An ISISplot to feed poisoned ice cream to kindergarten children before detonating a bomb in their nursery car park has been revealed in Germany.
The gruesome plan came to light during hearings of two teenage Islamic State fanatics who blew up a Sikh temple in the industrial city of Essen during wedding celebrations.
Mohammed O, 17, one of the temple bombers who carried out the assault in April which wounded four people, planned to sell the toxic ices before blowing himself up in the midst of the children.
A second teen, Yusuf T, 17, was the leader of the so-called Temple bomber group.
The young Salafists first formed their murder gang on Whatsapp and built bombs from ingredients ordered from online retailer Amazon.
When they were captured after the bombing, a letter that Mohammed O. had written to Yusuf T. while he was in detention was intercepted by guards. In it he posed the question: ‘May one kill targeted children?’
The letter went on to say: ‘I work as an ice cream man with my ice cream van and sell to many children. May I, following Sharia law, use arsenic or warfarin, or better still strychnine, to kill children?’
Then the final question was put to his leader: ‘Can I make Istis hadi Amaliya (suicide) in the kindergarten too?’
He also questioned, in the two page letter written on A4 paper, if it might also be possible to crash the van into the kindergarten. And further he asked if it was permissible for him to ‘rape the girls of the enemies of the Prophet Muhammad.’
He urged Yusuf T. secretly to obtain a mobile phone so that he could make phone calls to plot the outrage. At the trial in Essen, investigators said that phone numbers of Isis sympathisers were later found on a device owned by T.

Thugs Burn Traditional Christmas Figure To The Ground In Sweden
THUGS have hit out against one of Sweden’s most cherished Christmas traditions, as they burned a 13-metre-tall Yule goat to the ground.
For 50 years a 3.6 tonne straw goat has been built in Gävle, central Sweden, to celebrate the beginning of the festive season as it is believed to be a well-wishing spirit that watches over the Christmas preparations.
However, this year the festive celebrations have already taken a hit, as the Christmas icon was burned to the ground within 24 hours of being unveiled.
By 11pm on Sunday, the beloved goat was in flames on Gävle’s Slottstorget square, to the great disappointment of locals, most of whom did not get to see this year’s incarnation before it was destroyed by the fire.
The event’s organisers said the thugs managed to get past on-site security when one of the guards was on a toilet break.
Maria Wallberg, a spokesperson for the goat’s organisers, said: “There will be a great, great sadness for Gävle residents, the Gävle goat and for all of its fans over the world.”
The traditional goat is so popular in the Scandinavian country it is shown on live television and this year more than 2.3 million Swedish Kronor was spent on creating it.
2016 marked the 50-year celebration of the straw goat being erected in the town square and a number of security measures were taken to protect it, in the hope it would last until the end of Christmas as it is not the first time it has been targeted by vandals.
However, the measures were all in vein and police have now launched a preliminary investigation for inflicting gross damage and are looking for the perpetrators.

What more evidence is needed to prove that Islam is at war with Christianity than its well documented hatred for the quintessential symbol of Christianity: the cross?
This recently occurred to me as I was surfing Arabic-language videos and websites discussing Christianity – only to encounter one hostile video, fatwa, or sermon after another against the cross.
Only one seemingly spoke well of the cross – though for a reason that again demonstrated Islam’s hostility for Christians. According to Al Azhar professor Dr. Salim Abdul Galil, Muslims can be tolerant of the cross – they can even wear and pray before it – but only when in need of deceiving Christians, whom the learned cleric portrayed as the natural enemies of Muslims.
The most telling talk show featured Sheikh Abdul Aziz al-Tarifi, a Saudi expert on Islamic law. Asked about Islam’s ruling on whether any person – in this case, Christians – is permitted to wear or pray before the cross, the learned Muslim explained: “Under no circumstances is a human permitted to wear the cross” nor “is anyone permitted to pray to the cross.” The reason? “Because the prophet – peace and blessings on him – commanded the breaking of it [the cross].”
