አይይ አገኘሁ ተሻገር! አይይይ ብርሃኑ ነጋ! አይይይ ጂኒ ጃዋር መሀመድ! እግዚአብሔር አምላክ አንድ በአንድ ይበቀላችኋል! በተለይ ጋላ-ኦሮሞንና አጋሮቹን በአባቶቻችንና በእናቶቻችን ስም እስከ መጨረሻው እንበቀላቸው ዘንድ ግድ ነው! በቃ! የመቶ ሰላሳ ዓመት-ሰቆቃ በቃ! በቃ! በቃ!

The war waged by the Ethiopian Federal Government and Eritrea against the Tigray regional government, which lasted from November 2020 to November 2022, caused massive devastation. Multiple war crimes were reported and there were claims of genocidal intent. A starvation campaign led to the death of at least 300,000 civilian victims.

One of the places that managed to escape the destruction was the Dabba Selama village. Located in Tigray’s Dogu’a Tembien district, the village is composed of four settlements, home to about 5,000 people. These settlements are scattered around one of Ethiopia’s oldest monasteries. Located on an isolated, elevated, flat ridge, the community is highly dependent on agriculture.

We’ve published a book on the Dogu’a Tembien district, based on 25 years of geographical research in the district. In January 2023, after the war had ended, we returned to the district to continue research on the society and environment. We focused on 10 villages in Dogu’a Tembien, one of which is Dabba Selama.

The residents of Dabba Selama consider themselves lucky. Other villages became targets for military attacks. In four of the 10 villages, massacres of civilians occurred. Women and girls were victims of sexual violence perpetrated by military forces. Homes, schools and farm products were deliberately destroyed.

Even though the war front moved past Dabba Selama several times, the community suffered less than the other villages we studied, thanks to their geographical isolation, strong community bonds and agriculturally productive landscape.

Isolated

During our interviews we understood that there was no warfare in the village itself and no direct civilian casualties. Unlike the nine other villages we visited, the interviewees in Dabba Selama did not mention children or elders dying from hunger.

Because the village and monastery are in rugged terrain, some 20km from the nearest road, Ethiopian and Eritrean armies marched through the settlements just once and did not stop in it. The community’s grain stores and other assets weren’t looted, burned, or purposefully ruined by soaking or admixing of soil, as in other communities. The farmers had food even during the critical period. Many of them could afford to buy some (expensive) additional food or medications.

It is also fortunate that the one time the soldiers crossed the village, they didn’t notice the monastery beyond an overhanging cliff and nobody informed them of its existence. Otherwise, they might have invaded it. The armies believed that the Tigray leadership was hiding in caves and other inhospitable locations. They also set out to destroy Tigray’s historical sites.

Strong social bonds

Those interviewed said that, despite the suffering, people helped each other. This contrasts with other villages we visited where the big complaint was that social bonds had become much weaker.

In Dabba Selama, community bonds were strong even before the war, like most remote villages. People typically helped each other with cereals or money, and this continued. The community – including village leaders – shared what they had, so people survived. In other villages, leaders sometimes diverted aid or supplies to their family members.

Food stocks

When the war broke out, the village had some food in stock. The farmlands in Dabba Selama, especially those on the high plain, are relatively productive and farmers had cereals in their granaries.

Not far from the village, at the foot of steep slopes, there are springs. The farmers use these for small-scale irrigation. With its rugged terrain, good rainfall and warm temperatures, the area is also suitable for keeping livestock.

Many farmers from the village traded fruit, selling it at nearby markets when there was no active fighting.

Ability to hide

At the end of 2020, when the war front came close to Dabba Selama, the farm households abandoned their homesteads. They fled to the gorges and mountains with their livestock, flatbread and food supplies, including flour, spices, coffee and salt.

Before leaving, the farmers dug pits in the ground and hid the grain bags they had in their houses. Old men, who are traditionally perceived to be less exposed to brutalities by the military, took the responsibility to supervise the houses in the village. Fortunately the fighting did not come close. In nearby villages, this strategy went wrong and it’s reported that elders were massacred, but not so in Dabba Selama.

Tough times

This is not to say the residents of Dabba Selama did not endure hardship. The community struggled to produce food. Many farmlands in Dabba Selama were not cultivated on time in 2021 and 2022 due to the war. It was difficult to get seeds and fertiliser.

Farmers mainly sowed teff grass (Eragrostis tef) in the absence of other seeds. Compared to other crops, teff gives lower yields per farmland area.

