Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of rock legend Elvis Presley and ex-wife of pop icon Michael Jackson, died on Thursday at the age of 54 following cardiac arrest.

News of Presley’s untimely death was confirmed by her mother, Priscilla, in a statement on Thursday.

“It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us,” Priscilla Presley said. “She was the most passionate strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss. Thank you for the love and prayers. At this time there will be no further comment.”

Lisa Marie Presley’s death comes just two days after she attended the Golden Globe awards where actor Austin Butler won the award for his portrayal of her father in the Baz Luhrmann-directed Elvis.

“I have seen Baz Luhrmann’s movie Elvis twice now, and let me tell you that it is nothing short of spectacular. Absolutely exquisite. Austin Butler channelled and embodied my father’s heart and soul beautifully,” said of the movie back in May.

“In my humble opinion, his performance is unprecedented and FINALLY done accurately and respectfully. (If he doesn’t get an Oscar for this, I will eat my own foot, haha.) You can feel and witness Baz’s pure love, care, and respect for my father throughout this beautiful film, and it is finally something that myself and my children and their children can be proud of forever,” she added.

Lisa Marie Presley suffered cardiac arrest at her Calabasas, California, home on Thursday, and was rushed to a local hospital. Someone reportedly administered epinephrine at the scene, and Presley was able to regain a pulse after CPR was performed.

Presley went into “full arrest” and was rushed to a hospital after EMTs responded to her home, according to TMZ.

A source directly connected to Presley told the outlet that paramedics performed CPR at her house before taking her to the hospital, and that they were able to regain a pulse before she was transported.

It remains unclear as to what prompted Presley’s cardiac arrest.

Lisa Marie Presley was born in 1968 roughly nine months after her father, Elvis, married his wife Priscilla. She was briefly raised in Memphis until she moved to Los Angeles in 1973 following her parents’ divorce.

Elvis died in August 1977, making 9-year-old Lisa Marie the joint heir to his estate alongside grandfather Vernon Presley and great-grandmother Minnie Mae Hood Presley. Following their respective deaths in 1979 and 1980, she became the sole heir and also inherited her father’s Graceland residence,” as noted by People.

Presley began her singing career in the late 90 and went on to release three studio albums — “To Whom It May Concern” (2003), “Now What” (2005) and “Storm & Grace 2012.”

“የእኛ ገንዘብ ባይሆን ኢልሃን ኦማር በመንግስት ገንዘብ እርዳታ በሚነሶታ ቅዳሜና እሁድን የቡና ቤት አሳላፊ የምትሆን ሌላ ጥቁር ሶማሊያዊት ስደተኛ ነበረች” ተናግረዋል ፡፡ ይህ መረጃ የተገኘው ከአል–አረቢያ እንግሊዝኛ ቴሌቪዥን ሲሆን፡ ክሱም በጠበቃ የተረጋገጠ ነው፡፡

በማስረጃው ውስጥ ፣ አላን ቤንደር የአሜሪካ ፖለቲከኞችን እና ጋዜጠኞችን የኳታር ቅጥረኞች/ ንብረት እንዲሆኑ ለመመልመል እንዲረዳቸው መጠየቁን፡ ነገር ግን ኳታር ብዙ የአሜሪካ ፖለቲከኞች እና ጋዜጠኞች ቀድሞውኑ የኳታር ባለሥልጣናት ቅጥረኞች በመሆናቸው ጥያቄውን ውድቅ እንዳደረገው አክሏል። ከተገዙት የአሜሪካ ፖለቲከኞች መካከል በዋነኛነት የምትጠቀሰው ኢልሃን ኦማር ናት። የኳታር ንጉሣውያን ቤተሰቦች ኢልሃን ኦማርን የእኛ “ዘውድ ጌጣጌጥ” ናት ብለው እንደሚጠሯትም ቤንደር አውስቷል፡፡

የአላን ቤንደር ክሶች በዚህ አያበቃም፡፡ በምስክርነቱ መሠረት ፣፡ ኳታር “ኢልሃን ኡመርን የፖለቲካ ፍላጎት እንኳ ከማሳየቷና የመንግሥት ባለሥልጣን ለመሆን ከማሰብዋ በፊት ነበር በኳታር መመልመሏን አህመድ አብዱላ አል–ማስናድ የጠቆመው። ለኳታር እንድትሠራ ካሳመኗት በኋላ ኡመር ከኳታሮች ጋር በመተባበር የገንዘብ ክፍያዎችን በየጊዜው ትቀበላለች፡፡

ኢልሃን ኦማር ሥልጣን ላይ ከወጣች በኋላ በተወካዮች ምክር ቤት ያላትን ቦታ ተጠቅማ ለኳታርና፡ በኳታር በኩል ወደ ኢራን ሚስጥራዊ መረጃዎችን እንደምትልክም በተጨማሪ ተገልጧል፡፡