Indeed, as with all of Islam’s hostilities, animosity for the cross begins with Muhammad. He “had such a repugnance to the form of the cross that he broke everything brought into his house with its figure upon it,” he once ordered someone wearing a cross to “take off that piece of idolatry,” and he claimed that at the End Times, Isa (Islam’s version of Jesus) will make it a point to “break the cross” as proof that Christians had gotten it wrong all along.
The reason for this animosity is that the cross symbolizes that which Islam was developed in direct contradistinction to. As Sidney Griffith, author of The Church in the Shadow of the Mosque, put it, “[t]he cross and the icons publicly declared those very points of Christian faith which the Koran, in the Muslim view, explicitly denied: that Christ was the Son of God and that he died on the cross.” Thus, “the Christian practice of venerating the cross and the icons of Christ and the saints often aroused the disdain of Muslims,” so that there was an ongoing “campaign to erase the public symbols of Christianity [in formerly Christian lands such as Egypt and Syria], especially the previously ubiquitous sign of the cross.”
According to the Conditions of Omar – a medieval text that lays out the many humiliating stipulations conquered Christians must embrace to preserve their lives and that Islamic history attributes to the second “righteous caliph,” Omar al-Khattab – Christians are “[n]ot to display a cross [on churches]” and “[n]ot to produce a cross or [Christian] book in the markets of the Muslims.”
During the aforementioned talk show, the Saudi cleric also explained that if it is too difficult to break the cross – for instance, a large concrete statue – Muslims should at least try to disfigure one of its four arms “so that it no longer resembles a cross.”
We actually have much historic and numismatic evidence of this approach going back to the century of Islam’s founding. Almost all of the gold coins that belonged to the Christian Byzantine Empire had the image of the cross on one side. After the Byzantine treasury was seized during the Muslim conquests, the caliphate ordered that one or two arms of the cross be effaced so that the image no longer resembled a cross.
As for the smaller crosses that Muslims could break, again, we have testimonies from the very earliest invasions into Christian Syria of Muslims systematically breaking every crucifix they encountered – to the point that Christians were convinced that the invaders were demons, if not worse. In the words of Anastasius of Sinai, who lived during the earliest invasions, “[n]ote well that the demons name the Saracens [Arabs/Muslims] as their companions. At it is with reason. The latter are perhaps even worse than the demons,” for whereas “the demons are frequently much afraid of the mysteries of Christ,” among which he mentions crosses and churches, “these demons of flesh trample all that under their feet, mock it, set fire to it, destroy it[.]“
Sophronius, the patriarch of Jerusalem when its walls were being sieged by Muslims in 638, lamented:
Why are the troops of the Saracens attacking us? Why has there been so much destruction and plunder? Why are there incessant outpourings of human blood? Why are the birds of the sky devouring human bodies? Why have churches been pulled down? Why is the cross mocked? Why is Christ … blasphemed by pagan mouths?
Even Saladin (d. 1193) – regularly touted in the West for his “magnanimity” – ordered “the removal of every cross from atop the dome of every church in the provinces of Egypt,” according to The History of the Patriarchate of the Egyptian Church.
In light of the above, it should come as no surprise that the Islamic State (“ISIS”) also exhibits hate for the crucifix. In its communiqués to the West, hostile reference to the cross is often made: “We will conquer your Rome, break your crosses, and enslave your women, by the permission of Allah[.] … [We will cast] fear into the hearts of the cross-worshipers[.]”
Similarly, in post-“Arab Spring” Libya, now another ISIS stronghold, a video of a Muslim mob attacking a commonwealth cemetery near Benghazi appeared on the internet. As the Muslims kicked down and destroyed headstones with crosses on them, the man videotaping them urged them to “break the cross of the dogs!” while he and others cried “Allahu akbar!” Toward the end of the video, the mob congregated around the huge Cross of Sacrifice, the cemetery’s cenotaph monument, and started to hammer at it, to more cries of “Allahu akbar.” Other Christian cemeteries in post-“Arab Spring” Libya have suffered similarly.