The seed shortage was partly due to hunger. Many households had to eat the grain seeds they had conserved from previous harvests.

Crops were poorly managed because of the war, and the yield of 2022 was worse than any year at peace time, given the total absence of agricultural inputs.

In addition, reforestation areas and natural forests were affected by wood harvesting and charcoal preparation made necessary by poverty. Over the 30 years before the war, a strong effort had been made to regreen Tigray as part of sustainable land management.

Finally, owing to the blockade on the region, commodities were expensive for the villagers. At the worst point, the sale price of an ox would barely purchase 50kg of grain. Only the better-off residents could afford the market prices.

Natural and social capital

Ultimately though, Dabba Selama has suffered less from the human-made starvation than other villages in Tigray due to its isolation and its location. The village had a good economic situation, allowing farmers to maintain their social capital and social bonds.

Their main diabolical purpose; “We are the Kush mentioned in the Bible, we must build a New Nation – making a new religion – an old and a modern Paganism.” For that they must first destroy historical Ethiopia, and gradually snatch Ethiopia and Ethiopianism from Northern Ethiopia’s indigenous Amhara and Tigre Orthodox Christian folks.

But it may be a blessing in disguise for Chancellor Scholz not to be received by the criminal fascist Oromo Abiy Ahmed Ali at the airport. ለምሳሌ ያ ዘምድኩን በቀለ የተባለው ግብዝ ሰው፤ “የአማራ አምላክ” “አማራ እንደ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ የሚሰቃየው ኢትዮጵያን ለማዳን ነው” እያለ ሲቀባጥር ስሰማው፤ እያቅለሸለሸኝ፤ “እንዴ ይህ ፍዬል ምን ያህል ጸያፍና እጅግ የሚያስኮንን ነገር እያስታወከ መሆኑን አይገነዘበውምን? የቀበሩለት ቺፕስ ነው ወይንስ ዋቄዮ-አላህ እንዲህ የሚያስቀባጥረው?!” ለማለት ነበር የተገደድኩት። እግዚዖ! አቤት ድፍረት! አቤት ውድቀት፤ እንደው ይህን ግለሰብ የሚመክረው ወገን የለምን?

😇 የቭላድሚር ቅዱስ ሴራፒዮን († 1275)

የቭላድሚር ቅዱስ ሴራፒዮን እ.አ.አ ከ 1247 እስከ 1274 ባለው ጊዜ ውስጥ የኪየቭ ዋሻዎች ገዳም ሊቀ ጳጳስ ነበሩ ። ከዚያ በኋላ የቭላድሚር ፣ ሱዝዳል እና የኒዝኒ ኖቭጎሮድ ሀገረ ስብከት ሊቀ ጳጳስ ሆነው ተሾሙ ፣ እስከ ቀጣዩ የእረፍታቸው ዓመት ድረስ አስተዳደሩ። በወቅቱ የሀገረ ስብከቱ ግዛት የቭላድሚር ግራንድ ዱቺ እና የጎሮዴት ፣ ኮስትሮማ ፣ ሞስኮ ፣ ፔሬስላቭል ፣ ስታሮዱብ ፣ ሱዝዳል ፣ ኒዝኒ ኖቭጎሮድ እና ዩሪየቭ ርእሰ መስተዳድሮችን ያካተተ ነበር። የቅዱስ ሱራፒዮን አምስት ስብከቶች ተጠብቀው ቆይተዋል፣ አብዛኞቹ እንደ ተዋረዳዊው ዘመን እንደሆነ ይታመናል።

ወንድሞች ሆይ፣ የሚያስፈራው ቀን በድንገት ይመጣል፤ የኃጢአታችን ፅዋ ሞልቶ እጅግ አስፈሪ የሆነ የቅዱሱ የእግዚአብሔር ፍርድ ይጠብቀናልና የእግዚአብሔርን ፍርድ ፍሩ። በበጎ ምግባር ራሳችንን ካላዘጋጀን ራቁታችንን ቀርተንና እና ተቸግን በማይጠፋ እሳት እንቀጣለን።

