An internal police report reveals the level of chaos that existed in Cologne on New Year’s Eve as hundreds of intoxicated men robbed people and groped dozens of women while police struggled to respond.

The report, written by a senior police official and obtained by Der Spiegel, states, “Women, accompanied or not, literally ran a ‘gauntlet’ through masses of heavily intoxicated men that words cannot describe.”

Officers were overtaxed and struggled to respond to what the report calls “chaos.” “Security forces were unable to get all of the incidents, assaults, crimes, etc. under control. There were simply too many happening at the same time,” the report states.

When people in the crowd called for help, officers found they could not work their way through to reach them because of groups of men blocking their way. When officers ordered members of the mob to disperse, they were ignored.

The report also leaves little doubt about who was involved in the chaotic scene, describing the perpetrators as male migrants. Some offenders in the crowd even tore up their residence permits in front of police. One of these individuals reportedly grinned at an officer and said, “You can’t touch me. I’ll just go back tomorrow and get a new one.”

Another man reportedly told police, “I’m a Syrian! You have to treat me kindly! Mrs. Merkel invited me.” Germany’s Justice Minister indicated on Thursday that asylum seekers found guilty of sexual assault could be deported.

At least 150 reports have been filed with police, and the Telegraph reports three-quarters of those are women alleging sexual assault. That includes two cases of alleged rape. Several women involved in the chaos have already come forward to describe their experiences.

Despite the unprecedented chaos that transpired that night, police reported on January 1st that the tone of the evening had been “relaxed.” No clear explanation for that unfounded assessment has been offered, but police have since admitted it was “incorrect.”

German Attacks Are a Symptom of Migrant Crisis

AT the end of last summer much of the German political class and public were enveloped by a mood of self-congratulation over their response to the European migrant crisis.

As Chancellor Angela Merkel opened the floodgates, Germans wallowed in moral superiority about their supposed compassion and tolerance. New arrivals were applauded by self-regarding crowds at train stations.

Volunteers eagerly collected clothing, food and toiletries. “We love refugees,” proclaimed banners at rallies and football matches. But now as the numbers continue to grow, the German people are waking up to the brutal impact of Merkel’s reckless open-door policy.

The smugness has been replaced by anxiety, the triumphalism by fear. With more than 1.1million self-styled refugees having arrived in Germany over the past year alone, a society once renowned for its orderliness is buckling under the strain.

The country’s descent into darkness has been encapsulated in an appalling incident that took place in Cologne on New Year’s Eve when a group of migrants perhaps numbering as many as 1,000 men, attacked female revellers in the city centre.

More than 90 claims of assault have been lodged with the police, who say that the perpetrators were “largely from the north African or Arab world”.

The crimes were shocking not just for their sheer scale but also for their level of organisation and aggression. One woman said she was raped. Another claimed to have been groped “around 100 times over 200 metres” as she walked from Cologne railway station.

Typically for modern Europe, where censorship is used ruthlessly by political elites to prevent the exposure of any failings in their cherished doctrine of multiculturalism, the news of the Cologne outrage was covered up for days until the sheer weight of evidence shattered the official silence.

Yesterday Germany’s public broadcaster ZDF issued an apology for not reporting the story soon after it happened. Yet still the official climate of denial remains.

The Mayor of Cologne Henriette Reker, who is a leading member of the pro-immigration brigade, said that it was “completely improper” to draw any connection between the city centre assaults and the recent migrant influx.

Her stance is delusional, putting political dogma before the truth.

The fact is that most of these so-called refugees in Germany, who are nearly all young Muslim men, hail from African, Middle Eastern and Asian cultures in which women are subjected to barbaric discrimination, treated as second-class citizens and often regarded as little more than possessions or sex slaves.

Scenes like those in Cologne regularly occur throughout the Islamic countries. Indeed there is a chilling parallel between the accounts of the New Year’s Eve assault in the city and the terrible experiences of female journalists in Cairo during the misnamed “Arab spring”.

There too virtue-signalling sentimentality initially blinded reporters to the misogynistic nature of Islam although the misconceptions were soon punctured.

One journalist, Natasha Smith, described how, during the pro-democracy demonstrations at Tahrir Square in 2013, she was attacked by “a group of animals”, who stripped her, then repeatedly assaulted her.

Celebrations in Germany have been tarnished

I was tossed around like fresh meat among starving lions,” Ms Smith recalled. For all her politically correct sensibilities the Mayor of Cologne inadvertently gave the game away when she said that at future public celebrations women should “keep an arm’s length from strangers” to prevent harassment.

Why on earth is the burden on women to avoid attacks by predatory foreign men? None of this would be happening if immigration had been controlled. But now thanks to their fixation with open borders the authorities are starting to recreate Islamic regimes within Europe where women must live under permanent oppression.

This goes to the heart of the paradox about the present social revolution in Europe driven by mass immigration. Partly out of guilt about legacies of the Second World War and Empire, European governments have demolished their borders as an indicator of their liberalism.

Yet the consequence has been to bring into our societies millions of people whose reactionary, primitive, superstitious attitudes are totally incompatible with our traditions of liberal democracy.

As a leaked report from German intelligence put it, “We are importing Islamic extremism, Arab anti-Semitism, national and ethnic conflicts of other peoples, as well different understandings of society and law.”

The Cologne horror is all too indicative of a growing sense of breakdown across Europe fuelled by mass immigration. Germany has seen urban riots, drug crimes, terrorist scares and intimidation of women.

In one bitterly ironic incident, the charity Refugee Welcome in Bonn had to apologise after female volunteers were harassed at a party to make migrants feel at home. It is the same elsewhere.

Uncontrolled immigration has plagued France with terrorism and turned progressive Sweden into one of the rape capitals of the world.

In Britain, where annual arrivals stand at more than 630,000, we have seen the spread of sharia law, the growth of Islamic extremism, the arrival of “honour” killings, and the malignancy of racist Muslim sex gangs who prey on vulnerable white girls.

As immigration accelerates and traditional Europe declines, these problems will worsen. Our politicians have sown the seeds and we are reaping the whirlwind.
