💭 Democrats attacked the “Islamophobic” removal of Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) from the House Foreign Affairs Committee, shouting “No!” to the decision they blamed on racism, xenophobia, and “white supremacy,” as they accused Republicans of merely targeting a Muslim woman of color.
On Thursday, the House voted along party lines to remove the Somali-born Democrat from her seat on the Foreign Affairs Committee through a resolution citing her past remarks on Jews and Israel.
Omar closed the debate by noting her Muslim immigrant background, asking, “Is anyone surprised that I am being targeted?”
The vote passed 218 to 211, with all Democrats voting against the resolution and only one Republican, Rep. David Joyce (R-OH), voting “present.”
Democrats could be heard screaming “Nooo!” during the vote.
The move follows Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s vow to do so last year, citing Omar’s “antisemitic” and “anti-American” comments.
n response to the decision, Democrats lost themselves in defending the Minnesota “Squad” member and condemning her removal.
“St. Louis & I rise in support of Rep. Ilhan whose work on the Foreign Affairs Committee has made this institution a better place,” said fellow “Squad” member Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO).
“Rep. Omar has been repeatedly harassed by GOP Members for existing as a Muslim woman, & this resolution is yet another racist, xenophobic attack,” she added.
💭 Some curious facts:
☆ 1. August 2019 – Ilhan Omar and current husband and political consultant Tim Mynett tried to have his ‘still wife’ Dr. Beth Mynett killed. (Ilhan Omar stole my husband) But ‘Margery Magill’was stabbed to death, instead, by the possible Ethiopian agent of Ilhan – 24-year-old Eliyas Aregahegne – because Dr. Beth Mynett and Margery Magill looked exactly alike – both Magill and Mynett are redheads and lived and worked blocks from each other.
D.C. Police Chief said investigators aren’t sure what the apparent motive was in the stabbing. There was no robbery or attempted sexual assault and the suspect did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol when he was arrested.
Dr. Mynett was suing for divorce from her husband Tim who was having an affair with Ilhan Omar.
☆ 2. March 2019 – We were witnessing the pre- amble to the planned genocide against Christians of Northern Ethiopia that was to take place two years later.
Chief of Mission Natalie E. Brown welcomed the first U.S. Congressional delegation in 14 years, led by Congresswoman Karen Bass, chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Africa, Global Health, Global Human Rights, and International Organizations. She was joined by freshmen Congress members Joe Neguse and Ilhan Omar. They met with Eritrean officials, members of the diplomatic community and young Eritreans, as well as toured the sites of Asmara.

😈 Ilhan Omar, the US Congresswoman from Minnesota, has triggered social media storm after posting a video where she claimed to have been arrested by the police while participating in a pro-abortion protest in front of the Supreme Court.
In the clip, Ilhan Omar was seen to be walking with her hands behind her back while faking to be handcuffed by policemen who arrested 34 people.
Social media users debunked the video shared on Ilhan Omar’s official Twitter account that gained over 1.5 million views and over 32.5 likes supporting their allegation that the Somali-origin congresswoman was walking by herself with no cops around.
Furthermore, some people added that Ilhan is lying about being arrested in the video adding that at the end of the video Omar, who placed her hands behind her back claiming to be handcuffed, was seen raising one of her hands and waving it in the air.