ወንድሞች ሆይ ፣ እግዚአብሔርን በመፍራት ኑሩ ፣ የዚህ ሕይወት ጊዜ አጭር ነው እና እንደ ጭስ ይጠፋል። ከኃጢአታችን የተነሣ ብዙ መከራ ደረሰብን፥ ትንሽም ሐዘን አይደለም፥ የአሕዛብ ወረራ፥ በሰዎች መካከል መነሣሣት፥ የአብያተ ክርስቲያናት ረብሻ፥ በመኳንንት መካከል አለመረጋጋት፥ ሥጋን ብቻ የሚያስደስቱት አመፀኞቹ ካህናት ለነፍስ ደንታ የሌላቸው ናቸው። የመነኮሳት አለቆችም እንዲሁ። እናም መነኮሳቱ ስለ በዓላት መጨነቅ ይጀምራሉ፣ ግልፍተኛ እና ለፉክክር የተጋለጡ ይሆናሉ፣ እናም ለቅዱሳን አባቶች የማይመች ህይወት ይመራሉ። ሹማምንቱ በባለሥልጣናትና ኃያላን ፊት ይፈራሉ፣ በግል ጥቅማቸው ላይ ተመስርተው ይፈርዳሉ፣ ወላጅ አልባ ልጆችን ያሰናክላሉ፣ ለመበለቶችና ለድሆች አይማልዱም። በምእመናንም ውስጥ፣ አለማመን እና ዝሙት አለ፤ እና እውነትን ትተው ውሸት መፍጠር ይጀምራሉ።

በዚህ ዘመን ግን ማንም የሚፈልግ ቢኖር ይድናል፣ በመንግሥተ ሰማያትም ታላቅ ይባላል። በኖኅ ዘመንም እንዲሁ ነበርና፡ ይበሉም ይጠጡም፣ ያገቡም ያመነዝሩም ነበር ስለዚህ የጥፋት ውኃም መጣ ሁሉንም ስለ በደሉ አጠፋቸው። እንደዚህ ያለ አስፈሪ ክስተት ማየት እንዴት አሳዛኝ ነው! ኖህ ጌታ እንዳዘዘው መርከብን ሲሰራ ከህንድ የመጡ ዝሆኖች እና የፋርስ አንበሶች በጎች እና ፍየሎች ሳይጎዱ አብረው ተጓዙ; የሚሳቡ እንስሳትና አእዋፍ ኖኅ መርከቡን ወደሚሠራበት ቦታ አመሩ። ኖኅም አለቀሰ ሕዝቡንም “ንስሐ ግቡ! ጎርፉ እየመጣባህ ነው” አለው። እናም ይህን ሁሉ ሲያዩ፣ ቃሉን አልሰሙም እናም ትምህርቱን አልሰሙም የጥፋት ውሃ እስኪሸፍናቸው እና አስከፊ ሞት እስኪደርስባቸው ድረስ።

ወንድሞች ሆይ፣ እንፍራ፣ እነሆ፣ የተጻፈው ሁሉ ወደ ፍጻሜው እየመጣ ነው፣ እናም የተተነበዩት ምልክቶች እየፈተጸሙ ነውና። እና ከህይወታችን እና ከእድሜያችን ትንሽ የቀረ ነገር አለ።

ስለዚህ፣ መዳን የሚፈልግ፣ በትህትና፣ በመታቀብ እና በምጽዋት አሁን ይሥራ። ወዳጆች ሆይ፥ ማንም በወንበዴዎች እጅ ቢወድቅ ነፍሱ እንዲተርፍ ንብረቱንም በእነርሱ ፋንታ እንዲወስዱ እንዴት አዝኖ እንደሚለምን ተመልከቱ። ወንድሞች፣ ለመጥፎ ሕይወት ስንል ሁሉንም ነገር መጠቀማችን መጥፎ አይደለም፣ ነገር ግን ለመንፈሳዊ ጥቅማችን ግድ አንሰጥም? ለድሆች ስንሰጥ ለምን እንቆጫለን? ለምን ክፉውን ስራን አንተወውም እና ልባችንን ወደ ንስሃ ሕይወት ለምን አንመልስም?

😇 St. Serapion of Vladimir

St. Serapion of Vladimir (†1275) was archimandrite of the Kiev Caves Monastery from 1247 to 1274. He was then consecrated bishop of the Diocese of Vladimir, Suzdal, and Nizhny Novgorod, which he ruled until his repose the following year. At the time, the territory of the diocese consisted of the Grand Duchy of Vladimir and the principalities of Gorodets, Kostroma, Moscow, Pereslavl, Starodub, Suzdal, Nizhny Novgorod, and Yuriev. Five sermons from St. Serapion have been preserved, most believed to date from his time as a hierarch.

Brethren, fear the terrible and dread judgment of God, for that fearful day will come suddenly. If we don’t prepare ourselves with virtues, then naked and destitute we shall be condemned to unquenchable fire.