ይህ ትልቅ ቅሌት የያዘ ዜና ነው፤ ነገር ግን ዓለምን የሚያስተዳድረው የጥልቁ የሉሲፈራውያን መንግስት የዜና ማሰራጫዎች ከፕሬዚደንት ትራምፕ ጋር ስለማይያዝ ይህን አስመልክቶ ትንፍሽ እንኳን አይሉም፤ ሴትዮዋንም ለጊዜው ምንም አያደርጓትም።

እንደሚታወቀው ኢልሃን ኦማር ገና እንደተመረጠች የመጀመሪያውን የውጭ ሃገር ጉዞ ያደረገችው ወደ አስመራ ነበር። እዚያም ከግራኝ አብዮት አህመድና ከጂኒ ጃዋር መሀመድ ጋር ተገናኝታለች። ከሳምንት በፊት ጂኒ ጃዋር ወደ ሚነሶታ ከማምራቱ በፊት በመጀመሪያ ወደ ኳታር ነበር የተጓዘው። አልጀዚራ ቴሌቪዥንም ይህን ውርንጭላ በየጊዜው የሚጋብዘውና ኦሮሞን የሚደግፉ ዜናዎችንና ቅስቀሳዎችን የሚያካሂደው ከሳውዲ ቀጥሎ የዋሃቢያ እስላም መናኽሪያ የሆነችው ኳታር ከባድ የሆነ ፀረ–ኢትዮጵያ ተልዕኮ ስላላት ነው።

ትግሬ ነው በሚል (በአባቱ ጎንደሬ ነው) ግብዝነት ብቻ ብዙዎች ገና ሊረዱት ያልፈልጉት/ያልተረዱትና ከአብዮት አህመድ በጣም በተሻለ መልክ ሃገር–ወዳድ የሆነው መለስ ዜናዊ፣ ቀደም ሲል ብዙ ስህተቶች የሰራ ጠቅላይ ሚንስትር ቢሆንም፤ ልምዱን ስልወሰደና የአረቦችን ጠላትነት አባቶቹ ስለጠቆሙት ከኳታር ጋር የዲፕሎማቲክ ግኑኝነት ማቋረጡ የሚታወቅ ነው። ከአረብ ጋር ግኑኝነትን የሚያቋርጥ መሪ የኢትዮጵያ መሪ ነው እላለሁ። ኢትዮጵያ ታላቅና ኃያል የነበረችው በዙሪያው ካሉት የአረብ ሃገራት ጋር ግኑኝነት በማታደርግባቸው ዘመናት ነበር። መለስ ከአረፈ በኋላ ጅሉ ኃይለማርያም ደሳለኝ ነበር በእነ ሲ.አይ.ኤ ከምትመራው ኳታር ጋር ዲፕሎማቲክ ግኑኝነቱን እንደገና የጀመረው። የመጀመሪያውን ኢንተርቪውም ለአልጀዚራ ቴሌቪዥን ነበር ለመስጠት የቸኮለው።

💭 Netflix removes Hasan Minhaj comedy episode after Saudi demand

Netflix has removed from its streaming service in Saudi Arabia an episode of a comedy show critical of the kingdom.

The second episode of Patriot Act With Hasan Minhaj was removed following a legal demand, which reportedly said it violated a Saudi anti-cybercrime law.

It features Minhaj mocking the actions of Saudi officials following the murder of the journalist Jamal Khashoggi and condemning the crown prince’s policies.

Netflix said it backed artistic freedom but had to “comply with local law”.

What did Hasan Minhaj say?

“Just a few months ago, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, also known as ‘MBS’, was hailed as the reformer the Arab World needed. But the revelations about Khashoggi’s killing have shattered that image,” said Minhaj in the episode of Patriot Act removed by Netflix.

Since being named second-in-line to the throne in June 2017, Prince Mohammed has introduced a raft of headline-grabbing reforms, such as lifting the ban on women being allowed to drive and seeking to shift its economy away from oil.

But, he has also been criticised for escalating a crackdown on dissenting voices, among them a number of women’s rights activists, pursuing a war in neighbouring Yemen that has caused a humanitarian catastrophe, and starting a diplomatic dispute with Qatar that has divided the Gulf Co-operation Council.

At the end of the episode, Minhaj said: “I am genuinely rooting for change in Saudi Arabia. I am rooting for the people of Saudi Arabia. There are people in Saudi Arabia fighting for true reform, but MBS is not one of them.”

“And to those who continue to work with him, just know that with every deal you close you are simply helping entrench an absolute monarch under the guise of progress, because ultimately MBS is not modernizing Saudi Arabia. The only thing he is modernizing is Saudi dictatorship.”