Most recently, pictures emerged from a Christian cemetery in Iraq that was vandalized by ISIS. Broken and scattered crosses appear. In one picture, the jihadis broke into a coffin, snapped off the head of the withered corpse, and threw the crucifixes surrounding it on the ground.
Lest all this still seem aberrant – limited to some obscure saying of Muhammad, or “ancient history,” or the doings of “radical” groups like ISIS – below is a very partial list of examples of how the crucifix throws “everyday” Muslims into savage paroxysms:
Pakistan: When a Muslim man saw Julie Aftab, a Christian woman, wearing a cross around her neck, he attacked her, forced battery acid down her throat, and splashed it on her face – permanently damaging her esophagus, blinding her in one eye, and causing her to lose both eyelids and most of her teeth.
Egypt: A young Coptic Christian woman named Mary was mauled to death when her cross identified her as a Christian to Muslim Brotherhood rioters. Before her, 17-year-old Ayman, a Coptic student, was strangled and beaten to death by his Muslim teacher and some fellow students for refusing to obey the teacher’s orders to remove his cross.
Even in Muslim nations deemed “moderate,” violence provoked by the cross is not uncommon.
Maldives: Authorities had to rescue a female Christian teacher after Muslim “parents threatened to tie and drag her off of the island” for “preaching Christianity.” Her crime was to draw a compass – which was mistakenly taken for a cross – as part of a geography lesson in class.
As Islam’s presence continues to grow in Europe, it should come as no surprise that attacks on crosses are also on the rise:
Italy:
A Moroccan migrant invaded an old church in Venice and attacked its large, 300-year-old cross, breaking off one of its arms while shouting, “All that is in a church is false!”
A Muslim boy of African origin picked on, insulted, and eventually beat a 12-year-old Catholic girl during school because she was wearing a crucifix.
After yet another crucifix was destroyed in close proximity to a populated mosque, the area’s mayor did not mince words concerning the identity of the culprit(s): “Before we put a show of unity with Muslims, let’s have them begin by respecting our civilization and our culture.”
France:
A Muslim man committed major acts of vandalism at two churches. Along with twisting a massive bronze cross, he overturned and broke two altars, the candelabras, and lecterns; destroyed statues; tore down a tabernacle, smashed in a sacristy door; and even broke some stained glass windows. Christian crosses and gravestones in a cemetery were damaged and desecrated by a Muslim. After being apprehended, he was described as follows: “The man repeats Muslim prayers over and over, he drools and cannot be communicated with: his condition has been declared incompatible with preliminary detention.” He was hospitalized as “mentally unbalanced.” (See his handiwork.)
Germany:
A Muslim man who checked himself into a hospital for treatment went into a sudden frenzy because there were “too many crosses on the wall.” He called the nurse a “bitch” and “fascist” and became physically aggressive.
Of course, Islamic hostility for the cross is only encouraged by Europeans themselves, who happily comply with Islam’s “sensitivities.”
Spain: Real Madrid, a professional football (soccer), team stripped the traditional Christian cross from its club crest as part of a deal with the National Bank of Abu Dhabi – “so as not to offend Muslim sensibilities in the United Arab Emirates.”
United Kingdom: Offensive crucifixes are being removed from prisons in order not to offend Muslim inmates (who are further provided with food baths for Islamic rituals).
Germans in Jerusalem: At the request of their Muslim hosts, German bishops are now removing their pectoral crosses when visiting the Temple Mount. Bishop Heinrich Bedford-Strohm (Munich) rationalized his capitulation by saying, “We acted out of respect for the hosts,” insisting that his decision is “not at all a denial of the cross, but a response to the wish of the hosts.”
Such is the history and continuity of Islam’s hate for the cross – that symbol that represents the heart of the Christian faith, including the death and resurrection of Christ, which Islam strongly denounces as a lie. Islam’s war on the cross began with Muhammad, was carried out by earliest caliphs and jihadis, and continues to this day by the new “caliphate” and many “everyday” Muslims.
