ኃውልቱ በተደጋጋሚ የመብረቅ ጥቃት ይደርስበታል፤ ነገር ግን ፍንክች አይልም።

This means that in the more than 80 years of its existence, it has been struck by thousands of lightning strikes. It is important to note that the Christ the Redeemer is built with materials resistant to electricity, so it has not suffered serious damage despite being repeatedly struck by lightning.

In 2014 The 125-foot-tall figure that presides over the Brazilian city had its right thumb damaged when a lightning bolt struck its outstretched.