O brethren, live in the fear of God, for the time of this life is short and vanishes like smoke; and many calamities befall us for our sins, and no small sorrow: invasions of the heathen, agitation between people, the disorder of churches, unrest between princes, the lawlessness of priests who please only the flesh, taking no care for the soul. And abbots too. And the monks start to care about feasts, they become irascible and prone to rivalry, and they lead a life unbecoming of the Holy Fathers. The hierarchs cower before the powerful, they judge based on personal gain, they offend orphans and don’t intercede for widows and the poor. In the laity, there is unbelief and fornication; and abandoning the truth, they begin to create untruth.

But in such days, if anyone so desires, he will be saved and will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven. For so it was in the days of Noah: They ate, they drank, they married, they fornicated, and the flood came and destroyed everyone for their iniquity. How awful to see such a fearful phenomenon! When Noah was building the ark as the Lord commanded him, then the elephants from India and lions from Persia traveled together with sheep and goats without harming each other; the reptiles and birds headed to where Noah was building the ark. And Noah wept and told the people: “Repent! The flood is coming for you.” And even seeing all this, they didn’t heed his words and didn’t listen to his teachings until the flood waters covered them and they suffered a wretched death. O brethren, let us be afraid, for behold, all that is written is coming to an end and the signs foretold are coming true. And there is already little left of our life and age.

Thus, whoever wants to be saved, let him labor now in humility, abstinence, and alms. For if anyone falls into the hands of robbers, beloved, then see how tenderly he entreats that his life be spared and that they take his property instead. How, brethren, is it not bad that for the sake of a bad life we are divested of everything, but we take no care for our spiritual benefit? Why do we regret giving to the poor? Why don’t we abandon evil deeds and why don’t we incline our hearts towards repentance?

“የተጠመቅኩት፣ በመሰቀል የተሰቀልኩትና የተሰዋኹት ለአመኑኝና ቃሌን ለተቀበሉኝ ሁሉ ለስጋቸው በረከት ለነፍሳቸው ድኽነት ለመስጠት ነው!”

ለእያንዳንዱ ለተጠመቀው ክርስቲያን፣ ስጋው ለተቆረሠለት፣ ደሙ ለፈሰሰለትና እግዚአብሔር ሰው ለሆነለት ክርስቲያን ጠባቂ መላእክት አሉት

ታላቁ ሊቅ ቅዱስ ያሬድ ከፍተኛ የትምህርት ተሰጥዎ ያለው በመሆኑ ትምህርቱን በጣም አስደናቂ በሆነ መንገድ ፈጽሞ ዲያቆን ሆነ ፡፡ ከመምህሩ ከአባ ጌዴዎን በተማረው መሠረት የእብራይስጥና የግሪክ ቋንቋዎችን ደህና አድርጉ ያውቅ ነበር ይባላል ፡፡ ስለዚህ በመጽሐፍ ቅዱስና እንዲሁም በውጭ አገር ቋንቋዎች የአጉቱን የመምህር ጌዴዎንን ሙያ አጠናቆ ቻለ ፡፡ ያሬድ አጉቱ ሲሞት የዐሥራ አራት አመት ልጅ ቢሆንም የአጉቱን ሙያና የትምህርት ወንበር ተረክቦ ማስተማር ጀመረ። በግንቦት ፲፩ (11) ቀን ስንክሳር በተባለው የቅዱሳን የሕይወት ታሪክ መጽሐፍ ውስጥ “ያሬድ በመንፈስ ቅዱስ ተመርቶና ተነሣሥቶ የዜማ ድርሰቶቹን አዘጋጀ” ይላል።

በዚሁ ስንክሳር እንደ ተጻፈው እግዚአብሔር በዚች ምድር እንዲመስገን በፈለገ ጊዜ ያሬድን በራሱ ቋንቋ ሰማያዊ ዜማ እንዲያስተምሩት በአእዋፍ አምሳል ሦስት መላእክትን ከገነት ላከለት ይላል ፥፡ እነሱም ያሬድ ካለበት ሥፍራ አንጻር ባለው አየር ላይ ረበው(አንዣብበው) ጣዕም ያለውና ልብን የሚመስጥ አዲስ ዜማ አሰሙት ፡፡ ያን ጊዜ ያሬድ በጣዕመ ዜማቸው ተመስጦ ቁሞ ሲያዳምጥ ወዲያውኑ ወፎቹ በግዕዝ ቋንቋ “ብጹዕ ወክቡር አንተ ያሬድ ብጽፅት ከርሥ አንተ ጾረተከ ውብጹዓት አጥባት አላ ሐአናከ” ብለው በአንድነት አመስግኑት። ትርጉሙ “የተመሰገንክና የተክበርክ ያሬድ ሆይ ፡ አንተን የተሸከመች ማኅፀን የተመስገነች ናት ፡፡ አንተን ያሳደጉ ጡቶችም የተመሰገኑ ናቸው” ብለው አመሰገኑት፡፡