Meanwhile, far from calling Islam out, Western liberal Christians continue calling for more Muslim refugees and carrying signs proclaiming, “I’m Christian and I love the Qur’an.”
The devil flees from Jesus on the cross so if you do not already have one, get a Crucifix and have it blessed by a priest, and place it in a appropriate and worthy place in your home–and most especially, pray to Jesus before it each day. Also, if you do not have one, get a crucifix on a necklace, get it blessed and wear it with devotion and prayer.

“Sweet Aromas” And “electromagnetic Disturbances” Surprised The Observers Of This Historic Event
On October 26, 27 and 28, 2016, the marble slab that covers the tomb of Christ was removed. As the group of scientists and religious authorities had access to the place, rumors immediately began to run around. Some rumors claimed it was possible to perceive a “sweet aroma” emanating from the tomb, reminiscent of the olfactory manifestations commonly associated with both Marian and saintly apparitions. Secondly, it was alleged that some of the measuring instruments used by scientists were altered by electromagnetic disturbances. As soon as they were placed vertically on the stone in which Christ’s body rested, the devices either malfunctioned or ceased to work at all.
Marie-Armelle Beaulieu, editor-in-chief of Terre Sainte Magazine, was given permission to visit the site, and remains reluctant about the rumors associated with the alleged “sweet scent.” In addition to stating that a smell is easily suggestible, she also noted she did not perceive any particular perfume at all. On the other hand, during the last partial opening, made by the architect Nikolaos Komnenos in 1809, the chronicler also made mention of a “sweet aroma.” People who are interested in the tomb of the Holy Sepulcher are well acquainted with this text, so it is possible that they might respond to unconscious suggestion about having perceived such a smell.
Electromagnetic Disturbances
But the journalist is much less hesitant regarding the electromagnetic disturbances recorded by the scientists’ instruments. The phenomenon was confirmed by one of the scientists authorized to access the tomb. Later, one of the heads of the building and construction team, Antonia Moropoulou, indicated that it is really hard to imagine that someone would be willing to put in danger his or her reputation just because of a “publicity stunt.” Moreover, the journalist testifies to the scientists’ surprise during the opening of the slab: they hoped that the grave would be much lower than it was. Their conclusion: previously performed analyses with the instruments seemed to have been distorted by an electromagnetic disturbance.
It seems, lacking any other explanatory element, the tomb of Christ indeed affected instruments sensitive to electromagnetic disturbances. However, possible explanations on the motives for such a phenomenon do not fall short of speculation among those who are passionate about the Holy Sepulcher. And, needless to say, those speculations range from the most elaborate to the most ridiculous.
Only The Tomb Of Christ?
The opening of the slab and the revelation of the stone where the body of Christ would have rested have demonstrated the tomb indeed matches the Jewish tombs of the 1st century. But according to Marie-Armelle Beaulieu, the essential core of the issue is to be found elsewhere. “I would be delighted if a scientific expert proved that this stone was indeed where Christ rested, but even if it were proven otherwise, it would still be a sign of the Resurrection.”
The journalist, who has been a resident in Jerusalem for the last 17 years, was part of the exclusive, privileged group that was granted access to the place. As she confesses: “The church of the Holy Sepulcher is a disconcerting place. At first I did not like it very much. I was expecting a beautiful church and I found this place of strange architecture, which does not recall anything of the biblical scenes. There is no trace of the garden of the tomb, for example.”
“But gradually I developed an attachment, during the processions in which I participated along with the Franciscans. It is not a place to visit, but rather a place to pray. Thanks to a friar, I was able to walk all the way in, until I reached the rock that supported the body of Christ, something I could not have imagined … I felt somehow weightless, but I remember all the details. I will never go visit the Holy Sepulcher in the same way.
“Right now, they have replaced the marble slab on top, and one can only partially see the crypt, through an opening [protected with a shielded glass]. But I know the stone is there. I had the habit of genuflecting before the tomb of Christ, and then I reflected and thought it was absurd, as there was no real Presence there, and that one should rather genuflect in front of the Blessed Sacrament. But in the Holy Sepulcher, in front of this tomb, there is a ‘real absence.’ An empty tomb. A miracle before which all knees bend, in Heaven, on Earth and in Hell.”

