💭 EU top diplomat Josep Borrell criticised EU member states on Monday (13 December) for failing to agree on sanctions against those suspected of war crimes in Ethiopia’s civil war, expressing frustration over Europe’s failure to give an effective policy response to “large scale human rights violations” there.

The EU’s response to the civil war in Ethiopia was “one of my biggest frustrations” of the year, said Borrell, the EU’s foreign affairs high representative. He said the EU had not been able to stop “mass rapes using sexual violence as a war aim, killings and concentration camps based on ethnic belonging,” pointing to the lack of unanimity among EU governments.

It is understood that Germany is one of the leading countries reluctant to impose sanctions, though Borrell told reporters that “many countries felt that it (sanctions) wasn’t an adequate solution.”

While the Biden administration in the United States has imposed sanctions under its human rights Magnitsky Act, the EU has not followed suit beyond freezing $107 million in budget support to Ethiopia.

Last month, EU officials told EURACTIV that sanctions were being discussed within the context of the bloc’s Human Rights Sanctions regime, but little progress has been made.

Während sie gerade in einer Live-Schalte den stellvertretenden Unionsfraktionsvorsitzenden Sepp Müller (33) interviewte, stockte sie plötzlich und konnte ihren Satz nicht mehr zu Ende formulieren.

Die Regie reagierte prompt und schaltete zu Pfeffers Moderationskollegen Daniel Schüler (31) am Nachrichtenpult, während man im Hintergrund noch den Satz hörte, dass man lieber „abbrechen“ sollte.

Schüler gab dann in den 8-Uhr-Nachrichten Entwarnung und versicherte, dass es Pfeffer „schon wieder besser“ gehe. Später meldete sich ntv-Chefredakteurin Sonja Schwetje bei Twitter zu Wort. „Nach einem Schwächeanfall on air geht es unserer Reporterin wieder besser. Sie wird medizinisch versorgt.“

COVID Policy – ‘Biden Wants To Inoculate As Many As Possible, Including Annual Shots’

Mr. Cole revealed in hidden footage obtained by Project Veritas that the Biden administration wants to vaccinate as many individuals as possible and wants everyone to take annual COVID-19 injections.

The agency’s executive officer says the reason the policy hasn’t been announced yet is to not “rile everyone up.”

The hidden footage includes soundbites from Cole about the financial incentives pharmaceutical companies like Pfizer have to get the vaccine approved for annual usage.

“It’ll be a recurring fountain of revenue. It might not be that much initially, but it’ll recurring — if they can — if they can get every person required at an annual vaccine, that is a recurring return of money going into their company.”

Cole continues by discussing the large sums of money food companies, drug companies, and vaccine companies pay to the FDA to regulate their products.

According to Cole, the FDA receives hundreds of millions of dollars per year with this process.

The FDA officer also expects that schools will eventually mandate the COVID-19 injections for attendance.

Cole, who claims that his role with the FDA is to ensure the agency uses a framework of safety, security, and effectiveness as a part of its preparedness and response protocol, specifically cited concerns over “long term effects, especially with someone younger.”

Mr. Christopher Cole is an Executive Officer heading up the agency’s Countermeasures Initiatives, which plays a critical role in ensuring that drugs, vaccines, and other measures to counter infectious diseases and viruses are safe.