ከዚያም ሐያ አራቱ ካህናተ ሰማይ ዜማ ወደ ሚዘምሩበት ወጋ ሰማያዊት ኢየሩሳሌም አሳረጉት ፡፡ ቅዱስ ያሬድም በመንበረ ጸባዖት ፊጓ ቁሞ ከሐያ አራቱ ካህናተ ሰማይ በፍጥነት የሰማው ማኀሌት ሁቦ በመንፈስ እግዚአብሔር ተገለጸለትና በልቦናው የተሣለበትን ጰዋትዜ ዜማ በቃሉ ያዜም ጀመር ፡፡ ከዚያም ወደ ቀድሞ ቦታው ወደ አክሱም በተመለሰ ጊዜ ክጥዋቱ በ፫ ሰዓት ወደ አክሱም ቤተ ክርስቲያን ውስጥ ገብቶ በታቦተ ጽዮን አንጻር ቆሞ እጆቹን ወደ ሰማይ ዘርግቶ ፡ በከፍተኛ ድምፅ በአራራይ ዜማ ሃሌ ሉያ ለአብ ፡ ሃሌ ሉያ ለወልድ ፡ ሃሌ ሉያ ወለመንፈስ ቅዱስ ቅዳሜሃ ለጽዮን ሰማየ ሳረረ ወዳግም አርአዮ ለሙሴ ዘክመ ይገብር ግብራ ለደብተራ” ብሉ ሥነፍጥረቱንና ሰማያዊት ጽዮንን አሰመልክቶ ዘመረ ይህችንም ማኅሌት አርያም ብሎ ጠራት ዞ አርያምም ማለት ልዕልና ሰባተኛ ሰማይ መንበረ እግዚአብሔር ማለት ነው ፡፡ ያሬድ በመንፈስ ቅዱስ ኃይል ተመርቶ መላእክት እንደ ከበሮ እንቢልታ፣ ጸናጽል ፣ ማሲንቆና በገና በመሳሰሉት የማኅሌት መሣሪያዎች እየዘመሩ አምላካቸውን እግዚአብሔርን ሊያመሰግኑ ስለስማ እነዚህን መሣሪያዎች በሥራ ላይ እንዲውሉ አደረጋቸው ፡፡

(የሚካኤል ክብረ እነሆ አኹን ታወቀ፤ በትሕናውም ፈጽሞ ላቀ ከፍ ከፍ አለ፤ በአእላፍ ነገደ መላእክት ላይ አለቃን የተባለ መብረቅን የሚጐናፀፍ ርሱ ጽድቅን ይለምናል) ይላል፡–

❖ የ፺፱/99ኙ ነገደ መላእክት አለቃ ከመኾኑ ጋር ይልቁኑ ዮሐንስ በራእዩ በምዕራፍ ፰፥፪ ላይ “በእግዚአብሔርም ፊት የሚቆሙትን ሰባቱን መላእክት አየሁ” ካላቸው፤ ከሰባቱ ሊቃነ መላእክት በመዠመሪያ የሚጠቀሰው ቅዱስ ሚካኤል ነውና ሊቁ ያሬድ፡–

❖ “እስመ እምአፉሁ ይወጽዕ ነጐድጓድ

• ሕብረ ክነፊሁ ያንበለብል ነድ
• እምሊቃነ መላእክት የዐቢ በዐውድ
• ሚካኤል ውእቱ መልአኩ ለወልድ”

(የወልድ አገልጋዩ ሚካኤል ነው፤ በዙሪያው ኹሉ ካሉት ከሊቃነ መላእክት ይበልጣል፤ የክንፉ መልክ ነባልባላዊ እሳትን ያቃጥላል፤ ከአንደበቱ ነጐድጓድ ይወጣልና) ይላል፨

❖ “አዕበዮ ንጉሠ ስብሐት

• ለሚካኤል ሊቀ መላእክት
• ዘይስእል በእንተ ምሕረት
• መልአከ ሥረዊሆሙ ለመላእክት”