Any Christian who knows much about Christian history or have even read through the Book of Acts, then he or she is aware that saints have shed their blood, spent time in prison and/or died for the cause of Christ as martyrs. The truth is, even in our time, there are Christians suffering and dying like this, especially in the Middle East and Africa. Such a mentality of commitment to death is virtually lost in today’s church world of ease, comfort, pleasure, ear-tickling sermons, entertainment, amusements, softball ministries, the ecumenical movement, rampant lukewarmness and Scriptural ignorance.
All Christians are called to be martyrs.
When the Lord Jesus openly told people they would have to take up their cross to be his disciple and to be worthy of him, they understood the cost could and would often mean physical death. They also knew to be the Lord’s disciple and to be worthy of Jesus is the language of salvation:
And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple. (Luke 14:27)
Also, the Lord also often spoke of persecution and suffering that his followers would face. It is clear that suffering to the point of physical death goes with being his disciple and if you are not his disciple you are on the road to hell.
Why am I writing this? I am writing this because I am still infuriated, angry and shocked to learn that something disturbing and despicable occurred last month:
An “ecumenical” delegation of Roman Catholic and Protestant bishops and church leaders made a pilgrimage to the Holy Land in mid October. During a visit to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, the Chairman of the Council of the Evangelical (Protestant) Church in Germany, Bishop Bedford-Strohm and his Catholic colleague, Cardinal Reinhard Marx, Chairman of the Catholic Bishops‘ Conference, REMOVED their CROSSES while visiting the Al-Aksa Mosque— they removed their pectoral crosses due to respect to the Muslims. Imagine, it was particularly wrong for them to remove their Crosses, because this place, according to Jesus „will be called a house of prayer for all peoples” [Mark 11:17]
When they were criticized afterwards Bedford-Strohm explained that they didn’t wear it at the Jewish Wailing Wall too, as they were also asked by Israeli security officials.
The Israeli side denied their claim in a letter addressed to them:
“It is embarrassing enough you are bent before the radical Arab-Muslim hosts on the Dome of the Rock (which certainly would have given their symbols for a visit to a holy Christian faith ‘out of respect for Christianity’ !!!) But then also to assert that similar claims were expressed by the Jewish hosts for ‘security reasons’, almost borders on *******. “

The mother of one of the 21 Egyptian Copts killed by Islamic State (IS) in Libya last year said that she is thankful her son “died for The Cross”. Compare that to the two heretic modern-day pharisees!
“Where Is The Courage To Witness For The [Christian] Faith Of The German Church Leaders?”
The two most prominent representatives of German Christendom – Catholic and Protestant alike – caused a national debate by hiding their own distinctively Christian symbol and Sacred Sign – the Pectoral Cross – while they were both visiting the Jewish Wailing Wall as well as the Muslim Dome of the Rock on the Temple Mount.
Kath.net, the Austrian Catholic news website, has amply reported on the developments after the release of these pictures showing the two Church representatives without their visible and publicly worn Christian symbols. Major national newspapers such as the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, Die Welt, and the more populist tabloid Die Bild, have reported on this disturbing fact and have thus allowed further criticism of this obvious submission to the preferences of the two other world religions.
One of the regular contributors to Kath.net, Peter Winnemöller commented on this incident with the words:
“Certain pictures should not exist.”
In the newspaper Bild am Sonntag the author Miriam Hollstein says that, after Jesus picked up His Cross 2,000 years ago in Jerusalem, the bishops now laid it down there. A symbolic gesture of infidelity or dishonorable obsequiousness.
Winnemöller himself calls this “ecumenical” episcopal gesture a “bowing down before a dishonest request.” He continues, as follows:
A good collaboration between the religions cannot only demand a yielding from one of the sides. Something more is needed here. However, one also needs to have a certain stamina which our “Church leaders” have lacked.