💭 New Revelations፡ Somali Troops Committed Atrocities in Tigray as New Alliance Emerged, Survivors Say: https://wp.me/piMJL-7OJ
New revelations about atrocities by Somali soldiers in Ethiopia’s Tigray war are casting a spotlight on an emerging military alliance that has reshaped the Horn of Africa, weakening Western influence in a strategically important region.
The Globe and Mail has obtained eyewitness accounts of massacres by Somali troops embedded with Eritrean forces in Tigray in the early months of the war. The new evidence raises disturbing questions about a covert military alliance between Ethiopia, Eritrea and Somalia that has inflicted death and destruction on the rebellious Tigrayregion in northern Ethiopia.
Some of the priests and monks were people he recognized. Somali soldiers, working alongside Eritrean forces who had captured the village, had targeted churches and killed the clergymen, he said.
“They slaughtered them like chickens,” he told The Globe.
Officially, the three governments have denied any alliance, and Somalia has denied that its troops were deployed in Tigray. But The Globe’s investigation has provided, for the first time, extensive details of civilian killings committed by Somali soldiers allied with Eritrean forces in the region.
Gebretsadik, a 52-year-old farmer from the village of Zebangedena in northwestern Tigray, said the dusty roads of his village were strewn with the bodies of decapitated clergymen in December, 2020, a few weeks after the beginning of the war.
Some of the priests and monks were people he recognized. Somali soldiers, working alongside Eritrean forces who had captured the village, had targeted churches and killed the clergymen, he said.
“They slaughtered them like chickens,” he told The Globe.
The Somali and Eritrean troops stayed in the village until late February, according to Gebretsadik, who often fled to the bushes and mountains around the village to escape attacks during that time.
The Globe talked to dozens of survivors who had witnessed atrocities in six Tigrayan villages where Somali troops had been stationed between early December, 2020 and late February, 2021. The Globe is not publishing their full names or their current locations because their lives could be in danger.
The survivors said the Somali troops were wearing Eritrean military uniforms, but they were clearly identifiable as Somali because of their language and their physical appearance. Unlike the Eritreans, they could not speak any Tigrinya, the language spoken in Tigray and much of Eritrea. The witnesses said they also heard the Eritrean troops referring to them as Somalis.
💭 The origin of Somali & Oromo hatred of Ethiopian Orthodox Christians goes back at least 500 years.
In 1531, Ottoman Turkey Agent Ahmad ibn Ibrahim al-Ghazi invaded Ethiopia, ending Emperor Lebna Dengel’s ability to resist at the Battle of Amba Sel on October 28.
The Imam, known to Somalis as “Axmed gurey” was seen as avenging Ethiopian repression.
The army of Imam Ahmad then marched northward to loot the island monastery of Lake Hayq and the stone churches of Lalibela.
When the Imam entered the province of Tigray, he defeated an Ethiopian army that confronted him there. On reaching Axum, he destroyed the Church of Our Lady Mary of Zion, in which the Ethiopian emperors had for centuries been crowned.
The Ethiopians were forced to ask for help from the Portuguese, who landed at the port of Massawa on 10 February 1541.
The Imam too turned to foreign allies, bringing 2000 musketeers from Arabia, as well as artillery and 900 Ottoman troops.
Iman Ahmad was only finally defeated on 21 February 1543 in when 9,000 Portuguese troops managed to vanquish the 15,000 soldiers under Imam Ahmad, who was killed in the battle.
Paul Henze maintains that the damage inflicted by the Imam’s troops have never been forgotten by Ethiopians.

💭 A leading adviser to the World Health Organization described the unprecedented outbreak of the rare disease monkeypox in developed countries as “a random event” that might be explained by risky sexual behavior at two recent mass events in Europe.
In an interview with The Associated Press, Dr. David Heymann, who formerly headed WHO’s emergencies department, said the leading theory to explain the spread of the disease was sexual transmission among gay and bisexual men at two raves held in Spain and Belgium. Monkeypox has not previously triggered widespread outbreaks beyond Africa, where it is endemic in animals.
“We know monkeypox can spread when there is close contact with the lesions of someone who is infected, and it looks like sexual contact has now amplified that transmission,” said Heymann.
That marks a significant departure from the disease’s typical pattern of spread in central and western Africa, where people are mainly infected by animals like wild rodents and primates and outbreaks have not spilled across borders.
To date, WHO has recorded more than 90 cases of monkeypox in a dozen countries including Britain, Spain, Israel, France, Switzerland, the U.S. and Australia.
Madrid’s senior health official said on Monday that the Spanish capital has recorded 30 confirmed cases so far. Enrique Ruiz Escudero said authorities are investigating possible links between a recent Gay Pride event in the Canary Islands, which drew some 80,000 people, and cases at a Madrid sauna.
Heymann chaired an urgent meeting of WHO’s advisory group on infectious disease threats on Friday to assess the ongoing epidemic and said there was no evidence to suggest that monkeypox might have mutated into a more infectious form.
Monkeypox typically causes fever, chills, rash, and lesions on the face or genitals. It can be spread through close contact with an infected person or their clothing or bedsheets, but sexual transmission has not yet been documented. Most people recover from the disease within several weeks without requiring hospitalization. Vaccines against smallpox, a related disease, are also effective in preventing monkeypox and some antiviral drugs are being developed.

Rare viral infection kills up to one in 10 sufferers and spreads via bodily fluid
(Michael Snyder via ZeroHedge) Monkeypox is a disease that I have been monitoring for quite a while now. It is not supposed to spread easily from human to human, and hopefully that is still true. But human cases are now popping up in the UK, and authorities are not exactly sure how it is spreading. As we have seen with COVID, deadly diseases can mutate in dangerous and unpredictable ways. And as we have also seen, a handful of human cases can ultimately turn into a worldwide pandemic. So we should definitely keep an eye on this alarming new outbreak in the UK, because it could potentially become something much larger.
On Saturday, health authorities in the UK announced that two more human cases of monkeypox have been confirmed…
Two more cases of rare viral monkeypox infection have been diagnosed in England, health authorities said on Saturday, adding that they are not linked to one reported a week ago.
The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) said the latest infections involved people living in the same household and an investigation was underway into how they contracted the virus.
But these two new cases did not have any contact with the first case that was confirmed on May 7th.
So authorities are in a race to figure out how they could have contracted it.