(የምስጋና ባለቤት ክርስቶስ ለመላእክት ጭፍሮች አለቃቸው የኾነ ስለ ምሕረት የሚማልድ የመላእክት አለቃ ሚካኤልን ከፍ ከፍ አደረገው) በማለት ይጠቅሰዋል፡፡

❖ የስሙ ትርጓሜንም ስንመለከት ሚካኤል ማለት ቃሉ የዕብራይስጥ ሲኾን ሚ– ማለት “ማን”፤ ካ– “እንደ”፤ ኤል– “አምላክ” ማለት ነውና ሚካኤል ማለት “መኑ ከመ አምላክ” (ማን እንደ አምላክ) ማለት ነው፡፡

❖ የመልክአ ሚካኤል ደራሲም ይኽነን ይዞ

❖ “ሰላም ለዝክረ ስምከ ምስለ ስመ ልዑል ዘተሳተፈ

• ወልደ ያሬድ ሄኖክ በከመ ጸሐፈ”

(የያሬድ ልጅ ሄኖክ እንደጻፈው ከልዑል ስም ጋር ለተባበረ ስም አጠራርኽ ሰላምታ ይገባል) ይለዋል፡፡

😇 ቅዱስ ያሬድም፡–

❖ “መልአከ ፍሥሐ ሚካኤል ስሙ

• ለመላእክት ውእቱ ሊቆሙ
• መልአኮሙ ሥዩሞሙ
• የሐውር ቅድሜሆሙ እንዘ ይመርሆሙ”

(ስሙ ሚካኤል የተባለ የደስታ መልአክ ለነገደ መላእክት አለቃቸው ነው፤ የተሾመላቸው አለቃቸው ርሱ እየመራቸው በፊት በፊታቸው ይኼዳል) ይላል

❖ በብሉይ ኪዳን ለአበው ነቢያት እየተገለጠ፤ ለሐዋርያትም በስብከት አገልግሎታቸው እየተራዳ፤ ለሰማዕታት፣ ለቅዱሳን አበው በተጋድሏቸው እየተገለጠላቸው አስደሳች መልኩን ያዩት ነበር።

❖ ይኽነን የቅዱስ ሚካኤልን ውበት ቅዱስ ያሬድ እንዲኽ ይገልጠዋል፡–

• ❖ “መልአከ ፍሥሐ ዘዐጽፉ መብረቅ
• ሐመልማለ ወርቅ ሚካኤል ሊቅ”

❖ “ሰላም ለአክናፊከ እለ በሰማያት ያንበለብሉ

• ከመ ሠርቀ ፀሓይ ሥነ ጸዳሉ”

(የጸዳሉ ውበት እንደ ፀሓይ አወጣጥ የኾነ በሰማያት ለሚያንበለብሉ ክንፎችኽ ሰላምታ ይገባል) ይለዋል፡፡

❖ ቅዱስ ያሬድ ደግሞ፡–

❖ “ውእቱ ሊቆሙ ወመልአኮሙ ሚካኤል ስሙ

• ዐይኑ ዘርግብ ልብሱ ዘመብረቅ

(ዐይኑ የርግብ (እንደ ርግብ የዋህ፣ ጽሩይ) የኾነ ልብሱ የመብረቅ መጐናጸፊያ የኾነለት የወርቅ ዐመልማሎ ስሙ ሚካኤል የተባለ ርሱ የመላእክት አለቃቸው መሪያቸው ነው) ይላል፡፡

❖ የቅዱስ ሚካኤል ተራዳኢነትና አማላጅነት ቅዱስ ያሬድ እንዲኽ ይገልጠዋል፡–

❖ በ፲ወ፬ቱ ትንብልናከ ዐቢይ ልዕልናከ

• በመንክር ትሕትናከ
• አስተምህር ለነ ሰአልናከ”

💭 FBI Whistleblower Garrett O’Boyle Ends Hearing with Chilling Warning on FBI Tyranny and Abuse

The House Weaponization Committee held a hearing Thursday on Capitol Hill. Three government whistleblowers from the FBI testified before Congress on Thursday morning.

On Wednesday Chris Wray’s FBI revoked the security clearances of three agents who espoused questioned the aggressive tactics by the FBI in targeting Trump supporters , conservatives, and pro-Life Americans, according to a letter the FBI sent the subcommittee on Wednesday.

FBI agents Marcus Allen, Garrett O’Boyle, and Steve Friend had already been suspended for questioning the agency’s handling of the January 6 case and stating their beliefs that the FBI has been weaponized against conservatives.