The author admits to having had a sense of shame and a feeling of shock, and “the urgent wish that, at best, nobody had even seen it.”
Even the liberal journal, Der Spiegel, published an article whose author admits to have been “speechless” in the face of such a pandering “docility” toward their Muslim and their Jewish hosts who apparently – according to the visiting German representatives – had both asked them to remove their sacred Christian symbols out of respect for the “tense situation.” Even for the secular journal Der Spiegel, this is “a denial of the Faith.” There are “many people in the history of Christianity who have died because they had exactly refused to do that,” and we are now being reminded of this loyal fact even by this atheistic journal. “Today, they [these earlier faithful witnesses] are being revered as saints and martyrs.” Persevering endurance is what especially impresses the faithful, “not capitulation toward alien powers.”
Die Bild, a more populist, and popular, newspaper, surprisingly published an article written by the well-known Jewish historian, Professor Michael Wolffsohn, who also criticized the Christian Church leaders, even in the very title of his article: “Cardinal and Bishop Eschewed the Cross.” Wolffsohn points out that “many Christian representatives have visited the Temple Mount. To wear the cross has never been a [contentious] topic.” For him, this recent ecclesiastical gesture “is hard to believe.” The Jewish author then concludes his candid article with these words:
The conduct of the cardinal and the bishop gives alarming hints at their understanding of tolerance. It is obvious that they think that tolerance means something like submission or self-denial.
While Wolffsohn stresses, especially, the fact that the German Church leaders submitted themselves to the inordinate demands of the Islamic representatives, both Church leaders still insist that the Jewish representatives had also asked them to remove their public Christian symbol. It is still contested, however, whether these claims are solid facts or not.
Petra Heldt, a female Protestant pastor and representative of the association “Ecumenical Fraternity” in Jerusalem, moreover, has offered some very clear words herself when asked to comment upon this recent craven incident involving Cardinal Marx and Bishop Bedford-Strohm. She said: “When you come to the [Temple] Mount in Luther’s garment or in an episcopal garment, you have to keep your Cross. Otherwise, when rebuked for it, you just leave.” She reminds the readers that “here in the East of many religious wars, Christians would rather die than deny the Cross.”
Finally, once again, on 14 November 2016, Michael Wolffsohn redoubles his earlier critique of the German Church leaders, Marx and Bedford-Strohm, in an open letter addressed to both of them by saying: “just as you are tolerant toward Muslims and Jews, you may expect vice versa such a tolerance from Muslims and Jews.” He now asks: “Where is the Courage to Witness for the [Christian] Faith of the German Church leaders?”
Indeed, it seems that there is no excuse for this recent Catholic and Protestant conduct and implicit gesture of an evasion or denial of Christ – at least not in the eyes of some secular and Jewish, as well as Protestant and Catholic, commentators in Germany.
It also seems to show the limits of any ostensibly ecumenical attempt that leads to a watering down of one’s own Christian Faith and one’s own public Christian witness. Instead, one is to foster and to strengthen that Faith and Witness, certainly as a Catholic prelate.
In Catholic terms, this incident is very troubling. Cardinal Marx is a member of the Council of Nine, and one of the closest collaborators of Pope Francis. Not long ago, Francis himself had shown a certain inclination to water down the Catholic Faith for the sake of ecumenism when he visited Sweden. Only upon strong request did he consent to celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass while still in Sweden, but not without also stressing that “Proselytism is the most potent venom against the ecumenical journey.” And already earlier, in 2014, he came under criticism for seemingly hiding his own pectoral cross when meeting with a group rabbis in Jerusalem.
To what extent will these Church leaders receive God’s blessing when they show embarrassment about Christ and the Sacred Sign of their own Redemption, especially when they act in such an obviously disloyal way toward Christ? Do they – do we – even adequately now remember Christ’s own trenchant and warning words: “But he that shall deny me before men, I will also deny him before my Father who is in heaven.” (Matthew 10:33)?

