የግዮን ሆቴል መደርመሱን ስሰማ ወዲያው የታየኝ የኢሬቻ ጋኔን ነው

ይህ ጋኔን ከመስቀል አደባባይ እስከ ቪርጂኒያ እና ሜነሶታ ድረስ ተበትኖ ይታያል። ባለፈው ሳምንት ላይ በቨርጂኒያ ግዛት የኢሬቻ ዛፍ መደርመሱን እናስታውሳለን።

ፀረ–ኢትዮጵያ የክርስቶስ ተቃዋሚው ኢሬቻ በዓል በመስቀል አደባባይ፣ በቅዱስ እስጢፋኖስ ቤተክርስቲያን እና በግዮን(አባይ)ሆቴል ዙሪያ በምትገኘው ትንሽ ወንዝ ነበር የመቅሰፍት ችግኝ ተከላውን የጀመረው። ለበዓሉ ሲባል ወንዙ ዙሪያውን ተከልሎ ነበር።

ታዲያ አሁን ቪዲዮው ላይ የሚታየው የግዮን ሆቴል አዳራሽ መደርመሱ ሊገርመን ይችላልን፤ እነዚህ ከሃዲ የሰይጣን ልጆች አገርንስ እየደረመሷት አይደለምን?

የፕሬዚደንት ትራምፕ ልጅ ባል ያሬድ ኩሽነር አዲስ አበባ ገብቷል። ሸለመጥማጣው ሰውዬ በግዮን/ አባይ ጉዳይ ግብጽን ወክሎ እንደሚከራከር አያጠራጥርም።

ባለፈው ዓመት ሚስቱ ኢትዮጵያን ስትጎበኝ ይህን ጽፌ ነበር፦ “በዓለማችን ላይ ከሚታዩት የክርስቶስ ተቃዋሚ ግለሰቦች መካከል ይመደባል ብዬ የማምነው ሰው የኢቫንካ ትራምፕ ባለቤት ያሬድ ኩሽነር ነው። የሚገርም ነው፡ የዚህ ቀፋፊ ሰው ቢሮ የሚገኘው በ ኒው ዮርክ ከተማ “666 Fifth Avenue/ 5ኛው ጎዳና” ላይ ነው።”

ከሁለት ሳምንታት በፊት ደግሞ የኒው ዮርኩን ግድያ በማስመልከት ይህን ጽሁፍ አቅርቤ ነበር፦

“በጣም ይረብሻል፡ ያሳዝናል! ክፉ ግዜ ነው! የሕፃኗ አሟማት እጅግ በጣም ይሰቀጥጣል። ኤይይይ..… አገዳደሉ ኦሮሚያ በተባለው የተረገመ ክልል ሰሞኑን ከተፈጸሙት ጭካኔ የተሞላባቸው ድርጊቶች ጋር በጣም ይመሳሰላል።

ወደ ኒው ዮርክ እርኩስ መንፈስ እየገባ እንደሆነ በእነዚህ ቪዲዮውች በኩል ባለፉት ቀናት ለመጠቆም ሞከሬ ነበር። ፕሬዚደንት ትራምፕ በተወለዱባት ከተማ ይህ አሰቃቂ ድርጊት ተፈጸመ። አሁን በዋሽንግተን የሚኖሩት ፕሬዚደንቱ ኒው ዮርክ ከተማን እንደሚለቁ ሰሞኑን አስታውቀው ነበር። የአቶ ዮናታን ቤተሰብ በሞቱበት ዕለት ፕሬዚደንት ትራምፕ ከገዳይ አብይ መንግስት ልዑካን ጋር በአባይ ጉዳይ ላይ ሲወያዩ ነበር። የአቶ ዮናታን ሲት ልጅ ስም፦ “አባይነሽ”። ኤይይይ!

The Church Forests of Ethiopia

On the Ethiopian highlands, church grounds have become accidental time capsules of biodiversity.

I wrestled with judging the Ethiopian Church for holding its beliefs imperfectly, like all things human. Why not save more of the forest than just a small patch around the church? Where was the church when 97 percent of Ethiopia’s primary forest was destroyed?

For me, these little blips of green forest rising out of vast swaths of deforested brown earth represent hope. They are a powerful intersection of faith and science doing some good in the world.

E.O. Wilson, in his book “Half-Earth,” declared the church forests of Ethiopia “one of the best places in the biosphere.” They are proof that when faith and science make common cause on ecological issues, it results in a model that bears repeating. We have the blueprint of life held in these tiny circles of faith, and that’s something to rejoice over and protect and expand with every resource we can muster.