Democrats on the Committee ran interference for the FBI. The Democrat members were openly hostile to the witnesses and attacking them continuously.

At the end of the Rep. Kelly Armstrong (R-ND) asked witness and FBI whistleblower Garrett O’Boyle if he would advise his colleagues to come forward. Agent O’Boyle offered this dire assessment.

Garrett O’Boyle: I would tell them first to pray about it long and hard. And I would tell them I could take it to Congress for them, or I could put them in touch with Congress, but I would advise them not to do it… The FBI will crush you. This government will crush you and your family if you try to expose the truth about things that they are doing that are wrong.

The FBi took O’Boyle’s income and his security clearance after he spoke out about the FBI targeting parents at school board meetings.

The FBi needs to make a choice. They can be the FBI or the Stasi. But they can’t be both.

🔥 Minnesota mosque in St. Paul, fire believed to be arson, community leaders ‘disgusted’

Authorities believe arson is the cause of a fire at the Oromo American Twhid Islamic Center in St. Paul.

According to authorities, the building at 430 Dale St. N, was not occupied at the time of the fire, which started around 8:45 a.m. No injuries were reported.

Investigators are currently working with the St. Paul Police Department to determine a suspect. State Fire Marshal and ATF officials are also part of the investigation.

“We take this very seriously and will determine who’s responsible for this, and hold them responsible,” said St. Paul Police Department Deputy Chief Josh Lego during a press conference Wednesday morning.

The building was currently undergoing a four-month renovation, which was almost complete at the time of the fire.

“We’ve said it before, and I hate to say it again – we do not tolerate attacks against our community. Communities of faith were attacked today,” said St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter during the press conference. “We all stand together. An attack against one of us is an attack against all of us.”

Carter said increased patrols around St. Paul mosques will occur as a result of this, and other recent mosque fires.

“This feels like a different version of America that should be taking place at a different chapter in history. And yet here we are once again … Whoever committed this crime, you will be caught,” Carter said.

There have been several mosque fires either suspected as arson, or having been charged as such throughout the Twin Cities in recent months. In April, a man was suspected of setting fire to two mosques in South Minneapolis while there were people worshiping inside. He has since been taken into federal custody.

አዎ! ሶማሌዎችና ጋላ–ኦሮሞዎች የአክሱማዊቷ ኢትዮጵያን የአፍሪቃ ቀንድ ግዛቶችን ለመጀመሪያ ጊዜ የረገጡት በ፲፮/16ኛው ክፍለ ዘመን በክርስቶስ ተቃዋሚዎቹ ቱርኮችና በፕሮቴስታንቶች እንዲሁም ካቶሊክ–ኢየሱሳውያን ምኞት፣ ተልዕኮና እርዳታ ነበር። ሶማሌዎችና ጋላ–ኦሮሞዎች በማደጋስካር፣ በታንዛኒያ፣ በቡሩንዲ እና ኬኒያ ያገሬዎችን ነገዶችና ጎሳዎች ከጨፈጨፏቸው በኋላ ነበር ወደ ኢትዮጵያ ግዛቶች ሰተት ብለው እንዲገቡ መሀመዳውያኑ ቱርኮችና ሉተራን ፕሮቴስታንቶች እንዲሁም ካቶሊክ–ኢየሱሳውያን የፈቀዱላቸው። ሶማሌዎቹና ጋላ–ኦሮሞዎቹ ኢትዮጵያም እንደገቡ ከሃያ ስምንት በላይ ጥንታውያን የኢትዮጵያን ነገዶችና ጎሣዎች ከምድረ ገጽ ለማጥፋት በቅተዋል። ዋናውን ተልዕኳቸውን በዚህ በእኛ ዘመን በመተገበር ላይ ይገኛሉ። ያነጣጠረውም በጥንታውያኑን ኦርቶዶክስ ተውሕዶ ክርስቲያኖች ላይ መሆኑን እየየነው ነው።