The “Forest Jihad” was an existing methodology for many years in the Israeli-Palestinian and Hezbollah conflicts. Forests arson was prevalent in many conflict regions in different parts of the world long before Al Qaeda’s appearance. But Al Qaeda apparently embraced arson as an additional tactic in promoting economic damage to the West, as a political tool to influence public opinion in the West and Western governments. Targeting the economy as a comprehensive radical Islamic ideology is a focal point of its ideology and its inspired operations. Osama bin Laden, called for attacks against the U.S. economy. “It is important to concentrate on the destruction of the American economy”[25] The notion of “Economic Jihad” is not new, following the September 11 attacks in the U.S., Al-Qaeda came out with a series of official statements introducing the idea of economic Jihad. According to al-Qaeda, targeting the U.S economy is one of the main pillars in Bin Laden’s strategy of confronting the West.[26]
One of the pillars of Al-Qaeda’s operational objectives in its war against the West, is striking at targets of high economic value, the so-called “bleed-until-bankruptcy plan” first made public by Osama bin Laden himself in December 2004.[27]

Although overwhelmed by a domestic situation it barely controls, the French government still intervenes in the world affairs: a “Palestinian state” is still its favorite cause, Israel its favorite scapegoat.
Last Spring, even though both France and the Palestinian territories were in terrible shape, French Foreign Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault anyway declared that it was “urgent” to relaunch the “peace process” and create a Palestinian state. France therefore convened an international conference, held in Paris on June 3. Neither Israel nor the Palestinians were invited to it. The conference was a flop. It concluded with a vapid statement about the “imperative necessity” to go “forward.”
France did not stop there. The government then decided to organize a new conference in December. This time, with Israel and the Palestinians. Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, noting that Israel does not need intermediaries, refused the invitation. Palestinian leaders accepted. Saeb Erekat, the Palestinian Authority spokesman congratulated France, adding, not surprisingly, that the Palestinian Authority had “suggested” the idea to the French.
Now Donald Trump is the U.S. president-elect, and Newt Gingrich is likely to play a key role in the Trump Administration. Gingrich said a few years ago that there is no such a thing as a Palestinian people, and added last week that settlements are in no way an obstacle to peace. As such, the December conference looks as if it might be another failure.
French diplomats nevertheless are working with Palestinian officials on a UN resolution to recognize a Palestinian State inside the “1967 borders” (the 1949 armistice lines), but without any peace treaty. They are apparently hoping that outgoing U.S. President Barack Obama will not use the American veto at the Security Council, allowing the passage of the resolution. It is not certain at all that Barack Obama will want to end his presidency on a gesture so openly subversive. It is almost certain that France will fail there too. Again.
For many years, France seems to have built its entire foreign policy on aligning itself with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC): 56 Islamic countries plus the Palestinians. All four have been washouts. It is also obvious that France has more urgent problems to solve.

Everything changed with the end of the Algerian war. Charles de Gaulle handed Algeria over to a terrorist movement called the National Liberation Front. He then proceeded to create a strategic reorientation of the France’s foreign policy, unveiling what he called the “Arab policy of France.”
France signed trade and military agreements with various Arab dictatorships. To seduce its new friends, it eagerly adopted an anti-Israel policy. When, in the 1970s, terrorism in the form of airplane hijackings was invented by the Palestinians, and with the murder of Israeli athletes at the 1972 Munich Olympics, “the Palestinians” all at once became a “sacred cause” and a useful tool for leverage in the Arab world, France, adopting the “cause,” became rigidly pro-Palestinian.

As France’s Muslims are also pro-Palestinian, theoretically there should have been no problem. But France underestimated the effects of the rise of extremist Islam in the Muslim world and beyond.
More and more, French Muslims consider themselves Muslim first. Many claim that the West is at war with Islam; they see France and Israel as part of the West, so they are at war with them both. They see that France is anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian, but they also see that several French politicians maintain ties with Israel, so they likely think that France is not anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian enough.
They see that France tolerates Palestinian terrorism, and seem not to understand why France would fight Islamic terrorism in other places.
To please its Muslims, the French government may believe it has no choice other than to be as pro-Palestinian and as anti-Israel as possible — even though it looks as if this policy is failing badly in the polls.
The French government undoubtedly sees that it cannot prevent what increasingly looks like a looming disaster. This disaster is already taking place.
Perhaps France’s current government is hoping that it might delay the disaster a bit and avoid a civil war. Perhaps, they might hope, the “no go zones” will not explode — at least on their watch.
France today has six million Muslims, 10% of its population, and the percentage is growing. Polls show that one-third of French Muslims want the full application of Islamic sharia law. The French seem to have lost confidence in Nicolas Sarkozy, so they will probably choose between Marine Le Pen, Alain Juppé or François Fillon.
Marine Le Pen is the candidate of the far-right National Front.
Alain Juppé is the mayor of Bordeaux, and often campaigns in the company of Tareq Oubrou, imam of the city. Until recently, Tareq Oubrou was a member of the Muslim Brotherhood. Alain Juppé seems to believe that the present disorder will calm down if France fully submits.
François Fillon will probably be the moderate-right candidate. He recently said that “Islamic sectarianism” creates “problems in France.” He also said that if a Palestinian State is not created very soon, Israel will be “the main threat to world peace.”
Three years ago, the French philosopher Alain Finkielkraut published a book, The Unhappy Identity (L’identité malheureuse), describing the dangers inherent in the Islamization of France and the major disorders that stem from it. Juppé chose a campaign slogan intended to contradict Finkielkraut: “The Happy Identity“.
Since the publication of Alain Finkielkraut’s book, other pessimistic books have been published that became best-sellers in France. In October 2014, columnist Eric Zemmour published The French Suicide (Le suicide français). A few weeks ago, he published another book, A Five-Year Term for Nothing (Un quinquennat pour rien). He describes what he sees happening to France: “invasion, colonization, explosion.”
Zemmour defines the arrival of millions of Muslims in France during the last five decades as an invasion, and the recent arrival of hordes of migrants as the continuation of that invasion. He depicts the creation of “no-go zones” as the creation of Islamic territories on French soil and an integral part of a colonization process.
He writes that the eruptions of violence that spread are signs of an imminent explosion; that sooner or later, revolt will gain ground.
Another book, Will the Church Bells Ring Tomorrow? (Les cloches sonneront-elles encore demain?), was recently published by a former member of the French government, Philippe de Villiers.
Villiers notes the disappearance of churches in France, and their replacement by mosques. He also mentions the presence in “no-go zones” of thousands of weapons of war (AK-47 assault rifles, Tokarev pistols, M80 Zolja anti-tank weapons, etc). He adds that weapons will probably not even have to be used — the Islamists have already won.

A shocking video has emerged of a dinghy packed with migrants sinking in the Mediterranean after they mistook a Tunisian trawler for a coastguard ship.
The footage appeared on the internet today and comes as the Italian coastguard warned that eight people had died and many more were missing after another migrant boat went down in the Mediterranean.

It is not clear if the footage is from this week or from the summer but it clearly shows the large white dinghy aiming itself at the ship.
It comes alongside the trawler and, as the migrants desperately try to climb up the side of the fishing vessel, the dinghy capsizes and dozens are thrown into the sea.
Many of the migrants clearly cannot swim and only a handful are wearing lifebelts.
As a man onboard the trawler’s deck shouts in Italian: ‘Calma (Stay calm)’ the situation gets worse and eventually the bodies of people who have clearly drowned can be seen floating on the surface.
The video was uploaded onto Youtube, where a commentator says: ‘The crew were reluctant to help since letting them on board would have been a serious security risk as it would have them outnumbered 10 to 1.
‘The only way to help would be individuals of the crew rappelling down to to the sea line, which would most likely result in their own death as the immigrants would drag them down.’
The Italian coastguard has a policy of escorting to shore any migrants it finds at sea and it is thought those on the migrant boat thought they would be rescued and taken to Italy if their boat capsized next to the ship. They were unaware it was just a fishing vessel operating out of a Tunisian port.