በኅዳር ጽዮን ቀናት በኦርቶዶክስ ክርስቲያኖች ላይ ጭፍጨፋው እንዲካሄድ የተደረገው በቱርኮች፣ አረቦች፣ አይሁዳውያን እና ፕሮቴስታንቶች ፍላጎትና በሻዕቢያ፣ በሕወሓት፣ በኦነግ/ብልጽግና እና በብአዴን አቀነባባሪነት ነበር። በጭፍጨፋው የተሳተፉትም የኤርትራ ቤን አሚር እና የሶማሌ ታጣቂዎች መሆናቸው የሚነሶታዎቹ ጂሃዳውያን የእነ፣ ጃዋር መሀመድ/Jawar Mohammad ፣ ኢልሃን ኦማር/Ilhan Omar፣ ኪት ኤሊሰን/ Keith Ellisonአካሄድ በግልጽ ጠቁሞን ነበር። ፍኖተ ካርታው፤ ሕወሓቶች ወደ ትግራይ እንዲገቡ፣ ግራኝ አብዮት አህመድ እና ኢሳያስ አፈወርቂ/አብደላ–ሃሰን በአስመራ እንዲገናኙ፣ እነ ኢልሃን ኦማር ወደ አስመራ እንዲጓዙ፣ የኖርዌይ የኖቤል ኮሚቴ የሰላም ሽልማቱን ለግራኝ እንዲሰጥ፣ የአሜሪካው ድምጽ(VOA)በበኦባማ አስተዳደር የአፍሪካ ጉዳዮች ረዳት ዋና ፀሀፊ በነበሩት በእነአምባሳደር ጆኒ ካርሰን በኩል፣ በእነ ጃዋር መሀመድ፣ አሉላ ሰለሞን፣ አቻምየለህ ታምሩ፣ ዶር ደረሰ ጌታቸው በኩል ጋላ–ኦሮሞን በአዲስ አበባ ለማንገስና ተጋሩን ለማራቅ ቅስቀሳዎችን አደረጉ። ሁሉም የሲ.አይ.ኤ ወኪሎች ናቸውን ይህን ስክሪፕትም ሲ.አይ.ኤ ነበር የሰጣቸው።

የሶማሌዎቹን፣ የኢሳያስ ቤን አሚርንና ራሻይዳን፣ የኢዜማን፣ አብንን፣ ፋኖንን፣ የሕወሓትን፣ የብአዴንን እንዲሁም የጋላ–ኦሮሞ ጂሃዳውያኑን ዛሬም ድጋፍ እየሰጧቸው ያሉት መሀመዳውያኑ አረቦች፣ ቱርኮች፣ የማርቲን ሉተር ፕሮቴስታንቶችና የፖፕ ፍራንሲስኮ ካቶሊክ–ኢየሱሳውያን ናቸው።

በትናንትናው ዕለት በጋላ-ኦሮሞዋ: በአቴቴ ብርቱካን ሜድቀሳ የሚመራው የይስሙላው የምርጫ ቦርድ “ሕወሓትን አናውቀውም!” ሲለን፤ እነ ግራኝና ጌታቸው ረዳ + አርከበ እቍባይ ያውጠነጠኑት ሌላ ማለቂያ የሌለው አሰልቺ ድራማ መሆኑን መረዳት አለብን። ለምን? አዎ! ሕወሓት በትግራይ ሕዝብ ዘንድ እየተተፋ ስለመጣ ጽዮናውያን “በእልህ” ከሕወሓት ጋር ተጣብቀው እንዲቀሩ ለማድረግ ሲባል ነው፤ ይህን ሁሉ ሕዝባችንን ጨፍጭፈውና አስጨፍጭፈው እንዲሁም ለረሃብና ስደት አብቅተው ዛሬም ያለሃፍተትና ይሉኝታ ዲያብሎሳዊ ጨዋታቸውን መቀጠል የሚሹት። (Thesis-Antithesis-Synthesis (ተሲስ ፣ ፀረ-ፀረስታ እና ውህደት/መደመር)

ያኔ ወደ ትግራይ የተመለሱት ከሃዲዎቹ ሕወሓቶች በትግራይ ሕዝብ ዘንድ ተቀባይነት ሊያገኙ የቻሉት ከፍተኛ ፀረ-ሕወሓት ቅስቀሳ እንዲደረግና በኋላም በአክሱም ጽዮን ላይ የዘር ማጥፋት ጦርነት እንዲከፈት ከተደረገ በኋላ ነው። የምንሊክ የመጨረሻው ትውልድ የሆኑት ከሃዲዎች በሰሜኑ ሕዝብ ላይ የመዘዙት ካርድ ‘የእልህ ካርድን” ነው። ሕወሓት ከእነ ርዝራዦቹና ሉሲፈር ባንዲራው ባፋጣኝ መወገድ አለባቸው፤ አሊያ የሕዝባችን ስቃይና መከራ ማቆሚያ አይኖረውም።
